8 Beautiful Villas in Menorca, the Baleariac's Quiet Hideout | Condé Nast Traveler

"Spread across two floors, this whitewashed escape welcomes with cute nautical‑themed interiors and a light, breezy ambience, but its star is the large sea‑facing terrace where the sky cycles from marigold to amethyst over endless crinkled waters. You can reach those waters quickly—Son Bou Beach is only a 10‑minute walk—and local eateries and watering holes are just as accessible, making for an easygoing stay where days plan themselves. The pool shares calming views of the seascape, so you can unwind in the water while watching it, too." - Toyo Odetunde

The hotel is formed of two separate but similar blocks, milanos and penguinos, the reception and bar is in milanos so it is busier, they are about 50m apart. There are approximately 550 roms in total.|There is daily programme of entertainment and it is a lively place. |The room I stayed in was on the 3rd floor with a great view of the sea and nearby cliffs. The room has a small balcony with clothes hanger table and chairs. The interior has bedroom and separate bathroom, with an estimated floor area of 18 sq metres. All the appliances including the air conditioning worked, however I could not get english speaking TV.|Nearly all the rooms have a sea view to the west or east.|Breakfast was a buffet with plenty of variety, hot or cold or both, coffee and fruit juice machines, and I could have as much as wanted. Some of the food warmers are better than others.|The staff were pleasant and the hotel is kept clean. I think it is over 50 years old and seems to be faring well.|The pool, bar and communal areas have a spacious feel and there are comfortable sofas to sit on. The background music played in the reception I found to be too loud.|There are some extra costs, tourist tax is €3.30, the room safe is €3, and there is no kettle in the room, but they can be hired for €3. All these are daily rates. Only tourist tax being compulsory.|I have enjoyed my stay here and would come again. I paid roughly £70 per night and consider it value for money.

From the moment I arrived Maria on the front desk and Javier made my stay very welcoming. I got my early check in as requested and was up graded to a family room which I was appreciated of. The room, shower lovely, the balcony great and lovely sun from 5pm. Air con and fans great as I suffer with my menapause and was not hot. Bed was comfy but very squeeky, the cleaners were lovely abd friendly. For me the room could be updated with some paint and maybe a little more smarter for a Melia but I am not complaining in any way just some suggestions. Last night upstairs were moving furniture until 2am which was not good but I am leaving today, Breakfast ok, but I am very fussy anyways but seemed a good selection and cater for everyone. Lovely beach, some tasty restaurants near by and shops, generally I will definately be recommended this hotel to my clients. For what I paid for this hotel, nothing to be negative with. Thank you to you and your team for making my stay a pleasure.

WARNING: COCKROCHES IN THE HOTEL ROOM My experience at this hotel was far below acceptable standards, particularly in terms of hygiene and the way a serious situation was handled by the staff. On the second night of our stay, at around 3am, I discovered a COCKROACH in the room. I immediately contacted reception, only to be told that they could not help at that moment because the staff member on duty was alone. I was even told to deal with the issue myself. After insisting, someone eventually came with insect spray, treated the room, and then suggested we sleep there anyway, despite the strong chemical smell and the obvious discomfort caused by the situation. We refused and had to change rooms in the middle of the night. Even in the new room, we did not feel safe or comfortable after what had happened. The following morning, we chose to end our stay early and requested a refund for the following night, which had already been paid for and which we would no longer be using. The management's response was simply: “It’s normal to have cockroaches. Luckily, it’s not their season.” In my view, cockroaches in a hotel room are never normal. This is a hygiene and public health issue that should be taken seriously — and it’s clear that no proper prevention measures are in place. The way the situation was downplayed, combined with the refusal to issue a refund, shows a clear lack of professionalism and respect for guests. For these reasons, I do not recommend this hotel. If you value cleanliness, safety, and responsible customer service, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere.

We are home from another great holiday at the Sol Milanos/Pinguinos. We have stayed many times & this was our 2nd visit this year. It goes without saying that we love it. The location & the staff are wonderful. They are friendly & nothing is too much trouble. We opted for a frontal sea view room this time & we were pleasantly impressed with the little extras that were supplied. Tea/coffee tray, dressing gowns, flip flops, bag & a walk in rain shower. We were on the 11th floor with stunning views as always. Our room was looked after by the lovely Elena, who actually remembered us from a previous visit 🥰. The hotel is very clean, the rooms are spotless & the beds are comfy. We only did bed & breakfast & there was plenty to eat on the buffet. The pools are great & you have direct access to the beautiful Son Bou beach which is amazing! If I had to make a negative comment it would be about the sunbeds, they are old & worn. It would be nice to see them updated. The Sol Milanos/Pinguinos is sn excellent 3 star hotel.

This was our sixth visit to Menorca and have normally stayed in four or five star hotels but circumstances have changed and a bit of a medical issue caused a rethink. Jet2 holidays were very helpful and generous in rebooking our holiday. I read the previous reviews and arrived with no great expectations. How wrong was I! We arrived at midday and expected to be told to go away and return later but was checked in with a very friendly member of the reception team and advised that our room was ready and as we chose the all-inclusive option the dining room would open at 1.00pm. Following an excellent meal with lots of choices we were on the beach right outside the hotel by 2.00pm.|Room size was typical of the Balearics and was clean and well equipped. Most of the rooms have an excellent sea view with a good size balcony.|The restaurant has a great choice of food and is in two parts, if something runs out chances are you will get it in the other part as they are both connected. The service was excellent with friendly staff, drinks are served in normal glasses. We were almost put off by talk of plastics glasses and tokens but this is for the pool bar and works really well and is not your usual festival plastic but good quality melamine. They also make excellent coffee here [thanks Esther]|So to sum up, the hotel is great, staff and food excellent, location is amazing and yes I would return and have already booked for 2026.

Menorca is very clean, green, safe and friendly.|We stayed at this hotel our 1st time in Menorca.|It's a large hotel right on the beach, rooms are very small, we payed an extra £350 upon arrival to change to a family room. Much better, large balcony and more space to move. Lovely location as on the beach, and a lovely clean sandy beach, the sea was very warm even October. The area is a very quiet area, regular buses 🚌 and taxis available easily.|The staff are very friendly helpful and efficient. |The variety of food is vast something for everyone, every meal time, restaurant very noisy but it is very big.|The weather has been pretty good our last day is very cloudy and windy but not cold, as its October a Cardigan is needed for evenings.|The area seemed quite quiet but not sure if some shops have shut for the winter. There is a good selection of restaurants in close proximity. |I would definitely come back, maybe a bit earlier in the year, and I would highly recommend for families, it all seems very safe.|Ps the rooms are small basic rooms, NO kitchenette in them, just bedroom and bathroom, you can hire kettle and cups €3 per day. Good towels are supplied in room and pool, |It is a very quiet area maybe a bit quiet for me, hence I would come back earlier in year.|There are 11 floors so if you don't like heights ask for a lower floor.|We booked via British Airways and it was VERY cheap and gvfm as all inc.

Arrived at the hotel early, the room wasn't ready but we were able to leave our bags so we could explore the area for a while. Check in was good and the facilities were explained clearly. The room was clean and well equipped with plenty of hanging space, storage, a TV, fridge, air con/heating and an enormous bed! The balcony overlooked the pool area and the most stunning view of Son Bou beach and crystal clear water. We were on the third floor, right at the end of the corridor which some days felt like a trek as it was a long walk to the lift 😂|We had a 7 night stay on half board which left us the freedom to explore the island on the couple of days when the weather wasn't at its best.|Most of the time we spent on the beach as it was so easily accessible (well, why wouldn't you) Loungers on the beach were an extra cost.|The food at the hotel was great. Freshly made pizza, pasta and soups. Freshly cooked fish, even lobster one night, and a great variety of meats both hot and cold. Local cheeses, fresh fruit and plenty of choice for dessert. The dining room does get a little busy but if you go early enough it's not an issue. There are 5 lifts in the hotel but you may be waiting a while for one during meal times as the dining room is on the first floor and they are in demand. There is also a buffet laid out in the bar for all inclusive guests from 10am till 7pm.|I cannot speak highly enough of the hardworking staff! Nothing was too much trouble, everything done with a smile and they were all extremely helpful. The hotel was always spotless and our room was well serviced every day (sorry about the sand) The dining room staff were so efficient, making sure the tables were cleared and cleaned ready for more diners and the food was always well stocked on the buffets. |Honestly, I would 100 % recommend the hotel and the resort. I haven't got a single bad thing to say. Ignore the bad reviews and try it. You won't be disappointed

Our second visit to this lovely hotel as we also visited in June this year too! Stayed in the Pinguinos in June and Milanos this time and both were really lovely. Rooms cleaned every day and staff all very friendly. Food was lovely and plenty to choose from. This time our room on the 6th floor facing the pool and sea gave us the chance to see some amazing sunsets! A stones throw from the beach and some lovely restaurants nearby. A really relaxing week and we will be back for sure! Thank you Sol Milanos Pinguinos 😁😁😁 See you again soon!

Yelp
This is a vedy specific place. If you're a family with going children, it's a prime hotel with lots of activities, clubs and entertainment. Nor really for solo holidays, couples or adults only if you ask me. It's nice because there are 2 pools and the beach is meer steps away. The pool spin class is fun too. The food like most these places is repetitive. Pretty standard.
