The food was delicious, especially the risotto it was exactly what I was hoping for, seasoned to perfection. The stuffed pizza took a little longer to arrive likely due to the Saturday crowd. The restaurant has dim lighting and a cosy atmosphere, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Overall it was a fantastic dining experience 😘

We had such a great experience! The food was absolutely delicious – fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried was cooked perfectly. On top of that, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Their service was fast, helpful, and they made us feel right at home. Highly recommend to anyone looking for good food and great hospitality. We’ll definitely be back! Regards Alex

I absolutely adore their food! The seafood risotto is a game changer—especially when you add that chilli oil; it’s just perfect. And let’s not forget the pizza and calamari, which are simply delightful.

This was the first restaurant we visited during our Tasmania trip! We chose it because of its high rating on Google. Although we saw some negative reviews, my overall experience was pretty good 👍 We went for dinner—there weren’t many customers at the time, but the food did take longer than expected 🥺 𝗪𝗲 𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 🧾 🦪 𝗧𝗮𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘀 💰𝟯𝟴 Black mussels cooked with tomato, onion, garlic, basil, and fresh chili, served with house bread 👍 The tomato flavor was rich, and the portion was decent, but overall, the taste was just average 🤤 🍝 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗮 💰𝟮𝟳 (𝘀𝗶𝘇𝗲: 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲) It was different from what I’ve had before—I’m not sure if it’s their unique version or an authentic variation. Their carbonara wasn’t made with cured pork and egg yolk, but it had a rich cheese and mushroom flavor, which was surprisingly good!! I also loved the texture of the penne 🤩🤩 🍕𝗕𝗕𝗤 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻 💰𝟮𝟭 (𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹) The chicken pizza was delicious! I loved the pan crust texture 😋 and the BBQ sauce was amazing!!

One of the best Italian places I’ve had in Australia! The food is amazing, and service was good too. Best to make a booking especially around peak hours as it gets very packed and the wait times can be quite long. The portions are quite large, these 2 pastas and pizza were shared between 3 very hungry people and it still filled us. We got the mushroom risotto, gamberi fettuccine and a half and half pizza with mafiosi (right) and avati (left). You get the option of choosing the type of pasta. Definitely recommend the risotto, very creamy and cheesy, mushroom flavour not too overpowering and just delicious. The gamberi pasta was also cooked to perfection, very generous serving of the prawns, the sauce was not too oily and greasy either. Pizza wise, mafiosi was definitely preferred over avati, very cheesy and generous toppings. Overall definitely highly recommend this place, I would want to eat here again if I have the chance!

Solo Pasta & Pizza is one of our absolute favourites! The food is always perfect – fresh, delicious, and full of flavour. You can really tell they care about quality. Every time we visit, we feel so welcomed, and the team always creates such a warm and friendly vibe. The atmosphere is relaxed yet lively, making it a great spot for both casual meals and a nice night out. Highly recommend if you’re in Sandy Bay and craving amazing Italian! The Croft Crew

Google
Average food. But the service and atmosphere were excellent. Our company of five enjoyed the food, but somehow it didn't click as 100% Italian food. The staff were very attentive and friendly and helpful. The price is on high end. Would recommend this place.

Yelp
My wife & I had an awesome meal here. I had the Sardo pizza and it was the best. My wife had the Marina pasta and raved. We would both totally recommend Solo.

Yelp
Being fairly new to trying a lot of Italian except the staples, I was going to go with the usual carbonara, but chose something different this time. I chose the diavolo , sweet chili, sweet soy sauce, mushrooms, chicken and cream. I have to say, it was absolutely delicious!!! Around the table we had chicken cacciatore, chicken carbonara, spaghetti bolognese, diavolo ravioli, BBQ pizza and garlic bread. Everyone was extremely happy with the meal, it was all delicious. Great prices, comfortable seating, good atmosphere and our waitress was fabulous! If you're looking for a good Italian meal, be sure to check out the great people at Solo!

Yelp
Highly enjoyable time whenever we visit. Owner and staff ALWAYS bend over backwards to give us the best dining experience possible. Highly recommend everyone order the Vampire Special for a garlic pizza as an entree

Yelp
Best Italian I have had in a long time. Try the Pork Ribs. The bone slips out CLEAN! Pizzas were magnificent. Pasta was perfect! 10/10!

Yelp
Wow. Great dinner. We went for the pasta, calamari, and salad. The calamari appetizer may have been the most tender calamari I've eaten. Served with a light crust of bread crumbs mixed with chili and a light fruit sauce. My husband had the lasagna, which he said was complex and interesting. I had the pasta con funghi, multiple types of mushrooms with a rich pesto sauce. I thought I wasn't hungry, but ate every bit. We ended with the mushroom & rocket salad - fresh, tender greens.

Yelp
While on holiday in Hobart with my daughter we booked a table at solo pasta & pizza and was absolutely blown away by the service we received as soon as we walked in. The dining room was packed and as such were not able to be seated immediately. The Manager/owner arranged seats for us at the bar provided us with menus and drinks while he made sure our table was ready as soon as possible. I had the Pork Ribs that were absolutely delicious and my daughter had the gnocchi which she said was the best she had ever eaten. When it was time to pay the bill we had not been charged for the drinks as the manager said due to the delay with our table the drinks were on the house. An excellent dining experience my only regret is we don't live it Hobart so we cant make a reservation every week.. Yelp
Really enjoyed the food. Entre servings were perfectly sized for us not very heavy eaters.

Yelp
Had cravings for pasta and ended up here after looking up some reviews. The place was busy so we sat at the counter rather than wait for a table when the owner / manager (?) came up to us with a proposition - he'll select a pasta dish for the both of us and if we didn't like them they'll be on the house. We were game so we said "sure" but in the back of my mind I'm thinking either they've got some slow selling dishes to move or perhaps somebody prepared the wrong order and there's two warm dishes of pasta already ready for us. When the dishes came out, after a reasonable preparation time, I ended with was a delightful spaghetti with marinara / napoletana sauce and shrimp / prawns while the wife ended up with fettuccine with a creamy napoletana sauce, salami, peppers and some chicken. Both dishes were quite good so it goes without saying we did end up paying for them. :)
