Worst Hostel Experience of My Life
I stayed at Somewhere to Stay and it was by far the worst hostel experience I’ve ever had. The rooms were dirty, and basic hygiene seemed completely neglected. People openly smoked both cigarettes and drugs right outside the dorm rooms, and nothing was done about it.
Security is a joke — guests constantly leave the doors open because they forget their keys, which creates a serious risk of theft. At night, the hostel isn’t even locked, so literally anyone can walk in from the street.
The staff treats guests like baggage. They gave me one of the best rooms at first, only to randomly move me around several times during my stay without even asking me beforehand.
To make things worse, I left a brand new beer pong table at the hostel. When I came back to pick it up, they refused to give it back and even threatened to call the police. Absolutely outrageous.
This place also lacks any kind of cultural exchange — it’s mostly Italians and French people, and it’s very hard to hear anyone speaking English. If you're looking for a real backpacker experience, avoid this place at all costs.
