SOMA Canary Wharf - SilverKris

"With its concrete exterior, minimal signage and modern, minimalist speakeasy design, this bar brings a distinctive personality to an area otherwise known for its corporate vibe. Taking its name from the Sanskrit word for “to distil and extract”, the philosophy of the place is evident in a menu of reimagined classic cocktails that explore the purity of their flavours. The speakeasy draws inspiration from the Indian subcontinent and beyond; one highlight is the Raisin, a delightfully sweet drink that mixes butter raisin Hapusa gin, amontillado, jasmine and Champagne. In the early evening, the atmosphere is set to smooth jazz, which gradually shifts into Golden Age hip hop as the night goes on." - Karen Fong

Wow! what an exquisite evening of delights, and the venue was known from finding them on the Pinnacle Guide (like a Michelin guide, but specifically for bars). The staff super friendly and efficient. There seemed to be only 2 members running the bar, welcoming guests, managing cloakroom, creating and serving drinks, engaging with patrons and clearing tables after, yet it felt like we were the only ones there, testament to how on point the service was. This venue has a very private feel and is small by normal venues, seating around 30 guests, but therefore very intimate with a stand out vibe in terms of the dark under the DLR station ambience but with a beautiful soft pink hue from the internal lighting. The music was at perfect volume that added to the vibe but did not take away trying to have a conversation without having to raise your voice. The stainless steel low sunken bar and chefs table experience allowed you to feel really engaged with the drink making process but still allowed for you to have a private conversation and have plenty of personal space. Then the drinks themselves, a true delight of amazing aromatics and flavour profiles making them stand out as unique among other cocktails and bars even though the classics were still on the menu. My favourite was the light and refreshing Darjeeling, but a must try is also the Curry Leaf Cocktail which when paired with the amazing piece of chicken which comes served along side the drink, brings the experience of eating a curry by bringing the two separate elements together into the mouth as one, rather than eating the chicken and then drinking separately. Two small plates were ordered, Mini popadoms with a lovely fresh sauce and the olives which were huge and genuinely the best olives I have ever eaten. You also are given a choice of sparkling or still complimentary water, which you can also help yourself to. We had a really enjoyable 2 hour experience and together sampled 6 cocktails as we each ordered 3 different and was very good value for money considering the Canary Wharf location and the quality and execution of the evening. Thank you SOMA, we will see you again soon 🍸🥰

Amazing vibes, interesting interior. Bar chairs are quite hard to sit comfortably. The drinks - both alcoholic and not - are super small for the price. Even looking gorgeous, cocktails are simple if not to say boring.

SOMA Canary Wharf offers a distinctive cocktail experience that stands out in London's vibrant bar scene. During my visit, I tried a sour cocktail infused with a strong cumin fragrance, providing an unexpected yet delightful twist. The blend of flavors was bold and aromatic, showcasing the bar's commitment to innovative mixology. The ambiance is sleek and modern, with an industrial-chic design that creates a cozy yet upscale atmosphere. Despite its compact size, the bar maintains an intimate feel, making it perfect for both solo patrons and small groups. While the cocktail menu is adventurous, it's worth noting that the bar snacks are more modest, serving as light accompaniments rather than substantial bites. If you're planning to dine, consider having a meal beforehand. Overall, SOMA Canary Wharf is a must-visit for cocktail enthusiasts seeking unique flavors and a stylish setting.

The vibe is spot on—elegant, intimate, and effortlessly cool. The cocktails were next-level: creative, beautifully balanced, and clearly crafted with care. Massive shoutout to Elliot for making the night unforgettable. His service was flawless—knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely passionate about the drinks. SOMA is a must-visit if you’re serious about cocktails. Can’t wait to return.

Drinks are quite nice for the price. I tried the mango and banana, both have their unique fruity taste. The banana is a fun drink but it is a bit too sweet for my taste, what I will suggest is to keep the aroma of the banana but tone down the sweetness of it, making the banana a more subtle aftertaste
