We stayed 4 nights at this place and we loved it. Place is very clean, located in a quiet but very safe street. Location was great, in the high part of Pelourinho, and just 5-6 minutes walking from elevator, very well located indeed. A police post is located just 20 metres from the Pousada (B&B), indeed, when police changes shift, they take a rest at this Pousada, so it cannot be safer. ||Rooms are spacious and well equipped with great bathrooms and well functioning air-con. Our room was on top floor and it even included a huge terrace just for yourselves. The staff is very friendly and the owner is almost always present and ready to help. Breakfast is great with a good and delicious range of buffet food plus omelettes and "tapiocas wraps" available to order and the cook will prepare it for you. We loved breakfast here.||We headed to Morro Sao Paulo for few days after here, and they offered themselves to keep our luggage for free as we had to come back to Salvador to fly out. It was very generous and convenient offer from them that eased a lot our boat trip to Morro do Sao Paulo. ||Please be aware that there is no lift as this is a pousada, but the staff can help you to take your luggage up to the room. After some caipirinhas you have to reach your room by yourself, they do not lift you :) ||Thanks to the staff of Pousada. We were very happy to stay here.

Stayed in this hotel for seven nights early January 2018. This is a small privately run Pousarda in the heart of the Pelohroni. It is located in a try safe side street off the main square - there is a police posting at the top of the small street. We arrived at about 8pm by taxi check in was fast and we were taken to our room by young man who carried out cases up all three flight of stairs and showed us to a lovely unique room at the top of building with a huge balcony looking over the town. All rooms are decorated in a unique and arty fashion|If you like standard rooms this place is not for you. At the time I had a mild ankle injury and when the owner saw me coming down the stairs immediately asked if we would like to move to the downstairs room which was becoming available later that day. The move was done by the staff and we were shown to a large ground floor room again uniquely decorated, very much welcomed. Breakfast is great all the usual Brazilian fair, but eggs available in all forms cooked by the owner and served beautifully. Lovely small Pousarda in the heart of historic part of the city. Would I stay here again. Yes.| | |

Stayed here for 2 nights. What I like about this place|1. Friendly and helpful owner|2. Centrally located at Pelo|3. Excellent breakfast spread|4. It is also an art gallery, and the place is well decorated with art pieces |5. The pousada has a charm with each room decorated with artwork and poem|6. Best of all, I love the old 'cuban/buena vista social club' jazz music that the owner plays at the restaurant||Be prepared to have ear plugs because there might have loud percussion or music from the bars nearby during the night.||I highly recommend this pousada||A Malaysian traveler

Mehhhhhh...the shower is great, the WiFi works perfectly well and the building is well adorned with interesting art and furniture but the rest is pretty crap. I’m only 6’ and my feet hung over the bed of which there was only a foot between that and the wall, I consistently hit my knees on the metal frame using the toilet in the night. don’t fall for the quiet room option, don’t be tempted by the low price and be cautious of the breakfast, there were ants crawling all over it, and the plates, and the tables too. It’s not an unpleasant place, it’s just not worth staying in. We didn’t eat there or try any of their food just based on that. they’d do better to promote it as a musical hub of pelourinho or as a quaint cheap place to crash - if you’re looking for an early night it’s not going to happen easily. It’s made to sound far more grand than it is.

This pousada does not have many rooms so make sure to book early. It is located 100m from the party streets so you will be able to enjoy a good sleep. It is carefully decorated with very nice and cozy taste. Rooms are large with very high roofs. The staff is very friendly. Breakfast is very good.

We were fortunate enough to find this gem of a place during our stay in Salvador in July. The owner and staff are extremely helpful and friendly, and the location is perfect if you are looking to be in close proximity to the wonderful bars and restaurants in Pelourinho. It's in a very safe area- I was able to walk around at night by myself and the streets are very well lit. ||||The walls in the pousada are adorned with charming pieces of artwork and the rooms are beautifully presented and maintained to a very high standard. I would highly recommend Solar das Artes Pousada!

The clean, small pousada is in a quiet street, which is its best point (no loud music,no crowd),with of course the budget price....(but a low price doesn’t always mean a bad service or a dirty place)The inside is much more ‘bohemian’ than ‘boutique’...meaning there are many old pieces ,but they should need a cleaning and some repairs to look less ‘trift shop||‘...nice little terrace with a view, good breakfast, but don’t trust when they tell you it is from 7,30.....at 8,30 things are still coming out of the kitchen and if you want eggs you have to ask to the not-too’much-smiling lady in charge....(some cakes are little older than others and the juice has too much water....) but the hotel is generally friendly.Avoid the room just at the back of the restaurant: it is large, but the window looks just on the common terrace and you are compelled to look who is outside to enjoy the view....and if a grout of young asian girls want to have a drink at 11pm,there could be a problem.....
