A friend and I dropped in during happy hour. The drinks were great (and strong)! We has the French 75, Whiskey Sour, and an Old Fashioned. We also had the crab cakes, grazing board, brussels sprouts, bread pudding, cheese board. The crab cakes were delicious and they didn't skimp on the crab! The boards were satisfying as well. The brussels and bread pudding were delicious. We ordered the tomato toast, but it was lacking. The toast alone was good, but the tomato topping was bland and underwhelming.

The food was really good. Chef knows what he is doing!!! We were there for restaurant week, so if the items are in the regular menu, they need to be.

Loving this new Solera!! The steak flat bread was like butter!! The dates were wrapped in a bacon, and cooked down in a harissa sauce, a perfectly juicy and spicy bite. My husband had the burger - served on a cutting board and stacked up high topped with a golden fried egg. He refused to share lol - The service was so pleasant and moved at just the right speed! Bonus tip: they now have 1/2 priced wine bottles when you order their cheese board! We went with Silver Oak 2017 - A great break in the middle of the week! Just what we needed to make it to Friday! We will be back!

What a hidden gem. I was in town for work when I decided to stop in and was extremely happy with the whole experience. The wait staff was very pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable of the menu. There were 4 of us so we got a number of appetizers and entrees, all of which were excellent. For me the highlights were; Apps: the Bacon Wrapped Dates & Plancha Shrimp Entree: Beef Cheeks & Redfish on the Half Shell (this was incredible!) Desserts: Bread Pudding & Cheese cake oh and don't forget the GUMBO it is a must have! They also had a great wine selection which was a happy complement to the meal. Overall I will absolutely be back next time I'm in town. What a great experience!

Google
Exquisite. The price puts it a bit above casual dining unless you've got disposable income. We came in a large group so we got to sample a lot of the menu and everything was sublime. Attached photo is of the juniper cocktail o got. It tasted very pleasantly like a Christmas tree.

Visited for a Friday dinner, expecting it to be busy, but there were plenty of open tables. Cool spot, split between a restaurant and bar with seating. Service was friendly and paced well. I would like to give higher points for the food, but the dishes were excessively salty. They seemed to be prepared well, but among the Brussels sprouts, paella, white bean soup, and cauliflower only the cauliflower wasn't over the top with sodium.

Restaurant Review: Solera – Baton Rouge, LA Service The overall service at Solera was excellent. The staff was warm and attentive, ensuring a welcoming experience throughout the visit. Morgan, one of the managers, was exceptionally helpful and attentive. Bella, the bartender, was friendly and demonstrated consistent effort in checking in, which added to the overall positive experience. However, the male (possibly front-of-house manager), while not rude or disrespectful, but could improve guest interaction to match the high standard set by the rest of the team. Ambiance Solera offers a charming, local wine bar atmosphere. The space is relaxed, with music that enhances the ambiance without overwhelming conversation. Live TVs are available for those wanting to catch a game, but the environment remains serene and far from noisy. The large wine selection and comfortable seating further elevate the dining experience, making it an ideal spot for a casual yet refined outing. Food • Steak and Mahon (7/10): This dish featured a flatbread topped with cheese, steak, and greens. The flavors were enjoyable, but the dish lacked moisture, leaving it slightly dry. A complementary sauce could significantly enhance its appeal. • Fried Cauliflower (7/10): While flavorful, the dish fell short in texture. A lack of crispiness detracted from the overall experience, leaving the cauliflower brittle. A firmer texture would have elevated this plate. • Piquillo Peppers (8/10): This was the standout dish, with a delightful balance of flavors. The combination of sweet honey, mild peppers, and crispy cooked cheese was a treat for the palate. Overall Solera is a restaurant worth revisiting. While some dishes could benefit from minor adjustments, the menu’s variety and creativity make it an exciting place to explore. Several visually appealing dishes coming out of the kitchen caught my eye, and I look forward to trying them on a return visit. Solera’s inviting ambiance, attentive service, and diverse offerings make it a gem in Baton Rouge’s dining scene.

Google
Pretty nice experience. Patatas bravas were excellent. Piquillo peppers were excellent. Fried cauliflower was excellent. Spanish Caesar had no flavor at all. Service was excellent. Waiter brought my girl and I bigger water cups because we can drink more than a camel. Prices were good. Bathrooms were clean.

Yelp
We chose Solera Bar & Tasting Room for the last BR restaurant week, in 2024. It was phenomenal. I chose to have the wine pairing with my meal, and my partner had the margarita. Both good choices. Overall, the wine pairing was okay. I like the appetizer pairing of a nice light, white bubbly prosecco. The second was a classic red wine to pair with a steak. The last wine is where I was not impressed. It was a dessert wine that had a smell similar to a distilled whiskey. I took a sip and decided I rather another glass of prosecco. Shout out to the server who was accommodating and swapped out that glass for what I requested. He didn't have to, but he did! The food was mouth watering delicious. We started off with the sauteed shrimp and the piquillo peppers. THANK GOD the piquillo peppers are a Solera regular. I will be getting them again. The shrimp were just okay, nothing out of this world. Second course was the filet with polenta. It was absolutely delicious and packed with flavors that complimented each other well. Final course we had the rum bread pudding and the manchego cheesecake. The manchego cheese is definitely a rich and an acquiring flavor. Without the blueberry sauce, you would think its just a slab of cheese. The rum bread pudding was spectacular. I have never loved a rum sauce with my bread pudding, but the Solera one kept me wanting more. Overall and enjoyable experience, with a couple minor foods that lack the razzle dazzle of a 5 star review.

Yelp
My friend and I LOVE apps and small plates. This is the perfect place. Also nothing here is above 40$ so it makes it even more enjoyable. We started with the special strawberry Basil daiquiri and it was small but it was a 9/10. We got the Brussels and they were amazing with the goat cheese. I wish they were less steamed and more crispy I guess ? 8/10 Surf and turf board was incredible. Everything on the board was amazing and it was only 35$ 10/10 Then we decided to get the chorizo flatbread. I was not a fan - but my friend said she loved it. The cheesecake was really good as well. The drinks were always on point. And we plan to come back and try different things next time. The staff was super friendly and great at clearing the table. The place was also super cute.

Peg L.

Yelp
We went during restaurant week. The special menu was overpriced for what it was and the portions were tiny. It took nearly one hour to get our food and it was cold. Waitress had an attitude. She checked on us twice. The meat was well seasoned but wasn't cooked to my request. The bread pudding was good.

Yelp
The service was fantastic and we enjoyed the various small plates (tapas). We especially loved the soup of the day which was a cream based seafood soup with lump crab meat. No paella which was a little disappointing but everything was delicious

Yelp
My girlfriends and I had a girls night and had the best experience at Solera. We ordered some small plates the start, and we shared those. It was the perfect way to start. Our waitress was so attentive and perfect for our group we had. Then we got entrés and another small plate to split. The cocktails were AMAZING. I seriously cannot get over how good this place. It's perfect for date night or girls nights.

Carey C.

Yelp
Un-freaking believably good! Hungry as I usually am, the idea of a place that focuses on small plates makes me feel like I will continue to be hungry when I leave. But the great sounding entrees served as my failsafe and brightened my expectations. We made reservations because the place is known to be crowded on some nights. This was a stormy night so there were some extra tables open, and I wouldn't have called it busy. The wine selection is outstanding and pleased the connoisseur in our four person party. I had a cocktail: the American Trilogy, a great bourbon cocktail without being too sweet. We decided to order four small plates: the tomato toast, Spanish andouille croquettes (think hush puppies), bacon wrapped dates and the plancha seared shrimp. Our waitress brought us extra toast to soak up the sauces. Each dish was better than the last, but my fave was the croquettes then the bacon dates. We took out time, talked a bunch and finally decided to order more small plates rather than get entrees, the thinking being that we wanted more things to taste rather than stick to one larger dish; but the beef cheeks on grits were calling my name. In this next tranche, we ordered the pork belly and piquilla peppers. She brought us more toast. Both dishes were amazing. We ordered coffee and bread pudding and a very curious cheese cake. The bread pudding was exactly right and the cheese cake was more of a flavor adventure, and really good. The small plates are reasonably priced especially considering the presentation and wonderful flavor. Six small plates and two desserts and no one left hungry.

Yelp
The place was nice, the server was friendly, the drinks were good and I enjoyed the food. For our tapas we ordered the croquetas de jamon and the garlic shrimp. The croquetas weren't dry like some places and I loved the sauce that the shrimp were in. I wish they would've given me more bread to dip in the sauce because it was delicious! The white sangria was really refreshing and not too sweet. The marisco paella was good but not amazing. I would give it a 3.5 but I think it's bc I've tasted some of the most delicious paella ever in Madrid & Barcelona so I think I might have high standards. It just needed a little bit more seasoning. But all in all this place was great. It had a nice atmosphere, the service was good, the food was tasty and I will definitely come back and try some other tapas/dishes because everything on the menu looked delicious.

Yelp
Never been to a tapas/ Spanish restaurant before, and I really enjoyed it! The atmosphere was spot on! Loved how the bar was right up front when you walk in. To start, I got the white wine Sangria... loved it and could have had those all night long! I went in a Wednesday and they have a deal on Sangria, so that's why I got it. My friend got the Rose Sangria, and it wasn't nearly as good as the white wine Sangria. Also, I got the Brussels sprouts as a tapas starter, and they were good! They had this glaze on them that I wasnt't sure if at first, but once I ate more, I liked it! For my entree, I got the burger which came with fries, and I split the ensalada Mediterranean salad with my friend. The burger was average but the salad was so good!! Everything mixed very well.

Yelp
If you've ever been out with me, chances are we've gotten some kind of Spanish influenced meal together, and if you know me then you know tapas is my favorite and is the way to my heart. So when I first heard about Solera Spanish Tapas and Bar, I was locked in. Note: If Bin 77 is the sexy mysterious cousin, Solera is the cousin who is the life of the party (and is probably hosting it, too)! If you're new to tapas, tapas are small plates, snacks or appetizers. Originally from Spain, a lot of cultures are making very tapas-style dishes that are lately considered to be "sophisticated". However, you don't have to be bourgeois (nor bougie, leave that to me lol). Just be willing to try new things and share, since most tapas are shareable plates. Solera is in the Southdowns Shopping Center on Perkins but if you aren't careful, you could miss it. Nestled in its own little corner, it's surrounded by plenty of parking and other shops. One of my favorite things about tapas bars is that the atmosphere is always lively, no matter what city you're in. There's no exception here in BR, either. The atmosphere is upbeat and the service is phenomenal. We started off with drinks. I got the sangria and bestie got the jalapeño mango margarita that was on special. For food we ordered pan con tomate (bread w/ tomatoes), croquetas de jamón (ham croquettes/fritters), gambas (sautéed shrimp with garlic sherry sauce) and patatas bravas (crispy potatoes w/ Manchego cream and brava sauce). I enjoyed everything very much but the standout for me was the croquetas de jamón. The outside was golden and crisp while the inside was creamy and pillowy. I'm warning you now though, Solera is gonna be a problem for my budget. Cannot wait to come back to try their happy hour specials.

Melissa T.

Yelp
They have a great happy hour here with a lot of good choices for light bites and drinks - they also have a special on Tuesdays for $25 which is a double cheeseburger, fries and a glass of Edge Cabernet. We sat near the bar so I could clearly see what the bartender poured and it was not Edge. It was another Cabernet on their menu that isn't the same price. So just felt like that was false advertising- if they were out of Edge or if there was a special circumstance then that should have been communicated. Will definitely go back but I hope this doesn't happen again!

Jac B.

Yelp
One star because the bartender was attentive, one star because we thought we would get food poisoning but didn't. The place smells crusty when you walk in like somewhere people have tried to clean but just can't. The bathroom was disgusting. Some of the food was fine (we ordered lobster and it was tough but certainly edible) and some just smelled a little old. The team was nice enough to comp an item we just could not stomach. I cannot recommend eating here.

Yelp
I came to Solera with some friends for a girls night. We went on Tuesday because we saw it was happy hour from 4pm-9pm. What sold us was that they not only had drink specials but also select tapas specials as well. The restaurant had a very relaxing feel, and the food is cooked as you order it, so it does take some time if you order a good bit of food like we did. I enjoyed not feeling rushed to finish my meal and leave. Since it was happy hour, I tried the Cold Fashioned, and while it was good, I will probably stick to a plain Old Fashioned next time. We started by ordering all of the tapas that were part of the happy hour specials: the pan con tomate, croquetas, fritas, calamares, and piquillos. I loved the manchego cheese sauce that the fritas were served with ! I also am not a big fan of ham, but croquetas were my favorite of these. The piquillos were a surprise as they were not what I normally think of when I think of a stuffed pepper, but the honey and the cheese made me want to get a second order. We also got the steak and Mahon flatbread and the steak was cooked perfectly and was very tender. They also have a dessert menu, so if you have a sweet tooth make sure to ask! We tried the affegato, the cheesecake and the bread pudding. All were delicious and if I had to pick one, I'm honestly not sure I could. All around great experience and we're looking forward to our next girls night here!

Yelp
The ambiance was great. This is one of those spots where you could go casual or fancy and not be looked at funny. For drinks two people got the holiday sangria, another got the margarita special, and I got the Southdowns. We all absolutely loved our drinks. The bartender was on it tonight, we never waited more than 5 minutes for our drink orders. We started with two appetizers, the pan con tomate and the croquetas de jamón. I didn't try the tomato bread but I did have the ham fritters (and got the aioli on the side). I wasn't absolutely blown away but it was still a decent appetizer, the aioli didn't really add much so I'm glad I got it on the side. I will say the fritters were very light and fluffy though. I heard nothing but great things about the tomato bread from those who tried it so give it a shot, I'm just not huge on tomatoes! For entrees, we got the seafood paella for four and demolished it. We split it between three of us and there was barely any left. I'm blanking on the choices of fish but I'm 99% sure you could choose between swordfish and black drum, we went with the black drum. The rice was so fluffy and everything was so well balanced. I really enjoyed the family style serving of the paella as well. My mom got the Gambas (garlic shrimp) appetizer as her entree. She's had it before and loved it but this time it was as if it was completely unseasoned so we had to ask for salt and pepper which turned it around. Our server, Fatima, was awesome! She was very attentive, kept our water glasses full, and made sure empty plates didn't sit too long. Definitely ask for her when you go in! Parking is amble and easy to come by since they're in that strip. Also pretty close to the door for those days it's raining like crazy (which seems to be a lot more frequent as of late) and you forgot your umbrella.

Yelp
Solera has a great happy hour deal! I have been twice with groups of friends and we have really enjoyed it. The food is a bit different, so if you like to venture out, this is your spot! The first time I went service wasn't great, but the second time our server was amazing! The restaurant itself it's super cute and had a good atmosphere.

Yelp
I wanted to try some restaurants in Baton Rouge. I love wine and tapas so I tried solera. The service is amazing. We were seated within 2 minutes. No waiting. Our waitress was very nice. She answered all of our questions about the menu and gave us some recommendations. It wasn't really a lot of people. It was a Saturday night. The lighting wasn't too low but wasn't too bright either. It was perfect for a chill night out. I was trying out restaurants to see which one I would go to for my birthday. This one sadly didn't make the cut. I looked at the menu before going. Pics online. Seemed great. The wine is great. The food is subpar. The ideas of the menu is perfect. I was really excited to try. I love Spanish food. But the seasoning just wasn't there. I probably wouldn't go again but try it for yourself!
google avatar

Genevieve F.

Yelp
I stopped in here to try their tapas and they did not disappoint. I started with their special alcohol drink, which was a $6 sangria. They have a red, a white, and a rosé. I got the red but they were all good, Then I got the poquillos, which are red prepared roasted on toast points and amazing. Apparently there is a piquillo pepper, which is sweet with zero heat. The web site calls this a "Manchego Stuffed Peppers on Crostini with Rosemary Infused Honey." Anyway the mixture of flavors fairly burst forth and melded together is an excellent infusion of flavors.

Yelp
Solera has become a favorite place to go to for dinner or just a glass of wine. First, their wine selection is fantastic. They change it up regularly so I like being able to try new wines. Food-we regularly enjoy the Spanish Caesar salad(without anchovies) the charcuterie board, the Steak and Mahon flatbread! It's a great place for a date or to meet a group of people. I've only had great service!
google avatar

Timothy M.

Yelp
Solera is a place we don't visit enough. The food, drinks and wine list are excellent. The atmosphere is nice and comfortable. Service could improve a bit. We're glad they're in Baton Rouge, and we'll definitely be back!

Yelp
My favorites of the night: the Atun Crudo, Albondigas, and the Mariscos paellas (I was stressed by my party to mention that the paellas were the best in all of BR and NO). Very cute spot that felt very welcoming. The staff kept an attentive eye and a warm personality. Will be back again!

Elizabeth T.

Yelp
Unique cuisine and quaint and welcoming bar The dishes are so interesting and a welcome departure from the usual fare Very nice staff with the perfect mix of friendliness and professionalism A little pricey for what you get or I would've given it 5 stars

Yelp
I really was excited when I heard a tapas restaurant was coming to BR. I love Spanish food and have been to some really good tapas places in Chicago, Seattle, San Diego and Miami. Unfortunately, this place missed the mark for me. First, the ambiance wasn't there for me. Nothing in the decor said Spain or Basque to me. Second, the menu was very small for a tapas place. There were about 20 tapas items on the menu with hot and cold being mixed together on the menu. There were 3 entrees, none of them paella, and a number of sandwiches. Not what I was expecting. Third, the food was just, ok. The ham and cheese crochetas were the highlight of the night, but i really didn't like the sauce. The olives and lamb skewers were also good, but nothing I'd go out of my way for. The cheese and meat plate we got was also good, but a meat and cheese plate is hard to screw up. The drinks were underwhelming as well. The el presidente was overly sweet and hard to drink. The gin martini was ok, but just wasn't well balanced. On the plus side, the service was really good.

Yelp
Yummy little tapa place with great atmosphere and drinks! Their stuffed pepper app is a MUST!

Jared F.

Yelp
One of my go-to's for date night or pre-show/concert evenings. Everything on the menu is good, and the groups I go with like to order a lot of items and pass them around to experience it all. Great atmosphere for a date or gathering of adults. Highly recommend

Yelp
This is one of those times I wish I could do a 3.5. I have been so excited about this place opening up! This is the THIRD restaurant I have been to in this location and I haven't lived here 5 years. Having lived in Spain I was really looking forward to some nostalgia while eating here. I was slightly underwhelmed. The ambiance was lacking. It felt like it could have been any kind of restaurant honestly. If it closed tomorrow something else could go in immediately and you wouldn't know it had been a Spanish restaurant. Track lighting and bright ceilings didn't help. The previous restaurant had been over decorated and this one swung the opposite direction. Also, we same for our anniversary dinner and they were playing the LSU game over ALL the speakers. I get in the bar, but in the whole restaurant? It just didn't make it feel very warm in there. The food was overall good, it felt a little one note with the Brava sauce being on a few too many of the dishes. We ordered a tapas menu and extra tapas as well as drinks. The actual tortilla (I admit I was most looking forward to this as I had eaten it a lot living there) was super bland. The highlight was the lamb skewers and the drink menu for me. The service was great and I wouldn't be opposed to going back.

Yelp
Everything at Solera is awesome! I especially loved their stuffed dates!! The service was great.

Yelp
I visited Solera tonight to meet a friend and received Collin McCool (yes, that's his real name) as my server. Mr. McCool was a delightful spirit who performed even more delightful service! Cute too...always a bonus ! We got their two specials and the calamari. By far the best calamari in Baton Rouge... even better than Ruth Chris steakhouse. The frozen espresso martini was to die for and they have a neon tapas sign that is so fun to take pictures next to! Not to mention their beautiful copper bar top, date night ambiance, and beautiful, intriguing Spanish decor. If you haven't tried this place yet, you are missing out on a HUGE hidden gem of Baton Rouge and my heart hurts for you!!! ‍ You need to get there. TONIGHT!

Yelp
My friend and I came on a Tuesday night where it was fairly busy. Service: First impressions were that we were promptly seated by our host but it took a little while to be attended to our server. The plate setting in front of me was dirty with orange food on the rim which was unpleasant but promptly replaced when requested. Our server Anjana was lovely. She checked in with us on our food, offered suggestions, and was great- not absent or hovering over us. I wish all servers could be like her! I thought the hosts and service was really enjoyable. Ambiance: I thoroughly enjoyed the music which was at a very appropriate volume that didn't hinder conversation at all. I was pleasantly delighted to hear a mix of Glass Animals, Arctic Monkeys, Big Data, etc. The lighting was adjusted as it got darker to near aggressively bright but it was later adjusted to a nicer less aggressive and intimate lighting. Food: Tapas- The piquillos were decent. My friend ordered the croquetas which were a different texture and flavor than Cuban style croquetas she previously enjoyed so she didn't enjoy them. Our server was really kind with removing them as she wanted us to find something that was enjoyable. The pan con tomate was nice, but we wished the tomato wasn't presented as a thick layer on top. It was almost too much tomato and made the bread get soggy as we were chatting with drinks before our entrees as is meant with tapas, by which it was texturally unpleasant. Sandwiches- I enjoyed my chicken sandwich. The chicken wasn't dry and it wasn't unbalanced at all so it was nice. My friend enjoyed her burger and it was cooked as she requested, which isn't something to be taken for granted. The desserts didn't appeal to us, and we were fine with a quite sweet sangria to end on. Drinks: The rotating frozen cocktail is a mango margarita which was a bit disappointing as you could hardly taste any tequila but it was thankfully not crazy sweet. You are better off getting a mango slushee and adding your own alcohol. My gin and tonic was nice and the white sangria had a nice flavor. I'm grateful that the server warned us how sweet the white sangria was preemptively and despite that, I found the grapefruit and honeysuckle notes to be lovely. All in all, I would come back to dine in for the service and ambiance, next time with a friend who likes paella to share it with. I'm glad we came on a Tuesday with some drinks and tapas deals.

Yelp
10/10 Had an amazing time! Food, service, drinks, and atmosphere were great! It was our first time eating here and we were already talking about what to order the next time we visit before we even finished. The service was great. Since it was our first time there we asked our server for recommendations on what to order. Every single recommendation was incredible. We had lamb lollipops, hummus, beef cheeks, Mediterranean flatbread, brussel sprouts, and the stuffed peppers. If I had to pick a favorite, it's a tie between the brussel sprouts and the beef cheeks. Drinks and dessert included a red and rosé sangria and a blueberry brûlée cheesecake and a blueberry caramel bread pudding. It was delicious. We definitely can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Solera is among my very favorite spots in Baton Rouge and I cannot believe it has taken me this long to review! Solera is an incredible place with my favorite happy hour in the city! They have really tasty Spanish varietals for $6 a glass and crazy good tapas selections for $5 each! My go-to are the Piquillos which have such a dynamic flavor and texture combination that impresses me every time. Sharing tapas among your group is the best way to experience Solera. The variety of spices, meats, and sauces are second to none in town. Having the opportunity to share with your dining mates allows you to try dishes that you may be unfamiliar with but will undoubtedly become new favorites! I highly recommend the Langosta con Fritas, Lamb Lollipops, and Carrilladas. They are all so tender and very different in taste! The service at Solera is some of the best in the city. Every person there is extremely knowledgeable on the menu and can recommend the perfect selections based on your preferences. Every time I walk in I am greeted by name and genuinely asked how I have been. Visiting Solera now feels like I am welcomed by friends and I get excited every time I stop in. With all of the delicious savory options to choose from. it is difficult to save room for dessert but please do - their Manchego Cheesecake and Bread Pudding are simply divine! If you are too full. Please take some to go, you will be glad you did later. Do yourself a favor and visit the hidden gem Solera soon! It is undoubtedly one of my favorite places in the entire city and I make sure to return often.

Yelp
What a wonderful experience! Arriving during happy hour, we enjoyed some discounts on wine and cocktails - absolutely worth trying out. I will be honest, i don't even know all the delicious tapas we enjoyed. My friend ordered mine to split with her, and each and every item was delicious. Our server offered some suggestions, and then offered some good drinks to pair the tapas with. I would have licked each plate if i could have. So, while I know my review won't lead you to the specific items to try, i hope you will at least head over and try this amazing place out for yourself!

Yelp
I was so excited to try this Spanish tapas restaurant. In true tapas fashion we decided to order several small plates and share. The patatas bravas, croquetas, and pan con tomate were all fantastic. We also order the paella, which was some of the best I've had- we ordered the paella for two and shared it between 4 people to go along with the tapas and it was plenty of food for all. The food was so good and really reminded me of being in Spain. This type of dining is really fun for a group of friends since everyone gets to try everything, especially foods you may not normally order. They have some good happy hour deals on drinks and select tapas as well. Overall, fun place with a bit of a unique dining experience.

Yelp
Good little spot with nice ambiance. We got a couple of different Tapas and two entrees. The tuna and the paquillos were awesome. The cucumber salad, patatas bravas and the flatbreads were good, not great. The scallop tapas were good, BUT $16 for 2 scallops? I mean they were good, but not $8 a scallop good. Would go back with a big group to try more variety. Probably not again for a while.

Yelp
We had the best experience with the sweetest server. Her name was Katie. We asked her for drink and food recommendations and she was on top of it. Great drinks, amazing food, superior service, and overall ambience was exquisite! Totally coming back. Also they offer free dessert for whatever occasion you're celebrating like whatt??

We love Solera. Have visited 3 times and enjoyed everything. Drinks and food have all been great. They also have great happy hour selections.

Yelp
I am from nola so my restaurant expectations are high and Solera completely exceeded them! I absolutely love the food and atmosphere. I've come here for my birthday and date night. Totally recommend the steak flatbread and stuffed peppers. Cat is also the best server, she's so attentive and sweet! We will be going back and will be asking for Cat again!

Yelp
I've been here twice--once for happy hour and once for a sit down dinner. Both times I've gone was during off times so I can't tell if it ever gets super busy. I am usually seated right away by friendly hosts. I'm a big fan of their tapas menu. I've briefly vacationed in Spain so I reminisce about tapas. I can say that their tapas are delish! I don't care for the lamb but I'm not a lamb girl. Everything else I had was so so good. I think it's worth checking out for happy hour where it's $5 for a handful of them. I'm not so into the big plates... We got 2 of the hot chicken sandwiches ($14) and one was a normal sized chicken breast and the other was tiny. Like it was so thin it was barely there. Otherwise, the flavor was fine just not impressive. Overall, I'd recommend checking this place out for happy hour! The sangria wasn't memorable but I did like their old fashioned.

Yelp
Yum yum yum! Of all the restaurants I've been to in Baton Rouge this is one of my favorites. I love tapas style restaurants to try diverse foods, but when they're delicious it makes it that much better. My Lamb Lollis were perfectly seasoned without overpowering the lamb itself. Absolutely amazing food and staff!

Yelp
Picked up the seafood paella four. It's was alright. The fish was delicious, the shrimp and chorizo were good but the rice was rather bland. The short time I was in the restaurant it seemed nice and the servers were attentive even when busy. I definitely want to come back and give the tapas a try but won't get the paella again.

Yelp
Food is amazing. The best food I have had in a very long time. Authentic and well executed. The Gambas was probably the single most excellent tasting I have ever put in my mouth! I was introduced to traditional Tapas bar while in the Navy and visited southern Spain. This restaurant sent me back to my first tapas experience when I bit into their food! Highly recommended. Had the patatas bravas, Gambas, Croquetas de Jamon, Iberian ham wrapped dates and the seafood paella! Everything was great. I will be back. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Yelp
Solera is fast becoming my favorite place for an after work nibble and sip. The staff, especially the amazing Stephanie, is so helpful - giving great suggestions of their favorites on the extensive tapas style menu. If I were you, I'd start with a glass of delicious Spanish wine. The house garnacha is what I'm currently jonesing on because, happy hour, but the 3 types of sangria are calling my name for the next visit. Or maybe a beautiful glass of Tempranillo. OPTIONS ARE ENDLESS. Ok but the food. It's different than anything else you'll find in BR. Healthy tapas portions that aren't going to break the bank AND full of flavor? Tell you more? Ok. 1. Ham croquetas. Just do it. It sounds like a ham and cheese but it's not. It's fried and it's creamy and melty and almost like you're biting into a thick and luscious fried soup with bits of ham. And then you get this light aioli for dipping...its perfect and I can't believe it took 2 visits to order them. 2. The toasts. Get one of each, eat the tomato toast last. Thank me later. And also, thank Stephanie because she suggested it. 3. Piquillos. Sleek and flavorful peppers, stuffed with salty picante cheese, topped with sweet honey and laid on top of crispy bread. A taste and texture explosion. 4. Lastly - brunch perfection. Huevos Estrellados. Crispy chips, drizzled with just thin enough cheese sauce, crumbled with chorizo and topped with a sunny side up egg. Obviously, these are not the only choices at Solera, but my favorites so far. Can't wait to go back for brunch, lunch, and all kinds of happy hours :)

Yelp
We just happened upon this restaurant and didn't have reservations so we sat at the bar and had drinks and shared several small plates! We really enjoyed everything! The stuffed red peppers were great! The garlic shrimp was very good! Order extra toast to get the garlic sauce! The Croquetas de Jamón were very good! And the lamb meatballs were great! This was very filling! The staff was all very friendly and helpful! We will be back with a reservation!

Yelp
Great new flavors and a breath of fresh creativity for Baton Rouge in an overflowing sea of fried seafood platters. Butternut squash soup delicious! Patatas with a fried egg - excellent! Shrimp - very good! Brussels Sprouts - maybe the best I've ever had. We'll be back.

Yelp
Can I have one of everything? We sampled a couple items off of the Happy Hour menu but the Calamares was my favorite!! So tasty!! We also ordered the Seared Scallops but it was a bit small so of course we had to get an entree as well and why not Poached Char-grilled Lobster Tail?(Langosta con Frita) a bit pricey at $32 but it was worth it. After two rounds of drinks, sweet peppers, scallops and poached lobster tail we had to call it quits but would love to come back and try more items off of the menu another time.

Yelp
I wanted to love this place. The atmosphere and the service was great. The apps were good but the main course, seafood paella was not something I would order again.

Yelp
Incredible experience. Lamb lollipops, calamari, pork cheeks, shrimp, steak mahon flatbread--all to die for. Speciality cocktails are delicious. Bread. Effing. Pudding. Will be back 162933983 times. Also--server was Anna was awesome.

Yelp
The Paella is a must. It's the best paella in Baton Rouge, maybe even LA because it's so hard to find in this area. The atmosphere is nice and the waiters are great and explain everything. The drinks were also really good with fresh ingredients. We had the Southdowns and Smoked Paloma. Great Spanish wine recommended to us. I can't imagine not going back just for the Paella!

Yelp
Little did I know to expect the kindred spirit of Cocha in this place!!! If you know, you know. Tucked away among some unassuming shops, Solera becomes the backdrop for authentic Spanish fare. The soul of this place is palpable even on a quiet (early) Friday for lunch. A little more cheeky than Cocha in the color scheme (red accents throughout), but one look at the menu and you are back in Europe, this time Madrid? Barcelona? Take your pick. Bartender and maitre, Lucas, clearly knows the menu well and seems he is a natural at balancing all the demands of front of house. Chef was very accommodating to my GF requests. Particularly good was the Salsa Brava, deep and smoky. Chose to do patatas bravas with the addition of fried egg and after skipping breakfast, it was the perfect comfort food. To follow was the tuna crudo. Here I will be cheeky and suggest the texture was more tartare than my idea of crudo, but I respect the use of the Spanish adjective in a Spanish restaurant. Thank you chef for the plantains, perfectly cooked with caramelized edges and a wonderful treat! Por favor, no cambie el menú por las personas que no sabe que es una croqueta or pan con tomate. Continúa con su comida (y las palabras) auténtica(s). Es una buena educación por americanas de mentes cerradas. Can't wait to come back to try the Paella. Hasta luego!
