Sotetsu Hotels The Splaisir Seoul Myeongdong

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The location is absolutely perfect, just a short walk to City Hall station, which made getting around Seoul a breeze. Plus it's only one stop away from Seoul station, so transferring to the AREX or KTX was super convenient. Myeongdong is also within easy walking distance. The rooms are spacious, modern, and clean. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They patiently showed us how to use the wowpass machine in the lobby and swiftly assisted in retrieving my forgotten powerbank from the room after checkout. The free lockers for luggage storage were convenient for early arrivals or late departures. One minor nitpick: the slippers are replaced daily, which feels a bit wasteful environmentally. But overall, this doesn't detract from what is an excellent hotel offering great value for money.

A very conveniently located hotel with good facilities, comfortable and friendly staff. They even provided pajamas set. Reservation was easy and seamless. The reservation staff Judy Kim was very prompt with her replies and made everything perfect. Another plus point is that there is a coin laundry available at the basement which only cost KRW4000 for wash and another KRW4000 for dryer. Detergent and dry sheet os available at KRW1000. This is very convenient as we could do our laundry and dry for under SGD10. Only setback was the breakfast. Best to dine outside and not in the hotel as the food was not warm.

Great location and friendly staff. The rooms are clean and facility is great. Do note, during Fall/Winter, they do central heating and the room runs HOT. The AC is turned off and you can't use it to adjust to your liking so if you're like us, who likes to be in the colder side in the rooms (67-70F) I would not recommend this hotel. We were burning in the 23-25C (73-77F) room because we're from San Francisco and that's hot weather for us. The other reviews mentioned there are fans available in the front desk but I'm not sure if fans pushing hot air around helps at all. We stayed in the superior double room and it was roomy enough for 2 people. The tub/shower is extremely high so if you have limited mobility, I'd suggest upgrading to the rooms with a walk-in shower. Overall, if we had AC available, this would be a no brainer to stay again. We loved the location. If you don't mind a warm room, this is definitely a good value stay.

To get to this hotel you need to catch the Airport Limousine bus 6015 from Incheon airport and it will take around 1hour 30 minutes to get to the hotel . Then you need to get off at Namdaemun market stop and go down the Namdaemun shopping complex underground and when you get to the other side you will see Ediya Coffee , once you see Ediya Coffee turn up the side street next to Ediya Coffee and you will the the hotel. When you arrive at the hotel you get to go through 3 sets of doors which is different and then you enter the lobby. You then go to reception and you can self check in or if you are unsure a staff member will help you with check in. They then will explain all information to you about the hotel and if you arrive early before 3:00pm you leave your luggage in the lobby and walk around the area to get your bearings. Once you get your key card for your room you just take the lift up to your room. The room is big enough to have 2 luggage and 2 cabin bags with enough room to walk around and there is an air purifier in the room for you to use. The bathroom is a bit different as there is one sliding door for the toilet and the shower , but it is something that you can get used to over time. If you want can open your windows for some fresh air and look around the immediate area. The bed was big enough and quite comfortable. If you go down to B1 there is the breakfast restaurant if you want to have breakfast in the hotel in the morning. Also on B1 there is a gym if you want to exercise and also a laundry room with a washing machine and dryer. If you want to use the washing machine and dryer it will cost 4000 Won each but only can use credit card. In the lobby is a restaurant called Melo if you want to have dinner at the hotel in the evening. Overall it was a comfortable stay with no problems and the room was nice and clean when we arrived.

My husband and I stayed 5 nights during our first ever visit to Seoul. Things We Liked: -Spacious room -Friendly staff -Mini fridge & desk in room -Ice & water machine on basement floor -Laundry on basement floor -Paid for daily breakfast buffet (decent variety with a few vegetarian options) -Great Location (close to subways and markets) Could've Been Better: -Not completely clean feeling / in need of updates and refreshing -Lack of bathroom privacy due to transparent doors -Rooms are SO warm (AC was disabled since it was winter, but no matter what, our room was way too hot - tried keeping the window open, and it still stayed warm) Overall, we did enjoy our trip, but we'd likely find a different hotel if we visit again.

Room was cozy and nice. Shower head in the bathroom was not holding well hence the water splashed far when we showered, we had to make sure the shower curtain was fully covered. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was great- right opposite the Namdaemun market if you want to buy fresh ginseng and have nice Hotteok. Few mins walk to Myeongdong street and lots of eateries beside and behind the hotel. Make sure you bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste.

I had a pleasant stay here. The room was overall very good—clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The location is also excellent, very near Myeongdong, which made it easy to shop and move around. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Overall, a good experience and I would recommend this hotel.

To get to this hotel from Incheon airport it would be best to get the Airport Limousine bus number 6015 and this takes around 1 hour 30 minutes , but it also depends on traffic. You get out at Namdaemun market and then walk underground through the Namdaemun shopping complex to the other side and when you see Ediya Coffee you turn up at Ediya Coffee as you go up a side street to get to the hotel and it is altogether a 2 minute walk.| When you arrive at the hotel you walk through 3 sets of doors and then you can see reception and are greeted near the front doors some Line Friends. Once you get to reception you can either self check in or get a staff member to help you to check in. | They will explain all information to you and then you can take the lift to your room. The room is big enough to have 2 big luggage and 2 cabin bags with still enough room to move around.|In your room if you want can open the windows for fresh air and have a bit of a look around the area. The bathroom is interesting as there is only one sliding door for the shower and the toilet, it is something that you sort of get used to after a while.| The bed was comfortable and if you want can have it made up evenly day or whenever you want it made.| There is a restaurant on site and if you want can have breakfast at hotel but it is downstairs at B1, also at B1 is a gym if you want to work out and also a laundry room if you want to do some washing. There is a washing machine and dryer and these cost 4000 won each but can only use credit card.| The hotel is within walking distance of around 10-15 minutes to the Myeongdong night market and there are also plenty of cafes and restaurants to try close by also.
