Sol Rides

So fun!! Me, my husband and 16 yo daughter did this over Memorial Day weekend. We took the twin tunnels trail to Mosier and Idiot’s Grace winery where we had a cheese board and white wine (my daughter had a La Croix). The pedal assist is a game changer! We just want to enjoy the scenery without sweating and being out of breath. What an amazing experience and the views are top notch! It was also such a windy day, but the pedal assist made it great as we headed back from Mosier into the wind.

What a fantastic tour of this area of Oregon last week. We absolutely loved our knowledgeable guides and first time Ebike experience. I was very intimidated initially about the size of my bike but with the guidance and support of the guides I quickly found my bike stride. Highly recommend this company for giving the history of the area and a unique perspective of Hood River to enhance our visit. We even meet some nice local people on the tour celebrating a Big Birthday Cheers Dave!

Wow!!! Had the best time today on the bike tour. The customer service was outstanding. The owner, Charlie, was friendly and thorough when I called to book. We did the Mount Hood Majesty tour. We arrived and were greeted in the parking lot. The ride was SO fun! They took care of us and had special surprises at every stop. Special shoutout to our guide Hoppy!!! He was the best. Took care of us and was so fun and informative. Definitely recommend!

Wonderful ride, highly recommended. Our guides were great and knew the area and history well. They kept us safe and the ebikes were top quality. I want to come back and do it again!

Hello, I recommend this e-bike adventure. Sol Rides has excellent customer service! I also recommend watching the you tube video they ask you to watch beforehand. Very informative. I believe the half day (four hours will suffice for most folks). Be sure your battery pack is at 100 percent before you jet off. I asked if they give a second battery for a whole day but they don’t. Most folks are stop and go as they cruise around and was informed that one battery would last a whole day rental. After four hours, I was still at 35 percent and we biked out past Garnier Vineyards. What are you waiting for? Book your bike! I also parked in the Mount hood railroad lot. I was able to pay up front to park for 6 hours ($5.75). You just scan the QR code in the spot you’re parked in.

Absolutely loved Sol Rides! The people there are just the sweetest so welcoming and kind from the very start. One of my friends had an issue with their bike, and the team handled it so fast they brought a new one within 30 minutes! It was honestly so impressive and thoughtful. Rented two e-bikes and rode up to Rowena Crest and back (about 27 miles round trip). Very scenic ride up the gorge, through the tunnels, through Mosier, past wineries and more! My bike had a phone holder so we were able to follow a route we got from Sol Rides. Some parts of the route were car-free but even the sections with cars were okay - speed limit was low and sometimes a bike lane. Overall, didn’t feel concerned with the car traffic. Would 10/10 rent from here again and maybe do the fruit loop next time!

We had a wonderful time on the Two Tunnels Trail. Cindy was very helpful since this was our first experience with E-bikes. The scenery didn't disappoint as we curved around lookouts while enjoying the natural landscape on our pedal assist adventure. 8.5/10!

Scam artists disguised as rental bike shop This place charged my group an egregious and inconsistent late fee, totaling nearly $500, for something they failed to communicate to us. We rented our bikes for a full day with a pick up of 11am. Despite the woman having nearly 30 minutes to explain our bikes to us, she never once mentioned we had to be back by 5pm (nor did our confirmation email or waiver). Instead, they're relied on a small sign inside the shop to communicate that important detail. Once we received a call alerting us we were "late," we rushed back--causing two friends to suffer a crash. Even during that call, the woman failed to mention this late fee. Before posting this review, I emailed the business twice trying to come to a resolution but was ignored. What a disappointing experience. If you plan to rent from them and run into any issues that cause you to be late, take your sweet time getting back. Grab some coffee. Take some selfies. Get a bite to eat. Because their late fee is nearly the cost of another full day rental. Better yet, save your money and find a business with an actual so(u)l.

Perfectly phenomenal and phenomenally perfect! Ian is the best! We got a 4 hr self guided bike ride on Tuesday 12-4pm (when a bunch of things are closed) and still got to see Mt. Hood winery, Packers Farm (the baby goats!!!!!!), Smiley Red Barn and the Foxtail Cidery! 110% recommend! You will not be disappointed!!!! git some!!!!

We couldn't be more impressed with Sol Rides from beginning to end. I called and reserved 6 bikes. Charlie called me back immediately to let me know that the fires had shut down one of the main routes, which didn't matter to us but was so nice and transparent of him to proactively let us know. I really appreciated that level of service and communication. My reservation was quickly confirmed by email and text. I got a great text reminder the day before our ride. And when we showed up, Charlie was absolutely wonderful in getting us suited-up, trained and on the road in no time. The bikes were SO easy and fun to ride. We did a 1/2 day ride and used every minute of that time. If you want to rent e-bikes, there's no better place than Sol Rides. Amazing equipment and outstanding service!

So the first outing on a E-Bike. Took a ride up to Mosier then to a cherry farm. Picked some amazing cherries. What a great adventure. Would highly recommend checking out e- bikes. The owner was extremely helpful. Thank you!

This e-bike tour was so much fun! We did it as a family group of 5 of us, and we all had an absolute blast! The bikes are very cool and easy to operate, even up a couple of pretty steep hills we had no problems. We toured the old gorge highway & tunnels, and then went to a couple of wineries. Lunch was provided for us, which was from a local bakery and was delicious. Our 2 guides were very knowledgeable, helpful and a pleasure to spend time with. Would highly recommend these guys.

Charlie was the absolute best! Our group of four was able to join him for the Mount Hood Majesty Tour and it does not disappoint. The bikes are so fun to ride, we felt safe the whole time and Charlie made sure we had so much fun. He detailed the history of Mount Hood and the Colombia River Gorge. We stopped at three great wineries and enjoyed some delicious sandwiches and snacks he brought for us. I'd highly recommend that anyone who visits the area, whether you're a first timer or return guest, join Charlie for one of his E-bike tours!

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!! absolutely terrible customer service. the bikes were in horrendous condition, it not only broke down while riding but when i called the business (owner answered) he was absolutely rude and didn't help us out at all. we ended up having to walk our bikes back 2 miles and then found out he called the tow truck on us.. there's plenty of other options in town, don't waste your money here

All employees were very knowledgeable of the area and gave great history lessons on the landscape and history of Columbia River. They did amazing with creating us a custom route and enjoyed every minute of the tours and wine tastings. Thank you to Sol Rides for giving us a great adventure.

They were the best!!! Highly recommend. I'm not a really good bike rider but their guides made you feel safe and never pressured.

This place is absolutely amazing. Charlie is the most relaxed and educating guide. He keeps the entire trip fun and exciting, while always keeping his guests safe and comfortable regardless of their level as a cyclist. We had a blast heading out to Mosier and can't recommend his spot enough!

We just finished a terrific bike ride on the E bikes led by our guide, Charlie. A beautiful way to enjoy the Oregon Columbia coast line and the hills. The guide gave us a lot of geological and local information and took us to a beautiful waterfalls known by the locals, where we could dip our feet in the pool. Also went up to some beautiful Vineyards and cherry tree farms. Much of the road was bicycles only, making it a lot more relaxed without having to be on guard for cars. A great Oregon experience!

Amazing experience. We rode to Mosier to a winery and cherry picking. The main trail did not have any vehicles. Beautiful views. The bikes are easy to ride and just power you up the trail. Wish the age limit wasn't 16yrs old because my kids would have loved it.

I was visiting Hood River for some kiting and found that it is incredibly charming but a bit difficult to navigate if you come in without a car. Sol bikes is right in town and has a fleet of wonderfully easy & comfortable e-bikes to really be able to experience more than just the waterfront. Charlie is really helpful and it made the few days there so much better!

This tour did not disappoint. I recently did the Twin Tunnels and Beyond tour. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking. I'm new to using an E-Bike. What an absolute game changer. Our guide Reenie was extremely fun and knowledgable. The path is closed to automobiles and is really well maintained. i'll do this tour again for sure next time I'm in Hood River. I highly recommend this tour and be sure to ask for Reenie.

Rented a couple pedal assist bikes while in Hood River. I bicycle but my husband does not, and this could not have worked out better. The owner was helpful with a little instruction and some set-up and had excellent suggestions for riding. The ride was beautiful and the pedal assist system was great--we got exercise but hills were not horrible. I highly recommend Sol Rides for bike rental if you are in Hood River.

We loved our ebike tour with Sol Rides. We lucked out and had Charlie all to ourselves! He was very knowledgeable and informative about the gorge and surrounding areas. He was also super sweet and entertaining. He gave us sweet cherries picked from his own yard!! The ebikes were fantastic and made the hilly ride a cinch. To quote my husband, "these bikes are freakin awesome!" Do yourself a favor and see the gorge from an ebike from Sol Rides!

If you plan to be in the Columbia River Gorge don't miss the chance to see it from the seat of an eBike! My wife and I reached out to Sol Rides hoping to pull together a last minute tour before we left the Gorge area. They were super responsive and helped us book a small private tour on the morning of Memorial Day! Although it has been years since either of us were on a bicycle, the tour was fantastic. The electric assist " Happy Go Button" really smooths out the hills and makes the ride near effortless. We enjoyed the ride along the scenic highway (no cars and great views) and the visit to a local orchard and winery (Idiot's Grace). Charlie was the perfect guide, offering that delicate balance of local insight and good natured banter. We would highly recommend SOL Rides and will most certainly tour with them again!

The ride to Mosier was absolutely gorgeous! There was good instruction on how to ride the ebikes, as it was our first time riding. The ebikes made the ride do-able for us, where all the hills would have made it prohibitive on our regular bikes! An experience we will remember for a long time!
