First off, I absolutely loved the breakfast buffet. As my wife and I sat down, a young gentleman promptly asked if we would like coffee right away, which was a very pleasant surprise. The coffee he brought was outstanding—wonderful aroma and taste, with a traditional Vietnamese chicory influence. It had a mild, welcoming fragrance and a rich, deep flavor that truly made my morning after a long 30-hour journey from Manvel, TX.
The breakfast lounge itself had a historical French feel. A young lady walked around offering guests pastries, which added to the experience—mind you, I’ve never been to France, but this certainly felt like how I imagine it.
As my wife and I finished our breakfast and prepared to leave, the same young gentleman kindly asked if we would like another coffee for the road. By that point, I had already enjoyed three.
Overall, the service was fantastic. The rooftop pool was another highlight—relaxing there in the late morning after breakfast with a beer was an experience in itself. We stayed at Sofitel near Christmas, and while I can’t quite fully explain it, the holiday selection was excellent… though I suspect the beer may have had some influence on that opinion.
