Solest Takachiho Hotel

Enjoyed staying here during our visit to takachiho gorge - very very clean and comfortable rooms - walkable to the gorge (although the return walk is mostly up some steep inclines). Rooms are small - but still worked for our family of 5! Enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which had both western and Japanese options. Would definitely stay here again for a future visit!

Great and welcoming staff. Excellent cleanliness The rooms are spacious and comfortable - as are the beds, towels and sleepwear. We had breakfast once and because we are vegetarians they made us a special omelette. Great location in terms of the bus stop (less than a ten minute walk) and really close to all kinds of nature walks and temples (everything is within walking distance). Thank you very much

A relatively new hotel with a small comfy room but the service from the staff is one of the best I've encountered in my years of travelling across Japan. They were proactive and introduced us places for dinner without us having to ask them. This is a rarity in Japan where language is sometimes a barrier. They even asked if we needed help to book the restaurants. This was really thoughtful. Thanks to them we didn't have to brave the cold only to be rejected at the restaurant we wanted to go as it was fully booked. Thank you Solest Takachiho for a wonderful stay! Highly recommended!

For a relatively new hotel it was poor that one sheet had a large tear in it. The check-in was also extremely bad and not up to the usual level of politeness in other hotels (seemed to just be the person checking us in as noticed other people getting checked in were recieving a friendly/polite interaction so suspect they just hadn't trained a new person up yet). Location wise the hotel is mid way between the gorge and the main temples to the north. You can do a long walk to the gorge but the main temples are a long way off requiring a car/bus. The hotel does offer free cushions for the nearby theatre show. Suggest asking for as many as you can get as extremely uncomfortable sitting for an hour on tatami mats.

Very nice hotel with good breakfast and very welcoming staff. We loved every minute of it and wished we stay for more nights. Take the larger room it’s worth it, beautiful interior design really top level ❤️

The rooms were lovely and clean. The staff was incredibly attentive. Set dinner was pricy but lots of food. Also very close to the gorge. Everyone was very friendly.

Room was big & comfortable 20sqm for 2 single beds room . Shops & few restaurants near by. Short walk 15 mins ish to Takachiho Gorge. Staff friendly & helpful. But the room was dry I wish they have lotion service like other hotels & wifi bit weak.

The mattress and pillow are comfortable. I can sleep well. This is a modern design hotel. The staff in the front desk is very nice and helpful. He gave me some recommendations on dinner and attraction.
