Somerset Grand Hanoi

We had a few nights in the Somerset Grand while visiting Hanoi and had a great time. The rooms were spacious and well equipped, the service from all the staff was excellent and the restaurant had great food. There was a grocery shop on the ground floor and the pool, although we didn’t use it, looked great. Only downside was they allowed smoking in the bar which was a little off putting and meant we didn’t spend any time there. Location was ideal in the old quarter and they managed to get us a taxi to the airport when all the roads were closed during the Independence Day rehearsals. Definitely recommended.

Excellent suites and facilities. We stayed in 3 bedroom executive suite. Air con was great in the summer heat, actually had to slow down the fan as they were too effective. The living room with sofa and large screen TV set up with Netflix was great for the kids. Elegant set up as well. The gym and pool was extra nice; used them every morning. Pool water so refreshing from first day during this heat. The staff were kind and excellent. We ran into pool staff member Nam daily; always helpful with conversation; pleasant and ready with a fresh towel, coffee or setting up the steam room or sauna. Didn’t think I would but decided to try the steam room and sauna. Able to enjoy the contrast after the cool swim. We enjoyed the location; busy area but walkable with shops and restaurants within 5-10 mins. Not as busy as the old quarter. Nam gave us some recommendations for dinner that worked out well. Short walk to lake and old quarter.

The location provides a respite from the hustle and bustle of the Old Quarters and sightseeing. It was nice to be able to walk to where we wanted to go, and also be able to discover local sights and sounds as we made our way. We ordered a car via Grab when it rained or when we got lazy and it was affordable and convenient. The apartment itself was great - clean and spacious for the 2 of us because we booked a 2-bedroom executive. It could have easily accommodated 4 persons. A water dispenser was included in the room, which was nice, because it meant we did not have to lug bottles of water back to the room. We didn’t have much to do with the front office other than have them help with a reservation and check-in / out and the experience was as expected. Some may be sensitive to the noise of sirens due to the nearby hospital but it did not happen often so it did not bother me too much. A good base from which to visit the city centre from.

We stayed here for three nights in April 2025. The location is very convenient and the service from the staff was very good. They delivered a lovely surprise anniversary gift for us. The facilities, while a little dated, were great for a family with young kids. Good pools and the kids enjoyed the little playground. Well equipped gym too. We had breakfast included and it was ok for the price. Overall the two bedroom apartment suited our family well but the rooms definitely need a bit of a paint. Recommend getting a room on a high floor if possible due to street noise.

We had an excellent four days at this hotel. Spacious rooms and great service at very step. We loved the gym and pool areas- though the pickleball court can get loud. Highly recommend staying at such an important location in Vietnam’s history (site of the infamous Hanoi Hilton).

Location is good. 45min from airport and walking distance to old quarter and the lake. Many eateries and cafe around the area. We had a 3 bedrooms executive apartment. Good size for 6 adults. Well equipped but the apartment will require refresh and renovate. The room has a strong smell when we checked in. Front desk team provided great service and very efficient for both checking in and checking out. Has provided a fantastic first impression.

We stayed in a 3-bedroom apartment at Somerset Grand Hanoi and had a fantastic experience. The apartment was spacious, well-equipped, and perfect for 6 to 8 people. The location is excellent—most major attractions are within 2–3 km, making it easy to explore the city. A big plus is the departmental store within the building, which was super convenient. Highly recommended for families or groups visiting Hanoi!

One of the best hotel & service apartment in Hanoi. The unit with 2 rooms are spacious with living room, kitchen, bath tub, iron board, water dispenser, fridge, induction cooker, tv in rooms & living room, dining table etc. Room service will come & tidy our unit daily w/out fail. The front staff were helpful & friendly. The Ms Q coffee house breakfast was adequate with choices & loves the 2 sunny side eggs very much. The concierge staff also very helpful & sincere. Will definately come back here & repeat stay again.
