Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa

Never wrote a review before,as never felt the need, but this place and the staff need to be shouted about from the rooftops. |Firstly the hotel is fabulous, from the restaurants to the pool. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful, especially Alson who would spend at least 5 minutes everyday engaging in conversation obout how our holiday was going, providing information on Singapore, past and present, and most importantly brought us our oders from the pool bar. Thanks for showing a genuine interest in both Karen and myself. Also a big shout out to Kiki who had the unenviable task of making up our room everyday. Walked out with the place, left as if there had been a riot the night before, to come back to the room as if it was the first night in the room. Thank you! Food in the hotel was amazing, wether it was in both restaurants in the hotel, or snacks by the pool. The quality never slipped.(NB. Five star hotel, Five star prices!) Bus sevice to and from the Harbour front, every half hour, wether from the hotel or the drop off / pick up point(at the MRT) fantastic and always ran on time. Quick note about the golf course next to the hotel, Two courses to chose from, we played the Tanjyong, fabulous course but if you are going to play, try and play in the morning, heat in the afternoon is deadly.|Would we come back, definitely, holiday of a lifetime made more special by the facilities and staff at the hotel. Thank you!

This is a surprised school holiday staycation for the family. Overall experience is wonderful. Hotel buffet spread was better than expected. Buffet Service was very good as well, shout out to Michelle who served us during the dinner, she did a good job to keep everything at the tip top level. Free flow of wine is worth it. Kids enjoyed the pool, the family room was very spacious and clean.

I have booked a luxury king room this time round. However as compared to the service I had previously ( I booked a suite ), the service this time round was disappointing. Checked in was hassle-free, however welcome fruits were given even though it was stated in the invoice. Called the concierge twice and didn’t even get back to me at all. In addition, when we were roaming around the hotel, I was bitten by many mosquitoes. So I went to the concierge to ask for mosquito repellent. The lady didn’t even look up when I was talking to her. Furthermore, she offered electric repellent meant for the room. The previous round I was given a bottle of repellent. The toiletries wasn’t given in full set. Soap bar and comb were missing.. Overall, to conclude it wasn’t value for money. If you want a better service and newer amenities would suggest you to look at other hotels in Sentosa.

The stay was great. People are generally good and go beyond to make you feel comfortable. The old man at the front door making my little daughter smile every day, Farah was excellent during the breakfast and even during lunch we had in the restaurant. The drinks at the Le bar were amazing including the service. Pool was nice and rooms were very comfortable. My junior suite was perfect. During check-in I was denied an upgrade stating upgrade was not available for gold members. I was just downgraded to gold this year and was platinum members for several years. Even as a gold member I always got an upgrade through my stays in different countries.

Well located resort, but inconsistent service and limited dining options. Didn't feel like a Sofitel experience.||PROs:|*Generous size suite and loved the colourful bathroom.|*Breakfast at the Kwee Zeen was good, plenty of variety|*Resort style atmosphere|*Refreshing pool|*Benny at reception was friendly and gave us a good suite upgrade deal|*Fantastic and timely shuttle bus service ||CONs:|*We had the Half-board option and could not have any vegetarian dishes, even though it was on the menu.|*Only one staff member at the reception during most times of our visit meant a long wait to check in and out|*Reception staff (other than Benny) were indifferent. A particular older gentleman at reception was quite rude. On one occassion he rudely stated that he had already explained the shuttle bus service to me, even though I had never spoken to him before.|*Italian restaurant was exclusive, but very pricey|*No direct access to a beach, 15 minute walk to the nearest beach.

Very strange reading about some bad reviews cause our experience was fantastic! Our check in was done within 10 mins, we barely waited at all. Staff at the lobby, restaurants and basically everyone we met were so friendly and courteous. But we did see a queue at checkout so we went for the express checkout The room we got was really nice, clean and had a beautiful view of greenery and a bit of the city skyline. Dined at all the restaurants during our stay too, and honestly am so satisfied with the overall experience. Restaurant staff were short handed everywhere so getting their attention took awhile but they always served us with smiles and were so proactive all the time.

My daughter and I checked in on the eve on her birthday with our dog and was offered no assistance despite carrying three bags and a pram. The bell services asked if we had luggage and we communicated that we needed help with our hands full. Instead he proceeded to check the back of the van and say there was no luggage and told us to proceed to check-in. At check-in, there was only one front desk staff, Fairouz, who was attending to another guest and so we waited for about 5 minutes. It became immediately apparent how short staffed the hotel was and no apologies were offered for the wait. Instead, he was cold and curt when asked about the islander points. We had informed the hotel that we were celebrating her birthday and this should have been obvious when he asked for our ICs. No greetings and he accorded room number 444 to us on this date. No offer was helped to usher us or assist us to the room. Upon arrival, the room was warm and cleanliness of the bathtub left much to be desired with a pink powder and hairs in the tub. No birthday or pet amenities were in the room despite being committed prior to arrival. We called front desk several times in regard to this as well as to ask for scissors and a hair straightener and when we received a call back, this was no available and were told we have to come to reception for the scissors. Service thus far was non-existent. Things started to look a little better when we met Michael on the way to the pool who helpfully provided directions and offered assistance with the pram whilst walking us there. He was knowledgeable and courteous and what one would expect from a luxury hotel. We proceeded for dinner at Kweezen lager and was very rudely chased out by a chineee staff without asking if we were joining for dinner. We made our way to outside seating where we were ushered by Anna. She informed us that we had been upgraded to the mini buffet instead of the course meals. Having experience in hospitality before, I know this is done because it’s less cumbersome on both the wait and kitchen staff. The selection (whilst tasty) was pathetic. We had to sit outside because of our pet but no measures were taken to ensure our comfort with the mosquitoes and the monkeys. We let the Anna know and she offered mosquito repellent and said they would monitor the situation but there was no staff in sight in the outside seating throughout our dinner. I wanted to get better food and was told by your concierge that the hotel only provided shuttles toward Harbourfront and to RWS in the mornings only. He also stated that everything was terribly far away in a manner of resignation. How can this be so for a 5 star property that will lose out in terms of accessibility and makes little effort to manage that? Upon returning to the room, i called the front desk to ask for Contour pillows and they had absolutely no idea what I was talking about. Exasperated, I ended up telling to just get me firmer pillows. This is not 5 star. Delivery for items I will say, was not long. The only pleasant experience we had was at breakfast. The spread was reasonable and we were served by Peter and Rachel who were an absolute delight and showed genuine care and concern for all their patrons - checking up on us and covering up our food when we left to take items from the buffet. Their service, along with your chef’s eggs ( better than the ritz- carlton) was 5 star worthy. We had to deal with the front desk again at check out with one agent again and we were in a rush. I was approached by bell services who went to the back office to get a staff (specially) to assist us with our check-out. He was curt and told us that our room charges had not been paid. With our experience from the day before, we were ready and showered him the payment link and he assured us that he will get the accounts department to post the payment. Despite this, we received a notification later that we were charged again. Absolutely ridiculous. Shouldn’t all this have been done after the night audit? The sheer lack of communication and blame-shifting by your duty manager stating this was the fault of the accounts department was mind blowing. I truly regret booking this hotel for her birthday and would rather pay a little bit more to stay at Capella again. This heavy review is simply to warn other travellers because I expect to get the same boiler plate answer to the same issues pointed out as seen in so many reviews before.

The resort was tucked away in a quieter side of the island with simple access to 2 beaches, otherwise also near the beach shuttle stops. However, it is a distance from main attractions but a bus is available. Staff service was excellent & well trained, but building was rather old & needs refurbishment. Breakfast was a decent variety but quality of food wasn't 5 stars. Dinner at The Cliff was delightful.
