Loved their Pintxos. They were delicious and the portion size was generous as well. Fried calamari was amazing and came in a very big portion compared to the price. Highly recommended.

So the service was good and the squid dish was excellent. Sadly we ordered the red tuna dish - the most expensive dish on the menu - instead of coming with the advertised avocado, lime and mayonnaise, they cobbled together something with an overly acidic tomato salad and some rocket (picture attached for proof). If you haven't got the ingredients for the dish don't serve it, a real shame as if you do get served what is advertised the food is excellent.

Sorgínzulo is another fantastic pintxos experience in Bilbao, right on Plaza Nueva. It’s a small, bustling spot full of energy—people enjoying pintxos, wine, and music, with crowds lining up for the next round of tapas. The selection is big, prices are fair for the location, and the flavors are excellent. I’d happily come back here again!

The pintos here look colourful and are very creative. We tried a sausage wrapped in pastry topped with a mini egg. It was expectedly tasty but maybe a little rich with the combined combo. The mushroom and goats cheese pinto was juicy and the combo gave it a moorish quality. Washed down with an ice cold beer and it was a great pit stop.

If you can only make it to one pintxo bar, let it be this one. We tried at least 8 different places in Bilbao and we rank this as the top for variety and taste. We love the pintxos here (calamari burger, stuffed anchovy, anything really). The standout dish of the place was the foie which came with popping candy and a brioche that tasted like a torrija, felt like a dish that was invented to be a part of a Michelin-star tasting menu. You have to order & wait for it but it’s worth it! Service is pretty quick and friendly.

A lively pintxos place at the main square, a bit more touristic to our like but the food quality and taste is good, pricing is also very fair. Would prefer an either more local and down to earth or smaller scale pintxos place around the town but if you are for the main stream vibe, the food is definitely good!

The pintxos were excellent and varied, though like with many pintxos I was left with a bit of heartburn. The sangria was very light on alcohol but tasty — for me, that’s a plus. Four pintxos and two sangrias for €25 is a deal you won’t find in Munich or other big cities. Unfortunately, the restroom was extremely dirty.

Stopped here with some friends during a cycling trip to Bilbao. Really friendly service and a selection of really nice tapas for lunch. Very good value, very happy we stopped here 😎.

Pintxo bar experience When walking into a busy pintxo bar, the recommended strategy is to find a stool at the bar and try whatever takes your fancy that's within reach, but do leave some room for the next stop! Sorginzulo is located in one of the corners of Plaza Nueva in Bilbao and is very small. Calamari is their specialty, but it is only served during the weekends. If you are there during the week, no worries! Almost every item is delicious! There were six in our group and all six ordered a couple of pinxos each. No one complained!

Sorginzulo is the place to go for fresh fried calamari, which they proudly explain is available all hours of the day. The place is located in the Plaza Nueva and is surprisingly NOT touristy. This is the first time that I can ever remember having bread that has been colored with squid ink, so that's a thing. I didn't notice any taste difference but black bread that's not pumpernickel? Very different. The fresh fried calamari sandwich with a spicy mayo aioli was amazing. A truly excellent pinxtos. We also enjoyed a bottle of Basque cidre that contrasts well with the fried seafood. Tip: This is where you'll find "the frog" if you're on a scavenger hunt.

We were specifically looking for calamari. They serve it all day every day. Pintxtos were all tasty. Staff was great. Music was fun. It was during siesta time and so almost everybody else was closed, we were happy to find this gem.

The restraint was recommended by a local! You order your pinxto's and beverage at counter. The servers could not give us the time of day. We had no idea what we were ordering and no offer to explain. The server was just a complete jerk to all 4 of us. We had 5 different pinxto's that ranged from good to ok. The crab was fake! Drank some Bilbao white wine, server rolled his eyes when I asked which variety, probably akin to an ok chenin bland. Went next door for our second course and a complete 180!,

We ordered the calamari, shrimp croquettes and they were awesome! Great service, wonderful waiter. Enjoyable Plaza. Highly recommend.

Tastiest pintxos with high quality in the Plaza Nueva. We only sampled a few here. We have been to many pintxo places in the Basque Region and this is really a great place. Very small. Txakoli wine and a few pintxos was the order of the day at each of the places we stopped. We will come back to this place when in Bilbao. Highly recommend.
