Soho Point San Telmo Suites

My last four days in Argentina were at this charming and elegant hotel: San Telmo Suites. Lucia and Mariana were both so kind and always helpful. I felt royally treated. I especially enjoyed my chats with Lucia. The hotel is in my favourite barrio and just a half block away from my favourite corner: Defensa y Chile. Returning to San Telmo (5 times so far) I immediately feel at home. There are many restaurants and cafes just steps away, and there is Mercado San Telmo a few more blocks down Defensa. Parque Lezama is always enchanting. Walking along the Costanera is peaceful and delightful. There are even more restaurants by the waterfront. And I don't mind the walk (20 min) to the downtown area and Galerias Pacifico. The hotel has an air of an historical aristocrat with tall ceilings, doors, and windows. My suite had a proper sitting room, and an excellent bed up in the loft above. My sleeps were sound and so restful. There is a common kitchen for a morning coffee, but I enjoyed the many restaurants and cafes nearby. Of course I stayed on a Sunday for the feria. Again, right there, half a block away. I think back and miss it all so very much. Mariana helped with arranging for an Uber. It was most appreciated, more than she knows. I had a lovely time and felt so special at San Telmo Suites. The hotel's location is perfect, right in the heart of charming and vibrant San Telmo, with plenty of coffee shops and other eateries nearby. On Sundays, the San Telmo market is just around the corner. Mariana and Lucia were very friendly and helpful, and after an annoying noise incident, we received a room upgrade without any hassle. The suites are very spacious with a comfortable sitting area and a large bed. It would be great if the bathroom could be updated; that would really complete the experience.

The location is great, but the rooms are old. The hotel cancelled my reservation upon check in. I used points to book and had to overpay due to negligence. The bathroom was broken for 3 days, and the fixed it using a plastic bag. They changed me to another room day 3. The staff was semi helpful, but disrespectful when helping me alleviate the toilet issue. See screengrabs in spanish. Future travelers be warned.

Don't do it, they appear to be closed. They took my money, I showed up and nobody was there, called, messaged, rang the bell for 15 minutes nobody. Standing in the street late at night. They advertise 24 hour frontdesk in Google but it doesn't appear to be true, it's not even clear it's open even though they are taking reservations and (your money) with Priceline and other sites! San Telmo Suites is a wonderful experience in the old city. I loved staying here; this was the second time staying here. The entrance to the historic building is beautiful. The staff of the hotel is very nice and helpful. This fabulous hotel has excellent spacious rooms with baths and a great location on Calle Chile across from the historic El Zanjón de Granados. The hotel does not have a restaurant however there are many restaurants and cafes in the area.

Location excellent. Luxury? No. Rooms average, quirky with dated furniture. We booked a balcony room but allocated a ground floor room without view. Had to insist on the balcony. Both showers in this room dreadful. A trickle of water, wait 10 minutes for any mild warmth. Staff interraction very minimal, that may suit most people.

We had a bad experience they took our money but were not open, still days later do not respond, never returned the money. Beware
