Somnio Hostels

It is very dirty, you can hear EVERYTHING through the doors (which are even seethrough at the bottom and the side), bathroom is dirty, beds are old and the floor in the rooms are very dirty. Dont come here, it is way too expensive.

this hostel is absolutely stunning and perfectly located, making it superrrr easy to reach Barcelona’s top attractions! the staff are friendly and happy to recommend places to visit. our bathroom was clean and stocked with shampoo and soap and room was also clean. the view from the window was breathtaking! btw, we barely noticed any neighbors, it was rare to see anyone outside their rooms. everything was perfect!

Besides the great location, the hostel is clean and has no bad smell at all. The rooms have good size windows and even door to a small but cute balcony. Common toilets and shower area are clean and spacious except for the shower itself. Super fast wifi. Staff was helpful and reached out on whatsapp to inform you about the check in time as the reception doesn’t have long hours with a staff. There is a small living room with a refrigerator and some interesting books. What is not good here is the sound proofing. The noise was terrible you can literally hear everything. I appreciate the very clean large sink in the room. The one in the bathroom always have hairs and the floor is not even swept daily. But the sheets and pillow case were all fresh and clean including the towel. Enough hooks to hang your clothes and wet towel. The door of the elevator is difficult to open! But this is with the building and not with Somnio hostel. If management is reading this, I hope you drop by the property and make sure the standard of cleanliness and hygiene you want is being maintained. I love your property and wishes it to continue to be clean, without forgetting to open the windows for some time daily to keep the molds away and from any bad smell. It is helpful to have a water that they sell for .50 cents per small bottle so you don’t need to go to the shop to buy your water while staying in the hostel.

Super location and a surprisingly good deal with room with private bathroom. Cute old antique elevator. Have a small common room (did not use it) with a refrigerator that you could but it is shared.

Great location, safe area right next to the main shopping street! Simple place, very good value for money! The elevator is old and unreliable, and neighbors can by noisy.

i had chosen to book the Somnio due to its location, closeness to the Placa de Cataluna where the Aerobus drops off, we were arriving late in the evening and just needed a bed for the night as we were leaving for a cruise at 11am the following morning. Our late arrival had been worried me however i had contacted the hostel and told them our arrival time and had called them on the bus from the airport too. On arrival the outer door was locked however i buzzed and was let in. Tiny lift up to floor where hostel was located. ||our room was 2 doors away from the shared bathroom which was good. room was fine, nice and clean, bedding clean too. decent size room, 2 twin beds, decent about of storage. view out onto main street which was lovely, opening windows. ||free tea coffee and water available in reception. ||nice and quiet, no noise from reception or other rooms. beds and pillows were lovely so managed to get a good sleep. ||||would consider this place again if we just wanted a simple, no frills accomodation

Great location-so close to loads of attractions within walking distance and very close metro and bus stops. Friendly staff, clean spacious rooms ( i had the twin with balcony which was lovely!) Shared bathroom is a little small but perfectly adequate and cleaned regularly. I would definitely like to stay again!

We had a better experience than expected. We booked basically for one person, upon check-in they could leave us come with my boyfriend with a little charge and get the room at 9am, which was appreciated. Room are very cleaned, we felt comfortable and staff is very kind. Location is perfect, very central. I recommend it +++

Amazing experience! I was hesitant, given that this is a "hostel," but my friend found this place and it was one of the nicer places we stayed on our whole mini-tour through Europe! If I remember correctly, this hostel was started by American sisters. The staff speaks great English and really helped us out a lot with some troubles we had with our airline. The room was clean and bright, and even though the bathroom down the hall situation can be kind of weird, it was done really well here. They have a computer for use in the lobby. No complaints!
