Solly Hotel Paris (Paris, Île-de-France) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Set on a leafy square in the 3rd arrondissement, a short stroll from Le Marais, Solly Hotel was once the home of the architect Salomon de Caus, a true Renaissance man if there ever was one. De Caus was also an engineer, mathematician, musical theorist, and a designer of fountains and gardens, and his Parisian residence was a testament to his love of beauty and symmetry, qualities that are still reflected in the building’s modern incarnation as a boutique hotel. From the elegant marble and stone façade to its light-filled rooms and cheerful communal spaces, including a breakfast room with an Art Nouveau–style glass roof, Le Solly is luminous, charming, and rich with aesthetically pleasing details." - Tablet Hotels

We had a wonderful stay at Solly Hotel in Paris. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were surprisingly spacious - especially by Paris standards, from what we’ve heard. We were lucky enough to also receive a complimentary upgrade to a room overlooking the balcony, which was such a lovely touch and greatly appreciated. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay, even going the extra mile by taking delivered laundry back up to our room for us. The only downside was that the rooms didn’t have a fridge, which we had assumed would be standard. It wasn’t a deal breaker, but it did mean we couldn’t store food or drinks overnight. Something to keep in mind if that’s important to you. In saying this, you are offered any endless supply of water from the common eating area by way of reusable jug they give you. Overall, a great stay in a clean, comfortable hotel with excellent service - we’d definitely recommend Hotel Solly.

Our family vacation began at The Solly Hotel, with four rooms booked. From the beginning of our stay to the end, it was nothing short of WONDERFUL! The hotel is beautiful, rooms are comfortable, and the staff went above and beyond to be friendly, helpful, and accommodating! Paul, in particular, was an Angel, helping us load luggage and communicate with our driver as we were unexpectedly rushing to catch our train…all AFTER his shift had ended and he was off the clock! We wholeheartedly recommend The Solly Hotel and when back in Paris, this will be our home base again!

We stayed at Solly Hotel and arrived late in the evening to find our room clean and ready for us. The hotel’s location is excellent—central and convenient. Service and hospitality were outstanding, making our stay very pleasant and comfortable. The hotel offers great amenities, and the breakfast was delicious, with a nice variety of options to start the day.

I booked a stay at Solly Hôtel Paris two weeks ago but due to an unforeseen family medical emergency, I was forced to cancel. I provided documentation of a cancer diagnosis and explained that I needed to stay home to care for my aunt who was going to travel with me on this Paris trip. Despite this, and despite the fact that my trip was still two months away, the hotel refused to issue any kind of refund or credit or change of future date. Their response was cold and robotic, hiding behind their “non-refundable” “non changeable” policy with zero compassion or flexibility. This wasn’t a change of mind—it was a genuine emergency, and I even provided a doctor’s note. Most reputable hotels would show basic human decency in situations like this. It’s clear this is about money, not hospitality. The room could easily be rebooked, yet they chose to keep the payment. Disappointing, heartless, and a reminder that not all hotels value their guests. I would strongly advise against booking here if you want peace of mind or any customer care. Policies should not be so rigid that they override basic empathy and ethics.

Lovely hotel in Paris. The room was wonderful - compact but well-appointed. The bed was comfortable and the shower was lovely, if a bit cramped. It was hard to keep water from getting onto the floor of the bathroom. The windows opened onto the park across the street. The view was pleasant, but the park seemed to be a haven for loud, disruptive people in the night and early morning hours (2am - 5am). Even with the windows closed, the noise made sleeping challenging. The breakfast was delightful with a wide assortment of breakfast foods. We also appreciated the location in Marais and the proximity to the Metro. It is nicely located for exploring any part of Paris.

We LOVED this hotel. Though small and "boutiquey" it was light and airy from the lobby to the rooms. The staff was friendly and polite and the location was perfect for us. My only suggestion is that they not charge for using the coffee machine. It was the only hotel that did so during our 12 day trip and it was the most expensive hotel we stayed at. Surely they can work the cost of a cup of coffee into their guest fee. That said, we'll stay here again when we return!

Our stay at the Solly was all we could have hoped for – welcoming, friendly and helpful staff; a stylish, well-equipped and maintained room (scrupulously cleaned each day); and generously supplied buffet breakfasts, offering an imaginative range of options – self-service, with cheerful help readily at hand if needed. The hotel faces onto a smallish park and our room had a fabulous view over Paris. There are Metro stations nearby, and a main street (Boulevard de Sébastopol) offers an easy 20-minute walk to the Île de la Cité. The Sébastopol is busy and unsurprisingly can be a little noisy but it contributes to the neighbourhood feeling safe, and the closed windows are effective in cutting out most of any sound – we didn’t find either external or internal noise to be an issue. We hope to return to Paris soon and fully intend to go back to the Solly when we do.

I'll preface by saying this is our second time in Paris, and our first time trying Solly Hotel. My party of 3 (2 adults, 1 child age 9) wanted to stay at the same hotel as last time (Astotel at 123 Sebastopol), but it was unavailable for suite to accommodate 3 people.||We do NOT recommend Solly hotel. Although the location is excellent, the room itself leaves a lot be desired. ||Here is my breakdown:||1. Location: Excellent. Close to 2 metro stops. ||2. Room: Our "suite" was #18 on the first floor. It is right next to the stairs and the elevator, so you hear EVERYTHING due to the absolutely abysmal insulation in this hotel. If you are looking for a quiet respite after a busy day in the city, This.Is.Not.It.||3. Cost: Our "suite" had 1 king bed and 1 pull out couch. It also had 1 tub/shower and 1 toilet with sink in a separate room for 700 euro/night. To be clear, that's 1 shower and 1 toilet for 700 euro/night. In contrast, our suite at Astotel had 2 king beds, 2 tub/showers, and 2 toilets for 500 euro/night. Our suite at Astotel was essential 2 full rooms with 2 full bathrooms connect in one safe space. ||Bottom line: If you are a family of 3 or 4, save money and have a quiet, comfortable stay at Astotel, across the street from Solly.||Solly Hotel was the low point of an otherwise great visit to Paris.
