Son Julia Country House Hotel (Mallorca, Balearic Islands) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"On the outskirts of Llucmajor, a few minutes from the Palma airport, is a 15th-century agricultural estate that’s gone the way of so many Mallorcan farmhouses: it’s now a luxury boutique hotel. Son Julia Country House Hotel contains some 32 rooms and suites, which marry antique atmosphere and contemporary design with a pronounced Arab influence. The comforts are lavish, including a substantial spa with a heated indoor swimming pool; two more pools, one adults-only, await outside. Dining and drinking options include Las Bóvedas, with its dining room and terrace, as well as a poolside bar and an indoor cocktail lounge." - Tablet Hotels

Overall, a fantastic experience, mainly because of the wonderful staff and unbelievably good food. ||On our first day, we initially had worries about the road noise, you can hear it ‘sometimes’, not all the time, but it’s important to know this. It’s not completely silent. ||However, our experience just got better and better. My partner is a bit of a chef herself, and we both agree; the food is exceptional. Worth the cost. Good portions too. ||We went to Palma to eat for 2 nights but I’ll admit, the hotel’s restaurant was better than the best restaurant we went to in the city. Even lunch was exquisite! ||The staff are brilliant. Even to the point when they remember little detail from one day to the next, such as the beer I had the day before. Attentive and happy staff; I can’t stress how much of a difference this makes to the experience for guests. ||We’d previously stayed at Zoetry, which is an amazing location and grounds, beautiful surroundings, but the staff at Son Julia are miles better, and the food smashes it out the park. ||Only slight niggle is occasionally the music by the pool is a little loud, but it was turned down for half the time, which was nicer for us personally. I understand though, that other folk like a bit more of a party atmosphere. ||With the road and pool music, it was going to be a 4/5, but honestly, I can’t thank the staff enough for their warm service, and overall it quickly became a clear 5/5. ||Beautiful grounds, very quiet hotel (nice!), perfect rooms, very clean, stunning eating area, romantic - especially on evenings, and again; 10/10 staff and food. ||To the manager - please thank your staff on our behalf. They’re doing an excellent job, clearly you look after them well.

We have a time share at Son Antem and have not had the opportunity to stay at Son Julia. However, in the past, we have always eaten dinner there. This year, we wanted to spend a longer time on Mallorca, so we decided to book the Son Julia - as did my sisters. It was dreamy. The rooms are gorgeous - huge and well appointed. The Staff is professional, warm, kind, and so on top of everything. The breakfasts are magnificent - and the dinners are equally as delicious (wonderful selections and lovely wine list). The pools are gorgeous. We all loved it so very much and I am only sad that I had to check out.

What a fabulous find! We absolutely loved our stay. Beautiful room. Great food, we had dinner a couple of times and breakfast has everything you could wish for. The outdoor pools were lovely. The big one is a swimmers dream! The gym is small but well equipped. All the staff are great. The location is brilliant, only 15 minutes from the airport and easy to get to beaches. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful Country House Hotel, Attentive staff, all extremely helpful and friendly. Absolutely delicious restaurant and fabulous service. Rooms were pleasant . Ground floor with a lovely terrace and garden area . Massage was superb. Overall 5* Only reason for 4* rooms was no extractor fan in bathroom so misty mirrors No English breakfast tea. Limited toiletries/ vanity in bathroom . But these are minor details and we would absolutely 100% recommend and happily return . Thank you all at Son Julia for making our stay so wonderful ❤️

This was our second visit to Son Julia. We really like it here, the peace, relaxation, ambience and great food. The staff are all lovely, friendly and helpful. Breakfast is fab - all tastes catered for and spotlessly clean surfaces. Breakfast & dinner can be eaten inside or out, on a beautiful terrace overlooking the vineyard. The building and grounds are amazing. Lots of history & many original features. Old olive trees are in abundance in the well maintained grounds. The pools are clean and sunbeds plentiful. We had a superior room with terrace, a lovely little garden all to ourselves. The rooms are large and well equipped with toiletries, a safe, robes, slippers & mini bar. The local town of Llucmajor is within walking distance and has some nice shops & restaurants. Would recommend Son Julia for a very relaxing break.

A truly special place with soul and style. We spent three wonderful days at Son Julia and loved every moment. The atmosphere is peaceful and full of character – historic walls beautifully combined with modern design. The breakfast was exceptional, but honestly, everything else was too: the warm hospitality, the delicious dinners, the elegant room, the perfect location. It’s the kind of place you leave feeling rested, inspired, and already planning your return. Thank you Fabrice

Fabulous hotel with amazing facilities - 2 pools, gym, spa …. The room (junior suite with terrace) was gorgeous with a large private terrace so we often had room service dinner on the terrace. Food was excellent, but most of all the service was above first class - nothing was too much trouble and every member of staff made you feel so welcome! We wanted somewhere to relax and unwind and this was perfect

What's to love:||- I usually prefer an upper-floor room so that I can safely leave the doors open to the outside, but I was so happy I booked a ground-floor room (104) with my own little patio/yard. It was the perfect place to relax at dusk and in the morning: shaded and plenty of bird action|- Some walking trails nearby|- WiFi extended to both pool areas|- Friendly and attentive front desk and restaurant staff|- Nice breakfast, served outside with a pleasant view of the vineyard|- Two pools. I found the upper one more comfortable (I don't think people realize it's there)|- Architecturally interesting building and upscale art/decor|- Beautiful grounds|- Decent toiletries||Room for improvement:||- The bar at the large pool is tended, but the bartenders won't come to the guests. I watched an 80-something-year-old man have to get up, walk across the patio, and get something to drink from the 20-something-year-old-bartender. Even when there were about 6 people at the pool, and 3 guys at the bar, no one would acknowledge the guests at it|- With the closest store/restaurant being a 30-minute walk away, the property could benefit from a more casual food option (gift shop, etc.) besides the sit-down restaurant
