If you are looking for a place where you can truly be one with nature, Solitude Farm is it. This isn't just a cafe; it’s a "farm-cum-forest" where the boundary between where your food grows and where you eat it completely disappears. The Ambience: The setting is breathtakingly beautiful. Sitting there in the quiet silence, punctuated only by the sound of birds chirping and the rustle of leaves, makes the food taste ten times better. The air is so fresh, and the vibe is incredibly peaceful. It’s the kind of place that reminds you to slow down and breathe. The Food (The Authentic Thali): I was absolutely in love with the thali. Everything felt authentic and incredibly fresh. The spread included: * Nutritious red rice and flavorful dal. * A crisp, vibrant salad and refreshing hibiscus fruit tea. * Creamy curd, tangy chutney, and a unique papad-style vada that was the perfect crunch. The best part? Even after finishing the entire thali, I didn’t feel heavy or stuffed—just clean energy. You can tell the ingredients are harvested with love. The Logistics & Staff: The staff here are super kind and welcoming. A small tip for visitors: make sure to arrive for lunch (usually served post 12:30 PM). Also, be prepared for the journey! The farm is deep in the interiors of Auroville, so there is a fair bit of travel/walking involved. I’d highly recommend leaving before sunset, as access becomes quite difficult after dark. One Small Note: I was really looking forward to meeting the founder, Krishna, but unfortunately, he was away in Tiruvannamalai during my visit. Hopefully, I’ll catch him next time! Verdict: A must-visit for anyone craving a mindful, nature-driven dining experience. It is worth every bit of the effort it takes to get there.

Absolutely incredible farm-fresh, super nourishing food and inspiring workshops! After reading One Straw Revolution and listening to Krishna interviewed on a permaculture podcast, I had to travel to the other side of the world just to know this beautiful, revolutionary project. Even if you can't attend a workshop, the Saturday farm forest tour lead by the passionate, gregarious founder is quite the experience! Krishna and his team are a force of nature, and the fully vegan thali featuring local, super healthful "weed" varieties are always marvelous!

Solitude Farms honestly has some of the best food I’ve ever tasted. It felt soulful, the kind of meal that really warms your heart. You can taste the freshness in every ingredient, and the care they put into preparing the food really shines through. It’s such a well-rounded, wholesome meal. If you’re planning a visit and want to do their farm tour, make sure you go on a Saturday that’s the only day they offer it. They’re open for breakfast and lunch, and I genuinely can’t recommend this place enough. Truly scrumptious.

Amazing cafe to visit. They really have authentic local and organic tamil food. Try their thali - it is full filling and have a scrumptious salad. On Saturday you get a free farm tour with Krishna. Please call them before you visit.

Saying that this was the best food I ate in India doesn’t fully capture the experience. Every dish was beautifully presented and inviting, with heavenly flavors. The drinks were amazing, and of course, I couldn’t leave without buying their famous pickles.

They have farm to table concept. Whatever is grown is served. Menu is very small and fixed for each day. Best is to have thali. It comes with local rice/millet, 2 vegetables, salad, chutney and pickle and one drink. Simple food but very tasty. The best coconut chutney I've had is here.

You sit in the gentle breeze in a well-shaded clearing, seranaded by plants from all directions. Then you get yourself a scrumptious lunch thali made from the land's bounty, and nothing processed. A zenful Sunday to remember for many a year to come, thank you!

I love solitude farm, it's all about vegan food. Good for vegan people but for me I like it flbut for u knw like for a bit experience. But to reach there, a bit adventurous. To go inside firstly the security not gonna allow, so it's better to call soltitude farm house before then, come inside.
