Google
This bakery is #1 in Solvang! You have to try the almond kringle. They will cut it up to a quarter or half but it's seriously so good. Never tasted anything like it. Also the bucket of Danish cookies are so delicious and worth the money. The almond tart is so good too and cinnamon twist. Literally any pastry you get here is so good I am going back tomorrow before I head home lol

Shivani

Google
local favorite for its buttery Danish pastries, custom cakes, and cozy outdoor patio. What to try: Many rave about their Danish pastries (almond horns, cinnamon rolls), plus Sarah Bernhardt treats and eye-catching gingerbread houses during the holidays. Quick take: Great pastry selection and atmosphere, don’t expect perfection, but it’s still one of the top spots for a sweet bite in Solvang.

Google
Very quaint little shop. Offers many delish pastries. I asked for their recommendation. I got the danish with almond paste, a coconut macaron and a chocolate pastry that I can’t remember the name of. AMAZING!!!!! We didn’t eat it right away because we were full from breakfast but when we had later. We were just amazed. It’s a good thing we had already left solvang or we would have been in trouble.

J B E.

Google
Awesome Bakery. They have the best tasting danish butter cookies and the BEST hot chocolate. The staff is so sweet and friendly very welcoming. Amazing pastries and the cookies are to die for. Make sure you go early it can be crowded during the holidays season. I’ll definitely come back when I’m in town next time. They have amazing ginger bread houses as well.

Google
Pretty good bakery. Very cutesy danish vibes. The almond strudel was pretty good! They let you order just a slice of it instead of the whole thing too fyi. The apple strudel had too much cinnamon for my taste (I don’t like cinnamon). The raspberry danish was alright.

Yessica R.

Google
Cute little bakery with tons of selections. They have very cute household items. Service was ok. it could have been better. It gets crowded and unorganized line.

Sanjay B.

Google
Must visit most popular authentic Danish bakery in Solvang. We enjoyed their delicious and most sought after almond kringle danish strudel. The coffee is okay. The staff is very cheerful and nice

Hayley N

Google
A very cute bakery in Solvang. We tried three different pastries and they were all very yummy! Their price was good and the staff member who helped me was nice. Definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
We have been trying to come here for every trip to Solvang!!! We finally succeeded! It definitely did not disappoint! You approach a candy wonderland with a community bistro vibe. Everyone was just greeting each other, and we made friends while in line! The bakery itself smells so yummy and filled with so much deliciousness! I wanted one of everything! Luckily, we had the regulars share some secrets! We ordered a KRINGLE, LEMON BAR, LEMON DANISH, CHEESE DANISH, STRAWBERRY CHEESE DANISH, BEAR CLAW and a GINGERBREAD MAN. OMG!!! My family bakes, so when I say these are blessings from Santa's own magical oven, I mean it! The lemon bar was demolished by my hubby (lemon anything connoisseur) ... He liked the lemon Danish too but loved the bars! I cut a piece of the strawberry cheese Danish, and good gracious! Not too sweet and the combo of fresh strawberry jam and cheese on a flaky crust was heavenly. Didn't stop there! Tore into my Kringle, and the light flakiness with the perfect filling of custard, cinnamon, nutty flavor with a hint of magic went perfectly with my cafe sua (hot Viet coffee). The cheese Danish was perfectly creamy and not too sweet. Loved it!! The BEAR CLAW is waiting for my hubby...I stole a small piece! Crispy, lightly sweet with cinnamon and yummy! Don't tell him! They forgot to pack the gingerbread man, so we called and they put one aside for us!!! I can't wait to taste that yumminess. The service and bubbly personality of Bree and Barbara put everything over the top! That whole bakery is a welcoming community feel! Definitely coming back for the pumpkin bread and other goodies to taste!

Yelp
Cute shop! A variety of baked goods and little Knick knacks. Cheese danish- 5/10 Gingerbread man - 2/10 (according to my sister. Couldn't taste the spices of a traditional gingerbread man. Stale) Brownie- 7/10 my niece said it was good although there was too much frosting on it) Wicked sugar cookie - 5/10 nothing special. Cute printed cookie. Eclaire - 8/10 (according to my mom) she said it was good. Would buy it again when she's around town. Service was fine. Not too friendly nor rude.

Yelp
The cutest little bakery with charm and old school feel. The inside boasts lots of fun gift items! ...and is just lovely! The outside reminds me of the perfect bakery! Service is swift and friendly! We got quite a few Danish but ate them in the car all i had left was a strawberry cake

Yelp
I like the Sarah Bernhart cookies here the best. It's got a good almond cookie base, small ganache and chocolate top. Just the right balance, nothing over powering other parts. Also has apple strudle for breakfast, they can warm it up for you if you like. I saw small birthday cakes, great when you only need it for 2 or 3 people, as opposed to getting a giant 8 inch cake. I want to go back and try more. Service was great, they answered all my quetions and was able to provide shelf life for all the items.

Yelp
This bakery is located in heart of the Solvang. They sell a variety of baked goods. They also have different kinds of danish goods to choose from. They have hot and cold drinks too. They also sell packaged cakes, gummies and candy too. For ambiance this is a little bakery . There are couple of tables outside. It is better to order and leave since there might be enough tables. For service, the ladies helping customers was nice and friendly. No complaints about the customer service. P.S I would suggest going to this bakery when you're hungry since there are so many yummy pastries. lol

Yelp
Main destination for our trip to kick off the holiday season. This bakery had so much variety, even towards closing time and we got everything we came for. The Danish Cinnamon Crispies are addicting and were good even on the second day. The rum balls were also surprisingly mild which is great because lots of bakeries can over do it. The rice crispy treats were great too, definitely something you need to share. One thing I really appreciated was nothing was unnecessarily sweet, I could even taste the salt in the chocolate chip cookies which I love. The staff took their time with each customer, even after a long day in the middle of the holiday rush. Overall friendly and offered a great experience as a customer. And of course, this delivered on the Solvang vibe, hits exactly how you want it to. We waited about 30-45 minutes and the only drawback is that there isn't really a good setup to handle as many customers as there were when we went. Anything good in this area during the holiday season will require a wait, just not a big runway to handle the line with a smaller shop like this one. Can't wait to come back next year!

Yelp
Was driving by this beautiful Danish town in early morning. Saw this bakery open so got to check it out. Very cute and festive decor and plenty of sweet treats and baked goods that just too good to pass up. They do have coffee and other drinks. Staff here are very nice, helpful and friendly. Got several goodies for road snack and the HUGE sweet pretzel too, $25 - not bad at all, and it's very yummy, soft and not too sweet. Loving it.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm a little disappointed this is and has been my favorite bakery. We always pick up goodies to take back home to family & friends. I purchased some napoleon hat cookies as they're my favorite. I was eating one just a few mins ago and to my surprise when I was just about finished there was a hair pretty much buried in the pastry... so bummed to even be posting this review!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
This quiant bakery is located within the villages stores on Alisal Road. The outside is cute and the inside is bright and welcoming. The girls at the counter are both friendly and helpful. They explained and answered all questions with patience unlike another nearby. The danish are filled with fruit and the crust is buttery. They are so yummy, and they have a wide variety of danish, cookies, etc. This was our fitst time but it wont be the last! A Must when in Solvang!
google avatar

Kitty C.

Yelp
So much to choose from. We were on a hunt for a dessert that was peanut and tree nut free as we had someone with a food allergy in our group and The Solvang Bakery did not disappoint. They had a ton of items to choose from that weren't just danish pastries. They had chocolates chip cookies, butter cookies, cupcakes, etc...the ladies were super helpful and trying to narrow down which would have the least amount of cross contamination and no nuts involved. We ended up getting a bluey/bingo cookie and it was delicious! Highly recommend if you are looking to get a variety of items. Cute little pink shop too! Outside seating available, definitely come check it out!

Yelp
There are quite a few bakeries In Solvang, and many of them sell similar items. However, I would say that the Solvang Bakery has a much greater variety of baked goods and other items. The food is fresh and good and is reasonable priced. They were crowded but had plenty of friendly staff to help. There was a nice seating area outside and was great place to hang out and enjoy the great food.

Yelp
For three years Solvang bakery has been a part of our holiday celebrations. The gingerbread houses are personal, delivered immaculate and on time. Each year I can't wait to see how they come crafted the next table centerpiece! As a former baker, I am in awe. Happy Holidays

Kelly F.

Yelp
Went into Solvang Bakery today to get some sweets. Four people working and my daughter had a cold item in her had and we wanted to order more, but not one worker offered to help us they just stood there dancing and talking so we put our cold item back and walked out. We are pretty local so I'm extremely disappointed in the treatment, it seems they don't care about locals only tourists who don't care how they are treated.
google avatar

Daryl D.

Yelp
I came here because I saw it a celebrity I follow and she posted she got her kids birthday cake here. So of course, I was influenced by her into coming. They are conveniently located next to the famous Solvang windmill and the line is long, but they move quickly. There's outdoor dining in the front and the back of the store. They have fresh bread, cakes, cookies, dog treats and a lot more. I got linzer cookies and they're really good. The the almond buttering too!! Soo good.
google avatar

Raechel I.

Yelp
I was on a mission to find a gingerbread cookie. The Solvang Bakery delivered. I didn't get a picture because it was devoured. $5 about 3.5 inches tall, soft, chewy and perfect Christmas cookie. I also bought a cute holiday mug that came with a free cup of coffee.
google avatar

Angelica R.

Yelp
Went in, it was busy. I was waiting for my pastries to be given to me by the cashier. As she was grabbing them a separate worker, brown hair, freckles, tall, younger worker told me to "move so I can ring her up" I was caught off guard because I was waiting for my pastries and waiting to order more items I forgot about. I hesitated and she gestured for me to move. I said "I want to buy another item, it's rude to just ask someone to move, especially at your job." she put the pastry on the counter and rung us up and walked away. Very rude.

Yelp
All I can say is WOW! This bakery was amazing!! So many delicious choices. The pictures do it no justice. We took a lot of danish pastries to a party later in the day and they were a big hit! We obviously ate some on the road as well. LOL The service is top notch. They were so helpful and were able to describe everything they had. The bakery is beautifully decorated. I can't wait to visit again Be forewarned the pictures will make your mouth water!
google avatar

Tania T.

Yelp
Cheese Danish and iced tea for some afternoon pick me up. The line moves rather quickly. They have a store front and sold some gifts, kitchen items, etc., and if you make your way to the back, there's a whole counter full of yummy pastries. The staff were efficient and very quick to help you out. They're also very helpful with questions that you have. The front gets really crowded because everyone's trying to take a picture with the famous windmill right next to the bakery.
google avatar

Yelp
This little bakery is my favorite in Solvang where bakeries are plentiful to showcase the Danish specialities. It's a smaller bakery that doesn't have overflowing mountains of pastries , quality over quantity is the vibe here. It is towards the back end of Solvang, which is about an 8 minute walk from when you enter the town. They have about 4-5 different options for gluten free pastries, the almond horn with a nice, chewy consistency being my favorite and the chocolate covered Sarah being my husband's. The coffee here was also our favorite in town. It is not bitter or too acidic. We had lattes that we ordered extra hot. The girls here are kind, and attentive. This bakery has a very sweet and pleasant ambiance with pink tables and cute souvenirs for any occasion. Worth the quick walk to avoid the overcrowded bakeries toward the beginning of town. Definitely recommend if you're in town!
google avatar

Yelp
Cutest pink bakery!! They have adorable baked goods and tons of merchandise/ gifts also. Very cute baked goods, gingerbread houses, and a curated collection of giftable items We always stop here in Solvang. Very worth a quick stop inside the store. Parking is street parking only.
google avatar

Yelp
Another amazing stop in Solvang! My fiancée and I made this cozy, welcoming bakery our final stop, and it was the perfect way to wrap up our trip. The variety of treats, from danishes to lemon squares and cookies, was almost overwhelming in the best way--it satisfied every bit of our sweet tooth cravings. Naturally, we indulged, and every bite was worth it. Not only were the baked goods fantastic, but the service was just as impressive. The staff was warm and friendly, making the experience even better. Plus, this bakery is another dog-friendly gem in Solvang, welcoming our pup, Skye the dachshund, with open arms. We'll definitely be back on our next trip to stock up on more of their delicious danishes and cookies. A special shout-out to the gingerbread cookies, which were absolutely delightful! Highly recommend this bakery for its amazing sweets, service, and overall charm.

Yelp
Loved looking around, the workers were super friendly. Unfortunately the cookie I got wasn't very good.
google avatar

Whitney L.

Yelp
Please never change your Sarah Bernhardt recipe! They are so good! We always stop here for Sarah Bernhardts when we pass through Solvang. The customer service is great.. ladies working are always friendly and helpful. The shop itself is adorable and has so many fun gifts and treats to buy.
google avatar

Ashley C.

Yelp
The exterior is cute. Fits the rest of the atmosphere in Solvang perfectly. The tables and chairs outside are cute and perfect for sitting on when the weather is nice. I got a marzipan from here. I've heard of marzipan, but never got the opportunity to try it before. I enjoyed the novelty, but I can see why marzipan is often used for decorative purposes.
google avatar

Oriana T.

Yelp
Came here on a Tuesday before my friend and I were leaving Solvang, they have lots of little souvenirs and knick knacks to check out and buy, they even had little homemade dog treats that I could take home for my dogs! They had a couple of gluten free options, the almond horn as well as the kransekage, not too sure if that's the actual name but both were very tasty. The interior was very fun, very playful and pink and the staff working were just as sweet as the cookies they serve, the person who helped checked me out was very professional and energetic and helped give a positive vibe in the bakery.
google avatar

Carolyn M.

Yelp
From all the Kringles and butter cookies I've tried this bakery is my favorite. The Kringle was soft with plenty of custard and almond filling! I loved that the dough was soft and not to crumbly. The butter cookies that were plain were also great. The ones with almond tasted a bit stale. Would definitely come back. Kringle was On the pricier side but great for sharing.
google avatar

Tomomi S.

Yelp
I got my birthday cake here and it was amazing! My husband ordered 72hr ahead to place an order and it was right on time, baked freshly. Black Forrest cake comes with whipped cream and cherries. Cake was moist and delicious, whipped cream light and fluffy, and all the cherries and gold dusts! I'd recommend to order cakes here for any celebration to make it very special.
google avatar

Sarah T.

Yelp
Stop by Solvang on the way to Santa Barbara and there are so many cute shops. This was one of them. Super cute. I wanted to try everything but was so full but will be back to try everything else. Outdoor seating with pink tables. The cakes look so good. Staff were friendly. It was really busy but I ordered a raspberry Danish and 1 rum ball. Both were ok but rum ball is definitely shareable. It's too rich to eat an entire one.
google avatar

Kelly B.

Yelp
There are so many good things at all the bakeries in Solvang it's hard to claim "the best" but this is another bakery that is a must visit for us during a Solvang visit. These guys know gingerbread. If you ever want an amazing gingerbread display come here or order online. It WILL be the best one you ever purchased. After coming here a few years ago, I did order one for my kiddo to decorate for Valentine's Day. They have gingerbread all year long for every occasion! It was so much fun to decorate and they supply all the fixings shipped perfectly to my home! As a brick and mortar store, they not only have gingerbread houses to purchase at the store but tons of other cute holiday items and not to mention, the full on bakery of breads, cookies and pastries. They do it all and super cute-ly! (Is that a word?!) lol Love their gingerbread!

Yelp
Dec 2024. We wanted to try this bakery as it's highly rated and I think it's the one I would go back to again. However it's small. We had a vanilla latte and a chai tea. And the drinks were great. They have 2 sizes. Small and large. We got a lot of items. Gingerbread cookie, sugar cookie, lemon bar, cream puff, cheese danish, and bear claw. Cheese danish needs more cheese The lemon bar was large but crust too thick and not enough lemon flavor. Bland. I threw it out. We loved this bakery and it's not touristy like the others in town with their huge long lines to order.
google avatar

Juliana E.

Yelp
This was my first time visiting Solvang and I didn't know what to expect. Deserts galore!!! There were so many cute little shops, there is an abundant amount of parking spaces so don't be afraid to park and walk to this cute little shop. When you first walk in there's a gift shop area with a variety of little trinkets to buy. The back of the store is where the bakery is and boy was I not prepared for it! There was a line that moved quickly, the workers were patient and friendly, they were happy to answer any questions I had about the pastries. We ordered cream puffs, raspberry owl eyes, chocolate dipped almond horn, and lemon bars. They boxed everything up neatly and organized which was well appreciated for a 3 hour drive home. I "taste tested" one of everything we ordered and everything was a 10/10. Moist with the perfect amount of sugar. I'm still dreaming about the lemon bars and chocolate covered almond horns.
google avatar

Noel C.

Yelp
Such a cute shop and service was so friendly and helpful. I got way too much but of course had to get the gingerbread man and my favorites were the Danish waffle so light and airy with the perfect amount of sweetness. The chocolate croissant had a lot of chocolate which is rare so it was well received. Also got a cute ornament and tons of other cookies.
google avatar

Moira U.

Yelp
We stopped in Solvang while visiting SB and everything we bought from this bakery was 10/10. The staff is also so friendly and helpful as we were so indecisive. Our favorites were the Strawberry & Cheese Danish and the Honey Bran Muffin. We enjoyed our pastries outside and on the patio.
google avatar

Pearl C.

Yelp
I got a cream puff and fruit danish at every bakery to be my tester to compare them since I was trying all the bakeries in Solvang. This one was definitely less sweet for us, which is a positive. It has a cute sitting area in front and in the back.
google avatar

Jennifer W.

Yelp
Such a cute shop and the cashier was friendly. We got three different pastries and they were good, one was better that the others. They were a bit dry, but still quite tasty.

Yelp
A day in Solvang requires a definite stop to The Solvang Bakery. Everything is wonderful here and you will know it's the spot once you see the crowds of people but the lines move quickly. No other bakery had the amount of people as they did. Food, all excellent. Ambiance is casual walk up counter with a good selection of retail items which are cute and unique. A must stop when in Solvang.
google avatar

Ricky P.

Yelp
Came here today and it was amazing. The ambiance was serene and the space was cozy. The customer service was great and everyone was so kind. Tried a chocolate chip cookie and a slice of red velvet cake. Amazing and delicious with every bite. The gingerbread houses are amazing. Wish I would have ordered one. Maybe next year.
google avatar

Alejandra R.

Yelp
We almost missed this bakery because the name is different than the sign posted out front (the actual name is on the roof). We specifically went looking for this bakery after my friend recommended it. We were pleasantly surprised! We bought a couple of pastries and every single pastry was wonderful! We had made a stop at another bakery the day before, it was not very good so we were leery of buying too much and not liking the pastries but after we tried these, we regretted not getting more. The pastries are fresh, soft and delicious! This is a "must stop" destination when in the area. I highly recommend it!

Yelp
I instantly fell in love with this bakery! The beautiful decor, sweet staff members, and delicious treats stole my heart. The rear garden is such a beautiful place to sit and enjoy your goodies. I ordered a vanilla chai latte with oat milk along with an assortment of treats. I loved the almond rolls, the lemon bar, and the strawberry cheese danish. The bakery is small and does get a little bit crowded, but it's worth the wait! I ordered 5 bakery items along with a large latte which totaled to $29. Not bad for the great quality goods! I definitely will be returning here!
google avatar

Maria K.

Yelp
Efficient and friendly service, buttery linzer cookies, flaky danish and stunning gingerbread houses. Loved the pink tables and chairs which added to the ambience of this adorable cafe.
google avatar

Ally L.

Yelp
Came into this cute little bake shop and so glad I bought the Jalapeño onion cheese bread! It was delicious even after trying it the next day! I heated it up at home and wish I had bought more.

Andy C.

Yelp
The shop is a combination of a bakery and gift shop. It's super cute and feels like something out of a storybook. Lots of pink. Screams "sugar, spice, everything nice". Behind the counter were two ladies who were friendly and took our order for a variety of pastries from the counter. We enjoyed all the goodies we bought. Compared to other bakeries down the street, this one seems to focus more on being a cutesy gift shop than a bakery. The pastries don't seem to be flying off the shelves and getting replaced as quickly as the ones down the block. However, they tasted good and fresh.
google avatar

Dominic D.

Yelp
Best jalapeño bread in solvang. I always make sure to never leave solvang without this bread. The store can be busy on weekends but weekdays is almost empty. The store is next to the main windmill and the store is nice and cozy so it feels like a small danish store.
google avatar

Dia N.

Yelp
Super cute bakery! There were so many baked good options to choose from. On top of that, they also sell home items that you could purchase. Everything in there looked like it was made with a lot of care. We wanted to try a few things that we had never seen before so we got some of the Linzer cookies. They were super good and reminded me of like one of those jam thumbprint cookies. They also had dog biscuits so we picked up some of those as well! The workers there were really friendly and nice.
google avatar

Sara B.

Yelp
Cute little pink bakery that was probably my favorite of all of the 4 we walked in through. They had so many great baked pastries and breads available. The line was long and went out the back door to the patio but it was worth it. I got a Lacey with dark chocolate for bout $4.25. Just wish they had labels on ALL of the items in pastry display cases. They had a few labels but many more not labeled. I had to snap photos of what I wanted to order to show the clerk.
google avatar

Yelp
I took myself and my friend on a mini walking treat tour throughout this town. Our second to the last stop was at The Solvang Bakery. We shared a napoleons hat cookie, which was stuffed with marzipan and coated in dark chocolate. I wish I bought a few more to take home! It was not too sweet and the cookie itself was soft with a little bit of chew to it. I also purchased a loaf of cheddar jalapeño bread to take home. I've enjoyed a slice nearly every day - roasted with butter or with an egg on top. This savory purchase was well worth it too - because the loaf was so large, I shared it with two other people and here we are a few days later, each still enjoying pieces of it!
google avatar

Ryann C.

Yelp
Very cute bakery with a nice selection of more traditional Danish Pastries and contemporary treats. There are also decorations and other fun stuff you can view and purchase inside.
google avatar

Natalia E.

Yelp
Literally the cutest pinkest bakery in Solvang. I got the cream puff it was HUGE! It had a layer of custard inside and also their house whipped cream. It was so yummy and the perfect dessert but definitely shareable! I would come back again for this one. The girls working were very friendly. They have a couple tables outside that you can sit in as well.
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome gingerbread cookies! Thank you for having them all year around! coming back for more!
