Yelp
Il Solferino came recommended, and deservedly so! Its a charming little Osteria-style restaurant (and it IS small, so reserve!), that is warm and welcoming. The owners and staff were very solicitous, and we were seated quickly and at an excellent table.
Our waiter was charming, pleasant, and very helpful with his recommendations. Frankly, I was there for the Ossobuco. But he recommended the Linguine all' Astice, which was divine! Sweetie had the other suggestion, the artichoke mousse. Also heavenly! I did have the Ossobuco, and at the risk of being an awful human being (because everything else was perfect), it was...ok. The risotto was exceptional, but I like my Ossobuco with a tomato-base, and this was more of the classical Milanese style. Still, the meat was tender, and the marrow delicious. Sweetie had the Milanese veal, also recommended, which was exceptional. It was all washed down with a delicious Banfi Brunello (2007), from a very comprehensive wine list, with some great wines at very reasonable prices.
It was a wonderful experience, and I'll definitely go back!
