The buns here are huge and the price is really good. I got the pineapple bbq pork, pineapple red bean, and curry beef buns. All the buns have a good amount of filling and they use real red beans and not the paste in their red bean buns. They have a ton of variety of different pastries and cold dessert here. Make sure you have cash on hand as this place only takes cash for payment.

Google
Really good assortment of baked good. Nice soft buns. The first thing that hits you is the smell of baked bread and butter. The smell is very sweet. It makes you want to buy everything. The buns look very delightful and fluffy. there are lots of variety to choose from. My personal favorite is the pineapple (bolo) bun (even though there is no pineapple in the bun). The coconut tarts and cookies looked also appealing. I wanted to buy them all but we only ended up with six different buns. They were super soft and delicious. We ended up eating them for dinner. If you buy six buns

Google
I bought a cake and came home to find mold. This one was still from their store refrigerator. With all the moldy ones from the fridge, I strongly doubt the other breads were fresh. They don’t write production date and expire date for all other bread. Don't go here.

Google
I was so excited to try their matcha coconut tart and black sesame cake but it tasted like old pastry :(. The cake was super dry. The tart barely had any coconut or matcha taste. For both items food colouring was used to make it look nice.

Decided to drop by and picked up some eggs tarts with the flakey crust, but they were all sold out by the afternoon. We were disappointed, since people were raving about it online. So we decided to try the eggs tarts with a different crust as it was still available. It was okay and not overly sweet. We paid with cash.

Google
I like the cookies and buns here. They are tasty and delicious, with very reasonable price. Difficult to get their egg tasts as it sold out quick. One thing that I am confused is the tax they charge. I bought one little bun under $2, some times they charge me no tax while all the other times they charge me 15%. Normally chinese bakery would just charge 5%. So they really have inconsistency based on who is at the cashier.

Google
Pineapple bun was cheap and delicious, and so was the BBQ pork bun. Great spot to buy some buns when you get a little hungry.

Google
I used to frequent this bakery a lot back when I worked around the area! Why? ✔Each pastry is PACKED with flavor ✔Award winning milk tea served here ✔Individually packed bread ✔Wide variety of bread/pastries offered I hadn't visited this bakery in almost a year and I sure am glad I went back! I'm not sure what happened but I am definitely happy about it because their bread buns appeared to have doubled in size since my last visit 🤤 That just means more value for your purchase! My favorite items to get from here are as follows: -[CHEESE BREAD SAUSAGE BUN] $1.80 No joke, this bun is MASSIVE! It could very easily be all you need to eat for a full meal 🤭 -[GREEN ONION BACON BUN] (I will update with price when I go back!) -[INDIVIDUAL CHICKEN PIE] (I will update with price when I go back!) Definitely stop by if you're already in the area shopping at T&T! Very worth a trip to a local bakery 🍞

Yelp
Step in the wonderful aroma of fresh baked pastry! They make good Asian style savoury and sweet buns that are loaded with good filling and hardly any fillers. Come early to avoid disappointment on selections, the egg tarts get sold out quickly here. Would visit here first and skip the T & T across the street. BBQ Pork Bun(original style) Smell that sweet bread yeast! It's a generous size filled with chopped up with sweet BBQ pork in a sweet Chinese style bbq sauce, stuffed in an airy bun! There's a good amount of meat in here with no weird fillers unlike at T&T. Egg Tart with Flaky crust These are heavy! Sweet eggs and cream baked into fluffy, flaky pastry crust. It's a thicker version of a creme brûlée like filling. Curry Beef Pastry These are delish and hard to find a good one. It's important to have a flavourful balance of mild curry spice, moist beef and flaky pastry shell. They hold up well for a few days, just pop it into toaster oven and it's like day one. Parking in this plaza is ok to terrible. Three people limit inside during Phase 3 of Covid. Buy 6 or more, for no tax

Yelp
The egg custard tarts from here are not bad! They're a decent size and much larger than what you typically get from restaurants. Fresh made every morning. Makes for a filling mid afternoon snack!

Yelp
A lot of the photos of items you see is not available at the store, those photos are old and they must have changed ownership or the baker changed cause everything was different. The buns are kinda big but it's dense and not fluffy soft, the recipe is not good. The prices are decent, average around $2 each give or take depending on the toppings.

Yelp
I recently tried the spaghetti at Soho Bakery and Desserts and was quite disappointed. The spaghetti tasted bland and seemed old l, lacking any fresh flavors or seasoning it feels like it has been on the heating platform for the past week. The staff seemed inattentive and not very welcoming, which added to the overall unsatisfactory experience. If your looking for a place with fresh food or pastries, I would not recommend this place. This is what I get for trying spaghetti at a BAKERY.

Yelp
This used to be a bakery I went to a lot back when I worked in the area! The biggest reason for it was because it had a lot of buns that were just what I was looking for in terms of ingredients that were unique :D -Each pastry is extremely flavorful -Their milk tea is award winning (literally) -Their bread is pre-individually packec in bags already -Large variety of pastries/bread offered My personal recommendation that is my favorite from here is..... -[GREEN ONION & BACON BUN] This bun is PACKED with bacon bits, green onions, and some mixture of cream cheese~ Honestly, such a delicious combination! Also! I highly recommend their -[CHEESE BREAD SAUSAGE BUN] $1.80 ^this bun could EASILY be a full meal! Not sure what happened to their buns but I am not complaining :D Their buns are MASSIVE in a great way, now! Just means the value is better compared to before and the quality has remained the same, and I dare say it, I personally think it has actually IMPROVED! Oh, also, don't forget to try their -[INDIVIDUAL CHICKEN PIE] The pastry is very flaky in a lovely way and the filling is delicious~ Stop on by and buy your bread from here instead of T&T!

Yelp
Discovered Soho for the classic pineapple bun (菠蘿包)and HK milk tea (港式奶茶) during this pandemic. What a good find! Close to home so the buns are still warm when we bring them back. The buns are so tender and soft, melt-in-your mouth goodness. They remind me of the buns we got down the street in Hong Kong. Their tea is so smooth and fragrant too! Together, they make the perfect breakfast. My hubby even cut the 1/4" slab of butter into it to create his own 菠蘿油. This week we tried the pineapple cocktail bun (菠蘿雞尾包) but I don't think I'll get it again. While the bun's texture and topping were as good as their pineapple bun, the filling was way too sweet. You know how when something is overly sweet, it makes you sweat? Well this was it. If the sugar was cut 25% to even 50% it would taste better. I already feel the sugar stomach ache brewing.

Yelp
I came back again because I was craving for the milk tea. Not all the buns were out yet as they officially open at 9am., but I went in anyway as the doors were open. I bought the original pineapple bun. It was sooooo good as it was still warm. The bun was soft inside and the crust was a little crunch on the outside. I really enjoyed it!! I had asked for little sugar in my milk tea and it was perfect this time. Last time I had asked for little sugar but it was still on the sweet side . Perfect with my pineapple Bun before work!

Yelp
Can't speak much about their buns, but my family loves their mixed fruit cakes. However, I found their size to be quite disappointing now. It has significantly shrunk and I'm not exaggerating on this. Please see pic below. The fortunate part is that the taste is still the same but with less fruits? I called in to order the cake and specifically asked the person on the phone what is their smallest size. They said 7inches which equal to 1 pound, $30. Totally fine and delighted until I opened the box. The cake is only 5inches!!!!! Don't tell me it's a 7inch/1lb cake when it's not. price here is not the issue, I felt like I was lied to. Please make sure you advertise the right measurements because we ended up not having enough cake for our party.

Yelp
This bakery was on my radar for quite some time. It was a bit of a trek, but I found a plaza nearby, so I managed to check out the surrounding area as well. There is a small eating area, and a good selection of buns, tarts, breads and cakes. I found the egg tarts, mango swiss roll and black sesame mochi were okay. The coconut tart was dry and crumbly; however, the coconut bun had a generous filling inside and was good. The staff could have been more personable; overall, I just didn't get a good vibe. While it's a nice little bakery in a residential area, I wish I had loved it more. Perhaps it was just an off day ... My receipt wasn't itemized - selections ranged from $1.20 - $1.80 each.

Yelp
Excellent Hong Kong milk tea which they mix upon ordering and a beautiful variety of cakes like chestnut and mango. Wish i had room to try their oven fresh dan tat!

Yelp
An upscale Asian meets Western Chinese bakery, quite similar to Bake Code. Unlike other Asian bakeries, someone was here to greet you and make recommendations and explain what was inside each of their buns. They have your typical buns like BBQ Pork and Pineapple Bun, and then they have other unique buns that they don't offer elsewhere like Durian Bun and Apple Pie look-alike Bun (forgot the actual name). I ordered the Durian Bun (made with real Durian, not that much was inside but it actually complimented the bread very well and it's a tad on the sweeter side), Korean-style Bun...forgot the actual name of it (has chilli better on top, pork, cheese, and green onion on the inside. Interesting twist from the Chico powder! however, I wish there was more toppings inside to fill in the bun), and the wintermelon pastry (has lots of fillings!). My uncle also delivered egg tarts and those were delicious. As mentioned from the other reviewers, there is a lot of egg inside it. I love how the buns are super fluffy and light and fresh!!! The price quite is quite high compared to Chinese bakeries, but imo not as high as Bake Code. I would however come back in the future to try out other unique buns that they offer and I heard their milk tea was good too. They also serve pretty and cute cakes (they have Durian cake for you durian lovers! ).

Yelp
This Chinese bakery looks more modern than most. I visited during lunch hour and they had two people working and there was no shortage of buns/pastries. I came to try the award winning milk. It was smooth but it was a little stronger than I prefer. I think the price was above average (closer to the $3 mark). They also really take their time making it (which can be a good and bad thing). If I come again, I would call ahead to order my milk tea. I also ordered a green tea sponge cake. It was great, light flavour but you can still taste the green tea. It was very soft, not too moist and not crumbly (I hate crumbly cakes!) The little cat stamp on the top was the best part :)

Yelp
I have been here several times. It is located one block east of Woodbine and 16th Avenue on the southwest corner, in a small plaza. The parking there is limited especially during lunch time. Atmosphere 3.5/5 Pretty average for a Chinese bakery maybe slightly modern than the Lucullus. Service 3/5 They are alright. Sometimes it is good but sometimes it is bad depending on who is there. Food 3.5/5 It is pretty good depending on what you get. I like their egg tarts. Their curry beef bun is good. I do fine their buns a bit more fluffy or airy. Overall they are pretty good especially for the area price wise it is slightly more expensive than other places. Definitely will come back again.
google avatar

Wynne L.

Yelp
This is a small shop on 16th Avenue, east of Woodbine Avenue. The buns are already individually packaged and it seems like plain buns are $1.50 (pineapple bun) and ones with filling are $1.80 (pineapple bun with red bean filling, curry beef). There was a decent amount of beef in the curry beef bun and the ham and cheese bun had a thick slice of ham in it. The egg was strange though, it had the right colour but texture and taste was really off. I'm not sure how pricing compares to other bakeries since I haven't been in a while but I saw at T&T that a pineapple bun was $1.09. Overall we found that the buns are average in terms of taste and larger in size but don't necessarily justify the seemingly higher price point.

Yelp
Pretty good Hong Kong milk tea, egg tarts, and pineapple bun. The tea flavor was strong and not too sweet.

Yelp
Ordered a birthday cake, the Matcha Cheesecake ($35). Their cakes are a little bit more expensive than other bakeries, but they did look good, and I've heard good things about their cakes. They have small one piece cakes if you ever want a small dessert. I did enjoy the matcha cheesecake, but wish that the matcha was more sweet. Their buns are different than other bakeries and I like the variety of buns that they serve. They have a small seating area and serve some drinks on the side. They have free parking since they're located inside a plaza. I'd come back and try some of their Chinese buns and possibly the small slices of cakes.

Yelp
Couple of friends told us about this new-ish bakery shop especially their winning HK milk tea. It's located in a small plaza so there are limited parking spots. We managed to find one around lunch time. The store is smaller than I thought, but there are 4 small tables for chitchatting. It smelled really nice when I walked in, but as soon as I saw the prices, I was kinda shocked. They were pricier than I thought and there weren't that many interesting buns. The avg buns cost just less than $2 each. We grabbed 6 buns assuming it would be tax free, along with two HK milk tea. The cashier did not say a word from the time we walked in and till after we paid. I think he only nodded once when I asked a question, weird. We tried the milk tea and it wasn't what we were expecting. It was nice, but not as strong as marathon. It tasted a bit better than other HK milk tea, but I'm not sure about the price because there were no signs. I got the portugese chicken bun hoping it would taste like the rice, but I was very disappointed. There was no chicken, just little portugese sauce and lots of shredded coconut on top of the bun. Will I come back again? Maybe when I'm craving for HK milk tea and if I'm in the area.

Yelp
Recommended by my Yelpie friends, located in a corner plaza at 16th east of Woodbine. Lots of cake selections and prices are reasonable. Cakes only come in one size, all around $30. The birthday plaques are piped on white chocolate. The egg tarts were so delicious. The pastry crust is crispy and thin, and the filling is not overly sweet. Will come back to try their award winning milk tea next time!

Yelp
Speed read: 1) HK style bakery that try to go high end 2) Above average price and quality 3) Award winning HK style tea and YinYang YinYang: It is a blend of coffee and milk tea in a single cup. 30% filtered coffee, 60% tea, 5-10% evaporated milk I had the HK milk tea the first time I visited. I would prefer a stronger tea taste. Second time I visited, I had the egg tart and YinYang. I have a chance to talked to the owner who won the Tea and coffee contest. He explained to me the HK style milk tea serve in the store were toned down to satisfy most of the customers who preferred the tea to be not too strong. The owner recommended me to try their sweet potato buns and the almond croissant, which at that time I was too full to try, but I will go back. The price of the drinks and baked goods are more expensive than the typical HK bakery. However, I found the quality to be better (in the bread texture and taste). If the owner is reading this, I wish they would serve the award winning HK style tea or YingYang (perhaps as a special events, i.e. Yelp events :) I would love to try them.

Yelp
Was close by and visited to check out the local bakery. Was described to be fancier than a regular bakery online - I would definitely say that it's definitely trying. They offer rolls, mini desserts, buns, hk tea, and cakes. The buns were priced more about 30% more than other bakeries but didn't try any so not sure about the taste or quality. Tried their chestnut tart, mango roll, and hk tea. The mango roll was light and tasty, but I'm not a fan of the slightly tart mango filling. The hk tea was okay. The tart was definitely not as good as the one from Duo. The top cream part was more cream than chestnut and seemed to lack in chestnut flavour. One really nice thing is that the staff who served me was very nice. Carefully explained to me about their use of nuts due to a nut allergy. He seemed very aware of the processes that the bakery used. I would come back due to convenience to try a few more items, but probably wouldn't purchase the tart again. One thing that is very lacking is a menu with prices as I didn't see one. I had to ask if they had hk tea and the cost. There was no display indicating what they sold. Isn't that strange? Or maybe I missed it? But you would think that what you could order should be the most obvious display? There is minimal seating so not good for groups.

Yelp
The tiramisu was pretty and tasty. You taste hints of alcohol along with the smooth and creamy cheese. The taste of coffee/espresso was not over whelming. I didn't like how the layers were not even. The chocolate decorations however tasted cheap...like they were made from melted chocolate coins. I would like to come back and try other stuff.
google avatar

Yelp
Not sure what is going on but there seems to be a paradigm shift with regards to Chinese bakeries. Ultra cheap, dingy and same old same old has been replaced by more modern, contemporary and innovative bakeries to the area such as Panash and Bake Code. Soho is the newest entry to this trend. The place is new, clean and modern with a glass partition separating the store from the kitchen so you can peak inside. Only got to try their apple cinnamon bun but it was light and tasty....kinda like an apple pie in a Chinese bun form;) Buns and cakes are more expensive but the quality is there and the service friendly and polite. The owner was working and obviously very proud of the place and asked how everything was. The HK milk tea was done really well as it was smooth and enjoyable. Enjoyed coming and would definitely come back to try all the other items in the store. Great addition to the area!
google avatar

Yelp
Stumbled upon the grand opening of this bakery today while having lunch at the Hai Tang restaurant next to them! Walked in to checkout the place, didn't get a chance to purchase any bakeries yet, but it's a nicely renovated place with fancy roll out drawers for the baked goodies! The prices look fair and this is definitely one of the few bakeries in the area. Considering today is their grand opening, there were no hours posted yet, and it seems like they only take cash at the moment. Can't wait to try their bakery very soon, it looks super good!
google avatar

Yelp
This is my favourite go to place for their milk tea and egg tarts!! Very authentic and it will make you feel like you are back in HK again. They have a lot of variety of buns which are baked freshly daily. My favourite is the ham and egg and sausage buns. Definitely a must-try.
google avatar

Nate Y.

Yelp
I can see the owner really making an effort to improve the business. He greets customers personally and invites them to try the different buns he has. Lots of choices. Transparent glass lets you see your buns being made and baked. Prices are reasonable for a "higher" end Chinese bakery. Chinese yam bun was unique. It's lightly dusted with coco powder and really resembles a potato. Egg tart was warm and plenty of filling which is better than most places where it's mainly crust. Fresh mango mochi which was my favourite dessert of all time when I went to Hong Kong. It has fresh mango bits which is hard to find. This place has it for 1 dollar a piece or 6 for 5.50. Would come back if I was in the area. Btw. Horrible parking situation here on weekends. Just park on the small streets outside and walk.
google avatar

Jeanette R.

Yelp
I've only tried the egg tarts from this place but they were simply delicious! It was creamy and the tart was slightly crisp. The only thing was that the egg tarts were always sold out!! Always call in advance for them to save some for you. Also the service was great!
google avatar

Yelp
This hidden gem tuck away in a residential community in Markham is definitely worth a visit. They make all sorts of delectable buns and pastries that are pleasing to the eye and palate. For those who like durian, you must try their durian bun. It's quite tasty. Go there early for the best selection of freshly made buns and you won't be disappointed. Their milk tea has won awards and is also worth a try. We have been there a few times during our visit to Toronto and would definitely recommend this place for those who love fresh baked buns!

Yelp
This place probably has the best Puff pastry egg tarts in Markham! I am fortunate to have this bakery in my neighborhood as I don't have to drive all the way to Scarborough for some good egg tarts anymore. Their egg tarts are big with large amount of egg custard filling. The crusts are thin and flaky. They sold out fast so its better to call before heading there. They also have a wide selection of buns. They not only offer the typical ones that you see at other Chinese bakeries but also some unique ones such as Durian bun, korean style bun, sweet potato buns etc. The buns are good quality with good amount of fillings in them.

Yelp
Went over to the good ole soho bakery, discovered their best tasting bun recently, seems someone else caught on cause they're always low. They make six of these a day and there's always 3 it less left by the time I get there, usually 1. This bun is banging, I think it's called crispy coconut bun, it's filled with coconut paste, that's sweet and soft. Outer bun has a thick dense pastry on top which goes well with the soft sweet filling. Lots of filling and melts in your mouth every time. Have been going a couple times a week just to get this bun, only sold here at soho bakery
google avatar

Cindy L.

Yelp
I have been here more times I can count with my hands and it has become my go to place for Chinese egg tarts in the GTA. Many Chinese bakeries make egg tarts that are either too milky, too sweet, too little egg. This place makes hands down the best egg tarts. They don't skimp on the amount of egg batter in each tart, and you can taste and smell the fragrance of egg in each tart. If I'm paying the same price for egg tart at other bakeries, I'm definitely coming here only. The bakery's staff (Boris, owner??) also has won third place for Hk milk tea and second place for HK Yin yeung this past year. I haven't tried it yet but look forward to do that soon.
google avatar

Edie K.

Yelp
I have been to this bakery several times and have had an okay experience. Two weeks ago, I bought a century egg pastry, however it had been mislabeled and it was more like a moon cake pastry. When I went back the next week, I mentioned this to the owner (Jason) and he allowed me to pre-order half a dozen century egg pastries to pick-up next week. When I went back today, not only were there no century egg pastries for me to pick up, Jason callously and rudely let me know that they had forgotten all about my order. There was no apology and no compensation, I am extremely disappointed in this behaviour and will no longer be patronizing this establishment.
google avatar

Yelp
Modern style bakery. Love their cakes and milk tea. Owner? Boris got the 1st place (HK style YuenYeung) and 3rd place (HK style milk tea) from International kamcha competition 2017.

Yelp
Came here right around 8:00pm. It has a nice luxury feel, but at the same time the prices aren't ridiculous in price. Runs range from 1.00-1.80. Tried their pineapple bun with bbq pork. Had plenty of bbq pork with a nice crispy top. Their mango roll is pretty good, instead of cream in the middle, it was like mango pulp or sauce which made it very flavourful. The coffee and chocolate roll had cream in the middle. The cake was a little dry. Husband had a El salavador coffee, and he said even though it pre-brewed, he was still able to taste the fruitiness of the coffee. Going to try to come earlier next time to try their other buns that get sold out early.
google avatar

Sherif S.

Yelp
I came here specifically for the HK milk tea. It was recommended to me by a friend. This place isn't bad. They don't have a large size really ... It was either a 8 oz or 10 oz drink. The teas are good and fans of milk tea should try this place out.

Yelp
Nice décor, decent service and great selections of buns and cakes. There are a few tables for seated eating. The kitchen is opened and we can see the chefs at work. I bought a few buns, one chestnut tart and a piece of mango cake. The buns are soft. The chestnut tart is delicious; tart is crispy and there is the perfect ratio of cake to chestnut cream. The mango cake is a bit dense and dry; minus 1 star. Will come back to try other cakes; they all look pretty and yum!

Yelp
Love Soho as my go-to bakery when I want to grab Chinese buns or buttery egg tarts! Their buns are always fluffy and delicious, with some of the best ingredients and toppings! I especially love getting the ham+egg bun with a couple of pastry egg tarts. They sadly only accept cash, no credit card or Apple Pay!
google avatar

M L.

Yelp
This is for their chestnut tart only. As a Mont Blanc fans, I have had many Mont Blanc so far, and I believe I could give my two cents on the "chestnut tart" here.... I went in and bought two of the chestnut dessert, one is called something Switzerland... I am not sure if the owner is not aware in general the dessert is called "Mont Blanc"? Anyway, the chestnut cream on top looks like it has chestnut taste, but it only has the color but not the taste. The bakery probably mixed too much cream with the chestnut cream. It's the first time I had such a bad quality chestnut cream mixture. The tart is ok, kinda like egg tart. The other "Switzerland" dessert had a few layers of Choux pastry, layered with the chestnut cream. The choux was a bit soggy and not crispy at all. The cream is same as the tart, very very bland taste with a lot of cream. I also bought some bread, they look like normal Hong Kong style bakery so they should taste ok. If I ever go back, I would never buy any of their desserts. It's a waste of my money. Oh yeah, the cashier never gives out the receipt. Why? Want to keep it as cash business and not report all revenue to Revenue Canada?
google avatar

Veronica C.

Yelp
The dessert is good. It sells whole cakes as well as slices which you can try a variety at one time. The bakery is nicely decorated and customers can have their treats inside the store where you can also order tea or coffee to eat with your desserts or byns.
google avatar

Samantha Y.

Yelp
The buns here look good, but tastes not so good. Almost all buns are $1.80 each. Red bean bun - The red bean is twisted in with the bun. It looks like there is a lot of red bean, but I can barely taste it. Very very sweet. Durian bun - The filling tastes like a mix of durian and milk cream. Very gooey and sweet. As I don't like milk cream, I didn't really like this bun.

Yelp
We dropped into SOHO bakery, the new location at Sheppard and Kennedy (opened a week ago). We were not disappointed. There was limited selection as the items were fresh from the oven, it was relatively early at 1000 hrs. Great value for portion and product. The service was friendly and courteous. This location is clean and has a few tables available to enjoy on site. I only wished for the baked goods to be placed in a box versus little bags. I would definitely recommend this place for fresh Asian baked goods at a great price point.

Yelp
The Yam buns were kind of tasteless. Im not sure why everyone raves about the. I love the apple cinnamon bun. It was so yummy! And the Angus beef bun. Those were my favorite buns from the ones I tried. The red bean one was pretty good too. But it got boring to eat real fast. I love SOHO because they still had buns even though I came later in the day. For that I will come back! I hate it when they run out of buns unless you wake up at 9AM. I like to sleep in! 4 stars ****

Yelp
This is my first time to buy cake from them. I got a mango mosses cake, and taste so good. My wife loves it and the sweet is good enough and the moose is so smooth. Next time I will try other cakes from them.

Yelp
Wonderful egg tarts! I bought a strawberry shortcake for my friend's birthday last month, it was wonderful! Their products are not too sweet and it smells wonderful when you are in there.

Yelp
It's ok place to grab some chiense buns if you are in the area. I'm not a huge fan of the yam buns that others like. It's literally just bread and yam as two separate things shoved together. Other times are ok; typical chinese buns

Yelp
I heard about their high quality buns so I came to try it on a Sunday afternoon. I got their durian bun which costs $1.80, pineapple bun $1.30, butter milk bun $1.50, crispy napolean bun $1.80, and sweet potato bun (forgot their price), and crispy coconut bun $1.80. The durian bun was so fresh, the bun had a good texture and there was an abundance of durian filling. For some the durian filling might not be strong enough, but for me I think it was a great balance of sweetness and bun. I liked how the filling wasnt overly sweet. The sweet potato bun had an entire sweet potato inside. The bun was good, but they had cocoa powder on the bun so it was quite bitter. I would have preferred just the sweet potato without the bitterness. My dad said the milk cream bun was good, but the bun wasnt as fresh as the other bun. The cream was perfectly sweet for him. The other buns were also good. The staff was friendly and the overall atmosphere is quite clean and organized. Parking can be limited due to lack of spots. I would definitely come back to try their cakes especially the chestnut ones. It looked so good. If you buy 6 buns, your buns become tax free.

Yelp
SOHO Bakery is located in a strip plaza along with a Hong Kong style restaurant making parking a real trouble around noon. The ambience is certainly more upscale, like lucullus downtown or lucullus downtown Markham location. The buns are in this amazing contraption where you lift the lid and the tray holding the buns will slide out. I would say the the higher price is justified by the amazing taste and the unique variety of buns that they offer. As for my favourite, it would certainly be the freshly baked Almond croissant which is a must try!

Yelp
So happy to finally have a great bakery near me. I stumbled upon SOHO bakery & desserts when i went to the plaza for takeout. This place has a great selection of buns and pastries such as sausage bun, pineapple bun, raisin bun and bbq pork bun. I also like their taro bun, french croissant and egg tarts. My sister also got their chestnut cake for a party, and everyone said it tasted very fresh and said it was delicious. I will definitely be coming here now for pastries and getting buns for breakfast.

Yelp
**I actually rate them 0 stars. Giving them 3 so it doesn't get disturbed The people there are very dishonest. They've charged me and others I know multiple times with a 40% extra price tag. When you tell them you've calculated the price wrong, they just say 'oh ok' and then charge you the actual price They purposefully calculate a wrong price tag in hopes to you don't notice so they could shamefully steal your money for their own personal gain. Stay away from this bakery of scammers.

Yelp
Had a bad experience one time. One day I came near the end of the day and there was a woman customer being aggressive trying to grab some pastries before they were gone
