Sonata Guest House

Delightful B&B for a visit to Kendal and the wider Lake District. There is nothing bad I can say about the Sonata Guest House. Kendal is a great base for exploring the southern Lake District while the B&B itself is well located within Kendal - easy to walk into the town centre for food and drinks on an evening. Our room was very clean and stocked with all amenities - biscuits, coffees, teas, waters, toiletries, etc. Breakfast was lovely and filling each morning, and the check-in and check-out process was easy. I'd highly recommend it and would happily stay here again in the future.

I've stayed at this lovely guest house for the 3rd time during our holidays to lake district and Scotland. Amazing guest house with all the necessary things you expect for a comfortable stay that you could ever ask for. Welcome treats, slippers, dressing gowns and even luxury toiletries provided. The breakfast was excellent (see the picture 😀 )and the host is very nice and friendly. I would definitely visit again 👍

Lovely B&B. The room was very well equipped - with loads of tea, coffee and hot chocolate option and so many little toiletries! The bed was super comfortable! The hosts were great at communicating and accommodating to my allergy. The B&B is super close to the station and to the town centre which is perfect! Enjoyed a wonderful breakfast in the morning and ate so much it felt as though i waddled into town later! I would highly recommend!

This is a very comfortable small guest house in a central location. Our room was small but very well equipped with a thoughtfully equipped shower room en suite. The breakfast was freshly cooked abd our only thumbs down was the coffee which was a bit thick and treacly. In such a small place individual cafetières would much better. The owners have paid great attention to detail. We were able to park in the side street opposite the house.

We had a really warm, comfortable and friendly stay at this little guest house close to Kendal town centre. The room was spotless and better equipped than most hotels - from plentiful tea, coffee and biccies to bathrobes and even earplugs! The owners obviously take great care to cater for their guests' comfort. And the breakfast was fab!!

Really friendly, cosy little place . We stopped for one night on the way to Scotland and didn’t expect too much but were pleasantly surprised. |Very friendly host and a warm comfy room . |Breakfast was 10/10 , so much attention paid to every detail .

Right from booking to leaving I felt a priority to the owners. I was very impressed with the room. It was very pleasing to find everything from tea/coffee to toiletries/earplugs already supplied ! Beautiful decor, very comfy beds. The breakfast was brilliant, made to order. Can’t Thankyou enough . You certainly exceeded any expectations. I will most definitely use this fabulous B&B again.

Stayed for 2 nights and I must say it was the best 2 nights stay we have ever had anywhere. Even in these testing times Chris & Inoka did everything they could to make sure guests enjoyed their stay. If you stay here and forget to pack some toiletries rest assured they have got it covered, there is everything you would ever need. The room was spacious and very clean, the beds where very comfortable. Fresh towels etc where readily available if required. One of the main things I look for on reviews is how the breakfast is rated. The Sonata does not disappoint on this score, delicious full English on both mornings to set you up for the day. An excellent couple of days in Kendal trying to get some normality into our lives. And it’s because of people like Chris & Inoka not having a break it allows other people to have a break. For that they deserve all the credit they get, and we hope to return soon, hopefully in better times than we are in now. ||||Many thanks John & Lin
