I'm a little late on the review because I technically floated last year... However I just want to share, this was a fantastic experience! It was completely relaxing, and the views were amazing the whole float. We probably saw a dozen or so Bald Eagles along the route and quite a bit of other wildlife too. I would 10/10 recommend this trip if you're visiting the Tetons and want a relaxing day of sightseeing.

Jess Murray-Price

Google
A fantastic way to take in the scenery! Bernie was a great guide and made the trip fun and informative. I would recommend this trip to anyone looking to take in the scenery. It gives fabulous views of the Tetons. We even left something in the bus and the guides made sure we got it back. If you do the trip from moose landing, Dorman’s pizza across the river is a great stop for lunch or dinner. The views are great and you can sit in or out.

Kash S.

Google
We took the 9:30 AM float and our guide Bryan was very knowledgeable and answered everyone's questions with a lot of detail and passion. The float trip was about 2 hrs long (plus 30 mins to get us to the river and gear us up). We appreciated the raincoats they lent us as it was pouring bad at the start of the trip. We did not see any animals except a bald eagle at the very start but that's never guaranteed. Great one time activity with some great views of the tetons.

Leigh Sierra

Google
We had such a peaceful float with Bernie! He was so awesome and patient with our kids and he had tons of local knowledge! If you are looking for a family float on the snake river I highly recommend this company. They were also very accommodating and timely!

Google
We did an evening float trip from 530-8 with Andy down then Snake River with our 2 kids ages 6 and 9. Super organized and started right on time. Pickup is in Moose and they take you to Deadman’s Bar. Andy was so knowledgeable and pleasant. We saw a moose, 2 beavers, 2 sand hill cranes, 2 bald eagles and an eagle nest with an eaglet perched on it! Highly recommended!

Heather Weber

Google
We had a fantastic time on our float trip on the Snake River through Grand Teton NP with Sam! He was an amazing guide and kept us safe. And he was so informative and knowledgeable. You could tell that he really loves his job! There were three generations on this float trip, ranging in age from 8 to nearly 75 and we all had a fabulous time! It was a comfortable ride in the raft and it’s a great way to see the park. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to the Tetons and we would recommend it to anyone visiting the area! Sam pointed out a grizzly bear in the brush, as well as eagles and other birds. And explained so many things to us. Thanks Sam for an amazing trip!

Google
Had a terrific time with Sam, an extremely knowledgeable and personable guide. Sam was great with our kids, engaging with them on their level and leaving my wife and I to enjoy to float from the back of the boat. He knew the answer to every question we had about the wildlife and geology of the surrounding area. The highlight was a serene and silent encounter with a moose having a drink in the river. Great experience — highly recommend.

Jennifer Peterson

Google
Our guide was very knowledgeable about the park and the river. He did a great job taking us down the river and even took us under an eagle's nest and we saw a moose. We had a great time and really enjoyed it. It was slow and smooth, which was perfect for our little guy who is scared of boats.

Yelp
Breathtaking views, amazing way to see the Tetons from a different POV. Beauty in every direction! Our guide Bryan was so knowledgeable, friendly and made everyone feel safe. From pick up to drop off the entire experience was seamless and we highly recommend it. What a fun excursion!!

Yelp
Incredible experience floating down the Snake River. We did the last trip of the day at 5:30 which I highly recommend during summer. We saw a moose, elk, several bald eagles, and had stunning views of GTNP. Our tour guide Ben (from Wisconsin) was terrific.

Jesse B.

Yelp
Phenomenal experience and a true highlight of our visit to Grand Teton National Park! First, we had an issue with two of our party not feeling well right before the 3 hour float -- we had to abort at the last minute. Called the office and they were very gracious and understanding, helping us reschedule for the next day. That was extremely kind of them, and certainly above and beyond my expectations! We went out at 9:30 the next morning. Saw plenty of wildlife (bald eagles, osprey, mergansers). No moose on this run, but the scenery and weather were ideal. Seeing the Tetons from all angles in the morning sunlight was spectacular. Each of their time slots has different advantages, but this was perfect for us. Monte was a very informative guide and pointed out wildlife, eagles' nests, and signs of beaver activity along the way. Very important note: This trip runs 100% through Grand Teton National Park. This it the trip you want! Do not book a scenic trip with other companies that run south of the park outside the boundary -- it won't be the same!

Yelp
Great experience for the kids. Our guide was super patient with all the questions and very engaging.

Yelp
The snake River float tour was incredible! Not only beautiful views but the tour guide Ross was super chill and easy to talk to. They provided transportation to the spot we entered the water and it was super relaxing. Great people and awesome way to see the National Park. I would 100% do it again.

Yelp
Number one on trip advisor and 5 star rating on yelp influenced us to book Solitude as our float trip operator. We were really happy with our guide Reid, he did a great job making us feel safe and provided us with all kinds of great information about the park during the two hour trip. The views were stunning from our float and would recommend this experience to anyone coming to Yellowstone and Grand Teton. It was 80 dollars per person and a maximum of 10 people per boat instead of the usual 16 per boat due to COVID-19. Honestly, I think 16 people on the float would have made the experience less enjoyable. So if you're thinking about visiting these parks, now is the time! You can also book a private boat tour for $600 if you do not wish to sit around strangers.

Yelp
We did the evening float trip at 5pm in mid July. It was very relaxing -- no need for towels, swimwear, water shoes, etc. We were completely dry and enjoyed a peaceful trip down the river. Our guide, Kris, was great and very knowledgeable. He directed our attention to moose, bald eagles, and beavers. I would recommend the evening trip to anyone looking for the animals, and a morning or afternoon trip for views of the Tetons. With the way the sun faces, the Tetons were shadowed in our evening trip. But in the morning, the sun would light them up beautifully.

Yelp
Amazing experience!! So peaceful and such a beautiful float. I would highly recommend this for your itinerary if your visiting the area. We had Reed for our tour guide. He was super knowledgeable and such a fun guy. He's been in the business for 15 years! Great guy, awesome float, beautiful scenery... definitely a must!

Yelp
We booked a float trip with friends of ours and it had to be rescheduled due to downed trees. While we were disappointed that it had to be rescheduled and our friends had to miss it, we are truly grateful that this company checks out the river BEFORE they send a boat out. They quickly refunded me for our friends tickets and were very apologetic despite this being out of their control. My family was able to reschedule our float trip and it could not have been more perfect. It was a beautifully sunny day. The tour was very smooth and enjoyable. Our guide, Chris, was very knowledgeable and told us lots of interesting things about the area. He was great at answering any questions people had along the way. The rafts keep in contact with each other as they go, alerting each other of animals or places to avoid-as the river is constantly changing. Our family loved everything about this experience and would do it again. And recommend it to anyone heading out that way. Definitely worth the time and money. And, as a side note, tip your guide, people!!

Yelp
The float trip was amazing! We were in town for the week and I was looking for activities to do each day. I chose this place based on a Web search and I'm glad I did. The customer service was great and our guide, Sam was amazing! Sam was very knowledgeable and friendly, He made sure that we all got a chance to get pictures of the great views. We saw several bald eagles as well! Sam made the trip great! I Would recommend this place and Sam to anyone visiting the area.

Yelp
We went today for the 1:30 time. It was a hot and sunny day but as soon as we got into the river, we were comfortable. Our guide was awesome. He knew the history of the whole area and also knows wildlife very well. He had a great sense of humor and was talented with leading the raft down the river when it's still pretty high and faster. No worries though. It's a floating trip and we never got wet and if we encountered anything in the river that was more intense, our guide was an expert and we never felt it. I can't remember our guide's name but he was from California and has lived in the area for 10 years. He knows his stuff!! Great trip! Worth the money and would do it again when we are able to return.
google avatar

Morgan D.

Yelp
Our float trip was the hi-light of our Jackson Hole stay. Our man Zack was very professional and knowledgeable of his environment. Easy on /off the raft, no wet feet. The peace and quiet and sense of solitude were amazing. We saw mainly eagles and ospreys, no mammals this trip. They do usually see moose and sometimes bears. Would go again in an instant..
google avatar

Libby N.

Yelp
We had the best time out on the snake river with this tour company! Zack was very knowledgeable of the nature and was attentive to all of our needs. This tour offers incredible views of the Tetons multiple times on the tour. While we did not see much wildlife when we went, our tour guide did say we are much more likely see them in the late summer and winter months.
google avatar

Dana M.

Yelp
Amazing views, extremely relaxing and enjoyable. It's definitely a slow float. You will not get wet at all. I have two teens that got very bored after the first thirty minutes. We were on the river for a solid hour and a half so it's a long time to literally be floating. Make sure to take your sunscreen!
google avatar

Russ S.

Yelp
Certainly worthy of 5 stars. My wife and I took the 5pm trip earlier this week. Although the weather wasn't ideal (damn you smoke!) our guide Jay made up for it. I was not expecting the trip to be so informative but Jay kept us entertained the entire time. Him plus a clear day, this trip will be worth every penny.

Yelp
We just did a float trip with Solitude and I cannot recommend them enough. They pick you up at the meeting point short of Grand Teton at the Jenny Lake turnoff. The 'float trip parking' west of the Snake River is clearly marked. You park there, walk over to the bathrooms near the river at your designated time and they show up with 2-3 transport vans at your designated time. Drive to launch is maybe 15-20 minutes, and you get in the boat attached to your van. Easy peezy lemon squeezy! We had Justin as our guide and he was fantastic. We were a family of 4 floating with another group of 6. Our shy 9-year old son is risk averse and our daughter is risk-propense and Justin was perfect for both. Beautiful float down the Snake, gorgeous views of the Tetons, and rapids, and scenic and awesome views of bald eagles. Not unruly but fun enough to get a splash from rapids if you want it. So the only regret I have is that I didn't know if upon dropoff we should tip Justin because he mos def deserved it. I mean, our package deal with other Jackson Hole lodging and fun included this Solitude float, and it's not pricey but it's a cost. Now, it's also the US and people may expect tips as they should. Euros don't tip or expect tips but then again they get paid a living wage and are provided civilized health care compared to our Ayn Randian Trump-care hellscape. So I wish I had brought some cash for tip. YMMV and you may not think your guide/pilot deserves a tip, which I get. But Justin DEFINITELY deserves one. He gave all kinds of background on wildlife, piloted the raft through tight and fun channels, and provided a TON of historical background about the Snake and Tetons and the area. I wish the float was for 4 hours instead of 2, because it is simply the best relaxation you can get here in the area short of a spa. Highly recommend.

Yelp
We have used Solitude twice on two different trips to Jackson. They were excellent both time. We recommend either the sunrise or the sunset floats to see more animals. First trip we saw bald eagles, beavers, lots of birds and even a young black bear. Second trip we again saw lots of birds, bald eagles, beavers and it was amazing to see the changes in the river in the two years since our last trip. Our kids ranging in age first trip six to fifteen and second trip eight to seventeen really enjoyed it. The youngest spent most of the trip hanging over the side playing with water. The scenery is beautiful. We took many pictures. The guides were very knowledgeable. Well worth doing.

Yelp
I wanted to go on a float trip down the Snake River and this company was great. Our guide was awesome. I am writing this over a month later, and cannot remember his name. But he was so entertaining while guiding us down the river. We didn't see much in the way of wildlife on our trip, but had a good time anyways.
google avatar

Sue C.

Yelp
Awesome float trip! Highly recommend! This company was spot on from start to finish! Justin was such an excellent guide possessing much knowledge and enthusiasm. We were quite fortunate to see two bald eagles, a mother moose and child, and a bull moose!!!

Yelp
My family and I had a GREAT time doing the scenic float trip down the Snake River with Solitude Float Trips. Our guide Bernie was patient and funny. He let each of my kids take turns steering the boat. The scenery was spectacular. We saw a prong-horn, 3 bald eagles, and an osprey. The only reason any of us got wet were because of my family members sticking their hands in the water and flicking water at each other. Otherwise we would have stayed totally dry the entire trip. I was also appreciative for Bernie's recommendations of places to go to eat and things to do.

LF L.

Yelp
This was a true highlight of our trip to the Tetons and to Yellowstone. The team was great about communicating with us before the trip, answered logistics questions with kind patience (it was downpouring right before we left), and explained the process with clarity and humor. But with an emphasis on safety and quality of experience. Justin was our guide. He had a keen eye to point out wildlife, offered a fun game for the kids, and seemed to love his job. It may have been his 20th trip that week, but to us, it felt like his first. His enthusiasm and expertise were that great. We highly recommend!
google avatar

Heather S.

Yelp
This excursion no doubt deserves Yelp's "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" rating. If you're looking to explore Grand Teton national park without having to drive, then why not take a boat trip down Snake river. It's a great way to take in the breath taking views that Grand Teton NP has to offer as well as witness some of its wildlife in their own natural habitat. Thank you to our rad tour guides, Justin and Andy. Not only did they make this trip fun but also a very educational one. They had a story for almost everything we saw along the way. All in all, I'd love to do it all over again!

Yelp
Our guide was Mike V. He was very knowledgeable about the area and animals. We really enjoyed our trip. Beautiful scenes!

Yelp
We had a day and a half to spend in Jackson Hole/Grand Teton National Park, and chose the Solitude Float Trip as a good way to experience some of the highlight views of the Tetons and the Snake River. I was traveling with my mom, and this ended up being a great activity that suited both of our interests-- a little bit of a novelty/adventure floating down the river and seeing wildlife and mountain views, but also very slow, leisurely and relaxing with the oversight of a guide, who was great and entertaining! I would recommend- especially to families with mixed ages and interests.

Matt I.

Yelp
We took a guided trip down the snake river this morning with an excellent pair of guides. Our driver, Ross, was knowledgeable, skilled and pointed out some incredible history, scenery and wildlife. The tour was professional, safe and so much fun. We got to know the others on our cruise from around the country and really enjoyed our experience. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone looking for a unique view of Grand Teton National Park

Sheila R.

Yelp
Fantastic float trip with this company! Our group of 6 thoroughly enjoyed the 2 hours. Goes right past the Tetons on the Snake River. Our guide, Justin, was full of information, interesting facts and helpful tips of what to do in Jackson Hole too. This is an easy float anyone can enjoy. Top notch excursion; don't miss booking with this company!

Cora M.

Yelp
Bernie was our guide for the early morning float down the Snake River. He pointed out the wildlife (eagles, birds, etc.) before we even had a chance to ask what they were. He also shared stories about the history of the Tetons and was a pleasure to talk to. Some guides can be stuffy and not say much unless you ask a question, but Bernie was exactly the opposite! Really glad we booked with Solitude!

Kauper ..

Yelp
This was a trip highlight! My family and I did the 9:30 float trip after it was recommended to us by friends. We were also told to request Justin as our guide. Justin was very knowledgeable and had a great personality. Solitude was also great about ensuring the guests were safe and comfortable. The float trip was relaxing and peaceful and it doesn't get much better than having the Tetons for our view! We would absolutely come back and do this again!
google avatar

Levin T.

Yelp
We went on a Solitude float trip, and it was wonderful. The boatman was very knowledgeable and pointed out many different river and geologic features as well as making sure we all saw the wildlife. Eagles, otters, mule deer, elk, and so much more! I highly recommend them.

Monica A.

Yelp
Don't miss out on this :) Review of Solitude Float Trips This is a roughly 2 hour (depending on time of year and water level) gentle float on the Snake River within Grand Teton National Park. It was one of the best parts of our trip! Pros: guide is extremely knowledgeable and can share plenty of biological, environmental, and practical information about the area. They were punctual and didn't waste any time getting us through the safety protocol and onto the float. The scenery is of course, spectacular. Be aware that there are other scenic floats offered, but if you research their float maps, this is the company that floats the farthest north on the river, which means you are actually in the national park. Other companies offer floats from Jackson which also have views of the Grand Teton mountains, but are not in that protected area. We saw bald eagles and other birds on our trip, but if your'e lucky you might get to see a moose or a bear. It was extremely safe and the guide was able to turn the float multiple times on the river, making sure everyone had access to great pics and wildlife sightings. Dress in layers- the weather can change quickly but also the sun is strong at that altitude, so even with sunscreen loose light long sleeves are a plus. The seats are a little hard, but by shifting around regularly you can alleviate the discomfort. Overall it was amazing and I would highly recommend it!!!

R. L.

Yelp
What a wonderful, relaxed trip down the Snake River! Justin was a fabulous guide - navigating expertly down the river, pointing out wildlife long before any of us even had a clue (saw two eagles and even caught a glimpse of a moose! among other interesting bird and wildlife), and sharing stories about the landscape and area history. A totally enjoyable morning.

Morgan W.

Yelp
My family and I did a float trip today with Colby Colonel. First off- amazing name, that alone gave us high expectations... and boy did Colby deliver! He manned the raft with grace and ease & informed us of everything from the origins of the 27 different climbing routes on the Grande Teton to identifying every bird, fish, and mammal species we did - or didn't- come across during our trip. We left the raft feeling relaxed, educated, and extremely satisfied with our time on the snake river and with Colby! Would 10/10 recommend. And might we mention that Colby is a true ambassador for all the national parks, we may never do a beach vacation again! P.S. my father loved his time with him and that is not always an easy feat to accomplish. Thanks Colby & Solitude for an awesome trip

Yelp
I took myself and my 11 year old on the float trip. We had a fantastic time. Perfect for those who want to calmly float the Snake River. Our tour guide was Justin. He was awesome!! Answered all our questions . Was very nice and friendly. We will definitely do it again .
google avatar

Mark A.

Yelp
Andy took care of us! Very knowledgable guide. This was an awesome way to see the inners of Jackson Hole. Relax look and listen. Beats driving and not knowing what's around you. Highly suggest! Thanks Andy!!
google avatar

Lesa T.

Yelp
What a wonderful outdoor adventure. Not a drop of water on you. Stunning views of the Tetons from the Snake River. Saw three bald eagles and one huge nest. Zach was a great guide and we learned so much history about the area. You will not be disappointed in this easy float trip!! Take water and a snack and enjoy.

Tammy R.

Yelp
Family and I enjoyed a fantastic float trip down the Snake River. Our guide, Kris was awesome and shared a lot of information about the Tetons and the area. The views were spectacular and words can't describe the beauty. We were lucky to see eagles and a moose. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.
google avatar

Misty H.

Yelp
Professional yet casual tour guide Justin met us promptly at our pick up spot and got us to the drop off point, and into the water right on time. He was super friendly and great with the kids. I really enjoyed how knowledgeable he was about the history of the area, and different geological and animals facts. He knows his stuff! Made the float very enjoyable to learn all that he shared. We saw a few bald eagles, a bear, a bull moose, and an elk! I would highly recommend this company and ask for Justin!

Matthew M.

Yelp
Booked the ~1 1/2 hour Snake River float trip for my wife, two kids (14 and 10 years old) and myself. It was great! Simple logistics, clear instructions on where to meet and what to bring. Our guide (Justin) was terrific, talking a lot about the scenery, wildlife and history of the park - very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. And floating in the raft we got some really terrific view of the mountains, more fun than driving and stopping at viewpoints. Highly recommended!
google avatar

Slouise D.

Yelp
What a perfect excursion! We floated along the Snake river. The staff was great got you on and off raft without a hitch. Justin was our guide. He was a model of customer satisfaction. Informative but not too chatty. It was so peaceful to float along the graceful peaks of the Teton range. It was an example of agility in motion Justin maneuvering the oars around the rocky shoals and deadwood snags. We saw eagles geese ducks elk and pronghorns along our journey. Pick Solitude!
google avatar

Louise M.

Yelp
An early morning float trip with Solitude Float Trips is the opportunity to see a side of Grand Teton National Park the few experience. The staff is professional and very knowledgeable about the Snake River and the flora and fauna and geology of the area. Our guide had an attitude that showed that even though he had made the trip many, many times, he still saw each time with open eyes.
google avatar

Diane L.

Yelp
Flawless, wonderful experience. impossible to ask for more. Float trip location is IDEAL -- the entire route is gorgeous. Courteous fun, and informative guide. The entire experience was a delight. Efficient and well run !

J H.

Yelp
Enjoyed a beautiful, informative float trip with Reed Thornock as our Snake River Guide. The experience was the highlight of our Yellowstone/Grand Teton vacation. I thought 2 hours would be a long time, but it went by so quickly. Reed is so knowledgeable from the geology of the land to the animal inhabitants, there is no question too obtuse for him to illuminate. The river was gentle, the boat is comfortable. You can sit below the edge or on the boat's edge. There is just no better way to see the beautiful Grant Tetons than on the Snake River Float trip!
google avatar

Anna M.

Yelp
Great float trip. The guide was very fun and very informative. It was a beautiful experience.

corinna b.

Yelp
On time. Professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Can't beat the scenery. Expertise at maneuvering river. Didn't get a splash of water on us which was appreciated because it was 50 degrees outside.

Zachary M.

Yelp
Gorgeous views on the scenic float. Amazing views of the Tetons! Bernie was an amazing guide who was personable and extremely knowledgeable. Would highly recommend!
google avatar

AJ C.

Yelp
This was a great way to see the Snake River and Teton Mountains! Justin was awesome and was very knowledgeable about the area, including the history. It began to rain and hail towards the end of our trip, but Justin was in control and provided us with ponchos, this is the only time we got wet :) I would definitely recommend doing this when in Jackson Hole!

Rick B.

Yelp
My wife and I had a truly enjoyable day watching wildlife in Yellowstone National Park. Madly was waiting for us when we came out of our motel. She made sure we were comfortable and provided us with hot coffee. We had asked to see wolves and grizzlies if possible. Even though she could not promise to produce, she did. We were in place in the Lamar Valley before dawn. She provided long range scopes and binoculars for us to watch a 10 member wolf pack for over an hour and a half. While we were entranced with the wolves, she spotted a grizzly a long ways off. It appeared to us to be a rock moving, but soon it became clear that it was a grizzly. Mid morning she drove further, set out a lovely picnic and spotted mountain goats on the cliff in front of us. Muddy was extremely knowledgeable with background in biology and study of the animals in Yellowstone. Our day was exactly what we wanted and more than we expected. We highly recommend using Wolf Tracker to guide you in the observation of wildlife in Yellowstone.

Ryan C.

Yelp
Reed was an awesome guide. Friendly, funny, and knowledgeable about the history of the area. It was amazing way to wrap up a week long trip. The river was quiet and the sights beautiful.

Chris H.

Yelp
Fun ride down the Snake River with a knowledgeable guide. We saw two eagles and an Osprey, we were thrilled. It was a gorgeous day and a thrill to be on the water.
