Solaria Nishitetsu Hotel Seoul Myeongdong

We picked this hotel for location - it’s right in the middle of the busiest part of Myeongdong with shopping and food just at the doorstep. There is no access by taxi and we were dropped off around 3mins from the hotel. Otherwise the Myeongdong subway station is a 5mins walk. The room was clean just as you would expect from a Japanese hotel chain. Size of room was reasonable and we got a view of the Myeongdong Cathedral which was nice. We loved the separate bath and toilet

Wonderful hotel located near Myeongdong train station and the shopping streets. Had a real variety for their breakfast buffet. It’s my first time seeing so many different coffee and tea choices at a hotel breakfast. I was seated by the window and had an amazing view of Seoul. The room itself was spotless with plenty of storage and a real cosy feel. The bathroom is very modern with high-tech toilet features. Hot shower and bath tub to the side. They really have everything! Hand towels, face cloths and body towel were all included. Will definitely stay here during my next visit!

I travelled with my wife and two children, and we had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The hotel is located right within the Myeongdong shopping street, which makes it extremely convenient to shop, return to the hotel to rest, and then head out again. One downside of the location is that, being situated inside the shopping street, taxis are only able to access the hotel early in the morning. However, this is well compensated by the fact that the airport limousine bus to Incheon Airport is just a 5-minute walk away on the main road and payment can be made using cash or T-money, which is very convenient. The room is not very spacious but also not too small, and it was comfortable for our family. One thoughtful design feature is a section of the window that can be slightly opened, allowing cold air to enter the room. This was especially useful during winter, as the centralised air-conditioning tends to provide warmer air. Personally, I preferred turning off the central air-conditioning and keeping the window slightly open to maintain a cooler room temperature. The bathtub is nice, and the shower has strong water pressure with sufficient hot water, even during winter. One aspect I did not particularly like was the dark-coloured décor, including the furniture and the corridor outside the room. It does not quite match a Muji-style aesthetic, which I personally prefer, as I like brighter rooms and surroundings. Hopefully, this is something the hotel can improve on in the future. The room cleanliness was acceptable, though not exceptional, as dark furniture tends to make dust and details more noticeable. One area that could definitely be improved is the lift. The lift carpet appeared poorly maintained and quite dirty, which negatively affected the overall impression of the hotel. Since the check-in lobby is on the 21st floor, guests rely heavily on the lift, and its condition plays an important role in shaping the hotel’s overall quality and image. One highlight of our stay was the breakfast, which was very good. Even though we stayed for 4 days and 3 nights, we did not get bored with the food selection. As this is a Japanese hotel chain, they also offered Japanese-style dishes, which we enjoyed. Overall, we are happy with our stay and would definitely consider staying here again when we visit Seoul in the future. We hope to see some improvements during our next visit. Great hotel. Stayed for four nights and no hiccups at all. They clean the room every other day which was fine. There's self laundry and it's smack in the middle of Myeongdong with excellent amenities and close to exit 8 of the train station.||Front desk Do Hui was excellent too in ensuring we had great stay from checking us in to providing directions!

The hotel is located right at the Myeongdong Main Street and is great in terms of convenience. We booked the Standard Twin and the room was clean and of a good size. The bathroom had a dry/clean configuration which was great. We did have a problem with the aircon as the room was too stuffy and warm, and even when we tried to change the room temp to 15C with high fan, the room registered 24C. When we complained the front desk told us to open the window however that didn’t help because you could only open a tiny gap. There were also no usb charging outlets in the room (we didn’t bring enough adapters). We tried the breakfast on the lobby floor and thoroughly enjoyed it. It got quite cold in Seoul for the few days of our stay and the hotel provided free hand warmers - that was a really nice touch

Excellent stay but what made it so good was Ami who was at the front desk. She was so helpful in showing me where to go and spending time with me to go through the logistics of getting to each location. She was so kind to find me also a charger for my phone and just a wonderful employee to have working for your hotel. She should be promoted to manager.

Excellent location for shops, restaurants, bars, and easy walk to subways. As a tourist this was ideal and easy to come back to during the daily activities! The hotel itself was clean and the staff always happy to help e.g booking taxi for the airport. Rooms are on the small side but clean and comfortable- bed and sofa. There was no noise from street level but we stayed during the refurbishment period and hammering started quite early. Aside from this it was a great stay.

In the heart of Myeongdong, this hotel has the best location. Despite the busy-ness in this area, we didn't hear any noise at all in our room on the 12th floor throughout the day and the night. The toilet/bidet inside the room is separate from the shower, so 2 people can do 2 things at the same time, which is a typical feature in Japanese room design. Breakfast is buffet style which has a good varety and is absolutely delicious.||I also love the service of their front desk. Their staff speaks 3 languages - English, Korean, Japanese. They are all very friendly and proactive in helping hotel guests. Dohui Kim is one of the staff who helped me call a local company to find out if they had a local physical shop to visit, and whether I can order their products online. Not only was Dohui very kind in jotting down all my questions and making the call for me when the company was open later that day, she also replied me through email before I went back to front desk in the afternoon.||The stay at this hotel has exceeded my expectation. I would love to come back to stay here again for my next visit to Seoul.
