Sonder Osage Apartments LoHi

Sonder by Marriott was not a great experience but it was definitely a “you get what you pay for” situation. Upon check in, our door code did not work and when you call Sonder, they do not have back up door codes apparently. We had to get a back up key from a lock box downstairs so we only had one key for our stay for 2 people. This took around 30 minutes. The hallway on the third floor smelled like wet dog and musk which was a terrible first impression of the building, especially after having to stand there waiting to figure out entry into our room. The room did not feel clean. I work in hotels and was quite appalled by how dirty the inside of the bathroom door is. The toilet sits directly in front of it so I would just stare at its filth. 1/4 of our pillows was a small square rather than a full pillow and under the pillow cases, some others were yellow - gross. No extra pillows were provided. The chairs at the end of the bed could definitely use a deeper clean or spot clean as they were covered in dirt and stains, as well. 2 stars because you get what you pay for. Having parking included in Denver is a plus.

I stayed in a studio apartment on the 2nd floor. It was plenty of room for one person—larger than your average one bed hotel room. The location was great. It was a nice neighborhood and easy to get downtown using public transportation. I loved the deep bath tub. It was perfect for relaxing after a lot of walking. The app made checking in and out easy. Pricing was a good value. I would stay with Sonder again.

Meh…it’s safe and it clean. Also location is good. It’s an ok place. But it’s trying to be a trendy, artsy type of property and it totally misses the mark. It’s like a major chain hotel had a pet project to create a “cool” property. There’s no vibe or soul to it. Not that a hotel needs this, but they are trying so hard to have it. Also the construction quality is poor. For example I the front door doesn’t close properly. The hallways are missing trim and the overall feel is cheap but trying desperately to be upscale. I don’t mind staying here but it’s just ok.

It was a good place, clean, spacious, great mattress, and nicely done. We also had a parking spot. We found the registration complicated and time consuming- one needs even to download their application to be able to check in. The name of the card needs to be the same as the name of registration. Otherwise, they don't allow the checkin, but it's a nonrefundable reservation, so one can not cancel. We are travelling everywhere in the world and we haven't seen this system. They even ask that ppl verify with ids or passport and have their photo taken for verification Time-consuming, and then we had to call someone (more time spending there) where they only assisted by instructing us to change the profile of the reservation. So, all over again. Apart from that, I didn't like that the apartment was on a street level. Wasn't shown on the photo when we booked it. It was noisy due to traffic on the highway.

This place was ok. Pros: good location. place was clean, beds were comfortable, plenty of space in the 2bdrm apartment. No issues checking in/ out. Street noise did not bother us thanks to the provided sound machine. Free parking Cons: Sonder app sucks. Screenshot your codes or you'll be locked out. Customer service via chat took over 30 minutes to respond each time. We were given only 1 washcloth for 2 people for a 4 night stay. When we asked for more we were told to go to the essentials cabinet- which was empty the 3 times we looked. We were eventually brought 2 more washcloths, which we then laundered ourselves. Our first day there, someone graffitied on the inside of the building on doors and windows. Didn't feel the safest after that. Ultimately wouldn't stay again- and issues with the app (which you have to have to get in) would steer me away from sonder altogether.

Accommodations were great, service horrible. Was one of 3 groups of customers who weren't given correct access codes to the front door or rooms. No one is on site, so that takes a call and waiting while they verify you. We waited 30 minutes to get it corrected then worked for 45 minutes with an international couple that didn't have cell or Internet service then talked to another couple with the same issues. The place is fine, but hopefully they get the access service together.

I traveled to Denver to participate in an important work event and had booked the Sonder in downtown Denver on Osage. I drove 5 hrs to discover they had still not sent me the secure login- I tried calling over and over to no avail. I contacted the company I booked them through and they were on hold and disconnected. I waited over an hour and a half in a parking lot and eventually had to book another hotel as they never sent me check in details. I was hours away from my home and sat in the parking lot for 90 minutes with no resolution. I’m now at a different hotel and desperately hoping they make an exception for their “no cancellation” policy.

DO NOT book with Sonder. I made a reservation 6 months prior to a 5-night stay. The day before my group was scheduled to arrive, they cancelled our entire reservation due to "over-selling." It has now been a full week since the cancellation, and my refund has not been processed, even though I have called and emailed customer service multiple times. I will never book with Sonder and I will be telling all of my friends and family members to avoid Sonder at all costs.
