SOMOS was straightforward with my case. In my experience with this agency, I wanted repairs to my home without making conflict with the super, who hadnt repaired my apartment for six months. I reached out to them, and he kept saying that there were more important projects to be done. With infestation and rotting wood, SOMOS informed me that this needed to be taken to 311. I ended up self-advocating for myself and my aging mom (eligible because she was 65+). After many phone calls, I got the attention of the HPD. While SOMOS just gave me advice and a list of other agencies that could help my home, the HPD took care of my case and the whole apartment got fixed in a day - after six months of delay. SOMOS got me more independent.

This company is in charge of managing home care services for Anthem bc/bs. They are the worst. My mom is elderly and disabled and Somos took her care coordinators and either fired or reassigned them without giving my mom another coordinator. As a result, my mom lost her home care because the care agency has no one to talk to about paperwork and payments for their services. When you call Somos, they do not respond. After days of calling, a rep asked me to fill out a medical authorization form in order for my mother to continue services that are already approved for a whole year. After submitting the form, they still do not pick up calls, did not assign a new advisor to my mother and she is now with suspended services because of their negligence. I have filed a complaint with Anthen and hope they stop using Somos to “provide services” to members because they are not doing their job.

I am not sure what kind of health care organization that has absolutely no one answering the phone in it? My son is disabled and is receiving services through this vendor and for the past 10 days me and the home care services provider have tried numerous times to call them and leave messages for them requesing call backs. No matter what extension you press, you will find no one to answer your call or call you back. I have filed an official complaint against them with the insurance company. It is unfair for disabled kids to not be able to receive much needed services just because of organizations that failed to fulfill their simplest obligations towards patients, which is merely answering the phone and helping people.

Had appt today for booster. Lost for a good 45 minutes. Finally reached someone at SOMOS, supposedly address given was wrong. So receive correct address. Get there, am told, no vaccines being given there today. What the heck. Wasted my whole day. A text or call is not too much to ask for.

Had the worst experience of my life in a four hour wait line at the 180 train station… Somos was extremely unorganized and allowed their workers to skip lines for Covid testing at the end of the day they were doing this the entire day we found out they were letting people skip the line because they worked for somos the nepotism was unbelievable and in your face and then because we said something about it we didn’t get a call back with a result completely unorganized no social distance practicing elderly people standing up barely can make it on the line such a bad experience never again. The worst service please don’t use them.

They do great things for the community but an absolutely train wreck of an organization and I question whether the funding for the COVID vaccine/booster is being mishandled. Summary: Scheduled a vaccine at "Maspeth Fleet - Pop Up Vaccine Site" located at 58-70 58th Street Flushing NY 11378 and it DOESN'T EXIST. They don't update their site so people are wasting their time booking and going there instead of going to a real site. Organization was informed previously that there was an issue but did nothing to correct the error. Full Story: They're offering the vaccine and testing at various locations so I SCHEDULED and went to the "Maspeth Fleet - Pop Up Vaccine Site" located at 58-70 58th Street Flushing NY 11378. I arrive 15 minutes early as instructed on the confirmation and it's a commercial area with nothing but warehouses. Others arrive and we're all pretty confused because we can't find the place. We all try and call the number listed and of course no one picks up so a few of us walk around the block in the hopes that maybe the address was wrong. After 30 minutes we FINALLY get in touch with a sweet lady in customer service (only 1 person working in the call center) who apologized and said the ADDRESS WAS WRONG, it's supposed to be 57-49 58th Place!!!! We go to the "CORRECT" address and it's a DOT facility with nothing else around it. We ask an employee and they have no idea what we're talking about, saying that it definitely would not be inside the building. So we spend another 15 minutes trying to contact the customer service person again and it turns out that Pop Up was a NO SHOW but the website still allowed people to book.

Somos in the Bronx refused to give teachers timely test results during the pandemic, giving us a phone number to call. I was put on hold for over an hour, families directly notified me when their children tested positive. Why would a city funded organization treat teachers like that, risking the safety of students? What a terrible thing to do to teachers, so shameful.

I was scheduled to get booster shot this morning at a pop up location in Jackson Heights. I waited at the location more then 1 3/4 hours after appointment time, no one showed up. No one answered the phone, it was cold & I left fustrated and empty handed.
