Solo Pane in Bath made our wedding day unforgettable with their exceptional baked goods and warm, family-oriented service. From our very first conversation, the entire team—Simone, his father, and his stepmother—were all in communication with us to ensure they delivered exactly what we envisioned. It truly felt like working with family. They cared deeply about every detail, and their dedication was evident in the final results. Never in our wildest dreams could we have imagined what they provided us with on our wedding day. The fresh, warm bread they baked for our tables received endless compliments from our guests, setting a welcoming tone as they arrived. The finger desserts were equally spectacular, offering a wide range of delicious options that had everyone raving. Our wedding cake, though, was the true masterpiece. After a cake tasting that felt more like a luxurious event—where we tried and took home three absolutely stunning cakes to share with our family—Simone and his team delivered the perfect cake for us. It was everything we dreamed of and more. After the wedding, all we could think about was diving into the leftover cake the next day, and it did not disappoint! Solo Pane is as authentic as it gets—transporting you straight to Italy, right here in Maine. We couldn’t be more grateful to Simone and his family for making our wedding day even more special with their passion and artistry.

Google
The most incredible place! Both the staff and the customers were incredibly friendly and we received multiple suggestions for what to get. The pistachio and the chocolate hazelnut cornettos were so delicious, so was the drip coffee - I will be dreaming of the next time I can come here!

Oh such a lovely time each and every time! Fresh breads, Italian pastries, and divine gelato and pizza. Staff is exceptional and helpful. Great atmosphere to do work or catch up with a friend. Inside and outside seating. Love going every time!

A slice of Italy in the midcoast. Solo Pane e Pasticceria transported us to the European bakeries we often fall in love with during our travels. From the moment we walked inside, we were taken aback by the smell of fresh bread and the dozens of picture-perfect pastries. My partner had a savory snack, and I had a yummy pastry filled with hazelnut butter that was just incredible. We were both impressed by the quality, presentation, and taste. At $5-7 on average for a pastry, they aren’t necessarily the cheapest, but they are worth it. Add a coffee from their dedicated coffee bar, and you’ll get an authentic Italian breakfast for around $10. I also heard they do aperitifs… I so wish I lived closer! The “worst” thing about Solo Pane is having to decide what you’ll order — everything looked divine.

Come here every time you can. I mean it. The pizza is incredible and the desserts are perfect. My husband and mom are both very picky and would eat here 3 times a day. If you’re visiting Bath or stopping through - the whole street has lots of charm, community, and history. Spend some quality time here and be sure to check out the historic building next door at Union & Co.

Food was fine, nothing special and kinda pricey. The fillings are skimpy compared to what we were accustomed to in Italy, but at least they weren’t greasy. I got an almond cornetto and it was kind of dry. My daughter’s cinnamon one was fine. The chai latte is not good, but at least it was only $5, my daughter rated her tiny $5 hot chocolate a 6/10 which is pretty bad for her since she likes anything chocolate. Staff was rough. My daughter and I were the only people in there and were asked multiple times what we wanted even though we kept saying we were trying to decide. At one point a staff person overheard my daughter talking to me about what she was deciding between, grabbed one(she hadn’t decided or asked for one yet) and then asked us if we wanted anything else. I told her my daughter hadn’t even decided which pastry she wanted and the woman was visibly irritated. My daughter then ultimately did decide that that was the one she wanted and felt uncomfortable telling the woman. Honestly uncomfortable best describes the entire experience here. For $7/cornetto just give us 5 minutes to decide what we want. There was absolutely nobody behind us and no reason to rush.

Walked into this cozy coffee shop after a rough night of sleeping in a campground. The pouring rain sent us looking for warm coffee in a real mug. We were warmly greeted by the staff and in particular Emily who was friendly and helpful. We were able to regroup there with delicious hot coffee and a ham and cheese croissant (and my husband had savory scone). Highly recommend.

My response to eating here for breakfast is meh or average. It seems popular yet the breakfast food/pastries were no different than any other bakery. Nothing jumped out at us except for ordering something that the server behind the counter said was vegetarian but was not… which unfortunately was discovered after second bite! Ordered ice coffee with almond milk but it was served black without the milk. Also, there is only one size drink which is small considering the price. 5 pastries and an iced coffee for two people was $48, and with tip $55. Went here based on the reviews but came away disappointed… was expecting the wow factor which never materialized. A one and done for us.

Yelp
What a beautiful and intimate little bakery! Parking was a breeze with plenty of street parking as well as lots nearby. The Sponge cake was in fact spongy filled with a soft custard. The dipiomatico was essentially a cake version of baklava which was great! Both the plum jam croissant and chocolate croissant were buttery and flaky. The chocolate was my preferred of the two. The breads are baked fresh in which we tried their milk bread and semolina bread. I loved the texture and taste of all their items. Staff were more than happy to help with smile on their faces. Would love to come again and recommend others to as well!

Yelp
I'd give it 10 stars if I could. Sweet and savory Italian pastries so good that it impressed a room of teenagers. Personal fave was the variety of focaccia -- I tried as many as I could get my hands on and was impressed by all. As good as anything I ever had in Florence. Highly recommended but get there early as they sell out fast.

Yelp
I lobe this cafe! I'm anxious to know when they are opening their annex next door. Will it be similar or a new concept, like more of a lunch/ dinner menu?

Joe S.

Yelp
I went in here looking for rolls. I ordered a few other things to try and it was $92 and they ask for a tip. I just about walked out when I saw the price. Ridiculous prices, not clearly marked. The food was "ok" but not anywhere near worth the prices! Definitely will not be back! I know a great Italian Bakery in Lewiston that has just as good or better products for less money. Only rich coastal elites and tourists will like this place.

Yelp
Ordered a dozen cannolis Over priced, under filled I am embarrassed to bring them on Christmas Eve

Yelp
Lovely bakery. The selection of savory is smaller than their sweets but I tried the Margarita and It was pretty amazing. I'm pretty sure It was on focaccia bread. Very light and just good! The persons behind the counter were nice and helped me with my questions. Their bathroom was clean. And they had seating indoor and outdoors. I would come back to try all their sweet things.

Yelp
Was in Bath recently for a wedding and was desperate need of a coffee and breakfast snack and this place hit the spot. Hardest part was selecting a pastry, they all looked amazing. Had some croissants and cornetti, so beautiful, buttery, and tasty. Their lattes were perfection, and they also have nondairy milk options. Staff is very friendly as well. Prices are steep, paid over $30 for two lattes and two pastries.

Ariel E.

Yelp
An Italian bakery with the absolute best pastries and bread in Bath. They have lots of different cornetti (flaky, buttery pastries similar to croissants), slab-style pizza, a variety of breads, and delicious little tarts called cestini in several flavors. The coffee drinks are strong and delicious, the service is friendly. You can tell whoever runs this place has a true passion and gift for flavors and food. Solo Pane is a bit more expensive than the other options in town, but the quality matches the price. My one suggestion is that I'd like to see more scones and muffins. I know those aren't specifically Italian, but that's often what I'm craving when I'm hungry for a baked good. They usually have one scone flavor, but by the time I get there they are sold out. I would also like to see a couple of more wholesome options offered like perhaps a homemade granola bar or a whole grain morning glory muffin. The seating is very tight and not comfortable for staying awhile because it's a small space, so if you're meeting a friend there, I'd recommend taking your food to the waterfront if it's warm out, where there are plenty of benches.

Yelp
Very pleasant and helpful staff. Fine breads and tasty pastries. Canoli filled when ordered and delicacies to savor. Have a cup of their proper coffe and indulge yourself. If you appreciate a fine pastry shop you will stop by often.

Kasia G.

Yelp
Lovely bakery with sweet and savory options. The creativity and attention to detail is beautiful, and you can tell the long hours that went into each item! I wish I could take home one of everything. Already can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Great spot! Reminiscent of Boston's North End. Friendly service. Excellent breads.

J. P.

Yelp
Probably okay under ideal circumstances but my girlfriend got a lobster tail and they failed to fill it. My crostini (Italian version of croissant) was good considering it was made much earlier in the day. $14 for two pastries and one was just a shell! Not going to give them 1 star but kinda sucks

Michelle B.

Yelp
Such a cute little bakery! It definitely smells delicious as you're walking towards it. The town is absolutely adorable with all the brick work.

Diana G.

Yelp
I have visited Solo Pane several times now. The staff is always welcoming and helpful. The cases are full of pastries that I have not had before, but each one has been very flakey and tasty as I make may way through their offerings. The bread is amazing and fresh. I do not drink coffee, but other guests rave about it. They have recently added some outdoor seating. The ambiance is like a cafe in Italy.

Eileen G.

Yelp
We stopped to check this place out last week and bought a couple of delicious croissants. Definitely quite pricey. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The pastries and breads looked fabulous. But at that price point, I don't think I'll be a frequent customer.

Yelp
The best Italian bakery i've ever frequented in Maine--and one of the best i've ever visited outside of Italy! The aroma when you enter is just like a Roman Pasticceria with a number of exquisite biscotti & cornetti options. The coffee is superb! The white pizza/focaccia is as good as any I ever had living in & travelling to Italy over the past 30+ years.

Jennifer B.

Yelp
Special find -- homemade unique flavors of Italian pastries. Totally different from anything you've tasted at Boston North End "Mike's Pastries"

Marie B.

Yelp
Grazie mille, Nylaina, for your superb advice and help, and to Simone per un cornetto stupendo e uno stirato fanstastico. Still soaring on recollections of savoring Simone's creations and yesterday's time in Solo Pane, the place in which I can get closest to Rome on this side of the Atlantic. Bravissimi a tutti.

Robert S.

Yelp
Great service, lots of baked goods to choose from (they are all good!) and excellent coffee. You are making a mistake if you don't drop by!

DC B.

Yelp
First, I am so sorry that people have had issues with the staff-- we've found them cheerful and welcoming at all times every week. Second, our crowd is picky about their coffee, especially cortados, and we're so grateful to have such a well made cup to sip when visiting Solo Pane. Third, these kinds of hand made baked goods are by nature time consuming to make and are ephemeral-- can't sell them for full price tomorrow. Add the quality of the ingredients and Solo Pane is not overpriced, despite what some people have written in their reviews. As for the "we're from a big city and we have superior bread" crowd, I think we'll have to agree to disagree because Solo Pane holds up to bakeries in every major city in the US and a few in Italy. I am hopeful they expand into the space next door because it gets very crowded, even in the winter, although their outside space has eased some of the congestion in nicer weather. Their cornettis are a family favorite (similar to a croissant at a French bakery). The savory focaccia offerings likewise. We eat a slice of Solo Sando toast every morning-- and use the other breads for family gatherings. The milk buns are incredibly versatile for breakfast sandwiches and as dinner rolls. They have a nice selection of Italian extras such as olive oil. I only miss their selling plain croutons-- a mix of their breads cubed and so useful for everything from french onion soup to bread pudding.

Yelp
We are fortunate to have a bakery like this nearby. Our first visit today we were very impressed at the assortment of based goods. Sourdough bread, baguettes, loaves, pastries and focaccia pizza. The aroma was intoxicating and the staff super friendly and knowledgeable. Will be returning regularly.

Aht V.

Yelp
A very special places with lots of choices of Italian goodies. Many are exceptionally delicious. Drinks are okay. Definitely I will come back again and again.

Denise R.

Yelp
The absolute best bread and pastries! So hard to leave without getting everything! Service was great, everyone was happy and the shop ran smoothly.

Yelp
Amazing food and coffee not to be missed Just few minutes off Highway Love this place ambiance is cool and people Great

Perry V.

Yelp
Solo Pane is such an incredible bakery. Their pastries and breads are such great quality and it's obvious that a ton of work and creativity go into everything they bake. I really hope the community supports Solo. Running a first class bakery means long hours and hard physical work and I commend you on your efforts. For Yelp reviewers that leave reviews of bakeries based upon their prices should go back to Walmart and buy their bakery goods. For starters, try making a laminated dough from scratch and perhaps you'll have a little more respect for fine bakers.

Christine R.

Yelp
We have visited the bakery several times. Absolutely 5 star on the pastries and pizza and other wonderful treats. I would give it a 1 star for customer service as the individuals working the check out are not friendly at all. I keep thinking that it will get better, but it never does. It would just be nice if they greeted you with a smile or said thank you for visiting.

David P.

Yelp
I suppose for Bath, and rural Maine, this place may seem like an upscale bakery. But if you're used to high quality, big city artisan bread bakeries, you will be disappointed. I suppose we're spoiled by the amazing bakeries in Philadelphia, where we're from, but this place is rather silly. For example, seven dollars for a truly mediocre stirato baguette. I could go on, but suffice it to say, if you know what truly good bread should taste like, this is not the place for you.

Andy C.

Yelp
The whole family loved this place. It felt like we were relaxing in Europe. Food and baked goods tasty. And coffee to boot. The whole experience was too notch.

Mark F.

Yelp
Yes! Welcome to Bath, ME's "Little Italy"! Aperitivo time! Great addition to the culinary scene making Bath, Maine a true gem!

Monique W.

Yelp
I was very disappointed with the $80.00 I spent on pastries that looked good. The pistachio filled croissant was overcooked, very crispy and carmalized not flakey like a croissant should be. Check out Ritual bake house and patisserie in Brunswick to see a properly made one! The creamed filled one was extremely dry and the cake tasted like bread. The other pantries were also very dry. The fillings however, were very good. Their problem is overcooking. I sadly will not go back. The staff was well informed and very pleasant. oh, and the pizza 2 slices for $19.00 was like a cracker crust, I know some people like that but, I do not.

Karen L.

Yelp
Finally had a chance to stop in Solo Pane. What treat! Everything tasted as yummy as it looked. The bread was delicious as was the pastries. Can't wait to go again. It's such a wonderful addition to Bath!

Renee P.

Yelp
I love this place! It always makes me feel a little like I'm in Italy! They have the best pastries, breads, cookies, coffees etc! Go now! Go!

Thomas S.

Yelp
Delicious cornetto's, sandwiches, and coffee. Modeled in the true Italian style with a classic ambiance. The staff is always helpful and friendly.

Stickman J.

Yelp
2 danishes and a seeded baguette for 22$ means I don't care how good it is. That is highway robbery and y'all should be ashamed.

Phill K.

Yelp
Great pastry selection and the cappuccino was delicious! I'll definitely be back for another visit!

K B.

Yelp
Great Italian bakery! Welcome to Bath. Excellent breads and a nice and ever changing selection of Italian pastries. The cannolo are filled to order.
