Update: Thanks Tuomas for the nice reply. 3.5 stars really. Although the rooms are really nice and the staff pleasant, if you stay on a room on the Yrjönkatu street side during the weekend, then be prepared to suffer no sleep. This is due to the “pumping” nightclubs nearby that play deafening music to assorted teen and post-teen revelers until 4am. During the daytime at the time of writing there is also construction across the street. When I mentioned the music on checkout they said they had tried to reason with the nightclub but to no avail. In that case, why not control the controllables and install shutters, blinds - anything to dampen the noise? Breakfast is strange and disappointing for an international hotel. Was fine for a two-night stay but I wouldn’t have wanted to eat it a third time. Cooked section of the breakfast is rare in not featuring any kind of potato option, fried or poached eggs and baked beans. Instead preferring two types of sausage, some rubbery omelet squares and pancakes. The rest of the breakfast is a weird melange - they could cut down on the number of options overall and do these better. Aside from that, it’s a solid option in a historic building with a great central location. A shame really. Could have been 5 stars if these two issues were fixed.
