Soos was overall a great dining experience and something refreshingly new. The food was exquisite—rich, flavorful, and beautifully prepared, though the portion sizes were on the smaller side. Our server, was wonderful and very attentive throughout the meal. We tried the Piña Colada, Negroni, and Lucano Spritz, and all were excellent. The food also came out surprisingly fast, which we appreciated. The only reason I’m giving this place 4 out of 5 stars is because the experience felt rushed. We were told before being seated that another party was coming at 7 pm, which was understandable. However, there’s usually a bit of buffer time, and a 10–15 minute leeway is generally expected. Instead, our menus were taken away at 6:30, and staff began clearing our table before we had finished eating. This was disappointing and took away from an otherwise great meal. The ambience was very cool—unique wallpaper, nice lighting, and clean restrooms. I fully understand that restaurants need to keep tables moving and accommodate upcoming reservations, but personally, I wouldn’t jeopardize the experience of guests who are already dining for the sake of a party that may or may not show up.

Me and my group of friends tried the “Feed Me” menue, sort of like the tasting menue. Here’s what I noticed off the bat. 1. The portion sizes were almost the same irrespective of if you were 2 people or four. So even though our table of 3 thought it was enough food, the table of 5 beside us was left hungry because the portion sizes for both our tables were SAME. 2. The food was too salty. We had to send a dish back and ask for the rest of the things to be less salty. So if you go, ask for less salt 3. They were accommodating to food allergies and requests. 4. The service was polite and friendly So was it worth it? In my opinion…no. They had a few things I would go back for like the scallops and the mushroom bao but over all the entire experience for $280 for 3 people was not worth it. Further, I paid over $40 for gratuity alone which was the lowest option for tipping.

We came here for a birthday dinner after the restaurant was so highly recommended to us by friends. We had a table booked on the cute patio out front, but sadly it started to rain just as we sat down! Our server quickly invited us inside and within 5 minutes we had a spot at the bar. While a table option did open up for us later, the bar was comfortable and it was fun watching the bartender work. I love the decoration inside, it was very fun with very cool lighting and a fun atmosphere. I will say it is very loud in the restaurant, so if you’re looking to have good conversation, it might be difficult. The food. THE FOOD. Omg have the cauliflower broccoli appetiser, you’ll thank me later. My partner said the Rendang curry was the best he’d ever had and the mango tofu curry was a solid yum. We can’t recommend the tequila cocktail enough (Smokey jumper?). So good! We can’t wait to come back.

Tried the scallop crudo, slaw, char kway teo, curry. All were exceptional. Would highly recommend the slaw. The dishes tasted authentic. Also tried the pandan sago sago which was delicious. We will be back!

My favourite restaurant of the year. Everything was incredible and we got to try most of the menu with the tasting menu. The scallops, Kari puff and Cod were especially great. Service was excellent and the food came out quickly. Really great value, I would’ve been happy even if it was 2x the price. Definitely will be back.

Absolutely amazing!! I visited Toronto for a quick weekend trip and several friends who lived there told me I *had* to give Soos a try! Their Feed Me menu, a chef-curated set menu with nine outstanding courses, is the best way to get a feel for the full breadth of their menu. The traditional Feed Me menu is quite meat-heavy, but you can also adjust it to be pescatarian or vegetarian, and they'll even be flexible and allow differences across the table to accommodate multiple eating preferences. We decided to all do the pescatarian version, and we were thoroughly impressed by every single dish that came out. I assume the menu rotates seasonally, but we were treated to: - Hokkaido scallop crudo -- this was so beautiful and so delicious that I forgot to snap a picture before we dug in. The scallops were super fresh and tender, and they had such a wonderful light, refreshing, and slightly herby flavor from the cilantro, ginger, and scallion. The chili oil and garlic chip gave it a bit of crunch, heat, and an extra umami punch. - Dal and paratha -- the paratha was perfectly light, crispy, and flaky, with a nice buttery interior and gorgeously charred outer shell. It was the perfect vessel for the deeply flavorful, very slightly spicy, and oh-so-comforting dal. - Steamed rice cakes with salted radish, sambal chili -- so so very good, with delightfully soft and tender rice cakes that offered a perfect contrast against the ultra-flavorful and crunchy radish. The radish was salty, sour, spicy, and deeply umami, and was just the perfect way to open up our palates. - Fried mushroom bao -- literally amazing. The mushrooms were fried to golden perfection and coated with the most flavorful sauce I've ever had. It was all topped with a bit of pickled daikon, carrot, and cabbage, which helped to lighten up the bun and add a pop of freshness to an otherwise quite indulgent-feeling dish. - Prosperity salad -- it sounds a little silly to say that a salad was one of my favorite things, but WOW this salad was amazing. The salad features a whopping 20 ingredients (many of which I assume are in the delicious yuzu plum dressing), and it hits you with so many flavors and textures at once. It's crunchy, refreshing, nutty, fruity, earthy, and so much more -- I could literally eat this for days on end. - Kari puff -- I literally dream of this puff. The fried pastry shell is so remarkably buttery and flaky, and it's nice and crispy from the deep fry. It houses some of the most flavorful chickpeas I've ever had, bulked up with some potatoes and onions, and paired with a lovely creamy, garlicky sauce. One of the friends joining us usually hates chickpeas, but she absolutely loved this one. - Cod in opor -- super tender, delicious cod bathed in a remarkably flavorful curry! The cod was super impressive, but I do wish there was a tiny bit more of it, especially since the curry is delicious but a little too salty to have on its own. - Mapo tofu noodles -- incredibly flavorful, with a generous helping of mapo tofu and tons of sesame to add a strong nutty flavor and bit of crunch. This was definitely the spiciest part of the meal, but it was remarkable. - Char kway teow -- you really can't go wrong with a good stir-fried rice noodle dish! The noodles were perfectly cooked, with a slight snap and great flavor from the wok char. The sambal offered a great hit of heat and umami, and the tiger prawns were perfectly seared to preserve a slightly snappy texture and their naturally sweet flavor paired with the mild outer char. The tl;dr of it all is that Soos is sure to offer an amazing dining experience -- the Feed Me menu is, of course, the best way to sample everything the restaurant has to offer, but you can't go wrong with any individual dish.

We just had an amazing dinner at Soos! The char kway teow and cod in opor curry were super delicious! Also outstanding was the vegan oyster mushroom bao and prosperity slaw. Server Ari (Aria) was attentive, personable, professional and kind. She and her team made for a memorable dinner experience. The restaurant's ambiance is warm and welcoming. Would definitely return. Highly, highly recommended!!
