Sol e Luna

This is a very charming and secluded boutique type hotel reminiscent of a place one could stay at in the French countryside. It has a very romantic feel to it and it only has six rooms or suites. The beautiful stonework, the fourposter bed, the private balcony all give it a very charming and romantic feel. We were only there for two nights so I did not mind the location. However, you have to drive to the beach and the view from the balcony is nothing special. The restaurant is wonderful and the food excellent. They even remembered it was my birthday and celebrated it with me! The service here is fantastic, the people are very friendly and welcoming. The only problem I really had was the shower starts out strong, and then is reduced to a trickle after a few minutes. By the time the water warms up it is down to a trickle. There’s also some construction going on nearby as the island is still recovering. Other than that we loved our stay here.

This hotel/restaurant is a hidden gem! The hotels and room are clean, fully equipped and have eclectic interior design in each room. Very unique, enchanting and quaint feel throughout. Staff along with owner/director is very ‘hands on’ in making sure you are comfortable. The food is top notch French gourmet as people seem to come from all over to dine there in the evening. Can’t say enough good things about this enchanting experience. Highly recommend you to stay or at least fine dine here!

We love this restaurant. The atmosphere is lovely and the staff is great. Our waitress was Jennifer, she was very friendly and took very good care of us.||We had the Seafood Pasta and the Veal Chop Special. Both were absolutely delicious. We also enjoyed their drink special, the Champagne Mojito, it is a must!!||This is one of our favorite restaurants on the Island. Beautiful restaurant! The ambiance is very romantic, when you enter the restaurant there are two small pools on each side of a bridge and the lighting is excellent! The food was great, we ordered a lobster bisque and seafood pasta along with some wine and a creme brûlée. The service was outstanding. The owner greeted us and gave us two free glasses of champagne. He made sure we had a table with a great view and the service was impeccable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant as your last night romantic dinner!

Sol E Luna was exactly what we were looking for on our honeymoon. Quiet, relaxing, private and romantic. We went to Saint Martin during the off season so we knew it wasn’t going to be busy, but we had the whole place to ourselves for the majority of our stay. Katya was amazing, along with the rest of the staff! Our room was cleaned whenever we needed it, fresh towels always ready. We had breakfast most mornings at the hotel. Dinner was amazing! Everyone went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. I would highly recommend staying at Sol E Luna if you want an authentic Saint Martin locale experience. It’s about 20 minutes from the Dutch side, where there is more of a tourist presence.

We spent 3 nights at Sol e Luna and were made to feel very welcome by Fred and his great staff. A beautiful property, especially so a night when the gardens and pathways are lit up...very classy/ sexy feel to the place. Great location with only minutes to Orient, Grand Case , or Anse Marcel.We stayed in suite Canelle, a great room, with balcony and views o the mountains and lake. Excellent daily breakfast included and the room was immaculate each day. Great place for a couples vacation. Enjoy the saltwater pool, its warm and has sun most of the day.

Stayed here for a couple of nights in Early Feb 2020. The hotel is really nothing more than a few rooms up above the restaurant, which is fine, but quite a ways to lug heavy luggage up steep cut stone stairs. Also, the room felt quite small, and the water pressure was basically non-existent. It was clean, and a fine place to stay, but given that we don't speak french, and the nightly cost, it wasn't for us. ||||As for the restaurant, It felt stuffy and overpriced. Again, we felt overlooked since we didnt speak french. The desert was very good, but I wouldn't eat there again for dinner.

Have eaten here twice a couple years apart. It is a lovely place and the staff are super nice. It's frustrating because the restaurant does many things really well. But it may be the most expensive restaurant on the island is utterly fails to deliver what the setting and prices promise. Both times we've been, we've left angry and unhappy with the experience. A lobster and shrimp ravioli dish with was lovely,, but was $45 and had 1 tablespoon of lobster and 1 tablespoons of shrimp. A desert order didn't show up for more than 30 minutes and one of 3 items failed to make it to the table but WAS on the bill. And this with only 5 tables seated. There is a 500% markup on the wines (a Brouilly that is 30 euro retail at le gout de vin tin Marigot is 105 euro), but there are some reasonable prices for per glass wines and the bar and cocktails are good. I know that it is possible to deliver a top notch dining experience at a premium price on St. Martin and many less expensive restaurants do so. It feels like a chef that is trying to deliver art, but doesn't know how to get food onto tables for more than 4 people at a time.
