A Perfect Weekend Away in Dublin | Vogue

"A rooftop bar and restaurant offering one of the only 360-degree views of the city, it pours a Cuban Espresso Martini that captures Dublin’s cross-pollination of old and new with Havana 7 rum, PX sherry, cold brew coffee, and a splash of Guinness." - Todd Plummer

Went there for the roof top view however the Irish weather was not on our side. However, great place. The food and drinks were great, had the buffalo chicken burger. Great taste, just the right amount of kick to it. The added green were nice for good conscience.

Came to Sophie’s on a whim, around 2200 with a reservation. Delighted we came here as most kitchens were closed at this time. The ambiance was modern and chic. Situated on the top floor overlooking part of the city on hotel grounds. Such a nice, distinctive way to spend one of the last nights in Dublin. Food was extremely good and service was attentive and friendly. Menu was varied enough for 3 different palates. I had the grilled sea bass which I really enjoyed, the seafood linguine was also very good. Did not disappoint!

Google
Made a reservation to host my sister-in-law's bridal shower brunch here and it was amazing! The cocktails were creative, fresh, and divine. The food was fabulous. All ages attending had food/drinks they enjoyed and the bride-to-be had an amazing time. Service was awesome & the views were stunning. Definitely recommend Sophie's for special occasions or date night!

This is a cool restaurant and bar! We were able to get a table of 5 without reservations. The food was all very good some of the best we had in Dublin. Service was good but not quite to the standard of the food and atmosphere.

Sophie’s Rooftop Bar – A Top-Class Experience Had an excellent evening at Sophie’s Rooftop Bar. We kicked things off with the duck croquettes and the gnocchi starter – both were outstanding. The croquettes were crispy, flavourful, and paired with a delicious dipping sauce, while the gnocchi was absolutely immense – bursting with flavour and perfectly cooked. Portions were just right for starters. The ribeye for mains was nothing short of spectacular. Cooked to perfection, beautifully seasoned, and served just the way a good steak should be. Every bite was a treat. The ambiance on the rooftop was cool and relaxed, with great views and a laid-back, stylish vibe. Perfect for an evening out. Special shoutout to the service – our waiter was incredibly friendly and made the whole experience even better. Really appreciated the warm and attentive approach. Highly recommend Sophie’s for anyone after top-notch food, a great setting, and genuinely good service.

Google
I really wanted to like Sophie's as it was meant to be our Dublin “splurge” dinner, but both dishes were a letdown. My seafood pasta (€29) tasted like something I could make at home with jarred sauce. The “seafood linguine” was actually spaghetti, and while the mussels, shrimp, and clams were fine, the dish itself had no real flavor or depth. No Parmesan, no bread—just flat. My friend’s gnocchetti was equally underwhelming. The room was quite noisy, and we were so disappointed by our main courses that we didn’t even want to stay for dessert. The view was nice, and our server was polite but seemed a bit confused. Overall, it felt more like a trendy first-date spot for twenty- and thirty-somethings than a genuine dining experience. We left disappointed and wouldn’t come back or recommend it.

Google
Amazing ambience and service. Really loved the cocktails and coffee with a beautiful sky view. Ordered pizza for dinner and it was perfect. Really recommend to go there for experiencing a fabulous rooftop restaurant bar in the center of Dublin.

Google
Very good brunch in Dublin. We went there on Sunday for a late brunch. The place is very nice with a great view of the city. Service is good and fast. Our dishes were well prepared, and portions are abundant. I would recommend it for brunch lunch or dinner.

Yelp
So be sure to make a reservation for brunch. We made the mistake of not having one but got lucky with 2 newly opened seats at the bar. The service with the bartender was good. I had the French toast with bacon. My friend had eggs Benedict. The food was average. They have a nice cocktail menu and the drinks were really good. We were there on a pretty sunny day so the view was great!
google avatar

Corie D.

Yelp
This place is a little overrated in my opinion. I came for breakfast during the week as I wanted to see the view and was excited about the food. I got the Benedict and it had good flavor but the eggs were overcooked and the yoke wasn't runny as you'd usually expect. The restaurant was fairly empty but service was still relatively slow given the emptiness. The view was ok but you can't see a whole lot other than a bunch of cranes so if tight on time in Dublin I'd skip this place.

Yelp
While visiting Dublin, I was staying at the Dean so Sophie's seemed like the easiest and quickest option to get food from a couple of times. I had their breakfast first, which was honestly just average. It wasn't bad but it didn't blow me away. I had a much better experience having dinner there a couple days later! The Summer Salad was nice and refreshing but definitely not filling so I followed up with the Soup of the Day which was perfect. If you're looking for breakfast in Dublin, I might recommend trying somewhere else but dinner at Sophie's is definitely worth trying!

Yelp
Takes a lot for me to write a negative review but this deserves every bit of that 1 star A brief timeline: We went for just drinks. The table next to ours (only other table) apparently didn't get their entrees. Eventually they came, but their sides didn't. By the time the chips came out, they said it was too late and didn't want them. Really set the tone for our experience. Our first drinks came out in about 10 minutes after sitting. From then we received no attention until 40+ minutes later, when two friends came to meet us. We mistakenly asked for another round, which took another 15 minute for the new arrivals to receive, but the server again apparently forgot to put in ours, which we didn't get for 25 more minutes. Overall the visit was mostly just confounding. The hotel is nice, the bar downstairs was good, and I can't speak for the food at Sophie's. But I can say assuredly I will never be returning.

Yelp
Stopped by last night and had a few drinks with some friends, and it was an amazing experience! The place has great Scotch and Guinness on hand, and enjoyed my drink while I enjoyed the sunset over the city. The service was decent, although staff will attempt to pack a lot of people together and get as many orders as possible. Ambiance is spectacular, as the restaurant is located on the rooftop of the building. There is a window showing 3/4 of the city and has a great vibe to it! May come back if I'm in the city!

Yelp
A friend recommended Sophie's Bar for scenic drinks and bites. The glasshouse bar and restaurant is located at the top of The Dean hotel, and has beautiful 360 degree views of Dublin. Due to all of the windows, the lighting is incredible as well. We initially intended on having dinner here, but ended up changing it to drinks and apps as we decided on a fish and chips spot for later on instead. For drinks I think we both ordered the Sophie Doesn't Know cocktail. For apps we ordered the antipasti board which included mortadella, prosciutto, Milano salami, feta dip, olives, and homemade bread as well as the leek croquettes. Both apps were very tasty. I also really enjoyed the Red Sweety Drop Peppers on the antipasti board - something I had never tried or seen before. This bar and restaurant definitely has picturesque views so I'd recommend to anyone looking for a gorgeous spot to get drinks.

Yelp
Service was fast and efficient, the cocktails were very nice, they didn't scimp on the ingredients! The views over the city were decent although nicer after dusk. A bit of a boring atmosphere if im honest unless there's more than two of you. The restaurant is on the 5th floor and there's a few cute swings there and a nice outdoor space as seen in my picture.
google avatar

Steph G.

Yelp
The food is really good. Hands-down, the cocktails are delicious and craft it very well. It's just a walk from our hotel. Really quick and fast service will definitely come back.

Yelp
I made reservations a day before and was able to get a table on the terrace. You enter through The Dean. The restaurant is upscale and modern. The view was amazing! We were able to see the sunset while enjoying our delicious dinner :). Drinks- We ordered thinking of you and rated-r. They were both presented very nicely and were delicious if you are into sweet drinks. Personally for me, they were too syrupy but overall had great flavors. Food- We got the Parmesan fries for the table and oh my god. They were SO GOOD. The sauce was so tasty. For our main dishes, my friend ordered the 8oz beef fillet with a side of mac. She loved both! I ordered the pearl couscous and really enjoyed it. I was happy to find a vegetarian dish that was not the typical pasta or a burger dish :). I definitely recommend this restaurant for a date night or drinks out with your friends! It is on the pricier side but totally worth it.

Yelp
We went to Sophie's last night 6 of us. Food was absolutely gorgeous. Great pizzas, fish was great . The service was really good great waiter was super efficent. great atmosphere and you were able to talk. We really had a great night and will go back. Highly recommend Sophie's

Yelp
Great restaurant! We ate breakfast and admired the beautiful morning view of Dublin. The food was incredible, and the service was fantastic. I want to visit again when I return to Dublin and try having dinner there as well.

Yelp
We grabbed snacks and drinks here one night when staying in the hotel. Advertised as a swanky rooftop bar, maybe my expectations were too high, but I wasn't super impressed with much except the way they expeditiously got us seated without reservations, we really appreciated that! Our server was not helpful, nor was she friendly. I have a gluten allergy, and most of the dinner menu had gluten. When I asked if she could check with the kitchen for options to just leave bread off etc to make something gf, she just said no substitutions, walked away and came back 10 mins later to ask us what we wanted again. I ordered the saffron risotto appetizer since it was one of the only gf items. It was not good, rice undercooked, unsalted and bland, very tiny portion. I was generally underwhelmed. My husband and friend were able to order pizzas, so they were happy with their orders. I ended up heading back to the room early and eating snacks I had in my bag.

Yelp
This was our last dinner in Ireland before my husband headed back to the US. This was by far one of our favorite spots we've been too here, our food was delicious, drinks were great and the view was amazing. Our waitress was super kind and attentive, highly recommend this for a cute date night.

Yelp
Pretty good! The best part of Sophie's is the pretty decor and the view. They have fresh food choices and it was pretty good - though we liked some other locations in Dublin a bit more. But I appreciated that they had some vegetarian options.

Yelp
Gee wiz!!! I find myself wondering what the hell do I do to deserve such fine dinning at a fine establishment. How does a small town man like myself find a way to get such a big amount of food down. Well I'll tell ya when u get food this good it would be a shame for any of it to be taken home. From the buratta gnocchi where the pesto flavors matched amazing with the cheese and gnocchi to the ooey gooey Mac n cheese where I honestly almost had to pick my mouth from off the floor it was so jaw droppingly good. For Christ sake the waitress went above and beyond with everything from drink service to putting a piece of paper to make the table stop moving. I can't stress enough how much better food is when ur getting treated the way this place treats you and that means something coming from a guy like me. For the love of god This is family...THIS IS SOPHIE's.

Yelp
Best breakfast we've had in Dublin thus far! I got the buttermilk pancakes with fresh berries, topped with whipped cream. Amazing. So moist and crisp edges!

Yelp
Great views of the city! Great trendy modern design. Meat board and Pizza was delicious. Service was good. Very cool vibes, great for a date night or group night out.

Yelp
Got the filet, Guinness, and ice cream great ambiance. Amazing service and friendly staff. Make sure to get reservation and the filet was definitely worth it

Yelp
Best Caesar salad I've had in a while!! The burger & fries was really good too. Paired everything with a yummy cocktail. The view of the city was awesome and the whole rooftop area is SO cute.

Yelp
Food was amazing! Drinks were ok. The service in the beginning was crap! The lady took our order at 530 then vanished, I had to hunt her down. She was talking with her friend, forgot all about our food sitting on the window. She forgot about my wife's allergies. Thank God for the little gal with shortc brown hair for taking care of us way better than our original lady. She must have been a galway girl. They comped our entire meal, we tipped the other waitress very generously for taking care of us. We wouldn't go back again unfortunately.

Yelp
Great view. Good food. Solid service. Highly recommend the duck croquets and the salmon salad. Stay away from the veggie side dish. It was badly overcooked.

Yelp
Rooftop Bar/ Restaurant on the 5th floor of The Dean Hotel.. you enter thru the hotel lobby. This joint comes in VERY handy after walking around Dublin all day and you just wanna have a nice cocktail or dessert! Walking off the elevator... you get a glimpse of the outdoor seating over Harcourt Street that offers great views of the Luas. Entering the bar area... you are greeted by a panorama of floor to ceiling windows that offer outstanding views of Dublin! Lots of exposed wood & steel give it a very industrial/ trendy look. The bar is square and actually huge; probably 40 stools they said! They offer breakfast, lunch & dinner with brunch on the weekends. They have an extensive cocktail list.. I would just have the bartender make you something.. I was never disappointed! Tried the burger one day for lunch with a few Guinness and it was very good. Also had a filet mignon with carrot puree and pearl onion / mushroom jus that was outstanding for a *late* dinner after a long day of ParTyiN'.. was perfect. Nice little dessert menu too, try the brownie or the tiramisu. Service is good & most of the staff are from other countries, the girls are gorgeous! Night manager also awesome, took care of me every night. Talk later// PS- Don't overtip the hotties
google avatar

Jaime F.

Yelp
We thought the atmosphere was great! Super friendly service. Great presentation, I really liked my pasta but my boyfriend wasn't a big fan of his filet but we both agreed the rest made the visit worth it and wished we would of tried the dessert.

Yelp
In my opinion this is a must visit in Dublin. The view is outstanding, the drinks are very fun, and the food is amazing. The only downside is that it is a bit off the beaten path from the usual tourist spots. I split both the caesar salad and a pizza with a friend and it was plenty of food.

Linda S.

Yelp
Host was horrible--terrible to the couple in front of us and incredibly rude to us as well. Should be working alone in a back room with no interaction with the public. Pizza was bland. Incredibly disappointing given extraordinary 3rd party reviews.

Yelp
We came here on a Thursday morning around 10 for brunch as a group of 5 + 1 child. The place is on the top floor (5th fl) of the Dean Hotel. Pros: 1. The place is very spacious and have a lovely view of the Dublin city. 2. Food is delicious and they have fresh squeezed OJ, tho the menu items are limited but has the basics. Cons: 1. Lack of service : There were only a few other tables of customers for brunch when we came. We were seated right away but the waiter took A LONG TIME to come back and take our orders. 2. A bit pricey: yogurt with fresh fruit & granola ,porridge, or fruit cup will cost you €7-9 while main dishes like french toast, pancakes, full Irish breakfast, eggs benedict will cost you €13-15. Coffee and lattes are €3-3.5 3. No kids menu or half portion for the kid size Just a side note, since we are not staying at the hotel, they can't serve alcoholic beverages (such as bailey coffee or bloody marys) to us until 12 pm. Apparently this is an Irish law. As mentioned in my pros and cons, the food were yummy but strange that they served the food BEFORE our coffees were brought to the tables. In addition, the waiter barely checked up on us during our entire meal. We had to walk up to the bar to ask for the check even though there were barely any customers. What's even more annoying is that they didn't take off the alcoholic drinks from our check even though we never were served. I understand that it was a mistake, but still was annoyed given the lack of service provided to us. Good thing we looked! I think the place has potential but for the cost of food, the Service certainly doesn't measure up.

Yelp
A group of local colleagues made reservations here for dinner. Its located at the top of the Dean (not easy to find because there are no signs from the street). Stepped into the restaurant and I was awestruck by the 360 degree views of Dublin. Awesome! We had a large circular booth and chairs to accommodate our group. We were a little late, so several were already enjoying some Guinness Beers. Servers were friendly & sassy And kept the drinks & food coming throughout the evening. Food? We had a large group, so we ate tapas/family style and shared the starters. Starters: Italian Antipasto Board: Good. I had just come from Italy, so wasn't impressed. Smoked Haddock Risotto: Very Good. Didn't last long. Roast Quail: Very Good. Gone quickly, barely got a nibble. Crispy Salt & Pepper Squid: Good. Entree: 8oz Fillet Steak cooked medium rare. This was good. A little more rare than I would have liked and needed more flavoring (pepper sauce didn't cut it). Nevertheless, the atmosphere was festive and our group grew and we stayed until closing. A great time was had by all.

Yelp
We were given different prices at the end of our meal. We were charged 14.95 instead of 13.95 for 3 meals. I doubt many customers notice this because it is so tiny in comparison to their expensive prices. However, the cherry on top was the manager who tried to blame me for eating a meal with an allergen that was not listed on the menu yet placed directly into the meal. This was their question: "Out of curiosity, why did you eat it?" I'm appalled at how trivial this was for the staff. They were even laughing at the counter. I will be posting photos for reference to the menu and its bogus allergen guides.

Yelp
I was visiting Dublin for a wedding. Our organizer chose this place for a low key hen party. First, the drinks are amazing. I started with a vulcano. Top notch! We moved upstairs for dinner. The service was excellent, food is great & hearty portions. Our husbands joined us when the hen was leaving and we stayed til closing. I have to say the best cocktails in Dublin. Whiskey sour is not like the ones you get in the states. I ordered one at the open bar at the wedding and it was terrible. Friend said I had been spoiled by Sophie's I'll need their recipe & version so I can make them at home
google avatar

Hannah P.

Yelp
If you're looking for a view of the city, Sophie's is a great spot. We were so glad to find this place on our second day visiting Dublin! The view & atmosphere at Sophie's were truly perfect, and the food was delicious. We started with the Crispy Prawns with Asian Slaw - super fresh, lightly fried with a bright vinegar cabbage slaw - the Smoked Burrata - really creamy with fresh tomatoes and a sweet balsamic reduction. We then shared a pizza with pepperoni, red onion, and goat cheese and that was perfect. Our waitress was really sweet and attentive. The only complaint we had, and the reason I can't give it 5 stars, is that the pours were light for the cost of the drinks - my boyfriend asked for a gin on the rocks and received a glass of ice with a splash of gin, for the cost of a cocktail elsewhere. He also had a martini that was half the size of the martini's we're used to - We loved our experience at Sophie's and would be back often if we lived in the area. The food was reasonably priced for the (awesome) value and the atmosphere, but drinks are on the pricey side to be sure!

Yelp
A friend in Dublin recommended this bar to me for it's great view and because of its amazing name. We went for brunch on a Friday morning and the place was pretty empty with only a couple tables full. We sat next to the windows and were treated to a full view of the city, which was one of my favorite parts of the meal. Luckily, the sky was really clear so we could really see everything. Our table got the eggs benedict, the french toast, and the porridge with berries. The eggs benedict were really tasty, as was the french toast. There was some metal in the porridge, but our waitress and the manager were quick to apologize and cop the porridge as well as our coffees. The service, despite it being pretty empty, was pretty slow, and it ended up being a long brunch. The restaurant was also so big that it was hard to flag anyone down because, even though we could see a lot of workers on the other side of the bar, no one really walked over. Despite, this I would say it is definitely worth a visit for the views.

Yelp
Bolognese of Calamari & Chorizo (6 NOMs) Enjoy a perfect Italian dish from a rooftop bar restaurant Sophie's with a view of the beautiful Dublin, especially on a nice day. This was probably one of our most favorite dishes from the trip. Both beautiful and one of the best tasting pasta dishes we've ever had. The perfect combination of calamari and spiced chorizo with aged parmesan. The hand rolled pasta was very light and soft. Every bite was pure joy and it's one of those dishes we had to enjoy slowly to savor every bite. Not the cheapest dish for €25 ($27), but totally worth it when you enjoy one of the best Italian dishes ever. Make sure to stop by Sophie's for good food, drinks, and the view.

Yelp
Best pancakes in Dublin! My partner and I wanted a window seat to see the views of Dublin and we were accommodated. I ordered pancakes with fruit, my partner ordered the breakfast and boy were we impressed! Sumptuous brunch, I also got a glass of prosecco. The restaurant was busy, staff were friendly and I am definitely going back for some more pancakes! It was affordable too, our meals came up to €33.50 even with the prosecco. The swings just outside the restaurant is a treat.

Yelp
This was such a great find. So glad I came. My date and I had a drink called 'shall we dance.' The strawberry on it was fresh and delicious. Yum. We chose mushroom risotto and scallop appetizers. Both very good choices. The mushroom flavor was strong but not overpowering. For dinner, he got the gnocchi and I ordered the roast pork ragu with penne. I definitely won that round. My dinner was fantastic! The portions are way too big though. I was definitely defeated by pasta. It was totally worth it though.
google avatar

Ellen S.

Yelp
Yes, this is a good brunch spot. The view all over Dublin is pretty impressive, and I like the whole lay out and how spacious it is Brunch menu is fairly standard, but they do pizza and flatbread as well. I opted for a bagel with avocado and smoked salmon. It came with a massive side salad, and I enjoyed every bite. For 10 euro certainly didn't break the bank. It's very popular, so make sure to book well in advance.
google avatar

Eleanor K.

Yelp
The view from Sophie's seems to be the best thing about it. On a clear day you can see all over Dublin. Went here for brunch and it was fine, nothing amazing. I had the huevos rancheros and it wasn't great. Very rich, hard to actually eat as they serve it in a skillet pan and you have a butter knife to try cut through it. I'd really prefer a plate sometimes. My friends ordered different dishes, eggs florentine and avocado toast and I was disappointed when i saw theirs compared to mine. I would go back to try other things on the menu but only after pay day, it is very expensive. The server we got wasn't great either, one of our party had to order 3 different drinks before he found one that was in stock.

Michael S.

Yelp
I got food poisoning today, 17 October 2022 from the smoked salmon. No one else in my party got sick and I was the only one who had the fish.

Yelp
This place is famous among Dubliners as one of the best brunch places, so I've been meaning to come here for a while! If you have a big group (we were 8), make sure to book a table in advance. Firstly the decor is so nice, and the view of Dublin from this rooftop bar is stunning! The service was pretty good at the start, but we found towards the end of the meal it was difficult to get their attention to order drinks or the bill. I got the Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and spinach which was really nice, runny egg yolks like they're supposed to be! The potatoes with it were delicious too. Ordered a side of honeyed avocado, and I just got sliced avocado! Pointed this out and it came back with honey on it this time. My friends got the huevos rancheros and full Irish fry which they liked. We were drinking gin & tonics which were great, two friends got Espresso Martinis which they raved about so that's definitely worth a try! Good place, not blown away by the food, but worthwhile coming here now and again!

Yelp
The service has improved! The service has improved! On my 3 day stint at The Dean Hotel, I dined at Sophie's twice. Both times were totally on point, delicious food, that excellent view of Dublin and much better service than I was expecting. Maybe it was just those early day jitters, but Sophie's seemed very much in stride and liked they'd started to come into their own a bit. First, a last minute decision for dinner Monday night. My dining companion called ahead, they assured us they had a table, we showed up, were seated promptly and enjoyed a beautiful dinner overlooking Dublin. Our server was not only attentive (almost overly so!) but sweet and affable. Not what I was expecting given the general chorus on "bad service at Sophie's" -- things are on the up and up, folks! The food was a delight as well, we split 2 mains (chicken and fish) as well as a few veg sides. A bottle of white wine? Sure! We were pleasantly plump upon departure... My experience was so great I returned for midday lunch on Wednesday -- while a limited menu is on offer, it packs a quality punch. The cornfed chicken with pappardelle was gorgeous, my pal and I split it and a caprese salad. It was luck grown up mac 'n cheese, sinful and decadent. Yum. If you're going to splurge, might as well be pasta amiright!? Hopefully they've gotten over those growing pains and the service seemed to be the only thing holding Sophie back. She's got her groove back, give her a go.

Yelp
For a hotel cocktail bar, this place is way nicer than your average. It's part restaurant, part bar and has an amazing view over Dublin so it's worth it to see the view alone. We drank at the bar but I believe there's outdoor, heated seating. The cocktail I had - the Thinking of You is delicious, €11 and expertly made. I'm totally going back for another one. Staff were friendly enough!

Yelp
I finally made it to Sophie's! I loved the interior.. looks very classy and was quite spacious (something rare in Dublin). It seems like a nice place to have cocktails with some friends for a more classy kind of evening.. I like that it is classy but doesn't appear too snobby .. if you know what I mean :) The view over Dublin is obviously stunning as well and shouldn't be missed! I think the majority of their food is more on the pricey side but I did have a pizza and the price was completely ok/normal (between 12 and 16 euros depending on what type of pizza) :) I did hear before that this place would be more recommended for their drinks and not for their food.. so I did not expect too much, but I have to say it was fine :) Not the best pizza I've had but by far not the worst. We also ordered Cocktails and they were really delicious. They also have a great Cocktail menu with lots of variety. Loved it. Prices are around 10€ for a Cocktail which is standard I guess. Dessert was quite massive! I insisted to get my own dessert and not share with my bf but guess I would have been fine if we shared it.. #noregrets I think we paid 65 euros for 2 - with main, dessert and 1 cocktail. The service was very friendly but unfortunately a bit slow. All in all I had a good evening and would definitely recommend it.

Yelp
A big NO for me on so many levels unfortunately, as I really wanted to like this place. 1 star docked for surly service from a French waiter who goes out of his way to avoid going near our table 1 star docked for really really poor food - you would expect BLT in a venue like this to be served with artisan bread. We got something similar to Brennans sliced pan. Fries were the frozen kind, fried to within an inch of their lives and served cold. Coleslaw content was 50% mayonnaise. I could get better food at an O'Briens sandwich bar 1 star docked for a ridiculous waiting time. 20 minutes to get our order placed and about 50 minutes for our food to arrive. Almost everyone had to leg it out there to get back to work. 2 stars remaining - the view was amazing, you could see the snow-capped mountains and the venue utilised the space well in their design; I would call it effortlessly modern chic. Another star redeemed as the manager approached my friend at the end of the meal to apologise for the kerfuffle, comp-ed our entire meal and is changing the lunch setup in future. It will be a while before I recover from this bad experience - I returned (read: ran like a mad cow) back to the office for a meeting and was so stressed out that my nose gushed blood over the conference table in front of my colleagues. They were not impressed. This really happened... it's not a joke :(

Yelp
I think this is one of my favourite place in Dublin.... I have been here for cocktails, for brunch, for dinner.... And on friday, the dj puts some old school hip hop and smooth rnb, sooo perfect! So, if you want to eat there remember to book your table a little in advance, it can be get full very quikly (same for the brunch). But you can always have a nice cocktail party at the bar! By the way, you will not find "classic cocktails" here but very fancy creative and special ones! You will definetely want to try them all ehehe And of course, the view is more than nice.... Again, I love this place and if you are passing by Dublin you really should go and have a look!

Yelp
This is a review for the bar only and not the food. I'm a fan of Sophie's when not eating there - I mean, the view, come on! They have a particular version of espresso Martinis with a little bit of Guinness in it - very extremely yum. Mojitos are my fail safe as well - you'd be surprised how many bars make terrible ones - but Sophie's are a dab hand. Now if you're up there during the day, the booths and seats not at the bar will generally be reserved for people eating. My advice is to dress nice n warm and head out to the front balcony area and lay in the day beds. Amazing in the summer but also doable in the winter. Beware though, once you recline, tis hard to move on! Those cocktails ain't cheap...!

Yelp
I like his place for wine, less so for food. The deck is awesome in the summer and they could do with expanding it, but, given the Irish weather it's probably big enough! Be warned though, get there early at the fist sign of sunshine! Staff are generally helpful and prompt, but sometimes on the deck, device can be a little slow. The food is okay, pizza is best thing they have. I don't like sitting at the bar-the seats are uncomfortable and it kind of feels wrong to eat at a bar. Tables are nice though and view is fantastic. Recommend booking on weekends.

Yelp
@SophiesDublin is a new stylish bar on the 5th floor of the Dean Hotel in a fantastic location on Harcourt street. A go to bar at the moment, crowded when I was there...DJ's in the night with really good tunes The cocktail menu is amazing, definitely worth a try!!!! I have had the pleasure to try all of them - Cuban espresso and 6.30 wake up call are my favourites. Pizza is also fantastic, thin and crispy just how I like it...haven't tried any of the other food - menu looks promising though.

Yelp
Great place for breakfast - no crowds at early morning before taking a tour. The view is the best.

Yelp
This is our first trip to Ireland and we stayed at the Dean. We ate at Sophie's for breakfast both days. What a great place. We went for breakfast both times. I would highly recommend it. I had the French toast with fruit and the pancakes with bananas. My friend had the Irish breakfast. Our waitress Aga was super friendly, professional and attentive and Fernando the manager was charismatic and accommodating and the reason we came back the second day.
