I've stayed at Sonesta Silicon Valley twice now, and have been thoroughly impressed both times. The hotel is located right next to the highway, and there are bus stops within walking distance, which makes it easy for travel. The rooms are always pristine, clean and large with plenty of space for our luggage, and the beds are very comfortable. It was also very nice to have a microwave in our room! During our most recent 10-day stay, it was relatively quiet as well, which I appreciated (It seems that they're currently doing roofing maintenance until late-October/early-November however, so do keep that in mind). The staff were also very friendly and helpful and brought us any amenities that we needed. 5/5 - will stay again!

Lovely hotel, airy ambience, large rooms. The hotel and rooms were extremely clean and tidy. Bathrooms are huge with a standing shower and a tub. Very quiet property and couldn't hear a peep out of the other rooms. The grounds are well maintained and the pool was very pleasant. Great area to get some sun and a nice swim. The hotel is close to lots of businesses and restaurants in Silicon Valley. Employees were kind and helpful. Was very happy with the 5-day stay and will stay again!

I had a great stay at the Sonesta Silicon Valley Hotel. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, which made the whole experience feel even more relaxing. The pool and hot tub were a big plus – well-maintained and perfect for unwinding after a long day. The staff were all very helpful and welcoming, always ready to assist with anything we needed. Breakfast was also very good, with a nice variety of options to start the day right. Overall, a very pleasant stay. I’d definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area!

This hotel is close to everything. Very clean and the front desk staff was very helpful with providing a printed list of restaurants in the area. The room came with 2 drink vouchers and my kids loved the heated pool and hot tub. Definitely would stay here again.

The hotel over sold and did not have the room type we booked on Expedia. We accommodated and stayed in a different room type being told that the next day we will have a room to move into wherever convenient. The next day we asked to switch to the next room and front desk person named Pou was rude to us and told us that “you need to pack your stuff and move in the next 30minutes”. We tried to call their corporate phone and complain but had no results. As we were moving, Pou continued to get house keeping to ring the door as well as calling the room, harassing us to move. Hotel amnesties were nice and breakfast staff were great.

Google
Good hotel. Worth a look at staying is other locations going up towards Pablo alto are running more expensive. Friendly staff, clean rooms The parking lot need some love. I’m not sure what’s up with the parking situation but it’s either poorly painted lines or guests here have severe needs to retake driving tests. No real complaints. Good spot to sleep in and spend the rest of the day in the cities.

Google
This space was nice and quiet, tucked away off of the freeway. The rooms were clean and tidy with wonderful service. The restaurant and bar was beautiful with fantastic nice staff and lovely service. The staff made the stay away from home feel like home. The gym and pool were small but sufficient. The only negative is that there was no continental or free breakfast included.

Google
We found this Hotel after leaving a horrible one in Morgan Hill. Our agent found Sonesta Milpitas for us. We arrived tired but so relieved! This hotel is very clean, speedy check in, very pet friendly and staff is the same. We have future reservations here and will continue to stay here, even when our destination is a bit of a drive. It's worth it!

Yelp
My husband and I needed a place to stay last minute as we came to our son's college graduation a day early. This hotel was not too expensive and was incredibly well-appointed! Very clean, the space was organized well to accommodate many details that made the room extra homey and comfortable. The hotel staff were very gracious and supportive of any needs or requests we had. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Yelp
It did the job for what I needed. Aka wasn't the fanciest or cheapest. The pool area looked nice. Lots of lounge chairs and space. The hotel has an interesting layout but you will be able to find your room easily. Parking is free. (Just have to find a spot) The bed was sufficient, pillows were meh. Pretty quiet other than a few noises here or there. Didn't even want to go near breakfast after my happy hour experience. Just your average Joe Sonesta.

Yelp
A wonderful place to stay! Super clean! We had the Sonata King room which had lots of room. The shower had great water pressure and kept hot. The room came with a mini fridge. No microwave in the room but there is one located next to the ice machine. Nightstands had built in powermats for your phone. We did enjoy a really good dinner at the restaurant downstairs. Great drinks and 5 stars on the food. I highly recommend the pineapple sorbet. It comes in a pineapple shell and oh so good!!

Yelp
I stay here regularly, and each time I have an exceptional experience! The entire hotel is updated, clean and a quiet place to rest. The staff is friendly and professional, and the prices are hard to beat for this area.

Yelp
Checking at 1 pm. Early checking fee $40 (before 2 pm). It wasn't happened before. I have been staying this hotel 10th times. 7 to 10 nights each time during business trips. Some former front desk staffs even complimentary beverages. However, this time I refused to do early checking fee due to front desk person is boring.

Yelp
The hotel room is clean, the location is fine. My gripe is with the wild hold fee, along with the third party parking fee, and then there's two bottles of Evian water they put in your room for $6. Too much for how much it costs to stay in San Jose. Like at least at Holiday Inn breakfast is included and at Double Tree they give you a cookie. Sonesta just likes fees.

Yelp
I have stayed here a few times and I feel they are the most reasonably priced hotel in the area. I love how the place smells the moment you walk through the doors! I don't give it a five only because I feel the breakfast is a bit over priced. I normally eat elsewhere.

Yelp
The front desk "manager" (no name tag or actual proof she was one) was so rude to us. We had purchased a resortpass on Friday and accidentally booked it for the same day (Friday.) When we arrived after nearly an hour long BART ride on that Sunday we were so mad at ourselves for making this mistake. Since there was literally only 2 guests in the pool we tried to talk to the manager about any help we could get, which was directly back to resortpass. Since it was a Sunday, there was no answer on the direct line and we were trying to see if any accommodation could be made: could they see we didn't ever check in on Friday? If she was a manager, I think some kindness could have went a long way and we would have purchased beer and snacks through their minibar. At that point we did not want to spend any more than we had to just to make our trip worth while. I have worked front desk at a hotel before and when I tell you this person was so flat, rude, and dismissive. We explained the situation hoping for any assistance but got told just to purchase another $75 in resortpass. We then had to pay an incidental fee (never have done that with any resortpass, and did not mention that on their resortpass page). She incorrectly charged my applepay $166 and then when I noticed it never offered any apology or "whoops!" She then charged my card $26 and it was never removed when we left for the day. I had to file a report with my credit card. Attempts to resolve this through Sonesta guest services went unanswered. The pool itself was fine-- there were a lot of wasps and folks playing music on a speaker for the first 90 minutes which seemed to not be of issue to the front desk. Would not be back

Yelp
So I paid for this room Aug of last year. I paid for a junior suite. Upon check-in, we were assigned a regular room and not the one that was paid for. The receptionist who assigned the room did not even acknowledge her mistake. All she stated is that we need to gather our things out of the original room (which we already unpacked) before she can move us. She also did not offer anything for the mistake. It was not a good experience. We did not know that parking was not free and we had to pay daily. Also, their breakfast buffet is not complimentary. It is a nice hotel, but for the overall price and treatment by the staff... I do not recommend it.

Yelp
Very nice clean hotel with an upscale feel. Beds were comfortable, staff were friendly. Pet friendly, my Scottie approved of her new accommodations for the night. The restaurant had a full bar and was busy with guests at 8:30 last night. Breakfast buffet in the morning was delightfully filling. The waitress was pleasant and talkative. Outdoor seating was available Definitely will stay here again should I be in the area.

Yelp
They charge $19 per night per car to park. It is not clearly disclosed when you make the reservation. When you arrive they tell you to scan a QR code and pay a third party company $18 for parking. Then the third party charges you a dollar on top of that. I asked if i can just pay the front desk and they say no, you have to use the QR code. So theres a fee to pay the fee!!! There is no place to park anywhere else. Parking should just be included or added as a clear line item when you book the room. This just left a bad taste in my mouth like im being nickel and dimed.

Yelp
It was nice seeing this hotel but when I saw the DOG FLEA on the bed, I was tried to look for it to remove it but I couldn't find it. So then I left the hotel and came back to get my stuff with my bf. And we slept there for the night only and this morning checked my legs and this is what happened now, I got bit by the dog flea. When I checked in before I didn't have any bite on my leg, but now i do. Since this HOTEL SONESTA SILICON VALLEY is a dog friendly hotel the thing is that they don't know that some dogs carry dog fleas and don't think about their customers. And 1 more thing that the lady charge me for check in early for $75 but when I message to them it was $65 but how come they charge me for additional $10 more. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO THIS HOTEL TO SOME PEOPLE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO GET A DOG FLEA BITE LIKE ME!!

Yelp
Conventions held here are in a separate building and hence there's barely any hotel amenities available to you while you're at the convention center. The hotel restaurant is also only open for breakfast so you must go off site for food. Location though is close to Asian shopping centers.

Yelp
The location itself, the room and the cleanliness was amazing for the price you pay. The biggest issue this company has are the people they hire. If you work in customer service, you need to have exactly that. I called Sonesta around 12pm on 7/27 to ask if they had possibly had a room available to check in earlier than 4pm. Person on the phone said yes, there was one but anything before 2pm has a $40 fee. So, I told them we would wait until after 2pm. Part of my group and I arrived earlier than expected, my two sisters in laws and I walked in to see if they would be able to accommodate but if not, we would just wait it out. Two women were in the front upon walking in, one with a short bob like haircut and eyeglasses and another with a bun hairstyle and flower tucked in her ear. The woman with the bob is who we spoke too first hand and asked if there was anything to which she said "No". I addressed her and told her I called on the phone and spoke to someone who told me there was one room available to which the lady with the flower tucked in her ear cut me off with a VERY rude attitude and said, "She said there were no rooms until closer to 3pm, early check in fee gets waived after 2pm." We decided not to further escalate the issue and walked out to the parking lot to wait until 3pm. More of our group showed up after about 15 minutes, they went in to see to which they were given a room at no extra cost and given an upgrade. This of course up myself and 2 sisters in law who were just inside asking about this. We walk in there again to ask if they had anything, we spoke to the lady with the short haired bob with eyeglasses. She said "No" once again. I then addressed her with no raise in voice, no name calling, no cursing and said that this was not okay. Other people in our party were given a room when you told us nothing would be ready until 3pm. I said I was addressed very rudely by them and wasn't given the opportunity to finish explaining what was told to me on the phone. They didn't check my reservation to see if who I spoke to possibly marked something on my account. She then checked and nothing was marked which was fine, we left again. I get a called from Expedia saying they cancelled my reservation. I walked in to address the issue and the lady with the flower tucked in her ear was the person in the front and she said it was cancelled because I made staff "uncomfortable so they are refusing service". So warning, if you share that you are dissatisfied BEFORE checking in, they might cancel your reservation. I will NEVER stay at this location again because of the lack of accountability and rudeness I experienced.

Yelp
Was planning a weekend getaway in Santa Cruz but the places to stay were out of my price range. Searched through expedia and this place had good ratings and amenities I was looking for (pool, jacuzzi, free parking). I booked it without looking at the reviews here and was still overall pleasantly surprised. The hotel itself is near a freeway and kind of away from the city. Welcoming was warm and check-in was easy. Got a room near the lobby so it was on the first floor and not noisy at all like the reviews say. Spacious room, huge bed; nightstands had built-in charging stations which was nice. Jacuzzi and pool were open until 10pm. On Saturday night, we were the only people by the jacuzzi and it wasn't turning on - we notified the front desk and they sent someone over. Not only did they promptly fix the problem, but they also turned up the temperature. Later in the night we got take out and brought it to the hotel. We asked front desk if they had any aluminum foil to wrap our leftovers. Strange request, but they provided! Our last night, we had a last-minute meal at the on-site restaurant. The menu was really basic but we were happy that it was tasty. Our waitress treated us to an iced tea because we asked about it but didn't order since it wasn't on the menu. The customer service here was excellent! I'd definitely recommend this place if you're visiting San Jose or Santa Cruz.

Yelp
The food is sheit! It's overpriced. No airport shuttle. I've traveled globally. This is by far the saddest hotel I've stayed in.

Yelp
Some girl I am trying to get with is always staying at this hotel when she was in Milpitas. Strangely enough even as a local, I like this hotel better than any other budget place that I stayed in. Being this place is located in Milpitas, it can feel like the Philippines here because the staff tend to talk with weird accents. I am not sure why some guests are upset by this but it is what it is. We chose to stay here and are paying for it. I stayed here once due to overnight work but it's worth the US dollars. If you are a business traveler, this is the best hotel for you because it's close to a lot of delicious food. Even better breakfast is served, not a lot of budget hotels I know actually do that. I understand this is not one but hey saves me some money. I would come here again if I can.

Yelp
I stayed at this Hotel two weeks ago, being in a rush like most of us who travel for work are, I left my keys in my room drawer. I didnt realize until I got to the airport. I had one hour for my flight to leave when I realize I didnt have my car keys. So, I called Sonesta Hotel and the receptionist said he could not leave the desk. I begged him to take 5 minutes and grab them as I was to going to send an Uber to bring them to me, he had plenty of time and did Not do me that favor. I called the hotel few days later, they found my keys and said we will place them in the front desk, I return a week later and my keys nowhere to be found and Nobody had a clue about it! Smh! Something so simple, you guys failed. I will Never stay at this place again.

Yelp
First timer here at this hotel! We actually checked in on the first day they re-opened due to COVID. I really loved the communication Fitzroy gave me before we actually arrived. I left a voicemail for him to confirm our reservations and special requests for our room and he got back to us that same day I left the voicemail. Upon arriving, we were warmly greeted by Fitzroy himself at the front desk - awaiting our arrival. We felt welcomed for sure! Fitzroy checked us in and reconfirmed our special requests that we requested. The lobby was very clean, smelled great, and really felt like the hotel was spruced up, armed with hand sanitizers, and signs to remind us that face masks are required in public spaces. Every concern we had, Fitzroy took care of it. I felt like he knew us personally, as he gave excellent service to me and the family. The room was inviting, spotless, and very cozy, especially with the redesign. I love that they have walk in showers (not a fan of taking showers in a tub!). However, due to COVID, complimentary toiletries are not provided unless requested. We will definitely look forward to coming back to this hotel the next time we are in town. It is nicely tucked in a quiet area, but quickly accessible to freeways!

Yelp
We came here as my choice on our Fall trip to San Jose, Monterey, Carmel, SF and Daly City trip. This was for our San Jose/Monterey/Carmel base for 3 nights. We arrived late and it was difficult to find as it is away from strip malls etc in a business park in Milpitas off the 237 hwy. The lobby is very open and spacious and was clean. The nice guy checked us in and was helpful with where to eat etc and questions. The next day we went to the cafe and ordered breakfast sandos, fruit, bloody marys and more. The lady working solo there was very nice and we chatted it up. Only thing I wish was that I didn't assume and she would have mentioned that breakfast is NOT included. We ended up spending $90 with tip when we thought it was gratis. Ouch to say the least. The room was huge and modern. Tv modern LG. Fridge small size but sufficient. The lights had outlets. Very comfy and bathroom was updated. Shower was step in and very cool and modern. All in all, 5 star stay other than the breakfast fiasco of not being included. Parking was easy and we saw a raccoon fam coming out of a sewer one by one on our way out at night to get some dinner. You gotta drive about 5+ miles to get to any signs of life which is not fun but otherwise this hotel will be a choice again if the rates are around $100-110 for the weekend.

Yelp
SERVICE Early checkin was available @ no extra charge. Tap payment is available. Service is generally on-par with the other Sonesta properties in the bay area (Emeryville, Pleasant Hill): slow, unprofessional, & rude. Despite the over staffed reception desk, checkin was slow. The cackling & gossip by the representatives carries all the way to the 2nd & 3rd floor walkways, but this doesn't dissuade them from making negative comments about the guests (at least save the gossip until you're off the floor or until the guest has actually checked out...). The website mentions dry cleaning & laundry services are available, but according to the staff those do not exist. Quite confusing & misleading. Lots of room for improvement in management, customer servicing, and general self-awareness. Elevators are unusually slow for a 3 floor property, but they're spacious. ROOM (suite) The renovation is beautiful, design-wise, & primed for functionality: Full length mirrors, lots of tabletop space, comfortable couches, wireless charging mats built into the tables, stylish gold lamps, sliding wood doors, and soothing floral paintings. But it's poorly maintained & going downhill fast...: Stains on carpet, ceiling, wallpaper, & lampshades. The walls could also use a touch up; scuffs on paint & dirty/stained wallpaper. None of the charging mats actually function. FWIW the cleaning standards are "ok" in many parts of the room, management is just not invested in the upkeep so the reno has a premature worn-down look. Flaws aside, it has ample drawer and closet space for personal items and is comfortable for 2. BED Also aesthetically pleasing: More gold lamps in the bedroom; Sturdy leather headboard and base with a Gold sculpture piece above; wireless charging matts bedside (didn't work). Their King mattress sleeps well & they provide plenty of right-sized pillows. The duvet and sheets are quite generic and not particularly cozy or insulating but they're clean. The bedrooms have a functional window ( varying views) that opens for fresh air. BATH The "bath area" is a half-bath (walk-in shower + toilet) in a closet space with the sink+vanity+towels+etc across the walkway in-between the bedroom and living room. It's an unintuitive & uneven distribution of space, but still mostly functional. The layout is 100% not Accessible, so those units have a different arrangement & are your only option for a bathtub. There are (generic) bath products provided in the Kohler walk-in shower. Water pressure from the sink & shower was adequate, but the toilet (also Kohler) has a very weak flush. The cleaning standards are particularly low here: stains on wallpaper, showers aren't cleaned thoroughly. Maintenance is also lacking: dirty grout lines, depressions in wall, toilet paper holder loose, auto-exhaust & motion-sensor light are too sensitive and turn on randomly. Wi-Fi Unencrypted high-speed wifi with great QoS, behind a member login portal: * Video streaming: Great * Online Gaming: Great * Video Chatting: Great Nerd Stats...: Download: 93-105 Mbps Upload: 90-117 Mbps 0% packet loss. FOOD In-room dining services are "...still temporarily suspended due to Covid..." which wasn't communicated until AFTER we checked-in (another bait n switch) & doesn't align with the general conduct by staff: maskless, lack of physical distancing, no identifiable hand sanitizer dispensers, no contactless check-in offering-- no safety protocols were actually observed or encouraged during the 2 nights I spent here. Very disingenuous & tasteless interpretation of "concerns about Covid". Despite the lack of convenient on-site food service, it's also NOT DoorDash/UberEats friendly in a major way: Delivery person's aren't permitted entrance to the rooms, the overstaffed front desk won't bring deliveries to the room & your food will be thrown away when they deem an appropriate & arbitrary amount of time has passed before being picked up. This is the first time in 70+ hotel stays that I've seen such an obtuse practice and counterproductive policy implemented at a hotel. If the information on the website was accurate and this was a written policy I would not have stayed here. The representatives said they would reimburse me for the food, but I'm still waiting on this. Whoever is managing this location and/or website: please get this 'policy' posted online & distributed to the 3rd party platforms so we can avoid this location and save everyone a headache. Mini Coffee bar in the room No mini-bar. No wet-bar. Snacks are available for purchase downstairs & breakfast is offered. NOISE The receptionist are the worst offenders, followed by housekeeping staff. A few instances of kids running through the hallways above us, but generally no complaints with actual guests or exterior noises, even with the window open 24/7.

Yelp
I needed a staycation away from home, so I booked a one night stay on the same day. I found and booked Sonesta through hotels.com. It was $109 a night for the executive suite and $120 after taxes. After booking it on hotels.com, I actually found out that it would've been $10 cheaper if I booked directly with Sonesta online. I booked it around noon and checked in around 4pm. The hotel didn't look like much from the outside. Parking wrapped around the hotel, so you might have to walk a bit before you get to the front door. They do have a front drop off area for you to drop off your luggage. I was pretty impressed with the lobby, very new and modern. We got a room on the 3rd floor. The elevator looked a little old. The hallway right outside the elevator on the 3rd floor was line with plastic, as if they're still doing remodeling/construction. I absolutely LOVED our room. You walk into the living room area that had a couch, coffee table, table with two chairs, large TV, safety box in the TV stand, refrigerator, Keurig machine, and 2 water bottles. There's also a skylight in the middle of the room. The stand next to the couch has wireless charging, which is awesome. The couch comfortably fit 3 people. The TV has ChromeCast. The refrigerator was really good and actually kept our food cold, unlike most hotel mini fridges. They also charge for the water bottles, $2.50 each. Connected to the living room area is the bathroom. It comes with a beautiful, large, well lit vanity. They provided shower cap, lotion, cotton balls, Q tips, and even a shoe sponge! The sink area is out in the open, then theres a door for the toilet and shower. All the provided shampoos and conditioners smelled good. Shower was strong and I especially liked the shower door and tiles. Connected to the bathroom is the bedroom. There is a sliding barn door, which I thought was so cute. The bedroom had a king bed, hanging open closet, large TV, and a bench at the end of the bed. They provided one robe that we could use and buy for $85 plus tax. Both nightstands had USB, outlets, and wireless charging. Bed was large and comfy, blanket was warm, and pillows were big and fluffy! My only complaint would probably the AC isn't as affective as we had hoped. I kept waking up hot and sweaty, even though the thermostat was set to the lowest at 65.

Yelp
I've had rooms at the Sonesta for 4-5 trips over the past six years. Honestly, it has been a fallback for me when other hotels I prefer are not available, mainly because of it's conveniently close location to my office. The Sonesta also had an in-house restaurant with a $15 breakfast buffet that was very strong on protein and fruit options, which fit the keto diet I was on at the time. But, a recent visit in the midst of a remodel was off putting as they provided no prior warning and the construction crews began between 6 and 7 am and were disruptive to morning sleep. The rooms are large, but the beds were uncomfortable. On a recent trip I decided to give the Sonesta another chance, figuring that ample time for the upgrade to complete had passed. I was mostly right. The new rooms are quite nice. The decor is modern and the mattress an upgrade. A Kuerig with four cartridges sits on a nicely organized amenity shelf with small fridge at the bottom and ice bucket at the top. The cups are individually wrapped plastic, sanitary but not the most eco-friendly. The mirror light had ample dispersion and a close-up mirror with an extending arm made closeup post-shaving inspection easy. Atop the nit list was an extremely strong cleaning odor in the room upon entry all three days. The room updates are complete, but the construction crews are still working on an update to the restaurant, starting as early as 6 AM. One morning when I could have slept until 7:30, I was awakened at 6:10 by the sound of sheet metal dropping on concrete outside my window, followed by the shouting of construction crews. I complained to the front desk, but I suspect there's nothing they can do except require construction to start later. The upgrade will be finished by the end of December 2019. For this reason alone I would not stay here again until after that time. The lobby is quite comfortable after the update, with a decent continental breakfast provided while the restaurant is being finished. Also notable is the elevator looks exceptionally worn. Perhaps they are saving this until the last since traffic will be heavy with construction crews until then. Staff was generally helpful and pleasant. Overall a four star experience, with hope that the Sonesta will only improve once they have completed the construction and overall face lift.

Yelp
This was actually my first time staying at this hotel. The front desk associate was extremely nice, his name was Ivan. Checking in was a breeze, although we booked the room literally a few hours before coming. We booked the room through Kayak for a very good deal. As Ivan assisted us, he got us a room on the second floor. Showed the breakfast menu and also signed us up for the travel rewards program. He was extremely attentive! As for the executive king suite that we got, it was absolutely AMAZING. The living room was very spacious, you get a couch, a small table with two chairs, a large tv, the next room would be the bathroom, which is soo clean and nice! Through the sliding door, the bedroom is extremely cozy and comfy. I would definitely stay here again, a home away from home. Especially how amazing the executive king suite looked.

Yelp
I decided to book a staycation for one night and came across this place. The atmosphere is really nice. I was quickly helped, the room came with a $10 credit to their mini snack bar. but a parfait was about $8. I wanted to order room service but their restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday so be aware but they have a list of restaurants near. I was given 2 drink coupons but because the restaurant was closed I was a little disappointed. We stayed on the 3rd floor everything looks very modern and spacious. The beds in the room were so soft and comfy. The shower was off the track and I couldnt fix it but that was minor. There is no microwave in the room but there was one on the floor by the ice machine. We went down to the jacuzzi which was really nice and closes at 10. The pool is big and heated they also have towels outside for you to grab. There is also an outside sitting area with heaters. I did see a mention of $15/night for parking I don't recall paying for, that's a little bizarre.

Yelp
Was definitely skeptical about booking our stay here because of all the negative reviews. The hotel is updated, clean, and really nice. Apparently renovation started back in 2018 and was completed this year. I know this may sound weird but I always check out the hallways at the hotels we stay at. These hallways were clean and immaculate. Our room was pretty spacious for a deluxe king room. Honestly we can't complain about anything here. My husband is really big about going to a hotel that is CLEAN and he really liked it here. Bed and pillows were nice and comfy as well. There is also a wireless charging pad on the night stand which I thought was really convenient. If we need to stay on this side again, we would definitely come back. Also, parking is free. (Just had to throw that out there since that is always a concern of mine)

Yelp
Today is our last day here at Sonesta Silicon Valley. We had a great 3 day staycation after canceling our plans to the East Coast for the holiday due to COVID. We chose this area because of it's drivable proximity to places we wanted to eat. The hotel is in the middle of office buildings so most of our trips needed a car - - it's been raining almost the entire time anyway. Our room is very clean and the bed is very comfortable! Front desk staff are also friendly and helpful. I took a star out due to its thin walls. We can literally hear conversations of people from another room as well as people on the hallway. Seems like the room next to us and across have families having staycation as well. It didn't bother me much except one evening I'm trying to sleep after a food coma. Haha!

Yelp
this hotel is a huge scam and the customer service is ridiculous. pao is a joke of a "manager". i had prepaid for my reservation and as a platinum expedia member and this veing a vip access hotel i get comp upgrades if available. prior to checking in i received an email asking if i want to do an upgrade on my room with various upgrade charge. i opened up the email and was trying to read the description of the rooms. i dont know if by doing so it chose a selection but by no means was that my intention! i was not aware that any upgrade was selected! especially because i knew we weren't checking in till after midnight and only staying one night. i could stay at a 5 star place fpr what i ended up paying here. i even called the hotel and showed pao the number, the time, and how long my conversation was and even confirmed my room booking and i wasnt told about any upgrades charge, so how was i supposed to know my room was upgraded for a fee! i have worked in the hotel industry for over 10 years and this place runs a huge scam in charging people for things without even confirming it! even at check in (mind you the check in guy was amazing) i should have been told that i was paying for an upgraded room or even told i have you in blah blah blah room type. let alone they should have informed me at check in and authorized my card for the incidental fee plus the upgrade charge. that way i definitely wpuld have questioned it. but according to pao i should have cancelled it at check in, even though i wasnt even aware that i had to pay additional fee for the room when i am eligible for a free upgrade anyways. this hotel is running a scam by not informing guests at check in for what they are getting and paying for. because had i known i was going to be paying almost $250 for 11 hours i would have stayed someplace a lot nicer. even then i have never heard of a hotel not authorizing a card for a full charge. because as i told pao, the hotel authorized my card for the $75 what if i chose to just leave due to being unaware that my "upgrade" was $100. then how would the hotel collect the rest of the funds? pao was rude and inconsiderate of the brand and her customer service is completely horrendous! she does not know how to handle situations and just kept saying i should have called to cancel. even though i showed her the call log and explained to her how can i cancel something if i didnt know i was paying for something extra. this hotel just wants money and doesnt care how they get it. they should have sent an email regarding a upgrade confirmation or told me at check in about it or even over the phone when i called. let alone if they told me that they were going to authorize the card for the incidentals and upgrade charge i would have immediately put an end to the upgrade. the way pao handled it though was with an early morning call waking up my husband, even though isnt until 11. pao needs to be fired her attitude and customer service is definitely motel 6 vibes!

Yelp
I'm so happy we didn't go off of the reviews and star ratings for this hotel. This place was more than what I expected. We didn't make any reservations and we got there around 8pm. The gentleman that was working that night was very professional and accommodating. We asked for a room on the first floor and we got it. With the whole pandemic that's going on, this hotel has a sticker you have to rip off before using your hotel key, letting you know that the room has been sanitized and cleaned. I like that because it reassured me that this business cares about my family's health and we'll being. That's why whenever we're in town, we'll be staying here again and this time a little bit longer. Wish I took more pictures but I will next time when we stay with them.

Yelp
This rating is for Ivan at the front desk who is absolutely amazing! I was having one of the worst times of my life as I traveled with a person who is completely miserable. We stayed there a few nights and the person who I was traveling with finally left the night before check out. It was an incredibly peaceful night and I felt relieved but then my son and I turn the TV on and we cant get it to work. The only person who knew how to work it was the one that had left. I call the front desk and it was probably 10 pm and Ivan tells me the handy man has left for the night. He then comes upstairs and tries to help us with the TV but it isn't working. He then proceeds to give us a new room with a working TV. It felt like a fresh start to a horrible trip. He made my day, week, and month. He was so kind and is absolutely funny. Just because of Ivan I would stay here again!

Yelp
Traveling to the area for a birthday party and my daughter referred me here. I'd never heard of it, but thought it'd be nice to be in the same hotel as my daughter and her family. First, the place is undergoing a major renovation so much of the place is either covered in plastic or walled off. Wish I'd known this before booking. At any rate, due to the construction, the front desk is a small one tucked to the side of plastic covered and walled off areas. The two clerks at the front were friendly and got us checked-in. Our room was all the way at the end of a hall, right next to what appeared to be the employee locker and laundry room. Upon entering there was a musty smell, but the room was a nice size and clean, and the beds were comfortable. Would I pick this place if I were to do it again? Probably not.

Yelp
My husband I stayed at Sonesta the weekend of Valentines Day. We were there to attend the Valentines Day dance which tortilla soup band was going to play at. The girls at the front desk were very helpful and nice. Our room was really nice and clean. We had dinner at the restaurant/bar and the food was great. Definitely going to be our new spot!

Yelp
I love hotels tucked away in business parkways when staying in Silicon Valley. Sonesta fits the bill! No people nor traffic because it was the weekend. And no other hotel within sight. All making for a very quiet and relaxing feel. Except for the beautiful pair of black crows splashing away in the outside Hotel water feature ...you could have heard a pin drop. My sweet Sister surprised me with a gift of a night's stay here so I would not have to drive home late after a mutual friend's dinner party. As any smart Yelpster would do...I read the reviews before leaving home. Oh my! Quite a few poor ones. With plenty of time in the car (California traffic the absolute worst), I formulated a few of the questions/requests I wanted to make upon check-in! Upon arriving, totally frazzled from the drive...I would have rather been walking into a Wine Bar than a hotel check in:). But Alex, behind the counter, quickly changed my whole attitude with a big smile and a "how are you doing"! He is a definite keeper (Hope the GM reads this review). After a brief conversation and me asking about the 'construction in progress' posting on the hotel website...he explained no construction on weekends (yay) and he would put me in a quiet room (yay again). So I left feeling pretty darn happy and thanking my lucky stars for Alex! Not far at all....really just steps away, was a hallway down and around the Lobby where my beautiful room was waiting for me. And beautiful it was. Small but spacious feel, living-type room with a working desk, small refrig/microwave, coffee maker, couch, table and big, flat screen t.v. Thru the next door...the bath area. Large vanity, sink, mirror and across the hallway...small closet and then a door into the shower area. And yes, thru door #3 (lol) was the bedroom. Good sized! Big bed...probably a King. The always nice, big-screen t.v. An awesome window letting the natural light in but heavy duty black out coverings for morning sun! Everything beyond my expectations! I really need to thank Alex again because I am off to an outstanding start at Sonesta! Upon arriving back at Sonesta after my dinner party...1 a.m. or later...if anyone cares (laughing), there was no parking...Yikes...the place was full. There was an empty space with a sign, "Employee of the Month". So it is late it is dark....hmmmm...I have always wanted to be an employee of the month...why not now? So park I did. When I walked in the hotel, one sweet employee was behind the desk. I did ask if it was ok to park there and he said yes...as he was the Employee of the Month! He said he found a closer parking space! I really thought the whole episode was hilarious. Slept like a baby in that, oh, so comfortable bed! Three doors between me and the hallway. It was heaven. Upon waking, I managed to stumble to the very, close front desk in search of, already brewed, coffee. Two lovely ladies were working behind the desk... Maii and Cynthia! They could not have been more friendly and welcoming. Maii pointed me in the direction of the complimentary coffee and I was on my way. Very good coffee...strong! Real half and half. Score big time. I walked out into the spacious, lovely courtyard and sat on one of the comfortable couches. Not one person out here at 10 a.m. Quiet, and very zen like area! Loved it! So after all that resting in the Courtyard, I have worked up a breakfast appetite! Brandon's Restaurant is a hop, skip and jump in the back of the Hotel. The go-to Restaurant, bar, etc for the hotel guests. Really nice place! Huge! A sun room was where the buffet breakfast items were placed. The sun room looked onto the Hotel pool. Just a beautiful view. Quality food: Scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, pancakes, pastries and fruit! What's not to like. Gonzalo, my very sweet server, also asked if I wanted orange juice or coffee. But I was perfect with my plate of breakfast! Nice tables with real cloth napkins....really an elegant room. They serve lunch and breakfast! As I left the dining area...I peeked into the bar. It was also super nice and very open and large. Even a piano! Did I mention I asked for a 12:30 p.m. check out (By the way, standard check out time Noon... how cool is that!)? I was moving slow. Maii was so sweet and asked if wanted a 1 p.m. check out. I certainly was not going to turn that down. Thank you, Maii! Well, if you had the patience to read this review in full....I am pretty sure you have figured out I had an outstanding stay at Sonesta! And I want to thank everyone involved in making that stay possible. THANK YOU ALEX, EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH PERSON, MAII, CYNTHIA AND GONZALO!!! I truly am humbled by your collective professionalism!

Yelp
Why you chose "SONESTA"? that world mislead me. Walking in the room, it smelled SO BAD,SO BAD, SO BAD. The bathroom is big but The shower room is tiny, the body washer smelled very cheap. The Insulation is ZERO, whole night is "noise party ". The location is so bad, and hard to find the front door,Too many decorations in the hall, the hall is MAZE.

Yelp
They finished renovations. Now the hotel is just awesome and nice. I guess they got many bad reviews before and during the renovation so they make the average rating lower. However, after checked in and see the room. I really have to say it worth the money and really nice. The room is really spacious, modern furnitures, lot lights, comfortable bed and the pillows are super super fluffy, big TV, both side night stand has built in USB outlets and wireless charger, clean and white bathroom. There're coffee maker, fridge and safe in the room but no microwave. If you need a microwave you can make a request (free) and they will bring one to your room. Location: the hotel is located in a industrial area, with many company buildings around. So there's no store or restaurant in walking distance. However, I drive so the location doesn't bother me. Great mall(outlet) is also close by(6-7 mins drive). Gym is right next to my room which is really convenient. However, during my stay the pool still not open yet. (Because they just finished renovation) Their restaurant looks nice but pricey just like most of hotels. WiFi is fast and free.

Yelp
I was disappointed coming to this hotel. We had about 7 different family members booked at this hotel and was disappointed that the breakfast wasn't included with our rooms. Also was very unhappy that the refrigerator was so small where you couldn't hardly place anything in there and the ice part of the refrigerator was extremely tiny. If your staying 5 days or more; you would want to have a large enough refrigerator/freezer for if your doing alot of take out food; you need to store your food appropriately. Also discovered there was no microwave in the room; where we all had to ask for one. It was great they brought it to us but still would have been nice to have them in there as a standard amenity. The night staff very nice at the front desk but the one during the day wasn't very friendly. I would love to teach her how to smile. Definitely when coming to California again; I would choose a hotel with free breakfast and better amenities.

Yelp
First, there is more than meets the eye from the outside. The inside is newly renovated and decorated in a mid century modern / urban chic style. Very tasteful. The staff here are ALL very professional, helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, and kind. Thanks for making me feel welcome. I stayed here for a week and part of me didn't want to leave. The room was spacious, decorated tastefully, was all new everything, was very clean, the bed was super comfy, tv allows for easy chromecast streaming, shower was great and it was very comfy. The cherry on top was how affordable it was. Under $100 each night. I definitely will return and highly recommend. PS they also have night security to keep things safe as it's a dark little area with huge parking lot.

Yelp
We stayed from October 11-14, 2018. We got this mystery Hot Rate deal on Hotwire, where they don't tell you exact name/location of the hotel until after booking. We thought it was a pretty good deal, considering it was listed as a 3.5 Star Hotel in Milpitas area. The location of the hotel was a bit tucked and hidden in an old, commercialized corner. We saw it at one point from the highway but getting in there was harder than expected. Once we arrived, it was impossible finding parking. The sides and back of the hotel were closed with construction. The parking spaces were filled up and only available slots were around the dark corner near construction zones. The entire hotel was basically a construction zone. The front entrance and reception area were messy. One of the elevators were out of order. As soon as we got up to the 2nd floor, we breathed in an old smoke smell. The halls, walls, carpets, doors, basically everything was ancient looking. Thank God our room did not smell like smoke, but the carpet, walls, lights were in horrible condition. There were cracks and mold on the walls and ceilings. The A/C was loud and bothersome the entire time. The only pro was that their water heater worked really well, so hot water was strong. It was not a pleasant stay at all. I would not recommend unless you only want a mattress to sleep on for few hours. We spent no waking time in the room or hotel. As soon as we woke up, showered and dressed, we were out of that hotel. It desperately needs a makeover and they should've closed it completely during renovation, because now, when I hear of Sonesta, I'm going to think of a run-down 1-star motel.

Yelp
The bad: - rooms are noisy, no sound proofing. You can hear everything from pool, hallways, adjacent rooms -overpriced breakfast and slow service. There was only one friendly waitress taking orders for a room full of people and multiple tables. They need more staff. definitely skip breakfast here and go to Panera instead. The good: Lovely hotel, pristine, nice staff, clean, modern, spacious and comfortable room with refrigerator.

Yelp
This is the hidden gems of hotels around the North San Jose area. We stayed here for 6 weeks. Yes... 6 weeks! We did some home remodeling and needed some housing during this time period. The price was much cheaper then any other hotels out here, or any airbnb around the area. Believe me, I did my research... I was scared at first but after reading the reviews on Yelp and Trip Advisor, I had to jump the gun and give it a shot. At that time, Priceline had the best price for long stays. If booked over 12 days, you'll be elgible to get the discount promotion, which I got. It turned out to be around $100 a night for the first 2 weeks. I didn't book the full 6 weeks since I wanted to experience it first. Although, I wished I booked the full 6 weeks at the promo price because after the 2 weeks, you know hotel price fluctuates.. I paid a bit more for the rest of my stay but it was STILL TOTALLY WORTH IT! This place was remodeled about 2 years ago so the decor inside is modern. This includes the main lobby area and the rooms. The room we stayed in was so clean that I couldn't believe it for the price. It really felt like a 4.5 star hotel but paying for 2/3 star price. Most visitors you'll see here are business travelers. There are a bunch of tech companies around the area. You won't experience much parties here like other hotels. This was perfect for my family during our long stay. The service was TOP NOTCH! The people at the front desk were friendly and professional. Whatever amenities I needed, they would get it for me. My favorite person had to be the lady working at the bar. She would greet us for breakfast, lunch or even when we just wanted drinks. She ALWAYS made us feel welcomed. She always said hello to our kids and offer them orange juice everytime we stepped in, no questions asked. The hotel only has one restaurant and bar so but that's all you really need. They also have a pool and hot tub. My kids LOVES IT! They swam a lot at the begining of our stay. 5ft was the max so it was pretty safe. I definitely recommend this place because of their price, location, quality of customer service and room cleanliness.

Yelp
Staying here was wonderful guest services was super friendly, professional and easy to communicate with. Upon booking online, a request for a late check out was honored two hours, because they were able to accommodate the rest needed was accomplished. Everything is new! Clean Beautiful to the eye and needless to say the rates are affordable. I would highly recommend I stay here for those who may be visiting San Jose or other towns nearby and would be OK staying over in Milpitas this hotel is surely worth it.

Yelp
Only because I have to put a star but for me it should be no star ... first thing I was mad I had book online where I was charge more for a jr suite that comes with a sofabed and it didn't.. they said that was false advertisement... then couple of hours later when we were about to go to bed I see a tick on the bed and I ran down to the lobby and requested for them to change my room and the guy that was there said that's a spider not a tick .. then I said mad no this is a tick and I have my kids .. you are going to change my room now .. and that room even had bad smell I felt really uncomfortable .. then when they change my room I couldn't even sleep I had to turn up side down the whole room my self .... really bad service and bad cleaning service..

Yelp
If I could give a minus star, I would. We requested a room with a walk in shower for the night of the 15th of January, 2023. We were visiting our daughter and son in law who live several blocks away from the hotel. We checked into the hotel on our way to a family dinner Our room was a long way from the lobby on the ground floor. It was also a room for the disabled which we did not request, need, or even like. We left our suitcase in the room, then went out for dinner, and did not return for several hours. When we returned, we could not get into the room because it was locked from the inside. We had to get the manager to let us in. She told us that we had probably slammed the door too hard, which brought down the security lock. We are not door slammers, but we said nothing. The manager stayed near the entrance as we entered, then left. The room felt cold, and many of the cabinet doors were slightly open. My husband noticed that the bathroom had been used, and left dirty. I then found our suitcase on the bed, opened, and in disarray. It was very drafty in the room. I looked behind the closed curtains and discovered that the window was wide open, and that there was a walk just a few feet below the window. Then we discovered that my husband's Apple lap top computer was missing, along with his electric razor, and the clothes that I intended to wear the next day. We immediately notified the desk, and the manager came back with someone else who took photos. We were told that the room would be free for the night, but I explained that I could not stay in that room. The manager replied that she would find us another room, so we were moved to the third floor, and given a room with a walk in shower which is what I had asked for when I made our reservation. Before we moved, the manager also asked us if we wanted to press charges. We quite naturally wanted our stolen items back. We also wanted to make sure that the police were notified. Officers from the Milpitas Police Department arrived quickly. They took our statements, then carefully examined the room, and took fingerprints. We discovered later that the window had been installed in such a way that it could not be locked. That was in the police report. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels all over the world , as I am 83 years old, and travel a lot. I have never had anything like this happen before. I can't help but wonder what would have happened if we had returned earlier, and been inside the room when it was robbed. Why would any responsible hotel put anyone, let alone two people in their 80's into a room far from the lobby, that could not be locked, and could be so easily entered by an intruder. In regards to the hotel room, it was divided into three sections. The entry has an inexpensive bench and sofa, table with chairs, TV, an incredibly ugly standing lamp and a small black set of shelves that held the coffee maker which would not work. The second (middle) segment of the room held the bathroom, and the last segment of the room was where the bed, and another television was placed. The bed was not very comfortable. and had another bench at the foot of the bed, which was easy to trip over during the night. The only high point was that when we wandered into the breakfast room, after discovering we could not make coffee in our room, we were told we could order fresh food. Neither of us like the dreary long standing and similar breakfast items that are offered at hotel buffets. I did have two well cooked eggs with fresh crispy potatoes, and bacon for breakfast. It came fresh from the kitchen. Our breakfast waitress was also competent, and kind. Would we ever stay here again. No. Never. Not even with a good fresh breakfast. We should never have been put in a room that could not be secured.

Yelp
My family and I stayed at this hotel for over 6 weeks!! Yes, it was our home away from home during our house remodel/reconstruction. We chose this hotel due to the pricing, location to home, and it's cleanliness. The hotel's design is modern, bright, airy, and comfortable. We loved how the bathroom was so spacious. We also enjoyed the complimentary wi-fi and friendliness of the staff. They always went above and beyond at providing great service and assistance. This hotel is by a highway, which meant we heard noise from our room. This wasn't an issue as it served as background noise/white noise for our young kids. The walls are kind of thin, but we rarely heard noise from our next door neighbors. Since we were on the 3rd floor, we also didn't have to worry about noise coming from upstairs. Their breakfast buffet had some good options- eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, pancakes or waffles, a variety of fruit and pastries, and a yogurt bar. No, breakfast isn't included in the stay. So beware of that when booking. Make sure you call the hotel to verify. The TV channels are also limited, but again, with free wi-fi, there's the opportunity to use your personal devices to log into Netflix, YouTube, online games, etc. Parking is free and plenty from 8am to about 6pm. Around 7pm and on, finding parking closer to the entrance, which we preferred, gets difficult. The pool is pretty standard. It has a nice heated pool, with a hot tub separated away from it. It isn't usually busy, either, with a lot of seats always available. My kids really enjoyed their times at the pool and we all enjoyed our time in this hotel. We are surely going to miss it, but we are happy to have found a great hotel in the area that we had called home. This is our hidden gem of a hotel.

Yelp
This place was fantastic! Talk about wonderful management also. The staff was so friendly and made sure that cleanliness was a huge priority- indeed it was! The general manager "FitzRoy" was so awesome and classy. They surprised us with champagne, and strawberry since it was our anniversary! We loved the place! The pool and hot tub was a bonus and there were complimentary towel service! This place is brand new and beautifully renovated to a nice modern look and appeal. We swam for 2 days straight and took advantage of the swimming pool for hours! Thanks so much Sonesta staff. We'll be back very soon!
