Google
Overall, my friends and I had a great time on the wine tour! The highlight was definitely the trolley ride between wineries — such a fun way to explore. The tastings were decent, though each winery had a different vibe and we mostly got reds, not as many white or sparkling options. It seemed like we didn’t get the full tasting menus either. Still, it’s a great option if you want to visit multiple spots without doing much planning. Just a heads up: each winery charges a separate tasting fee — ours ranged from $24–$45.

Google
Wonderful day! Great experience. Trolley car driver Paul was exceptional. Knowledge, friendly, funny and keep everyone on time. Wine stops were perfectly picked! Something special at each stop.

Kerri S.

Google
To say we were satisfied with our tour is a huge understatement. Paul was fantastic. He was so knowledgeable and offered dinner and hiking recommendations for the next day. He played a lit playlist on the way back to drop off. He was deeply knowledgeable about the area and California history. He even made sure we stayed hydrated during the brutal 104 heat! I am thrilled we went… my favorite day of our entire vacation. Paul is a gem.

Sandy C.

Google
This was an awesome wine tour! We went to four awesome wineries and a farm to table lunch that was a perfect pairing for our wine tasting. The driver was informative, fun, and most of all patient with all of his very tipsy patrons.

Google
We celebrated my soon to be sister-in-law's bachelorette in Sonoma earlier this month and one of the activities the maid of honor chose for us was this wine trolley. We weren't sure what to expect, but we certainly enjoyed our time in the end! We were the first group to arrive and got the run down from the driver. The first part of the trolley the driver gave us a bit of a history lesson for Sonoma Valley then he moved into playing music for us. We went to 4 wineries starting with the largest one and finishing with the smallest. The first had incredible photo ops and by the last one we were singing all the songs having a blast! Be sure to bring something warm to wear as we ended up in the open air into the early evening and some of our party was getting very chilly. It was overall a very enjoyable experience. Be prepared to spend a decent amount of money if you plan on wine tasting at each winery and purchasing any of the bottles afterwards. I've attached a few of the views we saw on the trolley ☺️

Google
We had a blast on this tour! Greg was our tour guide and he was extremely knowledgeable and helpful throughout the day. The price adds up quickly with the tasting fees however, the quality of wine we tasted throughout the day and the fun of the whole experience made it worth it to us. I highly recommend!!!!

Elizabeth C.

Google
Amazing experience! We got to visit 4 different wineries with varying winemaking styles and stories. Paul was a great guide. Learned a lot about Sonoma and how different it is from Napa. 100% would recommend specially if you don't want to drive to get to the wineries.

Lynn W.

Google
Had the most fun today on wine trolly tour. Paul was a great tour guide and the day just kept getting better. A lot of new friends by the end of the day. Highly recommend.

Yelp
What a fun experience! Highly recommend this fun trolley tour! We had an intimate group of 8 people. Two honeymooners and two mom daughter duos. We were all laughing and have such a great time together! Our guide Paul was hilarious and had lots of great knowledge of the area. Everyone is small business owned at the places we stopped at and also felt very natural and warm. The interactions with everyone was fun and I definitely got some wine knowledge too! We stoped at four places. One beautiful vineyar with spectacular views, a food terrace and wine tasting area, a winery and makery, and another wine tasting bar. Would definitely do this again and highly recommend!

Yelp
A great experience. The driver was extremely helpful and informative. The wineries supplied different experiences from beautiful views to extremely informed of information about how the wine is made.

Yelp
Really enjoyed our tour! We had the bad luck of it being cold and rainy so it was pretty disappointing that we had the 'van' instead of the actual trolley, but the van was at least very comfortable (and apparently quite a bit faster than the trolley, ha). Our guide was great, and we got to visit four different wineries...and of course not worry about driving anywhere ;) Just a warning, though - and something I didn't realize/think about before booking - we had about an hour and a half at each winery, but of course the tasting takes at most a third of that time - so if you or someone in your party isn't a huge wine person (I am, my partner is not), it can be a bit much. I think if we had gone to some different wineries this would have been more palatable, but only the first one we went to (BR Cohn) had space to walk around, beautiful views, etc. Thankfully one of the other ones we visited (Mayo Family Winery) included some time learning about their production process :) The included lunch (a panini, some potato salad, chips, and gelato) was very good, though the "prosciutto" panini wasn't actually prosciutto, just ham. Again, not a big deal, but it should have been advertised for what it was, haha. Overall, we had a great experience, and I WOULD suggest doing this tour (especially as we did it during a holiday week and I know there's a chance some vineyards/wineries weren't open, or maybe not amenable to tour groups), but my suggestion to the tour company would be that, due to the amount of time spent at each stop, to try to have a better balance between vineyards/wineries that have the space and views etc. to explore with ones that are smaller and less, shall we say, picturesque.

Yelp
We booked the wine trolley for a day of wine tasting for a bachelorette trip. Our day started off slow, we had no idea what was in store for us. By the end of it we were dancing, cruisin and blastin toons on the ol' trolley! Paul was the ultimate driver, we had a few people who were unable to book the trolley and get seats so they followed behind and Paul made sure they had tastings with us at every stop. PAUL DESERVES A RAISE!!!

Rebecca V.

Yelp
A wonderful experience! Paul was engaged and wanted to participants to have fun! Got to participate in a total of 4 tastings, each of which were uniquely different from each other, giving us the full Sonoma experience!
google avatar

Yelp
Went on the wine trolley tour and it was really great! Had a blast in the open air trolley visiting 4 different wineries and being able to be among the grapes in the first one. I think the first winery B.R. Cohn was probably the nicest of the 4 we went to. Followed that up with VJB where we had lunch and free gelato which was really nice. Then went to smaller wineries after that, Mayo and Seamus. Both definitely had a more quaint feel to them. The day was made by our driver who gave us details of the Sonoma area, each winery and some cool songs along the way. Would recommend for a couple or a group as well. Very fun

Yelp
We had a great time with Paul on our tour! We were a small group of 10 and we really got to know one another! We enjoyed all of the wineries visited, and loved how friendly everyone was along the way. The trolley was stocked with water and places to store any purchases, which was a nice touch. We'd definitely recommend this to any of our friends visiting in the future.

Yelp
There were 6 of us that came in from AZ to experience the Sonoma wine country. The Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley was an awesome experience and our tour guide, Paul, did an exceptional job of giving history during the whole day of the tour. This was a great way to explore wineries while learning about Sonoma!
google avatar

Catherine N.

Yelp
Our tour guide Richard was great. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and learning about all the wineries.

Brenda D.

Yelp
Celebrating my husband's birthday with the Sonoma Wine Trolley. Such a fun filled day. Four stops, and LOTS of wine. Good to know you can sit out the last two tastings but still participate in the educational experience. Riding the trolley from place to place was fun. Brian was our tour driver, and it is clear he loves his job and has a deep passion for the area and the wine. Thanks to Brian and team for such a memorable experience.
google avatar

Lindsay D.

Yelp
What an adventurous and fun-filled day! It was a great way to spend the day after Christmas, and what a wonderful group of people! The folks at the wineries were equally as wonderful. We really enjoyed ourselves. Our driver, Dennis, was fantastic, as well. My partner and I really enjoyed talking to him. I will recommend Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley to anyone making a trip to NorCal. If it's chilly or overcast, be sure to bundle up and enjoy a ride on the open-air part of the trolley! Great overall value!
google avatar

Carlos V.

Yelp
Had a wonderful time and met some great people. Went to 4 wineries, the scenery was fantastic and the wine delicious. The driver was fun and very friendly.
google avatar

Melissa H.

Yelp
We were only in wine country for a day, so we wanted to make our day memorable. We picked the Trolley Tour after trying to plan our own tasting day- but with all the vineyards we were overwhelmed! We chose the Trolley over biking because let's face it- riding a bike after wine sounded a bit dangerous! The trolley went to 3 adorable places for wine tasting- and we bought bottles at each one. Each place had its own charm. Our lunch was delicious- I got the mozzarella tomato panini and my husband got the prosciutto panini. A scoop of gelato for dessert was a treat in the heat. Richard drove our trolley and was extremely informative during our ride (also kept us hydrated). We would definitely recommend the trolley tour!!! We were even given hand sanitizers bottled locally and masks upon arrival.
google avatar

Jamie B.

Yelp
Great time highly recommend! 2nd time doing this exact trolley, same wineries and route even, but I'd do it again! Had a different type of wine tour the day before which wasn't very fun, we hadn't planned on even doing this trolley again but we needed a fun day after that! Paul is a great driver and guide. The wineries in Sonoma are a lot less pushy and more laid back. Overall highly recommend 5 stars!

Curtis G.

Yelp
Paul was excellent and lots of fun. The weather was terrific so the trolley ride was cool and dry. On time departure and arrival was appreciated. The four wineries were expecting our group and catered to us! The lunch at KBV Winery was a low point (bland with ehh service). B.R. Cohn was a fun stop as was Mayo and Seamus. For the price - so worth it! You go Paul!

Yelp
Catherine was amazing and made our wine tour super fun!! I would definitely recommend!!

Yelp
Just came back from a wonderful day on the Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley! Paul was incredible, and was gracious enough to take the time to give me tips for a different trip I am taking later this summer, in addition to being a great guide on this tour. I've done a number of wine tours in different areas of California, and I have to say that my favorite has been the Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Dayanna J.

Yelp
This was a great tour! Paul was our driver. He was friendly, funny and taught us about the towns history along the way to each vineyard. Each vineyard was different in its own way so you got a separate experience at each one. I highly recommend this tour!

Stacey F.

Yelp
We throughly enjoyed our fabulous Trolley Driver Lexi! She was both accommodating and very knowledgeable! We also loved her choice of music! We would highly recommend Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley due to Lexi! 3 ladies from New York, Mother and 2 daughters celebrating a daughter's 50th Birthday! Gwen Rosenzweig-Mother,daughter's Stacey Fromowitz-birthday girl and Felice Flitt

Amy D.

Yelp
We had a pretty large group on our tour. I think this would be a good tour if you want a good sample of wineries without concerns over driving. Was disappointed there was no speaker system- couldn't hear the driver, and there was no stool to get in and out of the trolley for my mom. If this is needed for your party, make sure you let the tour know.
google avatar

Brenda C.

Yelp
My friend and I had the most amazing time on the Trolley with Lexi yesterday!!! Fun fun experience! We went to three wineries in Sonoma and was nice to ride and not drive. Leave the driving to her!! We met a couple from Florida and sat with them and talked and compared the wines. Lunch was a really great sandwich at the second winery with some good potato salad and chips. Super fun, super nice group and loved the music they played on the Trolley between wineries!! I would highly recommend this tour as it's so relaxing and you don't have to make reservations at each individual winery...they do it for you!!
google avatar

Daniel S.

Yelp
Wine Trolley was above and beyond expectations. Driver, Dennis (?) was very personable and knowledgeable regarding wineries and what to expect along the way in addition to a little history about the area and vineyards.
google avatar

Kate B.

Yelp
Spent a wonderful morning/afternoon touring wineries with the Sonoma valley wine tour. We had originally scheduled for the Napa valley tour but when we had to cancel our trip and reschedule, only Sonoma was available, but it turned out to be some of our favorite wineries and a GREAT experience! Next time we will likely go stay in Sonoma! Our guide was amazing and fun and had a great personality, even giving us a lot of great history on the area and the wineries we visited. Highly recommend to anyone in the area! Fun group, great people, awesome experience!
google avatar

Steve F.

Yelp
We booked the wine trolley this past weekend while in town for some wine tasting, and highly recommend it. Our driver Paul was very knowledgeable on the area and we learned some local history while visiting some really good wineries, and were given a tour at Buena Vista Winery we would not have known about if we were just visiting wineries on our own. Highly recommend it, and well worth the price. Thanks again to Paul for making the trip so enjoyable.
google avatar

Lynn D.

Yelp
Paul was our driver and guide and we all had such a blast!! We went to 4 wineries, starting with B.R. Cohn, and ending at Kenwood which we walked across the street to from having a great lunch and wine tasting at VJB vineyard and Cellars!! The gelato was so good too!! We bought wine from most places it was outstanding!! Most of all, made friends from all over on the trolley!
google avatar

RachelMarie D.

Yelp
Such a great experience! Our tour guide Richard was informative and attentive. Very thoughtful and accommodating. My hat flew off during our journey to the first winery. After getting us settled in at the winery, Richard went back to retrieve my hat! Richard thank you for taking care of us and keep us on schedule, selecting three great wineries and keeping us comfortable. Highly recommended!

Yelp
10/10 would highly recommend!! Amazing tour guide who made us have a great overall experience. Very informative and educational, the speakers could use an upgrade hard to hear occasionally.... Wineries were fun to visit. Liked a few and didn't like others, but every person is bias in what they like. First winery was B.R Cohn, very cool to walk around and look at the venue, their white wine was the best. 2nd winery (can't remember the name... it was Italian) served us lunch and gelato and after a few glasses of wine it's the best thing to help sober up. Their white and red wines were both very good and we ended up getting a glass of white to enjoy with the gelato. Highly recommend the pistachio gelato. The 3rd winery (Mayo Winery) was even better because we had a private tasting and learned a lot about the wine making process and afterwards on our way back from that winery to the square, jammed out to some classic music and the whole train was singing and dancing along. All in all loved it and will 100% be coming back!!!

Jessica N.

Yelp
I guess go on this tour if this is your first day wine tasting or if you know minimal about wine. We were a party of 5 women and were picked up first from a local hotel. It took 1.5 hours to pick up the next 2 groups at different locations. The trolley essentially did a loop of where we were first picked up and where the first winery was. The driver did try to get us enthusiastic about drinking wine and was trying to give us background history. If we could hear him clearly over the loud speaker, maybe I would have enjoyed it more. Instead, the constant sound of the poor sound system was enough to leave me annoyed. The first winery we went to was sub par, did not get a true explanation as to the wines we were drinking from our server. The second winery we went to was much worse, as we were placed in a dark room to eat bagged chips and a very sad excuse for a ham sandwich. Mind you, it was glorious outside so being stuck inside was very disappointing. The wine in itself was not very good, but the server was at least knowledgeable. Ps, please clean your windows!! They were covered in cobwebs ‍ At the first two locations, we waitEd for the trolley for a good 15/20 minutes. By the third winery, we were not impressed with the experience and decided to call an Uber to head back to where we were staying. All in all, I would not suggest this tour unless your looking for scenic views of the valley or if you have a less refined pallet My suggestions to the tour company: 1. Pick up all individuals in one spot so there is not a prolonged wait time. 2. Invest in a better speaker system on the trolley 3. Reduce time spent at each winery by 20 minutes and add a 4th location.

Yelp
Two friends and I went on the tour today and had an amazing time! Epaul was our driver/guide and we couldn't have asked for anyone better! He made sure we were comfortable, was extremely kind, and was very knowledgeable! The wineries on the tour were a well rounded experience for what Sonoma has to offer. I liked some more than others, but overall each stop was a very enjoyable experience. I highly recommend this as a wonderful option to visit a few wineries and get a pretty good tour of Sonoma. I didn't get to spend a lot of time in the square where the parking lot is, but it looked like it would be fun to walk around and experience too. Part of the trolly is open so be sure to dress in layers. Even if it's a warm day, it could get windy/chilly on the ride.

Bruce B.

Yelp
We had a great time on the Sonoma Wine Trolley. We were able to experience 4 winery's and we were not rushed at all. Our driver,Retired Football Coach, did a great job and provided us a quick intro on growing up in the area. (first name escapes me). when we return, we will try the Napa Wine Trolley! well worth it!
google avatar

Lea C.

Yelp
My husband and I had a blast doing this tour. Leif, our driver was nice, attentive, and funny! Although the speaker wasn't working well, he tried his best to give us much information as he could during the tour. The catered lunch was delicious! It was from the Girl and Fig. There were six of us during the tour and we all enjoyed the four vineyards that we visited. By the end of the tour, we were all quite a happy bunch! Thanks Leif for taking us around Napa!
google avatar

Lauren A.

Yelp
The first two wineries we went to provided no special experience. We sat out on their front lawn at Cohn and could not explore the grounds because there was a wedding going on. The music was just setting up as we were leaving. The 2nd winery sat us in the back away from everything in long tables right next to each other in the baking sun. The gelato was the highlight. Again did not get to explore any of the grounds. The final winery was Mayo where we had the best experience of the day. The lady who was in charge of our group brought us in different rooms, explained much of the wine process and was full of interesting facts. You could tell it was a family ran winery. On the way back they just blasted music so I couldn't even talk to my mom sitting right next to me. The open trolley is super fun with the breeze through your hair. However, we will not be doing it again.

Kylie H.

Yelp
We had the best time on our trolley tour with Paul! He was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and took us to four great and very different wineries in Sonoma. It was the perfect way to experience the area and taste the local wines! The included lunch was also an added bonus. We would absolutely do this again and would recommend to anyone coming to Sonoma. Thanks for the best day!

Yelp
Took the Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley Tour yesterday and had a great time. Out tour guide was excellent. We visited 4 wineries: Imagery, Benzinger, Paradise & Mayo. All were different & fun experiences. Picnic lunch was fun & tasty. Great value for your dollar. We recommend!

Yelp
Living in Sonoma County, this is the sort of thing you do when you have people visiting from elsewhere. My mom was in town, and so I booked this for the two of us. We went to 4 different wineries, none of which I had been to before. The driver was nice, and had some good information about the history of Sonoma, as well as the history of the wineries and wine industry. The nice: The friendly, informative driver, getting to see lots of beauty, the catered lunch by the Girl and the Fig. The meh: The tour was too long for me. It would have been nicer to either have spent less time at each of the 4 wineries, or do one less winery. The tasting fees were a little steep for a couple of the wineries, although a couple of others had a discounted fee for the trolley group, so I guess it evened out. Also, the trolley ride was pretty rough at times. Add one star if you really like tours (I don't.) Probably add a star if you aren't from Sonoma County.

Ashley S.

Yelp
My husband and I really loved this wine tour. It was wonderful visiting four wineries and everyone was so nice!!
google avatar

Stefanie C.

Yelp
I'm gonna start this review off with Paul was awesome. He started our tour off with a short history lesson. He took us to our first winery and it was just ok. The second vineyard took us on a tour and gave us a tasting then Paul served us lunch. As group of girls was late to the show time but Paul was patient. The third wine we had 3 people leave the tour early because of the rowdy, tacky girls that were on the tour. Paul explained to everyone to please be patient. He had contacted the management but they wouldn't let him remove the rowdy people from the trolley. Unfortunately, this one set of girls ruined the majority of the trip for all of us. We had a safe, great ride with plenty of history tidbits and great music. I'd say just have a better plan for rowdy groups and ensure it doesn't hinder other people's time

Yelp
Great experience touring with Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley. It's a wonderful way to see Sonoma & experience the wineries. Highly recommend this over other tour options of cars / suvs

Roni S.

Yelp
I would highly recommend the Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley. Our tour guide Paul was great and everyone was friendly. We toured 4 wineries and made new friends. Since I was traveling alone, it was nice to join in with others. The trolley was a fun way to travel and much better than riding in a van. Great experience!

Shannon E.

Yelp
We went on the Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley to go wine tasting during a recent trip to the Bay Area. The trolley was reasonably priced compared to other similar services and was a great way to safely travel while wine tasting. Our driver was friendly and had good knowledge about the area of Sonoma and we went to some excellent wineries that have really unique experiences. I'd definitely go on the trolley again and would recommend it to others.

Mike B.

Yelp
My wife and I were here from Connecticut to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. This was an amazing experience for us. Each winery was different in a good way. Our tour guide was awesome and informative. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Andrew C.

Yelp
Overall we had a poaotve experience and met fun people from around the U.S. The downside is we found more intriguing wineries exploring Napa and Sonoma on our own. Our driver was accommodating and knowledgeable.

Donna E.

Yelp
You have to take this journey! Our driver, Richard, shared family stories from generations past to shed light on the history of Sonoma. The wineries we visited were all beautiful and diverse which gave us a balanced sampling of what wines the region has to offer. We were never rushed and knew upon arrrival when we would be departing. The catered lunch was delicious and plentiful with an unexpected sweet treat courtesy of the winery....very nice! The group experience makes it even more special. You start out as strangers in the morning and end as friends with lots of memories at the end of the day!

Camocraft Y.

Yelp
Great time doing this with a group. It was really one of the most fun trips I've taken. Low key, easy and very enjoyable. The lunch was as delicious as the wine. Will be back!
google avatar

Tiffany L.

Yelp
A group of my girlfriends did the wine tour for a bachelorette weekend and enjoyed our time. It's a little pricey at $99 and includes a full catered lunch and only one wine tasting at our first stop, Imagery. The tour included four stops and lunch at Benzinger Winery. The lunch was great and catered by the Girl and the Fig. The lunch included several type of gourmet sandwiches, pasta salad, potato salad and several times of desserts. Our guide, Leif was very pleasant and informative. He even stored the wines we bought in a cooler. Since we went towards the end of November, the weather was chilly plus the smoke from the Camp fires made the air quality poor, so we chose to sit inside the trolley with the sliding door closed. So if you're going during cooler weather, be sure to sit inside or bundle up.

Yelp
We had a great time. The winery's were awesome. We met some wonderful people and shared a great bottle on wine with them. I highly recommend the Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly

Charles M.

Yelp
Great tour guide. Went to some really nice, quality wineries. Highly recommend to anyone who hasn't doesn't this before

Anthony J.

Yelp
What a great way to see the winery's. Met wonderful people on the trolley and the vineyards visited were great. I highly recommend. My favorite winery was Mayo. I learned the most about wine making from Rosemary.

Melissa E.

Yelp
Went on the Trolly on 9/16/2022 w/ my brother. Brian the driver/ tour guide was the BEST! I have been on this tour many times as I live in Sonoma. Brian's knowledge and teaching skills were exemplary! We learned so much!. Tour was great! (if you get Brian).
