I had a truly terrible experience with this hotel and would never stay here again. 1. I was moved to this property the day before my trip because the room I’d already booked and prepaid for at another one of their hotels was suddenly “no longer available.” The last-minute switch was incredibly stressful and poorly handled. 2.The night before my flight to New York, I received several automated messages from Sonder demanding that I add my card details or my reservation would be cancelled within the hour. Despite already having paid in full, I added my card just in case it was needed for incidentals — only to be charged two more times for the same booking. I ended up almost £5,000 out of pocket. My refund requests were ignored, and I eventually had to go through my bank to recover the money. DO NOT store your card details with them. 3. The room itself was disappointing. The bath water occasionally ran a murky brown, which put me off using it altogether. The decor was dated, and while the room was a decent size, the bathroom was tiny All in all, a dreadful experience. NEVER again.

the way this property is listed on marriott’s website is deceitful. it must be properly advertised that this is more of an airbnb set up rather than a traditional hotel. we learned this the hard way upon arrival and it was rudely explained to us by the residential building’s doorman. it was too late to cancel the booking. the following day, we met fern/ferl who was just the sweetest and most welcoming on-site staff/manager of sonder. she apologized to us for the inconvenience we experienced, which we truly appreciate. she also provided us with treats like cookies which definitely helped in improving our opinion about the place. would have originally rated this place 1-star, but the lovely service provided by fern/fearl won our hearts. that said, one must be cautious in booking this accommodation if you’re looking to stay in a hotel - this place is not a traditional hotel, but rather set up like an airbnb rental. book with caution!

This place looked adorable online but had mixed reviews. Naturally I wanted to test my luck. On the plus side the building is secure, with 24 hour security, and the space is pretty large. Location was great too. Negatives include paying extra for what was billed as a 1 room apartment, a bathroom with no ventilation, and a shower curtain that was 3 inches too short, resulting in unavoidable flooding every time it was used, and a lingering mildew odor. The door in the bathroom is pictured so you can enjoy the close up of the rusted hinges that had been painted over. Lastly, we were misled that there were peloton bikes at the gym in the building. We both packed our spin gear, only to find out that they haven’t had pelotons there in years. Overall, not bad, but for $400 a night I was expecting just a little more.

This Sonder property is beautiful and I've been to 5 of their properties now! We love Sonder!! Very affordable and great location! About an 8-10 walk to Grand Central train station. A little further about a 20-30 min walk to Time Square, Bryant Park, NYCity Public Library and Central Park! Lots of eateries, coffee shops and corner stores nearby! Explore the side and back streets to find the best places! We recommend Rock'y pizza, One Two Thai and Baya Bar!! For the in room experience: We do wish that they would just put a stack of towels in the room so we can use as many as we need as opposed to us having to request towels multiple times and they won't always show up, very frustrating. Also, they really need a longer shower liner. If you aren't careful, you could get water all over the floor. There was no in shower storage for the soaps you bring. You do have to pay for a cleaning service, which we didn't use because we swept and cleaned ourselves daily. Overall we love the simplistic nature of Sonder properties and with a few tweaks, could be a perfect experience. Nothing is perfect though, right? There is enough closet space and kitchen storage, also, a big refrigerator! Friendly staff downstairs but they do not work for Sonder. People also live in this particular property of theirs. Have a great NYC experience with this great property.

Sonder The Nash has horrible customer service and cockroaches. I rarely leave reviews but I needed to share my experience at Sonder The Nash. During my roughly 10 day stay, I faced multiple maintenance issues. Starting with a broken AC, followed by several cockroach sightings in my unit, and most recently, a broken toilet. Communication through the app was slow and frustrating. When I told them about the cockroaches, they came in while I was at work and told me pest control couldn't come because they didn't see any, even though I sent them photo proof of cockroaches in the apartment. It took days, repeated follow ups, and me having to buy and use my own roach killer spray to get pest control in. While the space has potential, the responsiveness and upkeep were disappointing. I’d recommend considering other options.

We liked the room. It was bigger than we expected. We used the kitchen a lot. And the location is great. We stayed 8 days and no one came to clean once and we never received new towels during the whole stay. So beware of this. We had a little problem with some noise coming from a neighbor. This woke us up a couple days in the morning. The problem was an adjoining door that connected our room with another guestroom. The door is not insulated. We contacted Sonder to let them know about the noise and they were not friendly in their responses. We sometimes heard traffic noise, but it wasn't too bad. The price of the room was very high.

Everything about this apartment was perfect. Location was very central but extremely quiet (apart from a few beeps from motorists) and felt very safe. We had an amazing view of the Empire State Building from our room. Incredible views from the rooftop, we got up to watch the sunrise which felt so special. The apartment itself was incredibly spacious, a comfy bed and looked exactly like the photos. For our last night in NY we stayed in a 5 star hotel which cost far more than our stay in the Sonder, yet, the stay at the Sonder was far better. I would recommend this place to anyone.

I paid for a one bedroom superior room. What I received was basically a studio apartment with a sliding door to separate the bedroom from the living space. They put the bed in the large living room and put the couch in the smaller area. This was a problem since the “bedroom” was open to the kitchen, bathroom, and dining table making it noisy for those wanting to sleep in. The photos of the room I booked were different than what I received. Very misleading and false advertising. I called Sonder, spent over an hour on the phone and they refused to move us to another room. They stated that layouts on their website are not always guaranteed. After much back and forth, the agent hung up on me. The only reason I gave this two stars is the location, which is near Central Station.
