Songbirds Rainforest Retreat

What an amazing experience being surrounded by prehistoric rain forest and an abundance of wildlife. Luxurious villa with spa bath and veranda meant long soaks, practically in the trees listening to a plethora of birds frogs and other critters creating a symphony of natural sounds. We felt well looked after and the resort’s grounds manager gave us great advice about things to do and see in the area. Thanks Troy you are an asset to the business!! Thoroughly recommend this experience!!

We stayed in Villa 4. I'm not sure on value as my husband booked the room. While the room itself was nice enough it could definitely use some TLC and updating and a little more care in their cleaning. There was a big smudge right across the mirror in the main living area. The grout in the bathroom has seen better days and the jets in the bathtub did not look inviting. The window and screen next to the bathtub looked like they hadn't been cleaned in awhile which seemed to defeat the rainforest view that would have provided a wow. There was also a cockroach on the sill. We couldn't open one of the sliding screen doors and the glass sliding doors were hard to open. There were cracks in various places of the wall. We stayed on a Friday night and asked what time the restaurant was open and they said it wasn't open that night despite their website and room information stating differently. The lady at check in was not bad but not overly welcoming or friendly either. Overall it was just a bit underwhelming. I think I saw somewhere it was a 5 star hotel. Maybe in its heyday it was but I wouldn't consider it 5 star personally.

We had a really enjoyable stay at Songbirds. The fireplace was lovely and it was so nice to see the light coming through the trees in the morning. It’s very comfortable, and while it’s pretty low key (not super luxurious), we couldn’t have asked for anything more. Having the heater on when we arrived was a really nice touch and service was friendly. The outdoor furniture was too dusty and dirty to use (due to being truly immersed in nature), however we didn’t need to, but it’s worth noting if that’s your plans - you’d need to wipe it down. There’s also plenty of seating options in the room.

We had a great experience staying at Songbirds. Loved the spacious room, bathroom and the balcony with amazing rainforest views. |Very peaceful and relaxing. |Our children had lots of fun talking to and feeding goats and alpacas at the back of the retreat. |We would like to visit Songbirds again in the future.

*1 ★ – Terrible Experience* I am extremely disappointed with Songbird Rainforest Retreat. The staff member I spoke with was outright rude and seemed completely uninterested in helping us. She claimed there were no rooms, yet a quick online search showed availability. When I pointed this out, she casually replied, “Okay, you’ll just have to wait 2‑3 hours for us to clean a room.” Her tone was dismissive, and the whole interaction left us feeling unwelcome and deterred from booking altogether. Absolutely no professionalism or courtesy. Would not recommend this resort to anyone.

Staying here for 1 night and what an embarrassment not only is the room not clean! Spiderwebs, green mold and dust. Would not recommend at all. On top of that we find out after checking in they have a wild dog problem! After we paid, there should be a disclaimer especially prior to booking

Absolutely stunning. Booked on a whim, the last room. The staff are exceptional and the cabins are really comfortable. We went in the rain which made the stay even more magic. The only regret is we didn't explore the huge property. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was amazing. From all the previous bad reviews I had mixed feelings and went with no expectations but this is by the far, the best rainforest cabin I have stayed in across Mount Tamborine. I should of stayed 2 nights. It would be a fantastic place if you need to recharge
