Well - I don’t even know where to begin talking about how much I LOVE this place & Kris Knight! Thank you for being the BEST wedding venue we could have imaged. Kris was so great to work & communicate with. She made all of our visions come true, including croquet in the lawn, a model T car dropping us off at the mansion, a big jazz band playing at the mansion, and quite simply - the most stunning tent there ever was. Thank you to this place. 10/10 recommend having your wedding here.

Stunning formal gardens and grounds. The serene Japanese Garden is by far one of my favourites from any place I have ever visited. There are plenty of picnic tables, benches and quiet spots to while away the hours in this fabulous setting. The bathrooms are clean. There is ample parking. The only downer were the ladies in the gift shop (hence 3 stars not 5). Super hoity toity like they worked for Harrods or King Charles. Their arrogance was cutting. I don’t think they should judge people if they look different to what they are used to. I am mentioning this because it’s happened twice. I will visit again but will bypass the gift shop from now on.

Lovely gardens and grounds. Mostly very well maintained. Several of the many conservatories and a few garden structures needed significant restoration. Wide diversity of plant material except in formal Italianate garden. Plenty of parking Cafe available

Beautiful gardens to wander through. Amazing history of this home and the people who lived here. Well worth the visit.

Sonnenberg Gardens & Mansion is a beautiful and tranquil place. The estate was created in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The estate was home to Frederick Ferris and Mary Clark Thompson. Mary hired a famous Boston architect named Ernest Bowditch to redesign the estate grounds. It is easy to spend several hours admiring all the different gardens. Some of the best on the estate include the Rock Garden, Japanese Garden, Moonlight Garden, and Italian Garden. The Gilded Age mansion is also one of a kind. Almost every room offers something unique and different. For both the gardens and mansion there is self guided mobile tour. The estate is very large and there are still parts of it being restored. It continues to get better with time. Tickets are available at the estate. The staff at the estate was helpful and friendly. Check the website for hours and days that the estate is open. This estate is easily one of the best places to see in the Finger Lake region of NY State.

This is a lovely and historic garden in the Finger Lakes region. There are great old trees and lush shady walks underneath them. The house is beautiful and available for self-guided tours. The greenhouses are ready for restoration, but still offer a romantic look to the past.

The estate is an interesting place to visit and see how wealthy people live. The story of the couple who owned it is quite interesting. They started Citi Bank. This was their summer 'cottage'. It is currently run by volunteers. There are trolleys that take you through the property, and the drivers are quite knowledgeable and willing to answer questions. During the summer they also hold various events. The tickets are $16 for adults, but do check the site for discounts.
