The store is like a museum! If you liked the portugese azulejos on buildings all around the city, you’ll love this antique store. I wish I had the money to get a big panel of tiles but they sell single tiles as well. Even just to look, the tiles are amazing and they’re categorized very well according to their ages and quality.

Amazing shop with antique tiles from Lisbon and the Portugal. The owner is well prepared and so kind to explain many things around the shop and the tiles. You can find tiles back to 16th centuries. It is a must shop in Lisbon if you are looking for something special and unique.

So many wonderful tiles from over 3 centuries, absolutely the place to get ideas and resource hard to find or unique Portuguese one of a kind tiles. It is worth the time just to look around and then incorporate the ideas in your new remodel, build, or just to admire.

My partner and I purchased a larger piece from Solar antiques while on our honeymoon. The process was smooth, easy & stress free. We had it shipped to california. It arrived safely, & was well packaged. Took about a month & a half for export documents to go through and ship the piece. Quite a store! Come and be amazed of the 1600-1900s tiles and decorations! Obviously pricey but worth a look, the owner is super nice too

If I gave this store one star the owner would probably thank me: they don't want visitors. I'm not even sure they want customers. I could afford to buy some of their beautiful, expensive items but the owner is too traumatized by Lisbon's current hoard of tourists, I suspect, to be able to welcome someone and try to make a sale. Fine. It's his business. I just wish the store were only open by appointment, which would have spared me an unpleasant experience.

If you are looking for old tiles, this is the place to be! We arrived 5 minutes before closing and they were very patient as I picked out the perfect 18th Century tile! I don't think my wallet could have handled me having more time in there....I would have bought them all!
