The chicken is hot, crispy, and a little dry. The sauces are sweet, sour, tangy, spicy....pretty much anything you want. Solid choice, but for some reason the last couple times we've been to this location, something has been off with the food. It's not nearly as plump and juicy as the location closer to Wake Forest area. Definitely try that one before judging the whole Soo Cafe experience! Oh and they have a little tiny market at the front too and play a variety of Kpop on the tvs, which is nice.

I went to Soo Cafe and was completely unaware they've made changes (ok, it's been a while). They've updated the seating to a more lounge feel. I was told today (6/23/2025) was their first day with the setup. Ok! Why not? They also have a little shop up front selling snacks and drinks. I highly recommend the honey pear hot tea that was advertised at the register (looking to buy more of it now). I had it with my meal. The fried chicken was on point as always. No need to waste your time at the chain place on the other side of Capital. Soga chicken tenders for me. Also had seaweed salad and roasted broccoli, both really good. My food pics do them a disservice but I thought it'd be worth updating the interior pics.

We came for dinner and ordered from the menu based on the server's recommendations. We ordered both boneless and bone-in fried chicken with different sauces. The food arrived quickly, as there were only two occupied tables in the restaurant at the time. The fried chicken was different from American fried chicken. It was crispy and tender, not dry. The sauce was unique, a blend of spicy, sour, and sweet flavors. We ordered the Large portion. If you want to try fried chicken that's different from the usual, this restaurant could be a great choice.

Google
Found this spot online as I was looking for good Korean fried chicken. I have to admit when I pulled up to the spot, I was apprehensive. The restaurant is located in a dying strip mall and the outside is very unassuming. BUT! The food was amazing. I ordered fried dumplings, spicy beef bulgogi, and fried chicken wings: 5 with SOGA and 5 with Sweet Chili sauce. Every single thing was perfect! The crisp on the chicken was light and crunchy even after being sauced! The Bulgogi was some of the best I’ve ever had, and the spice level was perfect! To top it off our server was amazing! He was fast, attentive and extremely kind and friendly in spite of being the only server there and handling the lunch rush by himself! Soo Cafe is definitely a hidden gem! I recommend to anyone who loves Korean food! I will be back, again and again!

Was recommended to try this restaurant out and that was a great decision. Enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Hope to return and try much more on the menu

Lovely Korean Restaurant. We have been watching a lot of Korean Tv series lately and wanted to give it a try. Nice ambiance and they also have a Karoake Party going on another side. We have ordered two Chulpan Bibimbabs with Vegetables and a side of Stir fried broccoli. Also Bottle of Korean Cherry wine which was nice too. Overall the service and food were awesome. We will be returning here again.

Great food and not a bad spot. We were only people in on a Wednesday night. The place is set up for karaoke also

Google
Hands-down, the best Korean fried chicken I have ever had! I usually get takeout and the staff has always been amazing! This particular trip I got the chicken tenders with two different sauces, both on the side. Their signature soga sauce and then the sweet chili. Eventually, I will try other dishes but i can only eat so much and it would be criminal to not get the fried chicken!

Eric H.

Yelp
Great food and service! Xalen was a great host who was very attentive. Kpop playing keep the atmosphere lively. I'd imagine karaoke and live music nights are really fun here. Will eat here again next time I'm in town.

Yelp
Fried chicken was so good with yummy sauces! Small portion of edamame for the price. A little dark in the dining room but the little grocer at the front is nice!

Yelp
Came in here for lunch with a group of coworkers the menu is very difficult to comprehend one of my co-workers ordered six chicken wings and a sweet tea and it came to $21 now I understand we're all dealing with inflation but this was just way too much money and when my coworker went to discuss it with the cashier he said oh I'm so sorry I forgot to tell you there was an up charge for the types of wings that you ordered but even still whatever the charge would have been $21 for six chicken wings it's just ridiculous

Yelp
I was waiting outside for someone and saw this place. I called in to place a small order. The man who answered was sooo nice and cheerful. When I walked in it was very clean inside and I was greeted by the same nice, cheerful man who took my order. The food was fresh and hot and DELICIOUS!!! I was so happy I stopped by. Will definitely be back and definitely recommend!!

Yelp
Went with a group of 15 for lunch. They were expecting us and were able to take our orders, serve us, and let us pay in one hour. Amazing for such a large group. The chicken tenders were delicious. Great crunch and a tad spicy. Kimchi was quite good. This is not a fancy place, but it was clean and the food was hot and tasty. I need to try something else to determine if this should be 5 stars, not 4, and plan to be back soon.

Yelp
Chicken batter is crispyyy. Their batter exterior is different than most places. It's more like a shell than a batter.. it's very light, but crisp.. it stays crispy until the next day. The hot and spicy has heat, and the Soo special is a ginger/five spice sort of flavor which I'm not used to in Korean food, although good, and not overpowering. Their bibimbap is good as well, but they do not have ban chan, fyi.
google avatar

Madeline L.

Yelp
I mostly came here to try the Korean fried chicken wings and I wasn't disappointed! The flavor of the sauce was unique and unlike anything I've ever had before. They were crispy too! The bulgogi was just okay - edible, but not great. And also came in a very small portion in my opinion. I'd still come here again to try some other menu items, specifically some kimchi since I didn't try any this time! Otherwise, the service was good and the inside was nice! It was pretty empty on a weekday for dinner. I hope more people can start coming

Yelp
This place compares favorably to any Korean fried chicken place in the Seattle area. Bomb ass chicken. Get the double sauced version. It's the bes

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants in the triangle! As a vegetarian, I always get the vegetarian hot bibimbap. My friends will always get one of their wings with varying sauces. Overall, the bibimbap I get does not look like anything special, but for some reason always tastes better than any other place I've had it. Only downside is that the dish and wings have definitely gotten smaller likely due to "shrinkflation" but I would say it is still worth it. The location is a strip mall in Raleigh. Looks empty from the outside but very spacious on the inside. Usually not too busy and the one person running it is always very friendly and helpful. If it is busy you may have to wait but I would say it is worth it. Prices are average and not too expensive. Overall, one of my favorites over the years and glad to see it is still open! Would recommend.

Yelp
So this place was recommended by my friend. She's been coming here a long time! And she raved about the chicken. We got there when they opened around 11am. Service was great, but the place also wasn't very busy. They did have a lot of pick up orders. I also saw that they had karaoke rooms! Back in college we had places like this! So glad to know of somewhere in Raleigh! I got the chicken tenders but I got my sauce on the side because I wanted to share with my son. It was crunchy and juicy! The house sauce (soy garlic) was good but I think I'd prefer to get a spicy sauce next time. I also got the Samgyeopsal. It had onions and garlic with it. It comes with your sesame oil and salt and pepper, the bean curd sauce, and a a sweet/vinegar dipping sauce. I had to ask for gochujung. The pork belly was sliced nice and thin. They only gave me 3-4 Romain lettuce leaves. It wasn't enough to wrap all my meat, so I ate the remaining meat with the rice I still had. I had a great experience and I would definitely come again.

Francesca D.

Yelp
They didn't even let us sit down before they started asking us to order our drinks, as we were walking to our tables. Poor service. Their menu items are overpriced for the portions. I got a small side of seaweed salad and it was $7. Although I will say their wings were very tasty, nice and crisp and flavorful.

Yelp
We looked up this place when we were going to another restaurant that didn't open On Monday's. Menu is limited here but decent overall. Shortage of worker like everywhere you had to wait - there is just one waitress and she does check out as well. Bimbimbap was not as authentic- it came out on a cast iron skillet rather than the stone pot. Decent selection of veggies in the pot though. Most people are here for the wings. And yes the wings are good. Very flavorful and finger licking good. The way it was cooked locked in the juices so it is crispy outside and juicy in. Would definitely recommend the soga sauce. Mimicking the Bon Bon chicken flavor a bit.

Brittany L.

Yelp
Prices are high for portions you get. The seafood pancake was almost $8 for a small size comparable to an eggo waffle. It tasted fresh though which was nice. The bibimbap was around $20 with spicy pork and a fried egg. I had requested a runny egg because that's superb with this dish but I think there was a language barrier between the server and I. The large Dokdo with two sauces will run you back $30 but was decent, you can find better KFC elsewhere in the triangle

Ed B.

Yelp
The soy garlic wings were large and delicious. I haven't tried any of the other dishes.

Yelp
I wasn't the biggest fan of soga sauce or wings but a special person bragged about the soga sauce and chicken here so much that I finally gave it a try and he did not fail me one bit. Even the doorway inside shows you articles about how they were rated one of the best fried chicken spots. It's no joke. I promise you that you'll be hooked off of one try eating here. I'm not even a chicken wings type of person, so I can't even imagine how much more obsessed I'd be if I was. The soga fried chicken here is divine. I don't know a better way to describe it. The chicken is so crunchy, juicy, and tender and the meat tastes veryyyyyy fresh and clean. I started with the tenders, loved it, then came back to try the wings and fell even more in love. He got the fried shrimp in the same sauce which was great too if you're pescatarian! The sauce is AMAZING. You can't try a sauce other than the soga. It's indescribably good and adding the rice into my wings tray and eating it with the sauce was too good. This is easily my favorite chicken wings spot ever and nothing comes close. They even make holes in the takeout box they put the food in to ensure your chicken doesn't get soggy which I thought was thoughtful and unique.

Yelp
THE BEST Chicken Wings I've ever had. Hands down! Also David is very friendly and I think at this point he's memorized just about everything we want to eat. If you can find better in Raleigh I want to know about it.
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Dark restaurant even in daytime. Hostess took us to our table and didn't come back for 10 minutes or so. She wasn't friendly. Constant teeny bopper bands on giant screens nonstop. Tiresome after 15 minutes. Food okay but so SO expensive for little bitty portions.
google avatar

Zuleyma G.

Yelp
The wings with the original/Soga sauce and the short ribs order were both AMAZINGLY delicious! The food is a little pricey, but for us it was worth every single penny. We'll definitely be back. Service was also great.

Yelp
I cannot believe I didn't try this place sooner! I've driven past it so many times and today, I decided to stop in and I am so glad I did! There were three of us who dined so we were able to try several dishes and we did not hold back. The atmosphere was a warm, dimly lit place with casual vibes. First we tried the peach and apple Soju. They're both good, but Peach was definitely a hit. We started with pork dumplings, gyoza and edamame. Bon apetite! Now onto the main event. The fried chicken with the traditional sauce was friend to perfection! The beef bulgogi was super flavorful and tender. The server informed us that the Kimchi was his Dad's special recipe and it was YUMMY! Btw, he was the only server during this time and was doing a phenomenal job and maintaining efficiency. Back to the food, the Bibimap was a first time for me and O-M-G I have a new love....we all shared everything but I barely wanted after tasting that dish lol And finally, they have Karaoke! I can't wait to return to do that. I'm really glad I stumbled upon this restaurant. I'll be back soon ready to put a mic in my hand

Yelp
10 pc chicken wings with soga ( soy sauce , garlic , bit spicy) and old fashioned ( sweet &sour and spicy) sauces. Sooo freaking good. That flavor is incredible. Nice and crispy and tender. Definitely a must have. Yum . Service was excellent. Great atmosphere. Korean karaoke too!

Yelp
Good food, good service and great price! I ordered food Togo and wanted to go back for a second order. Ambiance & the menu were ok but needed improvement or updating.

Yelp
I've been eyeing this place on Yelp for a while and was finally on the side of town it was on. So I decided to get a to go lunch from there. I ordered the chicken tenders and the dumplings and both were good. The tenders I ordered came with the Soy Garlic sauce which was an interesting sauce. It was on the sweet side but you could also taste the soy sauce. The chicken was crispy and not soggy despite being adequately sauced which can happen sometimes. The dumplings were fried dumplings and they tasted like your average dumpling. The service was quick and fast for my Togo order. The inside of the restaurant seems nice despite the fact that I only ordered Togo. Overall it was a good experience and if I'm in the mood for some Korean fried chicken I will definitely be back. They do have lots of other options as well of Asian dishes to try!

Yelp
Ordered takeout. The restaurant had no website (that I could find). So I drove to the restaurant just to find out there is a 20min wait for all wing orders. I ordered 6 wings with supreme sauce & a small spicy beef bulgogi. Came to $26. Everything was just OK. The wings were crispy, however the sauce lacked flavor. Luckily I had some Japanese bbq sauce at home to help. The bulgogi also lacked flavor & I had to use the bbq sauce. The sad lettuce pieces in the plate they could have kept. The restaurant was empty. Perhaps 3pm on a Saturday is their down time. But my guess is, eating in at the restaurant will give you a better experience. Bc this takeout was not it PS they did not have any menus to take home. When I asked for a menu, he said "we do not have any, but you can take a picture of this one" & handed me one of their eat in menus. That along with not having a website to view the menu online..... I just prefer to eat elsewhere

Yelp
I had korean fried chicken wings. The chicken was very fresh and fried to perfection. I got the generic soy sauce and another spicy sauce on the side and dipped my chicken in the sauces since it was my first time trying the chicken, first time eating here. Food was amazing and the service was great. The staff were very very very nice. They let me know it would be a wait time bc the place was pretty busy. I got my food to go but would definitely come back to dine in.

Yelp
I have been here at least 5 times which is why I'm giving 2 and not a 1. I ordered Korean Fried Chicken Wings Soga. I picked it up and I drove 20 mins home. Unfortunately I had white rice and tenders. Those tenders were dry as HELL. I assumed they didn't have wings and just gave me chicken tenders. I called and told told them I was unhappy and wanted to return these tenders which wasn't what I ordered for my money back. They said sure, they would refund me once I returned them the food. I get back there and find out they just gave me the wrong order. I'm extremely disappointed. Because 1) they gave me the wrong order and the 2) because they didn't let me know they could actually fix it since they had real wings.

Yelp
Best Korean fried chicken and all of the triangle. My wife is Korean and from LA and she said "this is just like k-town in LA." Just order the fried chicken baby, you'll do yourself a big favor and grab some Soju.

Yelp

Yelp
Great food and atmosphere. Low key solid spot to eat. Spicy bulgogi was awesome and ended up going twice

Yelp
The food is amazing! This is our second time going here and both times the food met our expectations. The service staff are friendly and very helpful in answering our questions.

Yelp
Soga sauce chicken wings definitely lived up to the hype. If you like Korean style fried chicken, this place is a must.

Yelp
First time coming here and they made a great 1st impression. Our server was wonderful and patient. He answered all of our questions and made recommendations, he is a 5 star!! Started: vegetable tempura Guest1: large spicy chicken bulgogi with stir fry broccoli Guest 2: small bento style spicy pork bulgogi Me : large spicy beef bulgogi All: 10 pieces of chicken wing in soja I loved LOVED mine! And my guest liked theirs but they kept picking on mine lol. KFC was crispy and really good. Of course we will be back again. The large comes with 3 little sides of kimchi, and 2 salads plus a bowl of rice. The bento... to be honest I don't remember but it's a good size if you're not that hungry. They had funFUN K POP playing! Also!!! Very clean!

Womp D.

Yelp
So good. I'd skip the bibimbap. The various cuts of fried chicken???? So good. Service is so good - the servers are sweet. I can't get enough of the chicken.

Yelp
BLUF: (Takeout review) Crunchy skin even after a 25 minute drive home and generously sauced. Major gripe, don't advertise your spiciest sauce as ten (10), or some large number, making me think it'll make my mouth numb/tingling for days. Only to leave me supremely disappointed!! I got their Old Fashioned and Hot & Spicy, they both taste the same. Next time I'll get Soo's chicken unsauced and get a bottle of actual HOT sauce (BWW's Blazin' perhaps). Because their wings and dark meat pieces were super! Definitely need to dine in one day.
google avatar

Camille F.

Yelp
Coming from an area where there were a lot of KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) options, I was on the search for my go to down here. This place has been a go to for my coworkers. They may not know Korean food but they sure do know good food! They have different sauce options and combinations to put on whatever way you prefer to eat your chicken (wings, tenders, drumstick) or shrimp. I've been working my way through all the sauce options to see which one is my favorite, but I also like to spice things up with whatever I'm feeling. They have sweet/sour/spicy, sweet/spicy, plain, etc. They also have a non-chicken wing option. I've had their samgyubsal and bibimbap options on different visits, and they hit the spot! I love leaving the rice on the cast iron pan to get crunchy when I get bibimbap (careful, the pan is hot when it first comes out!). They have enough options for those who don't really know much or at all about Korean cuisine, and they have enjoyed the food.

Brooke C.

Yelp
This place was great! Seemed authentic and had k-pop music videos playing at the karaoke stage. There wasn't many people there so the wait time was good. I also ended up getting the chicken tenders in the garlic soy sauce flavor was that was the best kbbq ever! Definitely deserves more business than what I noticed!
google avatar

Don I.

Yelp
I'm not an expert on Korean but I do know a little about fried chicken and have a masters degree in chicken wings... I had to stop at post office and saw this location so had to check The reviews which pointed to the chicken I ordered a takeout of the 1/2 chicken fried with the traditional sauce Phenomenal But I would swing and miss if I didn't mention the young lady answering the phone. She helped me navigate the first timer menu choices and was super nice and a big fan of the food herself. Nice! I'll be back probably before the week is over
google avatar

Cindy N.

Yelp
This spot is located in a little sketchy area, but don't ever judge hole in the wall places when you're a foodie right? I love their garlic soy chicken over the original wings. Their food and packaging are nicely done, especially during COVID, but I sadly had to wait almost 8 minutes for someone to assist me in my pickup order. I wish they could be located in a better foot traffic area with more staff members to provide better service, but what can we expect during the pandemic nowadays...
google avatar

Jai J.

Yelp
If you're looking for some great Korean fried chicken and bbq then look no further. The restaurant is in an unassuming location wrapped up in a strip mall. The waitstaff was limited as it seemed as if one person was handling the lion's share of all patrons within the place but it didn't affect food times. The food is great but the ambiance is lackluster. Get food to go and enjoy authentic dishes.
google avatar

Mia B.

Yelp
Stop here on a whim; I was craving Korean fried chicken. The place was empty, but food was good and service was quick. I enjoyed and wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Lee L.

Yelp
Best Korean fried chicken place in Raleigh. The other menu items are a bit pricey, but if you go solely for the chicken and maybe a side of rice it's great. I recommend the sweet chili and old fashioned

Yelp
Best wings ever!! Call ahead and pick up. You won't regret it. Get more than you think you will eat. There will be none left

Yelp
March 2021 Okay babes, let's get this straight. Soo Cafe, a Korean restaurant that specializes in Korean Fried Chicken located in Raleigh, NC, hands down has the best fried chicken. I always always get the SoGa flavor (Soy Garlic). The breading is crispy and the meat is hella juicy ... lots of work has been in to make a masterpiece like this. Sadly, I don't live in Raleigh so I had learn how to make it myself! It's close though, but not the same. Still though, you should try it for yourself. They're not the cheapest wings... but in my opinion, they're worth every penny (sorry Bon Chon, for some KFC, you is cheap but you pale in comparison). Go to Bon Chon if you want to experience a more crispy breading but substantially less meat because their wings are malnourished asf. Oh - it's kinda cozy inside. The lighting in here is bad though, makes it impossible to get some good pictures. They also have a nice like 65in + TV that plays Korean/KPop music videos 23/7. Also, note - the chicken is made fresh to order so do expect at least a 15-25 minute wait. Sometimes it could be a little longer, but still worth it nonetheless.

Ron B.

Yelp
I got a takeout order of 6 wings with sauce on the side and an order of pork bibimbap. The food was fine but nothing remarkable. In my opinion it was overpriced. Even though I didn't get served at a table, I give a tip for takeout because the staff still has to get my order right and pack everything up for the trip home. The bill with tax and tip was right at $40. To some this may be very reasonable and I admit I have perpetual sticker shock at food prices these days.
google avatar

Onyx M.

Yelp
The best wings ever...went back twice in one week ..will Be going back again. I love their wings and it is sooo crunchy

Tom P.

Yelp
U have to try the fried chicken in any form- wings, tenders or regular pieces. Also had the Bibimbop with ground beef. Very good
google avatar

Elliot C.

Yelp
I feel like I am losing my mind when I read the reviews for this place. The food is okay and the inside is nice, but the pricing is insane! It says about $10 for a lunch but I went there and got the small beef bulgogi (pictured below) and it was over $23. I double checked with them even though the online menu says $9.99 they charge that much. Insane, once and done for me.

Kim E.

Yelp
The fried chicken and sauces have never disappointed. I've had the food at the restaurant and catered at events and it's been perfectly prepared and delicious.
