I had creamy mushroom which consisted of grilled Ancho Chile marinated shrimp, and tilapia fillet, topped with Parmesan, chipotle,mushrooms, spinach creamy sauce, served with beans and rice..... absolutely delicious, presentation beautiful, prices affordable, staff friendly. I'll be back to try more dishes..... I returned and tried the tilapia tacos..... 3 Huge size tacos with a good amount of fish....it was delicious as well....

I'm sorry my picture wasn't before I tore my plate up but I forgot haha. The 4 rolled tacos plate is my safe haven for new Mexican places and so now I just can't wait to taste the rest of the menu, I'll definitely be back, especially since my food was given nice and hot, that's the best part! Thank you

The food here was great! We came for lunch and got the Azteca burrito and the lunch beef chimichanga. The flavor for both is great - the meat was really moist & well flavored and everything seemed freshly made. They also make the best horchata I’ve ever tasted (and this is coming from someone who doesn’t like horchata). The portions were great - even the lunch portion was large enough that I had leftovers. I’d highly recommend Sol Azteca!

If you like genuine Mexican food it's really a good place to go. It's a small dining room so make sure you get there early. They do bring your plates to your table and have lots of takeout orders

I have ordered from here a few times now and every single time it has been piping hot . And the food is PHENOMENAL! I can imagine with consistency in the quality the service is probably just as good in person !

I really like a couple of the items, but the red chili wasn't my favorite. I liked the horchata. It was delicious. It had coconut flakes and strawberries. Trio enchiladas and salad were delicious. The salsas were great too.

This place is legit. Excellent food, and the salsa bar is always on point too. Everything I’ve tried here has been great. The al pastor burrito is my favorite. Definitely check this place out.

Updating my review since it's been a few years and I've been back many times since the last one. The horchata is still a favorite and they've made some changes to the menu, including making the digital version MUCH more legible (I've got "old man eyes," but the font and color scheme now is significantly easier to read than it was before) The Mole Poblano is consistently fantastic and service was fast and friendly. While it is never really crowded when we've been there, it does seem to keep busy, including a good amount of take-out business. The salsas at the bar are flavorful and offer a good variety of tastes and spice levels.

Finally got to try Sol Azteca. It's small. I bought the two enchilada combo with rice and beans. It was brought to my table quickly. They have a salsa bar but I wasn't given any chips. I found out chips were extra. Food was fine. I had enchiladas two weeks earlier at Casa Corazon and those were better. Docked one star for having to pay for chips.

The meat in the Tampiqueña and Molcajetito was inedible since it was so tough. Presentation looks good but not good. The 3 enchilada's and the Carlota de Limon were all very delicious. The salsa's were ok, I've had better. We were disappointed since the reviews were so high.

Years later I still absolutely love this place and still order the same things! But I will say there pumpkin spice horchata was not that great this last season.

I enjoyed the Fiesta Salad with Shrimp. The shrimp was exceptionally flavorful and the salad was crisp. There were three of us dining and one of the entrees was delayed. I appreciated the 15% veteran's discount. 3 stars for ambiance, 5 stars for food, and 4 stars for service.

Ok so this place needs some Ambiance , but this is one of the best places to stop for Mexican food!!! The food and service was excellent. If we lived here we would be dining very frequently.

I stumbled upon this place when I was actually headed to another restaurant and saw this place on yelp and changed my direction. I had a coworker meet me here and it was definitely worth the switch up. You order at the counter, great for lunch because everything comes out very quickly and is very fresh. I was super pleased with the salad and the crispy shell was amazingly perfect. My friend ordered the quesadilla they recommended. It was really large, probably shareable. The tortilla it came in was better than standard and so perfect. They also have a salsa bar, which I planned to try and didn't need it because the flavors were so on point.

Great little neighborhood Resturaunt in Albertsons strip mall. We love their oversized Chimichangas. Lots of menu choices. Typically crowded at lunch hour, seating can be a challenge. Rated 4 for ambiance. It's their great food we fans go for!

The people here are so kind, the place is clean, and the food is tasty! The corn quesadilla with grilled chicken, the tamales, and the hard corn tortilla tacos are just a few favorites.

My mom and I were wanting to try somewhere new for lunch and Mexican is our favorite so after a quick Yelp search of the area, we landed on Sol Azteca. We had gone around 11:30am and the restaurant was definitely busy. You order at the counter and they bring your food out to you, so we did just that. My mom went with two enchilada plate (one chicken tinga & one cheese) with red and green sauces. I decided on the black bean bowl with chicken tinga. The enchiladas were good, I snagged a couple of bites and both the red and green sauces were nice. The bowl was a bit bland, it had sour cream but probably needed some sort of dressing to mix in. The best part was that they have a salsa bar. We actually ordered a side of chips so we could enjoy that. Overall, a restaurant I'd consider going to is if I was in the area and wanting some chips and salsa. But otherwise, not sure this one drew me in enough to drive out of my way to eat at.

We ordered from DoorDash and were blown away by the quality and taste of this food. I can't speak to ambiance since I didn't go into the restaurant, but the service was so fast. We ordered the carne asada huarache and the queso with chips. Both were gone before I could even think to take pics. The carne asada was chunks of beef pulled from steak versus the little dry clumps you sometimes risk getting. It was moist, flavorful, and absolutely drool-worthy. The queso was delicious with a little kick at the end. I could eat here every day!

Great food. I had the best taquitos I've ever had and my wife's tamales were very good.

We enjoy eating inside and outside, and the restaurant is clean and has a great buzz about it. I love it there, in my opinion, this is my favorite style of Mexican cuisine.

Solid spot for authentic Mexican food in south east Mesa. I've been here a few times and the food has always been good. I like that they offer unique options that you don't see everywhere like sopes and huaraches which are more typical of the central and south regions of Mexico. This time around I tried the tapiquena which was tasty and very filling. Their horchata is one of the best in town and I highly recommend it. The place itself it's unassuming and casual. You order at the counter and the food gets taken to your table. I think it's very fairly priced. They don't sell alcohol if that is something you are looking for.

Booth street and fried tacos were very good. Service was fast and friendly. The condiment bar was an added plus. I had the mole sauce dish and it was mediocre.

Their New Enmoladas are delicious! Look at my To-Go plate. Their mole has a subtle heat, enough to taste all the other flavors in it. The texture makes me think that it's made in house, it doesn't taste as any commercial brand nor doctored from any of them. Try them in case they're seasonal, you don't want to miss them. I love the food here so much that I will either come to the restaurant, as I did this trip, or have it delivered via Door Dash on occasion. Either way I love the food and my favorite entree is the Enchilada Trio. Mmmmm Mmmmm Good!!! I highly recommend them! They have a delicious salsa bar and I love the avocado salsa the very best! They also have lime wedges and jalapenos for your tacos and such as well. They have a soda fountain that serves Coke products and you know how high that scores with me, the Coke Zero princess :) They also have very delicious Iced tea if you don't want soda. They also have Horchata. The only drawback I saw was the floor was in dire need of sweeping and a couple tables needing wiped and prepped for the next diners but otherwise all good.

These guys are awesome! They always do a great job and they are always so nice. I always get the sol azteca burrito and make it chimichanga style and it's always really really good! And their Horchata is super good!

We were greeted with smiles from staff. Excellent customer service. Delicious options on the menu. The horchata and the Sandia are delicious. The chimichanga I had was perfection. Casual dining atmosphere and staff takes care of dirty plates. Will definitely be back to try more from the menu.

I recently ordered from here for the first time a few weeks ago. I have to say I'm very impressed with their food. I've only had a few items from their menu, but what I've ordered so far is so good. My two favorites are their rolled tacos with guacamole and their Grande Taco with carnitas. Both of those items are so good, much better than other Mexican restaurants that I've been to. I've only ordered delivery, but plan to visit the restaurant soon.

FINALLY found a good Mexican restaurant near Queen Creek. This has taken years for me to uncover this. Food was hot and salsa was tasty. My husband's Carne Asada burrito had so much flavor he didn't have to use any salsa - unheard of in almost all of AZ. Very reasonably priced. Workers are kind but don't expect table service. This is more of a taqueria style restaurant. This is our new go-to place. I had a carne asada quesadilla. We also shared a red sauce cheese enchilada/crispy shredded beef taco plate with rice and beans. We wanted to try a bit of everything. All of it was great!

This is one of my fav places to eat. The ambiance is bright with great music. The food never disappoints. Been coming here for four years and the flavor is always there. The service is very friendly, fast, and overall exceptional.

Like others have said, not sure why this place has such high reviews. The salsas in the salsa bar are flavorless, the fajitas lack onion and the peppers are severely undercooked. The Arizona burrito is filled with a beef that resembles stewed beef, not carne asada. This place is NOT remarkable, which leads me to believe a majority of the 5 star reviews are plants.

I'm giving this 5 stars for what it is--a step above a hole-in-the-wall with great flavors and super tender meat. I had asada and carnitas street tacos and Brett had pollo con queso. The horchata had flecks of coconut, which wasn't my favorite, but that's just me. I think we found our new go-to Mexican place.

We had the crispy shredded beef tacos with rice and beans. All very good. The salsa bar was ok. If I could be picky about anything it would be improving the heat and flavor of the sauces/salsa. Again - nit picky. Their beans and rice are amazing here. We will be back! Yum.

The food was absolutely phenomenal. I ordered a veggie fajita burrito enchilada style, and it was bursting with flavor. I also got a side of queso to pour over my rice and beans, which were already tasty on their own but even better with the queso. Service was great! While the atmosphere is a bit plain, the food definitely makes up for it. I'll definitely be coming back!

This is a strip mall gem of a restaurant locally owned, and some of the best Mexican cuisine you'll ever taste. It's small, about 10 tables, with a nice local diner vibe. It's always busy, and for good reason. I was craving the molcajetito, which comes in a sizzling pot of pure joy; chorizo, carne asada, chicken, fish, onion and cactus, served with rice, beans and tortillas. Bring your appetite, it's a very large portion. My girlfriend had the creamy mushroom plate with shrimp, fish, beans, rice and tortillas. No chain restaurant beans and rice here, they're fresh and delicious. Both dishes were tasty and perfect. The service is very friendly, the tables are cleaned quickly, and there's a nice variety of goodies on the salsa bar. No matter how long a drive it might be for you, pass by all your favorite chain restaurants and make the trip to Sol Azteca. You'll be glad you did.

We group order here often for work. These are large orders and the take out is accurate. That is a big problem ordering out usually! Prices are decent also. Try it out! We sure will, this place makes for some happy nurses!

Went there foe taco tuesday. The place was nice and clean. Tried to order the carne asadas for taco tuesday, but no deal. They were regular price plus an extra dollar still? Think it could have been taco tuesdayb price4 plus a dollar, so was a bit dissapointed. But I ordered the Shredded beef tacos with rice and black beans. They all were good.

We went about 5:30pm on a Wednesday and the place was busy, they were so quick at taking orders. Orders came fairly quickly and the portions were plentiful. I had the enchiladas and they were perfect! My husband had the steak street tacos and he was very pleased. They say eat where the locals are... so true for this place, lots of locals and take out orders. I will come back again! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

This place may seem small but it is very good!! The Chicken Tortilla is a must try but it's only around during winter. They are always quick and the food is always fresh. If you are in this area give it a try.

My wife and I have made it a bit of a tradition to dine here every other week, especially on our days off without the kids. In these times of rising prices, it's refreshing to find a place that still offers great value for money, and this restaurant hits the mark perfectly. On our recent visit, we both opted for the chimichangas from the lunch specials, and they were a delight. The chimichangas were generously filled with shredded beef - a pleasant change from other places that tend to bulk up the filling with beans. Here, the beans are rightly served on the side, along with rice. And let's not forget the guacamole topping - just the right touch! Drink too! On a previous visit, I tried their quesadilla, which was notably unique. The use of a fresh corn tortilla made it a standout dish. It's these little touches that make each meal here memorable. Really I haven't had anything that I disliked here. For us, supporting small businesses is important, but it's a bonus when the food is not only delicious but also reasonably priced. This place ticks all the boxes and has become our go-to spot for a guaranteed good meal. Highly recommend! Last Monday it was pretty busy around lunch! Word is getting out!

I love coming here because it's good but today was not the case I decided to try something new. That's being the huarache with carne asada. Well I was not happy with what I was given/ tasting. They do have a sign on the door about the avocados. But come on these avocados where more brown than green and I got 3 slivers of it on this huge huarache. The carne asada has definitely changed since the last time I've been there. I would also recommend that they switch to fresh lettuce because this bagged lettuce just makes the whole meal gross tasting I got so much lettuce it took away from the whole meal. We also got chips and salsa. I want to say every time I've ordered it, it's been red salsa and today we got green for some reason. My daughter got the sopes and she enjoyed them The horchata was tasty as always The staff was nice and friendly I should have checked my food before leaving though.

I finally found a Mexican restaurant that understands the cheese inside the cheese enchiladas should be melted. The crew is super welcoming and friendly. It's super clean and it's my new go to spot for enchiladas. Unfortunately for some of you that are looking for a more detailed review on other food, that's all I got.

I've lived in AZ since I was 7, so I've tried a ton of Mexican food. This place is currently #1 in my book. Everything is always piping hot, the service is great, and you can tell everything is made in house. We just moved to the area and ate here 4 times in one week because it's that amazing. Every single dish has so much flavor. I love that eventhough it's a small spot they give you the sit down experience with real plates and nice silverware that isn't dollar store crap. They also bring you your food. Their desserts are phenomenal too. Try the Carlota de limon!

We've been here a few times and it's been great each time! Portions are nice and the guacamole is amazing. We went on a Saturday this time and the wait was a little long for to-go but that's usually a good sign to me. We didn't eat inside, most of our orders have been to-go, but it's at an easy-to-find location on the left corner of the Albertsons area right by the SodaRush. Overall a good experience and I'll definitely recommend to others!

I found this place here on yelp while looking for a spot close to home for a good tampiqueña. It had good reviews so we thought we would give it a try. Boy I am glad we did!! At first glance it looked a little more like one of the many "Berto's" across the valley. Don't let the looks deceive you though. The food was excellent and on par with almost any other high end Mexican restaurant. I ordered the tampiqueña and I wasn't disappointed. The meat was tender and flavorful and the enchilada was super tasty as well. I ordered corn tortillas with my meal and they were soft fluffy and tasted amazing. If I had to guess I would say they were homemade. My wife got the taco salad with grilled chicken which came in a fried flour shell. It did not disappoint!!!! Hands down the best taco salad I have had in a very long time and maybe even ever. This will definitely be a place we go to again and again. Great job on the food and the presentation of it and great job by the folks that worked there. They were friendly and couldn't have been more helpful.
