Coffee-tea-bakery-wine? Yes! And I hear they have beer, too. So I can stop here in the morning before shopping at the nearby Wiregrass mall-and stop by in the evening, when I'm done. I love bookend beverages! And I love Sorbo!
Outside, it looks like so many places-with outdoor tables. Inside-it's totally different. It's dark and zen-and sort of swanky, even by day. There are low tables on one side-full of people working on laptops. There's a cute couch area on the other side, perfect for chatting with friends or taking Insta pics. And there's a high communal table in the middle, with a strip of rocks down the middle. The vibe is both chill and intoxicating. And I'm clearly not the only one who feels it. This place is busy and, I think, beloved. It seems like the clientele is very devoted. It's trendy and warm and different from all the cookie cutter places.
So, I've set the scene, let's check out the menu. There are sooooo many tea and coffee drinks-a huge variety of tastes and combinations-and they're all so pretty. I had the signature strawberry matcha latte on one visit-and it's super refreshing-not too sweet-with lots of fresh, really delish strawberries. I didn't mix it-but I will next time-so each sip has a bit of each flavor. On my second visit, I had the matcha ube latte. Ohhh, it was pretty, too. I had it with oat milk and it paired perfectly with the flavors. I'd have this again, too. (And I'll choose to dine in... since it looks like they have gorgeous and fun glasses for in house use)
Now, a moment please, for the baked goods. I had a pistachio croissant-that was delightful (flaky, light, delicate). But the star of this show is the matcha macadamia cookie-it's absolutely divine. It's warm and melty and rich and next level yum. I've never had a better cookie (save for Mom's and Grandma's). I could eat a whole pile of them. Thank goodness I don't live right around the corner.
They don't have menu boards on the wall-but you can grab a laminated paper menu at the front counter. And be sure to check out the little chalkboard signs at the ordering spot. There are other suggestions, there. (Thanks for the tip, Karen V!) The staff is very helpful and patient and give great recommendations. If you're stuck, they can help.
It does get busy-and crowded in the morning. That's the only reason this isn't a 5 star review. It gets a little squishy. But I like their buzzer system for pickup.
Sorbo is right there on Bruce B Downs-near the Adventhealth Hospital. If you get off I-75 on 56, hang a left at Rooms to Go. It's in the same plaza as Dickey's bbq. It's a busy parking lot but there are extra spaces on the side. I'll see you there!
