The ladies there were awesome and so sweet. We almost missed them because their “off season” hours are until 4pm instead of 5pm (I already suggested it be edited to google). I got my wife a Twist bracket, I got a Shackle bracket, and my friend got a Barbell bracket. We love them!

We were spending a day in Christiansted and stopped by a shop recommend to us, Sonya's. My husband purchased a hook ring to match my bracelet for our 50th anniversary. Glenda was so helpful in sizing and shipping details. I received my ring a week later and it's perfect. I highly recommend this jewelry shop.

I love the lore and history behind these bracelets. It is beautifully crafted with sterling silver and I’m so excited to start my collection. One local told me that I have to get a new one every time it come to the island. That will not be a problem! 😉

Purchased a couple of Sonya's famous horseshoe hook bracelets in the early 90's for my girls while helping to rebuild after hurricane Hugo. Almost 35 years later (2/2025) will be returning for a visit and plan on stopping by to purchase another for one of my granddaughters. Superior craftsmanship and design. They bring back memories everytime I see one on my girls wrists.

I came to STX to visit a friend and was enamored by the history of the island. I particularly loved the idea of the hook bracelet. I'd seen people all over the island fashioning this bracelet and knew I had to get it as a souvenir. It was recommended to go to the originator of this well known trinket, and that was Sonya's. We were welcomed and taken care of immediately. I was sized and provided different options. I opted for silver on silver. There are also gold and rose gold options. I can't wait to go back and get the beautiful starfish bracelet on my next trip.

UPDATE TO MY 11-1-22 REVIEW - I was contacted in February 2023 by Nellie from Sonja's Ltd. who said they were reviewing comments in these reviews. She offered to make things right and asked that I send back my larger hibiscus earrings and she would have the smaller size that I originally wanted made. I received my beautiful small hibiscus earrings a few weeks ago and I couldn't be more pleased to have my favorite earrings again. Thank you again to Nellie for making me a happy customer again!

A must go to place for the original and official Island Jewelry from St. Croix. There are a lot of imitation hook bracelets from this island and surrounding islands in the Carribean but this is where Sonya actually opened up her store and where it originated. Whenever you put this bracelet on your wrist, it really symbolizes a shared love for the island of St. Croix, which is a special place which can only be experienced by visiting the small, tiny island. The hook bracelet symbolizes love. If you wear it facing up and towards you, means your taken (in a relationship, married, etc.), if you wear it facing down, this symbolizes you are free =). They have a lot of other bracelts to choose from such as different hurricans who hit the islands, peace, etc. Thanks, Sonya store for the great experience.

I visit St. Croix often and have bought hook bracelets and other items from this store. I decided I would get a hook bracelet for a dear friend for his birthday so I ordered one through their online store on July 9th. I received a call from the store a few days later advising they were planning on sending out my item the following week. Since then I have not heard from them at all. It is now August 9th and the birthday of my friend has passed and I have yet to receive a response from an email I sent a few days ago requesting a refund. I know that they are on "island" time and all, but if you plan on running a website where you accept payment from international sources..you need to deliver products on "world" time. I am returning to the island in a couple months and I really hope I don't have to go to the store in person to get my refund! Finally, I found a company in Colorado that makes the same types of bracelets (like exactly). Just put in hook bracket in an Amazon and you will find the company.

What wonderful customer service! My aunt had visited and gifted me a bracelet when I was a teenager. I had worn it everyday since. After over a decade of daily wear, it began to crack. Sonya LTD replaced my bracelet at no additional cost, and it was shipped in a very timely manner. All I paid for was the shipping. So glad to have my treasured bracelet back on my wrist! The most unprofessional and unfriendly store in St. Croix! Don't waste your time or money, visit a store that is grateful for it's customers. Go to Crucian Gold, especially when looking for jewelry in St. Croix.

I was told to check out this shop from the ladies at Crucian Gold because Sonya is the original maker of the hook bracelet. I went in and the staff is so nice!!! I noticed each jewelry store on the island has some unique pieces. Sonya's in particular has bracelets for the different hurricanes like Irma, Maria, Katrina, Sandy,etc.). The jewelry is handmade. They'll measure your wrist for you as well, so if you're getting a gift you'll have to guess. I bought the silver hook bracelet with the gold piece, so I always have a piece of St. Croix with me. I had a great shopping experience!

We recently had several friends and family to the island for our wedding and wanted them to have an original design from St. Croix to remember their trip by. We took them to Sonya's because nothing says St. Croix like Sonya's original hook bracelet. The sales staff is pleasant and quite helpful (as always). They cleaned my dirty bracelet while my friends shopped for new ones~ talk about customer service! We found exactly what we were looking for and will be back again. Disgusting how many months and Denial. Of bracket bought. Needed repair. No service. It was like dealing in Mexico. These people are Takers. Used to be a cool gift now just another piece of trash. We went into the store because the friend who's place we are staying at for our honeymoon asked us to pick up something she ordered. We go in and give the lady our friend's name. The lady ( I didn't catch her name but she was so sweet) says "congratulations" and I'm slowly figuring out something is up. Our friends had bought us match bracelets as a surprise. We love them. And I recommend this shop.

Tiny little shop but is the "original" shop for the famous st croix hook bracelet. There are a number of other jewelry shops located downtown that offer the bracelet but to me they felt touristy and not the same quality. The bracelet has gained such popularity that after you purchase one you start to notice people where ever you go in this world have the same one. It's like an underground club or a secret handshake since ST Croix is the only spot to get it. Back to the shop~ they offer a variety of hook bracelets and in different finishes along with metal used. The traditional is all sterling silver and ranges in price from $60 up to $200+. If your not interested in the hook they do offer other designs and collections. The hurricane collection is unique in itself and has a number of swirls on it for the design. The shop is tiny, has a large variety and staff is friendly. You can also order online and the company offers a great Warrenty. Happy shopping

Wonderful Customer Service! I received a Sonya LTD Hook Bracelet as a gift. I NEVER took it off and after having it for many years It broke in two. I contacted SONYA LTD and they told me to send it back. They received my bracelet, assessed it and advised me that it broke because of exposure to chlorine. I was shocked because when it broke, I was in fact at an indoor water park (for a week). The communication was prompted and efficient from day one. They shipped me my new bracelet along with care instructions. I am so thankful for the Staff at Sonya's for making my day! VI All Day!

The Hook bracelet is like a rite-of-passage when you move to St Croix. My husband has wanted one since day one. We've stopped at Sonya's several times since they are the originators of the Hook... and they are a highly recommended store. Over the past month or so the girls behind the counter got to recognize me, so when we came in to finally make our purchase, they knew exactly what we were looking for and made the transaction super easy. They also gave a "local's discount".

They know their stuff, nice, but you pay for what you get and the name. You can trade up pieces, so that's a plus.

This is the 'original' hook bracelet store in St.Croix. They have various designs for every taste and budget. However, the sales people seemed a little annoyed (as if they were bored with the merchandise) and the prices for gold and silver were a bit steep in comparison to other stores in the area. I suppose that is what you get for an 'original' hook bracelet. My friend purchased one from this location but went ahead and got a couple from another store with better prices and service. If having a "Sonya" bracelet is important to you, then by all means! I saved about $80 on my two comparable bracelets (that also have a lovely design) by going to another vendor. There were some beautiful designs at Sonya's, I just didn't feel they were worth the price.

There is some really beautiful jewelry at Sonya's. Came here in 1999 and 2000 and bought several lovely bracelets. Returning to St. Croix this week I made it a prerogative to return and replace my bracelet which sadly no longer fit. I mentioned how remiss I was that the old one didn't fit and they informed me about their upgrade/replacement policy for St. Croix hooks. I was psyched to learn that for $10 I could give them my old bracelet and get a new one that fit! Not only that, but I had the option to upgrade to a thicker bracelet or different metal and pay only the price difference and the ten bucks. They definitely have earned a customer for life! I love their designs and that they make the original St. Croix hook. The imitations really do not compare in my opinion. I saw several and was not impressed. Yelpers from several years ago found Sonya's to be more expensive - but years later it's the other shops who are comparatively more expensive. The 3mm silver hook is only $60 and many of the bracelets on STX are over a hundred. I've already requested that my hubby order a bracelet from them for my next bday! The staff was very friendly and helpful.
