We had a great experience at Somerset Grand Hanoi. If you’re looking for a place that feels more like a home than a cramped hotel room, this is it. The Location The location is spot on. You’re super close to Beer Street and all the lively spots, so there’s always something to do nearby. There is a supermarket right in the same complex. we could just go downstairs and grab whatever we needed to cook a quick meal. The Room The room itself was huge. It’s a full apartment setup with a kitchen that has all the utensils you'd actually need. Having a washing machine in the unit was a total lifesaver for us. Only thing is that there wasn’t a dishwasher; it’s definitely not a deal breaker because the hotel house keeping staff cleaned the utensils as well but it would’ve been great. The Staff & Amenities The staff here are lovely, especially the cleaning crew. They are so polite and do a really thorough job. you can tell they actually care about the details. The pool and the sauna are also well-maintained. Overall, would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Hanoi!

We stayed at Somerset Grand Hanoi in November and had a wonderful experience. Yes, the hotel is older, but it is extremely convenient—just a 7–10 minute walk to the Old Quarter and close to everything you’d want to explore. The cooler weather was perfect; we could comfortably wear shorts, and the kids even enjoyed the pool. Our 2-bedroom, 2-bath unit on the 10th floor was spacious and practical, with a full kitchen and a washer/dryer combo—super helpful for families. The kids especially loved the ping pong table! There’s also a Quick Mart right inside the hotel, which made it easy to grab breakfast items, snacks, and even last-minute things like cough drops. We didn’t eat at the hotel since there are so many incredible options just steps away—but that’s part of the charm of staying here. Overall, a comfortable, convenient, and family-friendly place to stay in Hanoi. Highly recommend!

We stayed at Somerset Grand Hanoi for four nights and had a very comfortable experience. While it’s not right in the middle of the Old Quarter, the location worked very well for us — it was just a 10-minute walk or a 5-minute Grab ride away and close to most major attractions. Being slightly away from the chaos was actually a plus.|We stayed in a 2-bedroom apartment on the 10th floor, which was spacious, clean, and quite well maintained. After seeing many Old Quarter hotels that felt extremely small and cramped, this felt like a much better option. Having a washing machine in the apartment was very useful for a longer stay, and we also appreciated the early check-in. The waiting lounge was a nice bonus, with comfortable seating, TV, books, and complimentary tea and coffee — a great place to relax. The convenience store within the premises was also very handy. A special mention to Johnny Nam, who was warm and helpful, and assisted us with using the lounge and recreational facilities. The reception team was consistently polite and welcoming.|A few small improvements could be made, such as adding more vegetarian options at breakfast, easier laundry drying options, and a slightly more flexible approach to tea and coffee refills. Overall, a very comfortable stay and a place we would happily return to.

We had a wonderful stay of 4 nights at the Somerset Grand. The rooms were spacious, the breakfast as great as everyone had reviewed before us. The Hotel staff were warm and helpful, especially Lisa in the gym area! Our children adored her and she even held our baby for awhile so we could play with our older children. We were also greeted by Emma from Customer Relations with a bottle of wine noting a family milestone. Thanks also to Will from the front desk for his honest, respectful and yet upfront advice. Fantastic hotel for families.

This is a dependable 4-star type hotel. Nothing too fancy, a bit worn around the edges, but friendly staff and good amenities like a washing machine and essentially unlimited drinking water from a 20-litre container. The gym was a good size with a good selection of equipment. Staff were happy to keep most of our luggage safe for two nights while we went on a boat cruise and then returned for a final night.

This hotel was actually a requested downgrade (5 star to 4) through our travel agent and we couldn't be happier with our choice. It came with a very large pool for the kids (7 and 10yrs old) which occupied them into the night as well as pool table and ping pong. The gym was more than adequate for myself. The staff were all amazing. Very welcoming and friendly especially Johhny Nam who worked poolside. We had breakfast included everyday and purchased the occasional dinner. All food was really good. We would definitely stay here again should we visit Hanoi from Australia. The location was also very central and most things within walking distance.

We stayed in two separate rooms for three nights. Two nights in a two bedroom and one night in a three bedroom. Both rooms had cockroaches. The two bedroom was dated and the carpets were filled with stains. The walls are all cracking and the windows had gaps. Therefore all we could hear was the traffic noise. This hotel is not close to being a 5 star hotel.

Great spot, we had a two bedroom room on the 23rd floor which was clean and spacious. The room and hotel facilities were great and had plenty of things to do, pool, sauna, pickle pool courts. Location was great and buffet breakfast was very comprehensive.
