Sorell Hotel Krone

1. I used the Google map to guide me to the hotel. Instead of leading me to the main entrance on Marktgasse, it showed the way to the entrance of the hotel's restaurant on Spitalgass, which took me more time to reach the hotel.2. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable.3. There was a yoga map in the wardrobe.4. Welcome drink was offered, and you can always get a crossaint, an apple and a cup of coffee from the table next to the reception.5. The restaurant was spacious.6. The buffet breakfast might not be the best, but it is for sure a good start for the day.

Took two rooms here for a 4 night stay between two adults / two children plus Labrador. Excellent service, location and extremely genuinely pet friendly. Peggy on Reception fabulous and attentive - even helping us with locations for days out/visits. Good value, very comfortable rooms. We took the parking option which was interesting with the lift but very secure. Only tiny tiny grumble was the hot option at breakfast was never hot - either at 7am or 10am (we tried both!). Definitely a very minor point in the scheme of things though and only mentioned in order to help the Hotel resolve this in case anyone else finds the same issue as I think I have seen the same thing mentioned in a previous review. Would not hesitate to come back, and probably will do so as Son is studying nearby. Peggy and Team a credit to the brand. Thank you.

I stayed in this hotel in room 402, requested to have a quite room upon the booking. During one night of my stay, i kept hearing the door of my next room kept opened and closed with many people kept going in and out. Loud music and people talk. I monitored the situation and it getting louder even passed 11 PM. Does partying in hotel room is allowed for Sorell Krone Hotel's policy? If yes, i will never choose to stay in this hotel in the first place. Called to the receptionist, the person said that the receptionist has closed its working hour and i need to wait until next morning. Do i need to bear this situation until morning? This countermeasure is so irresponsible. The least that they need to resolve the situation. I requested that if you can not resolved the noise, i would like to change a room. After 15 minutes later, they called back and informed that other room in 1st floor is available. I need to repack and unpacked around midnight. Hotel staff from restaurant and security side were really helpful in their limited capacity Next morning during check out, I informed the situation to receptionist officer and she promised to give me feedback related to this incident which until today i did not hear from the hotel. No sense of responsibility, at all.

We booked a superior double room which was very spacious with a couch, armchair and walk in shower. A corner room on a main pedestrianised thoroughfare, we thought it would be noisy, but the windows were soundproof and we slept well. The service from the front desk staff was excellent. The room had a coffee machine but no kettle and some maintenance is needed for the WC flush. Breakfast was adequate although not a huge range. The location was excellent for eating out, shopping and a short 5 minute walk to the train station. It was a quiet, comfortable, relaxing stay for the end of our 5 week European trip. We found the people of Winterthur to be friendly and helpful. It is a great alternative to staying in Zurich as the train is direct to the airport in around 15 minutes.

Excellent location, kind and helpful staff, good food. nice accommodations, even had option to park nearby. Did not want to leave. Thank you Sorrell Krone staff.

The service was amazing and the room was VERY comfortable, with large windows that open (for those of us who dislike aircons). The staff were friendly and very helpful. I did arrive by train after 10PM and finding the Hotel was very difficult.

Please see the video uploaded. This hotel is a scam. Don’t come. Was here since 8pm waited till 11pm no one at reception. Called the hotel number - connected to some lady who speaks perfect english but refuses to speak english and say this is Switzerland and english is not the mother language. She saids our name is not on the reservation list despite us trying to give our booking confirmation no. I booked for two nights. Don’t even get to checked in. There were two other couples there who were victimised too. They also tried to reach the numbers provided and received the same response as my video recording. One couple decided to force his was into the front door (door was locked and we were just waiting outside for hours) and search for a room key, the other couple left together with us in disappointment. Please watch out.

Having already experienced the Sorell brand in Switzerland, I chose this hotel for its unbeatable central location and reasonable price. ||A huge thumbs-up for the whole staff: whether at reception, in the restaurant or during breakfast, each team member was smiling and helpful. ||||I booked a Standard Single Room. Although small, it was comfortable and offered many amenities - including coffee machine, slippers. Bed and mattress of good quality. As usual in Switzerland, room and bathroom spotlessly clean. ||Unfortunately the whole experience was let down by the incredibly hot temperature in the room: 29°C during the whole night! The air-conditioning was switched on, but only with the ventilator option. I could not get it to work as proper air-conditioning. Needless to say, I slept rather badly.||||On the positive side, the breakfast buffet made up for the uncomfortable night. Sorell hotels proud themselves on their breakfast offer, and I fully agree. Generous buffet, beautiful presentation, many products coming from local and regional suppliers. Overall an excellent and tasty experience. ||||All in all, a good address for a short stay in Winterthur. But the air-conditioning device must definitely be checked, as it spoiled the whole stay.
