Solid Rock Lodge

Set in picturesque hills this place is fantastic. Simon,, mina and milan their son are such a special family that make you feel apart of the family. Loved watching mina go to garden to collect fresh herbs and spices to make the masala omelet in the morning. Food in general was great. Beautiful walks in the surrounding hills. Thank you will be back with my son to do champadevi.

Simon and Mina were the perfect hosts, they were very welcoming and they, along with their family, really went of their way to make the stay amazing. The rooms were comfy and clean and the food they made was delicious. The location is also amazing, nestled in the hillside of the village of Dollu, it gave a good sense of village living with some beautiful scenery. We did the Champa Devi Hike which Simon gave us great tips for. Rocky their dog was an added bonus!

at the far end of Pharping, Fantastic location with a great view over the valley. Food is almost entirely from their own garden and deliciously prepared. The hosts are very friendly helpful and service is great.

Simon and Mina treat guests like family members. The vibe seems a bit unreal . There are several must see temples and religious caves in the neighborhood. Listening to the sounds of the nature literally removed all the stress after 3 nights of staying here

Solid Rock is not far from Kathmandu/ Boudha, but it is worlds apart. It lies at the end of the Valley and is such a relaxed place. The hosts Minna and Simon are very welcoming and great resources. The food from the garden is amazing (homemade hog plum pickle and marmalade!) and we learned a lot about local cuisine. While the Asura Cave is a walk of about 50min away, we really enjoyed the proximity to the Yeshe Tsogyel and Mandarava Caves. 5 dorjes out of 5 😉

Very warm welcome. You'll be wondered by Mina's garden and cuisine. You'll discover nepali timmur and lapsi from her organic garden. An intense experience for us. The lodge is nearby a bouddhist charming village. You can have a half day trip to reach the famous Pharping's cave. We highly recommend you this genuine place.

Very nice quiet place in Pharping! There are many hiking places in thr forest on the hills. One road goes exactly to Vajrayogini temple and Asura Cave. In 5 minutes from Solid Rock there is Yeshe Cogyal Cave. In a 20 minutes Mandatava Cave. Stuff is very friendly and you can feel yourself as at home place.

An amazing place up in the hills just 90 minutes drive from the centre of Kathmandu. Peaceful and quiet, with the best view of the valley - many impressive shrines and monasteries in the village below - and at the crossroad of many beautiful trails that bring you up to Champa Devi, overlooking all of Ktm and the Himalayan range, and the sacred town of Pharping in the next little valley.|Shower always hot, very fresh beds, clean room and bathroom, delicious organic food grown in the front garden (Mina makes the best pickles in the world!!) and fresh eggs from their chickens. Simon and Mina are the kindest hosts we’ve met in all of Nepal, and always there to accommodate your needs.|For a very reasonable price, the best accommodation in & around Kathmandu!
