Solea Mactan Resort

The room is spacious and clean. We stayed in 2nd floor and facing the backside of the hotel and it's not awesome view, I would recommend to pick the beach view room. The buffet is the best! We enjoyed most of their food and we love the ambiance. The servers are very polite and their lounge area is spacious and I am so impressed with their furniture. It's a kid friendly environment, so many pools to choose and you can unwind in the beach area. I highly recommend the place!

I stayed at Solea Mactan Resort for three days, and the experience was incredibly relaxing from start to finish. The resort has a calm, laid-back vibe that makes you feel like you are on a real break the moment you check in. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, always smiling, and quick to assist with anything we needed. The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable, with everything we needed for a stress-free stay. I especially loved waking up to the view — peaceful, refreshing, and the perfect way to start the day. The pools are definitely the highlight. There are plenty of them, each with a different vibe, so it never felt crowded. The lagoon, the slides, and the lounging areas made it easy to just spend the whole day relaxing without getting bored. The food was good too, especially the breakfast buffet, which had a nice variety. What I appreciated most was how family-friendly and quiet the place felt. Even with other guests around, the resort stayed clean, organized, and well maintained. It was easy to find pockets of peace where you could simply unwind. Overall, my 3-day stay was worth every moment. If you are looking for a place to relax, recharge, and enjoy good service, Solea Mactan Resort is definitely a great choice. I would happily come back.

We booked four Sea View rooms for our family. Unfortunately, the rooms we were given did not really offer a true sea view (see attached photo). We were located on the 2nd floor of the sea view building, but the view was quite limited. However, this building is convenient for families with children and senior citizens since it is close to the parking and pick-up area. Upon check-in, we noticed that the faucet water pressure was weak, and the hot shower was inconsistent and sometimes not working. Each building and floor is supposed to have a shared water dispenser, but in our building, all dispensers on every floor were not working and had no water. We informed the front desk, and they said they would notify housekeeping, but unfortunately, no water was refilled until our check-out day. We had to go to another building just to get drinking water. Additionally, the balcony light in our room was not working during our stay. The beach area is muddy, which may not be ideal for guests who are expecting a swimmable beachfront experience. On the positive side, the pool is perfect for kids, and our children truly enjoyed it. The breakfast buffet is very much worth it. All four rooms came with breakfast, and all eight adults were able to enjoy the buffet at no extra cost. The food and overall experience made it worthwhile. Just a tip: arrive early, as lines tend to get long between 7:00–8:00 AM. Overall, the property is good for families with children, mainly because of the pool and accessible location. However, it may not be the most senior-citizen-friendly option.

Good: -Staffs were very polite and respectful. -Kids will surely enjoy the abundance of playgrounds. -A lot of scenic views. -Wide area. Bad: -Room was not really clean. -Only a few complimentary items, especially for hygiene. -The swimming pools were not clean either, there were presence of algae, dead insects, and other unknown debris, especially at the water park/inflatable. -There were presence of flies in the dining hall near the check-in counter during our breakfast.

⭐️⭐️⭐️☆☆ (3 out of 5) I’m finally writing this review after several stays at Solea Resort, and I feel that with enough experience there, my opinion is fair and honest. Gave them several chances. 😅 On the positive side, Solea is very good for families with kids. The pools are fun and well-designed, and you really feel a sense of safety since there are several lifeguards on duty at all times. There are also multiple pools to choose from, whether you want to do lap swimming or just enjoy the water with your little ones. We also spent New Year’s Eve there, and I have to say the food and program were good. There were lots of food options and good variety, so everyone could enjoy and find something they liked. That said, there are a few areas that really need improvement. The pools are quite far from the rooms, which can be inconvenient, especially with kids or seniors. Service at the restaurant was unfortunately very slow, almost to the point that it felt poorly managed. We even saw another table leave because no expectations were set. In one instance, we stayed at our table for around 20 minutes without it being cleaned, even after informing several servers that we were ready to order. No one came back, so we eventually left and ate elsewhere. The water refill stations on the building floors are also often empty or not refilled quickly. During our very first stay last year, we experienced having no running water in the room, which meant we couldn’t use the toilet or shower on our first night. On our most recent stay, the shower head in our room was also broken, which added to the inconvenience. Overall, Solea has a lot of potential and works well for families, but I suggest not setting expectations too high so you won’t feel too disappointed. 😅

We really enjoyed our stay here. Solea Mactan is far from the city but everything you need is in the hotel already. We loved how they value those families traveling because they have a play area for kids and kids at heart. There are also lots of swimming pools although I think the beach area could be better. They also have these freebies which we really appreciated. Breakfast was also good!

We booked four rooms at Solea Mactan Resort directly with the resort, so we could share a holiday with the local Lapu-Lapu family. We stayed on the second floor in Building B. The rooms were nicely decorated and comfortable.|Our booking included the breakfast buffet and it was enjoyed by all. Food quality and temperature was good for the most part. Peak times would be 7:30am-8:30am - so go before or after to avoid the crowds.|The multiple pools on the property were thoroughly enjoyed by the family - especially the kids. The small "Aqua Play" area is only open on the weekends at the current time. The "Inflatable Waterpark" is currently closed for cleaning/renovation, but is due to reopen in the first/second week of December. The Pool Slides in the "Ritchie Pool" were not open during our stay, though the pool was open. The "Aqua Park" was enjoyed by the kids.|Staff were friendly, outgoing and smiling.

We stayed here for 6 nights and had a fantastic stay! The people in every department are friendly and helpful. The breakfast were top notch, and the grill near the pool had incredible shish kabobs! There are so many activities to do here. There was 1 pool that was undergoing renovations, but it didn't really matter because there were 8 other pools to use! We definitely hope we can come here again some day :)
