Sorell Boutique-Hotel Krone Winterthur Altstadt

Very centrally located. At a shopping-walking street without traffic, but with several restaurants and stores. It is a clean and tidy hotel. The staff are friendly, especially the man at the reception was extremely helpful. The train station, bus station and a car rental office are a few minutes away, very convenient.

I stayed in this hotel a few weeks ago when visiting a friend in Winterthur. Perfect location right in town, and the king bed room I got was perfect; big size room, hard wood floors and nice design. Also appreciated the free bike rental, really handy when doing things around town. Will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Winterthur!

1. I used the Google map to guide me to the hotel. Instead of leading me to the main entrance on Marktgasse, it showed the way to the entrance of the hotel's restaurant on Spitalgass, which took me more time to reach the hotel.2. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable.3. There was a yoga map in the wardrobe.4. Welcome drink was offered, and you can always get a crossaint, an apple and a cup of coffee from the table next to the reception.5. The restaurant was spacious.6. The buffet breakfast might not be the best, but it is for sure a good start for the day.

Great hotel - nice sized room with very comfortable bed. Good sized bathroom. Espresso machine in room, free pods. Excellent location. Great choice at breakfast.

Took two rooms here for a 4 night stay between two adults / two children plus Labrador. Excellent service, location and extremely genuinely pet friendly. Peggy on Reception fabulous and attentive - even helping us with locations for days out/visits. Good value, very comfortable rooms. We took the parking option which was interesting with the lift but very secure. Only tiny tiny grumble was the hot option at breakfast was never hot - either at 7am or 10am (we tried both!). Definitely a very minor point in the scheme of things though and only mentioned in order to help the Hotel resolve this in case anyone else finds the same issue as I think I have seen the same thing mentioned in a previous review. Would not hesitate to come back, and probably will do so as Son is studying nearby. Peggy and Team a credit to the brand. Thank you.

The rooms design is beautiful and cozy. Great location too.

We booked a superior double room which was very spacious with a couch, armchair and walk in shower. A corner room on a main pedestrianised thoroughfare, we thought it would be noisy, but the windows were soundproof and we slept well. The service from the front desk staff was excellent. The room had a coffee machine but no kettle and some maintenance is needed for the WC flush. Breakfast was adequate although not a huge range. The location was excellent for eating out, shopping and a short 5 minute walk to the train station. It was a quiet, comfortable, relaxing stay for the end of our 5 week European trip. We found the people of Winterthur to be friendly and helpful. It is a great alternative to staying in Zurich as the train is direct to the airport in around 15 minutes.

I stayed in this hotel in room 402, requested to have a quite room upon the booking. During one night of my stay, i kept hearing the door of my next room kept opened and closed with many people kept going in and out. Loud music and people talk. I monitored the situation and it getting louder even passed 11 PM. Does partying in hotel room is allowed for Sorell Krone Hotel's policy? If yes, i will never choose to stay in this hotel in the first place. Called to the receptionist, the person said that the receptionist has closed its working hour and i need to wait until next morning. Do i need to bear this situation until morning? This countermeasure is so irresponsible. The least that they need to resolve the situation. I requested that if you can not resolved the noise, i would like to change a room. After 15 minutes later, they called back and informed that other room in 1st floor is available. I need to repack and unpacked around midnight. Hotel staff from restaurant and security side were really helpful in their limited capacity Next morning during check out, I informed the situation to receptionist officer and she promised to give me feedback related to this incident which until today i did not hear from the hotel. No sense of responsibility, at all.

Terrific room in a very central location. Which we could have stayed longer. (Breakfast is just ok)

We had a very pleasant stay. The missing second set of towels was supplied within minutes. Breakfast was really good. Several different very tasty fresh fruits were served. It must have been a very special night in Winterthur, and many rather loud people were underway. That somehow disturbed our sleep by an open window. But that definitely doesn't account to the quality of the hotel. The room was spacious and well equipped. Service was very friendly. I would definitely return to this hotel, if I would need a hotel in Winterthur.
