SoLou Baton Rouge

We had brunch today, and everything we ordered was delicious. The hostess happily accommodated our seating preference, moving us from a cramped spot inside to a very nice table outside on the porch. I recommend the boudin queso as an appetizer. I ordered the Basic breakfast plate and it was very good, and a generous amount of food. I asked for the bacon to be crispy, and it was cooked perfectly. The corn grits are amazing. Highly recommend! Makenzie provided us with wonderful service, making our experience so pleasant.

Solou Restaurant delivered an outstanding dining experience, marked by excellent food, a welcoming ambiance, and exceptional service. The cuisine was beautifully prepared and full of flavor, and the mimosas were perfectly crafted and enjoyable. Our server, Maggie S., truly elevated the entire experience. Her level of professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail was exceptional. She was highly attentive without being intrusive, anticipated our needs before we had to ask, and ensured everything was seamless from start to finish. Her genuine care for guest satisfaction and exceptional customer service set a very high standard. Overall, an excellent experience driven not only by great food and atmosphere, but by truly outstanding service. Maggie S. is a standout and a major asset to Solou Restaurant.

I love SoLou! I am pescatarian so I have a lot of options here. Vegetarians could eat here, but there aren’t many options. I ordered the Zydeco Cauliflower last time I went and it was AMAZING! The thai sweet chili sauce they use is insanely good. All of the cocktails I’ve had there were good too. The service is okay, the waitresses/waiters are always nice but the food takes a long time to come out. To be fair, it is always busy when I have eaten there for lunch and dinner. I recommend getting dessert, especially if it’s your birthday! The tabletop s’mores are really cute and good, but the white chocolate bread pudding is the best I’ve ever had. Definitely recommend eating here for birthdays, special occasions, a casual lunch or dinner, a celebration, etc.

Great stop for delicious cocktails & food. The whole menu looked delicious we had trouble deciding what to order. We settled on the hot crawfish dip for an appetizer and split the shrimp po-boy. Both were delicious and the po-boy was large so perfect for sharing. Great place overall!

It was me and my girlfriends first time coming here today. We wanted to try something new and as servers we would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Even though it was super busy, the servers/host were amazing and very nice. I dont remember our servers name but she really likes green and we wrote bubble letters on our ticket. Shout to her and everyone else! Food was amazing!!

In town for a dance convention so I googled places to eat and SoLou came up as a top place so we decided to give it a try for Sunday brunch. It did not disappoint. It was packed when we got there. Hostess said there was a 30 min wait but we got seated in less than 15. Waitress was super nice. She recommended the LouBerry and margarita drink. We enjoyed them. Also we had the crabmeat cheesecake and hot crawfish dip and they both were delicious. For dessert, we had the bread pudding. All of it was 10/10. Also, they serve pork rinds complimentary while you wait on your food. Seemed like everyone was celebrating a birthday that day so I know the staff sung Happy Birthday at least 10 times while we were there, but they all did it with a smile! Even the manager was singing right along with them. She even came by checking on us a couple of times. Great atmosphere and good fresh food. Will def go back.

Unimpressed with my visit and food unfortunately. Really would give 3.5 stars. We had a party of 7 with a reservation at 1:15pm. I called them saying we were running a few mins late and was told that was fine and we would get seated once we got there. We arrived and waited almost 45 minutes before being seated! What’s the purpose of a reservation if we still have to wait?! The ambiance was good bo complaints there. Busy for Sunday brunch. The food left us feeling underwhelmed. The shrimp corn dogs tasted like they were right out of the freezer. The cauliflower was decent. The crawfish scramble was decent but literally had no seasoning, had to add salt n pepper. Just really disappointed because I came in with high hopes.

Amazing food and even better service! Lucy was the best, and she came in clutch with the recommendations! We got the crawfish scramble with the shrimp and grits sauce per Lucy’s recommendation, and it was absolutely DIVINE. Don’t miss out on this gem of a restaurant!

Fit in a table of 11 on short notice on Homecoming weekend. Manager personally serviced our table, and was very helpful and attentive. Appetizers were incredible, with a special recommendation for the boudin dip and the hot crawfish dip. Sandwiches were great. I had the crab and Brie grilled cheese, which was very good. They brought out special deserts for our 2 birthday boys. If we ever return to Baton Rouge, SoLou will be in our plans.

We were seated and greeted quickly. The table was small and quaint, exactly for 2 people and placed too close to the people behind us. I couldn't pull out the share and sit without bumping into the lady behind me. There was a bit of a distance from behind us on the other table so we were able to pull that table back. During our visit, the restaurant was hosting a Santa brunch. It was nice to see the kiddos with parents and family, Mrs. Clause and the Grinch walking around. This was a nice to along with the unlimited mimosas, meals, and the hot chocolate bar. Our waitress was amazing! She was pleasant, kind, professional, and attentive. We stated off with the shrimp corn dogs. They were fried to perfection and the corn dog taste was great. They were hot and fresh. The tenderness of the shrimp was also great. The only feedback is that it would have tasted much better had the shrimp been seasoned. Without the creole mustard dipping sauce, there was a bland taste. For our main dish, I had the crawfish omelette. The sauce was good, however the texture of the egg was less than desirable. It was made perfectly round in a skillet and gave the texture of powdered eggs. When I inquired about it. I was told that it was mixed with milk, whipped, and baked. I would have preferred it with a regular egg. My significant other had the smoked salmon and avocado toast and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Me and wife family came here to the restaurant for celebration. When we entered the restaurant we were greeted by staff. The staff were very friendly and polite. It was a wait because of the popularity of the restaurant. I started my meal with an old fashioned. The old fashioned was good and very light. I ordered the shrimp corn dogs and fries. The shrimp corn dogs were very tasty and the shrimp was cooked to the perfection. The batter was very light and a good combination with the shrimp. The fries were good and the perfect combination to the shrimp corn dog. The ambiance is very customer friendly.

Food and drinks were amazing! Great service! Shrimp corndog and frozen julip was awsome! Great vibe.

The service was great, and the food was delicious. I started with the shrimp corn dogs, then the shrimp and grits, followed by cotton candy for dessert. I would highly recommend SoLou.

Good food but service is really really lacking. Waitresses sitting while two bartenders are dealing with full bar ordering food and drinks. We could not even get salt and pepper for our eggs.
