9 Best Spas in Bali | Condé Nast Traveler

"Soori Bali is a beautifully designed resort with bold, clean lines; landscaped gardens; lush, green paddy fields; and a seemingly private black-sand beach. It's no surprise, then, to discover that Soo K. Chan, the owner of the hotel, is also an architect. The main thrust of tourism has yet to upstage rural life here—further west along the island’s southern coastline—but the area is developing fast. The spa offers the change to enjoy Kerambitan's landscape while it's still relatively untouched." - Juliet Kinsman

Soori Bali (Tabanan, Bali) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The Bali resort idiom may seem a bit crowded, but it’s hard to argue with its central tenets: the ethos and soul of the mythic East blended with the architectural elegance of modern Asia. Such is the case with Soori Bali, a panoramic beachy gem on the island’s west-central coast, offering another option to guests who prefer crisp contemporary design to traditional island kitsch." - Tablet Hotels

Architect Soo K Chan explains his holistic approach to design - SilverKris

"A luxury resort and spa due to launch this March, designed to integrate closely with local environmental and cultural systems: villas, residences and common areas were sited around existing rice-field irrigation paths and ceremonial routes, several new temples were built in line with local beliefs, and the overall scheme aims to let daily village life continue in harmony while expressing local materials, craftsmanship and the spiritual essence of the place." - Rachel Eva Lim

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at Soori in September 2024. It was a perfect place to start our Indonesia holiday! From the airport transfer experience to the time we checked out, the service was exceptional. The staff always greeted us by name and seemed eager to please.||Our villa was spacious, comfortable and a great place to relax to the sights and sounds of the ocean. ||The ‘tasting breakfast’ concept was a real treat, and we enjoyed the meals we had at Cotta also. ||During our short stay, two small weddings took place and there didn’t seem to be many non-wedding guests around so the resort was generally pretty quiet. This suited us just fine although it did mean there wasn’t much atmosphere in the restaurant/bar in the evenings, however we did benefit from the wedding fireworks displays! ||The little gym and the spa were both lovely. Other activities included making a visit to Tanah Lot temple one morning; someone from the hotel drove us there and walked us round the complex, which was a great experience. ||We would happily return some day.

Soori is a place far from the maddening crowd of seminyak/kuta, and miles away from the experiences there (literally and figuratively). Yes, it takes around 2 hours each way if you really want to be in town, but I would assume you did your research when you pick a site like this. What you will get is the most expansive estate that manages to blend intimate settings with the vastness of sheer space and majestic architecture. The site feels like a monochrome brought to life with a pounding surf as its background soundtrack. Great place to get away from it all.

I stayed at Soori for my friend’s wedding. The hotel is very nice and the service is even better. My butler is Zam, he helped me book the Bali massage and morning Yoga, as well as the food order. At the end of the trip, I forgot a few personal stuff at the room and Zam helped me with the logistics sending back to me. So the wedding is the best, hotel is nice and people are the best.

Just checked out of the most beautiful stay at Soori Bali. This is a truly special piece of earth, with stunningly designed villas and public spaces—but what makes it unforgettable is its people and soul.||Bali has no shortage of beautiful hotels, but if you’re looking for an out-of-this-world experience (think volcanic cliffs and a dramatic black sand beach), nothing compares to Soori. From the moment you check in, you feel like you’ve stepped into heaven—welcomed with a delicious drink and a warm smile.||The food is exceptional. We enjoyed dinner at Cotta, the Indonesian restaurant, and at Keiyo, the newly opened Japanese teppanyaki counter—both were outstanding. I also loved their sharing-plates breakfast concept, which lets you taste a variety of dishes without the guilt of over-ordering.||Congratulations to Mr. Chan for conceptualizing such a beautiful resort. I can’t wait to see what he creates next in Penang and Niseko, and for assembling such a wonderful team. Special thanks to Dian for helping us plan our stay, to Haryono (Front Desk Manager) and Hangki (Resort Manager) for ensuring everything was perfect, and to our butlers Zarafa and Benny for looking after us so well.||Already counting the days until I’m back.

We had an absolutely amazing time at Soori Bali! We stayed for three nights, and they were truly some of the best we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, the entire staff was warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. We arrived a few days after my mom’s birthday and they still welcomed us with a delicious birthday cake and a flower vase. A special thank you to Komang, our incredible butler, who went above and beyond to ensure we were always comfortable and happy. The villa was stunning, the sunsets were breathtaking, and the food—delicious! We also really enjoyed the activities offered, and the Balinese massage at the spa was incredibly relaxing. And we can’t forget to mention the delicious chocolate cookies at reception—such a fun and tasty touch! 😄 Thank you, Soori Bali, for welcoming us in such a special way. We would absolutely love to return soon!

It was a fantastic resort with really huge villas each equipped with a private pool and extremely spacious bathroom. I am particularly impressed by the services of Komang, the assistant of my stay. He offered such excellent services and is super friendly. It’s also most impressive that he immediately got first aid kit to help my friend when my friend got a bit hurt while walking back. Absolutely pleasing experience.

This place was unlike any other place I've ever stayed at. The service was impeccable no matter where we went throughout the resort. Our butler Komang was amazing! He remembered our names and made sure we always had everything we needed. He definitely made the experience a 10/10 for me. Highly recommend staying here!

We had a great stay at Soori Bali. The resort feels very private, with low occupancy during our visit. While that might not appeal to everyone, we enjoyed the calm, quiet atmosphere.|The ocean has huge waves, so the staff doesn’t recommend swimming in it. However, the black sand beach is perfect for walks, and the resort’s big swimming pool made a great alternative for relaxing and cooling off.|One of the highlights was the staff — consistently kind, professional, and always ready to help. The concierge service was especially helpful, arranging transport for sightseeing and offering useful advice on local spots and experiences.|We were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade from a Beach Pool Villa to an Ocean View Villa, which made our stay even better. The villa was clean, spacious, well-maintained, and had an amazing view.|Food was great. For breakfast, instead of a standard buffet, they offer a daily-changing à la carte breakfast menu that repeats every three days. You can order as much as you like from the day’s selection, with dishes served in tasting sizes.|One thing worth mentioning: a few times we noticed a smell from trash burning in the distance, which is not uncommon in some parts of Bali. It wasn’t a major issue, but something to be aware of.|Overall, Soori Bali delivered a great mix of natural beauty, privacy, and thoughtful service. It’s a great place if you’re after a quiet, relaxing getaway away from Bali’s busier areas. We’d happily return.
