We were on a quick city trip to Zurich, with much anticipation and excitement. The hotel lies literally on top of the city, above the winter morning fog and the forest right next to it. The location is without a doubt sublime. The staff, in particular a certain gentleman at the reception wasn't at all to our liking. We reserved our stay via phone a month in advance, and wanted to double check a few days upon arrival if our room provides a bath tub. So we called again the reception, only to receive a very unpolite, rather inappropriate tone with no support in order to finally get a room including a bathtub. A day after I called again, a young enthusiastic female voice managed to secure a room including a bath tub, finally. Once we've arrived, the very same man from the phone call greeted us at the reception. As we wanted to experience a proper Swiss winter getaway, we asked for a table of two at the temporary Swiss Chalet for a delicious fondue, only to be dissapointed as they apparently were fully booked. Two hours later, after the man finished his shift, a different receptionist managed to get us a table, on the same evening we had asked previously for. This man is in our eyes not suited for a career in hospitality nor anything that has to do with customer service. I'm surprised they put someone in charge, who's clearly incapable of doing the most simple and basic tasks as a receptionist. On top, some of the older staff members at breakfast or the cleaners were also unpleasant. The cleaners disturbed us twice even though our sign was on "do not disturb". Also, our room was poorly cleaned, as we lifted a chair to change the position of it, we discovered big amounts of dust hiding underneath it. The young employees instead, are all very kind, helpful and enthusiastic. This hotel will survive only thanks to their younger generation. All together, it does not worth the price you pay, it was our first and for sure only occasion here.
