We booked a room without a verandah with pleasant water views. The bedroom was loft style upstairs, which was a bonus for us. Everything was supplied, including sheets, towels, washing machine & dryer. No oven, but there was a microwave & hotplate. Staff on reception were helpful. The room was serviced daily on request

Location, location location- It does not get more convenient or more stunning than the Hobart waterfront. Stayed with 3 other friends for a 4 day weekend. We did not have a car but managed to pack in stacks of essential Hobart activities largely because everything we needed was in walking distance. The markets, pick up drop off for day tours, shops, restaurants and bars - right there in easy walking distance. We had a 4 bed room it was clean, with 2 bathrooms it was comfortable, it was quiet, we had amazingly beautiful water views the place was perfect and we had a blast. Would definitely stay here again and can most certainly recommend Somerset on the Pier to others.

Lovely hotel. Stayed here the night before and the night after the Three Capes Walk with a group. The hotel was accommodating and easy - we had a room with four (very comfortable) singles, a washer, and a bath! Highly recommend as the bus from the airport stops about 150m away and the bus to Port Arthur is about 75m away. Comfortable, clean, and everything we needed for a fairly reasonable price. Be aware of seagulls on your roof (!) and ask for a room which will view the sunrise! (But the mountain view was still incredible.

Stayed at Somerset on the Pier Hobart in late Nov - early Dec. Cosy room, great location, and excellent hospitality! Located at the waterfront, the restaurant is within walking distance to several dining spots. It is also located next to the boarding point for the ferry to MONA.

Fantastic location with harbour views. Clean and modern serviced apartments with all the modern conveniences. Just a very short walk into Hobart city centre. Good value, would certainly stay here again.

This was a really good place to stay when visiting Hobart. The friendly Staff; excellent Service; and clean, spacious accommodation all made for an enjoyable stay. The location is good for walking access to nearly all places of interest in Hobart. Parking is a little tricky but OK once shown what to do.

My partner and I stayed here for three nights. We had a tremendous experience from start to finish! We were given a complimentary bottle of wine for our anniversary! The views are beautiful and the staff were really friendly and helpful! Can’t wait to come back soon!

Google
Somerset on the Pier offers great waterfront views from their serviced apartments. The staff is friendly and helpful, making your stay enjoyable. The only drawback is that parking can be a challenge, especially if the hotel's spots are full. Despite the parking situation, it offers a relaxed atmosphere and comfortable accommodation. No restaurant at the property but you have a heap of choices nearby

Yelp
I have mixed reviews with the hotel. The rooms are okay size but be prepared to walk up and downstairs to go to your bed. At times the rooms were very noisy nearby. The two main benefits of this hotel is the location and being very essential to everything in Hobart and as part of that the second one out of the great views. One night I returned to the room and I had the hotel clerk follow me all the way to my room and stalk me until I was in my room which felt very uncomfortable. It was like he was checking whether I was actually a guest or not. I would give this hotel a medium rating.

Yelp
This is such a nice and well placed location, lovely rooms with mezzanine bedroom and great views along with pleasant and helpful staff. So, they should get a better review than this?! I would use this hotel again, but only if I didn't have a car with me. We booked this hotel despite a profusion of poor reviews on other media that centred on problems with parking. We figured it couldn't be as bad as so many had said and decided that they were overemphasising the problem. They weren't! The hotel offers free parking (on a first come best served basis) (fair enough) but only have 15 parking spots in three sets of five. The rest of the parking within a reasonable distance is voucher based. At only $5/hr this wouldn't seem to be too big an issue. BUT, parking is either for maximum one or two hours. So, get there at 5pm (as we did) and you have to go out again to either top up your payment or (probably more legally) move your car to another location. Free between 8pm and 8am. But then in the morning you have to be up again and out putting money into the voucher machine by 8am (no lie in for you, even if you're in holiday)! And then again at 10am if you're staying in the hotel for a while. Visiting other tourist venues on foot - back within two hours. Think you can risk it? Parking inspectors seem to be ever present handing out tickets to unsuspecting tourists. The only upside appears to be that the ticket for not displaying a voucher is $45. I've paid more for a couple of hours parking in Sydney!! What was particularly galling is that we have a Disability Card which should provide extended parking but the ticket inspectors gave us a ticket anyway. To be a viable hotel, Somerset should fix this. Buy more spaces, offer vouchers through the hotel, reach a deal with Hobart City Council or Tasports. Just do something!!!

Yelp
The views are lovely, but not well run or good value for the money. Rooms have no soundproofing and are perched over noisy bars and restaurants. It being a warm evening, we eventually decided to close the windows and try the a/c, which produced much noise and rattling but very little cooling. Several hours later, a call to the front desk produced, eventually, a visit from a staff member, who seemed to think it was working fine. Much arguing eventually produced a new room with working a/c, but if you are booking this hotel in warm weather be warned: the loft-like bedrooms are an oven no matter how cold you make the downstairs. The rooms look good but nothing is particularly well thought out or comfortable. Electrical outlets are few and far between. The toilet produced a satisfactory result only with multiple flushes and a silent prayer. For the pillows there is an option of large and hard or flat and lumpy. The restaurant T42, which the front desk says is independently owned (co-dependently?), despite which fact one can charge the bill to one's room, was a cacophony of noise at 7:30 a.m. We tried to escape to the patio, which was empty, but where we were treated to a loud playlist of 70s rock, which might have been fun during cocktail hour but was an assault first thing in the morning. We asked for it to be switched off (seeing we were the only people not enjoying it), but waiter explained that it must be left on to attract customers (!). Same indifferent waiter brought us extremely overcooked eggs, toast, and coffee for just under $45 for two. We were even charged $1 for the butter and $4 for the second piece of toast that we were offered (and assumed was complementary, it being a little strange to be asked whether one wished for 1 or 2 pieces of toast). To be fair, a complaint produced a yawn and a refund of $5. Do not bring a car here! Parking is complementary, which is less a statement of generosity and more a warning: it is worthless. 5 spots at the end of the pier, another half dozen across the street, and, we were told, some more half way across town. We ended up parking in the pay spots nearby; perhaps some vigilance and luck will bring us a spot today. So much for day 1!

Yelp
Great location and free WiFi....that's about the extent of the positives. Rooms are VERY VERY SMALL! Decor is outdated. Price was high for what you got.
