Google
So cool to have an authentic coffee place in our desert!! It feels like coffee shop straight out of Italy! Workers are so nice! Great customer service! The food is delicious! I recommend any of the paninis! And the coffee is great! Definitely worth a stop when near by and in need of coffee!!

Maria R.

Google
Extremely welcoming service, the coffee was delicious and so was the food. Highly recommend 👌

Google
I love this little coffee shop! It reminds me of the coffee shops in Ascona Switzerland. Wonderful rich coffees, great bakery, and menu items, and top it off with Italian inspired desserts. Enjoy the Gardens with patio seating.

Google
Very Italian cafe with great variety of wines you can find around Palm Springs. It’s a family owned business and those guys are extremely friendly. That good gelato is hard to find, it really melts in your mouth. Atmosphere is warm and pleasant and terrace is great. I would recommend this place to anybody who is in love with Italian places.

Google
Coffee was good, servers not so much. Very disappointed with how we were greeted here (or lack thereof) early in the morning. We waited for the servers to come back and were given no apologies for the wait. The wait is not the problem, but their attitude. It seemed like one was training the other and the trainer looks annoyed and has an attitude. I feel bad for the trainee and the business. I hope she doesn’t think it’s ok to give attitude towards customers. It will reflect badly on the business. We still gave the coffee a try because we badly need coffee and it was fantastic! Both the one made by the trainer and the trainee.

Google
Wow, they were able to alter my matcha and make it lavender matcha latte with oat milk! The barist was so kind, he had dark shaggy hair and wish i knew his name to give a shoutout! It was delicious , the matcha was surprisingly good

Google
My friend helped design the interior and the lights of Sottovoce Cafe so I decided to pop in for a visit. The owner was there and was super friendly! The space is very chill and relaxing. You’ll want to stay there, have a coffee, chat, maybe grab one of their delicious paninis! I’m looking forward to trying their other selections on the menu soon! I can’t wait to see what they do when the place is fully complete! Support local business that are great! I will do my best to come here more often!

Google
Friendly staff, laidback ambiance, good drinks and pastries. I had the Iced Gingerbread Chai latte. I was very happy with it. Tasted like chai and wasn’t overly sweet. My guest had the Cherry Mocha Latte. She let me taste it and loved it. I could taste the cherry flavor as well as the coffee and it too wasn’t overly sweet. The pasties were equally as good, perfect sweetness and unique. The vanilla raspberry snowflake was my favorite because I enjoyed the crunchy texture. But coconut is tasty too. We will be back! Next time I’m having mimosas and a panini 😊

Yelp

Yelp
Coffee was bitter, services was terrible girl took two phone calls while she was helping us and ignored us and wouldn't tell us what pastries they might've had that were unbagging and the croissant was OK. Gave them a shot instead of the big chain down the street but won't be back.

Yelp
This darling cafe sits on the mezzanine level of the Gardens at El Paseo and offers delicious coffee creations and some of the loveliest pastry options. The friendly staff whips up lattes fast - but no rush if you want to sip and enjoy the Italian cafe-themed decor.

Yelp
This place is right in the middle of El Paseo with several places to sit both inside and out. They have great snacks and wonderful coffee selections. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Great spot!

Yelp
Gorgeous shopping center the best coffee and yummy bites. Paninis are fantastic. coconut cake is epic.

Yelp
I love this little desert bar located in one of my favorite shopping districts. I am for sure a sweet a holic and this little place always satisfies my apetite. The coffees are out of this world..and the cake of the day is one of the best tasting i have ever had. Reminds me of the fabulous cake i used to get in Oakland. My doctor says im almost diabetic, but im not telling him that i will cheat on my diet once in awhile just so i can indulge in pure heaven with a slice of cake and a coffee concoction at my favorite desertery.

Sara S.

Yelp
I'm a coffee snob and this is the best coffee in Palm Desert hands down. You won't find better.

Yelp
We stopped by one morning originally just for coffee, but were pleasantly surprised to find that they also serve breakfast. Unfortunately, they weren't able to make the avocado toast because their food delivery hadn't arrived yet. The cashier seemed a bit short with her responses, which took away from the otherwise charming and cozy atmosphere of the place.

Yelp
Attentive service with good sandwiches, coffees and wine. Great location for shopping nearby.

Yelp
Such a wonderful place to work or chat with friends, always a great vibe. Their lattes and matcha are amazing- and so is everyone that works here :) Great location too

Yelp
I love going here in the morning for my coffee sometimes. Excellent coffee, nice bakery products, super clean. Love the owner from Milan , Italy. Plus very dog friendly.

Yelp
I liked the coffee but probably will not go back. The staff was lackluster and kept whispering and then cackling loudly. I couldn't stand their immaturity so I left. They really ruined the cute vibe inside. I was the only one in the cafe and their immaturity was annoying and made it uncomfortable.

Yelp
Very delicious and great service! Good for sweet morning and business chatting and working !

Yelp
Hidden Gem alert!! We were walking to happy hour at Boozehounds in the heat of the afternoon and needed a pit stop for a cold drink when this place appeared like a mirage in the desert! It's a bit off the main part of Palm Canyon Dr. We've been to Italy a couple times and immediately loved the ambiance, reminded us of enotecas and bars you find all over Florence and Rome. Super cute decor, a wall of carefully curated Italian retail goods like biscotti, pasta and sauces and ofc wine! Greeted very quickly by Karin who is the sweetest. They were out of the wine I ordered and the gentleman behind the bar (sorry your name escapes me!) kindly poured a couple of tastes of his faves so I could choose another. I ordered our wine and beer at the counter and stood to wait and Karin insisted we sit and she would bring it to us! We loved it so much that we returned for their special Friday wine tasting after Boozehounds! We were greeted like old friends and ended up chatting and tasting wines for over an hour. Really special place with warm hospitality and the coolest staff. And we didn't even try their coffeeeeeE LOL!

Bianca B.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I decided to go on a coffee matcha hunt and we went in to try this place on our second coffee hunt. First was Verraco which 10/10 but this place, right off the bat, no one greeted us, the energy was so dead and dry. No "good morning" it was "you guys ready" after standing by the register for a minute. super monotone - it just wasn't what one would expect on a sunday morning from a coffee place. We got two specialty coffee's and they were okay. Not something we would order again. The shop itself is cute. We decided to come by off of the photos on yelp. I would've grabbed a bottle of wine if the service was better.
google avatar

Jenna K.

Yelp
didn't even get to try anything... drove 15 mins out of the way. escalators were down as was the elevators walked all the way across just to go back to where we were but one level down. and they closed at 5 not 6. got there at 5:05 yelps closing time is off.

Roger R.

Yelp
Gabriella is so wonderful she treats every customer like their family. I strongly recommend you come here.

Yelp
"Everything" was great! Food Service Ambiance It is a great place to "escape"!!!!!!

Yelp
Amazing Place, Amazing good quality coffee that's not bitter. The balance is very beautiful. They have great pastries. And also light bites to choose from. The ambience is great. It feels like you go to a different world. It's a happy cozy vining place. A must check out if you are in Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage El Paseo area. Also the staff are very friendly! I can't stand grumpy service. You will definitely not get this here!! Go check it out!!

Yelp
Sotto Voce is a fantastic place to sit back and relax, while enjoying a cappuccino and biscotti, or even on of their tasty wines. Maro runs the place, with a lot of Sicilian love, friendliness and family touches. We came here after shopping nearby to cool off. It was the first really hot day in the Coachella Valley. And even though it was a dry heat (or is it wry) outside, we stopped for a needed rest. Maro and his Sotto Voce didn't disappoint. We only wish that such a well stocked wine bar was near us in the IE. We had a iced mocha cappuccino and an apple tort, which hit the stop.

Yelp
What a cute little, family owned, bistro tucked amongst the big, glitzy chain stores. Their upscale atmosphere and professional approach fits this mall well. You can see from my pic the view from our little table in the early evening. Their menu is simple and their service was prompt and attentive. We started with the Vegetarian Salad. There was plenty of flavors with the roasted veggies and mild seasoning. When they brought out the Vegetarian Salad, they noticed that the avocado was missing. So to be fair, they served the avocado with the side bread instead of butter, see pic. BTW, I liked this option much better than butter. We then shared their Virtue Panini. Again, it had the wonderful veggies. The grilled toast added the great crunch to the bite. It was a delightful sandwich.

Yelp
I love Sottovoce! It is located in the heart of the gardens on el paseo creating an amazingly relaxed and chic vibe compared to other places you can choose to grab a coffee in Palm Desert. Highly recommend as a cute place to meet up with a friend. My favorite drinks are the lavender matcha and lavender latte. The bakery items are ridiculously good and worth stopping for on their own.

Yelp
I received a matcha with oatmilk and it was so refreshing for the valley's weather. So tasty & the place is relaxing

Yelp
I love this place . The coffee and food are fantastic. There is also great service and ambience. It gives me a feeling that I'm in Beverly Hills next to Saks Fifth Avenue
google avatar

James K.

Yelp
I love this place any chance I'm near by everything is amazing so clean and inviting the perfect coffee shop to sit and enjoy a visit with a friend

Amanda M.

Yelp
Kaley is literally the best! Always has a smile on her face and always makes me feel so welcome! Makes my coffee 100% better because of how great the customer service is!
google avatar

Jay A.

Yelp
Sottovoce has an exceptional location next to Saks Fifth Avenue on El Paseo. I was walking Elizabeth (my English bulldog) today and stopped by for a coffee. I opted for a cappuccino, my coffee libation of choice. Typically I would have had a pastry as well; however, I had just finished lunch and needed a coffee pick me up. Sorry for not included a picture. However, my cappuccino came in a very cool square cup with a square lid. Ironically it was really easy to hold. Most important is the fact this was the best cappuccino I have found in the Coachella Valley. It was textbook perfect. It was far better than the cappuccino I frequently buy a couple of blocks away on El Paseo. Bottom line? I'm a customer now. They were very nice to my dog and I today. I am thrilled to have a good coffee spot here.

Karla K.

Yelp
We had stopped by this cute shop for coffee before but tonight, we thought we'd stop in for wine. Lucky us, they had a wonderful Italian wine tasting going on complete with crackers and a pasta salad. The wine was outstanding (as were the snacks) and the service was friendly and accommodating. We came home a few of the wines we tasted as a souvenir. We'll be back again.. for coffee and for wine - and a nice experience
google avatar

Michelle S.

Yelp
The service was okay and the Americano was good. However the pastries are extremely overpriced ($12 for a key lime tart that definitely was not worth it). Won't be back.

Yelp
This cafe and Italian market serves great espresso, cookies and more. Service is very friendly and ambiance is very inviting. I have tried it four times already and it has been a pleasure each time.

Yelp
Music, wine, dessert, coffee! What more can you ask for? Well there's more... Calming cafe sitting on the first level of El Paseo shopping mall. You don't feel like you're there anymore once you're greeted by the smells and staff. I absolutely LOVED the pistachio Cornetto. It's fluffy, flaky, sweet, creamy goodness all packed into this gorgeous pastry!! My family was waiting for a table at a brunch restaurant and stumbled upon this gem. Well guess what?! We walked in for a coffee and ended up enjoying some laughs while sharing this pastry that everyone thoroughly enjoyed. I look forward to coming back here for a cute wine and snack date with my guy. Bookmark this gem for your next trip to the desert. If you already live in the valley, make this your next coffee/wine date

Yelp
We came March 1, 2025 at 10am. Cafe was dark. Looked closed. INCREDIBLY OVER PRICED. We ordered sandwiches with prosciutto. It was just regular ham. Our paninis were also COLD. The cashier (a lady) was unwelcoming and very snobby and rude. Coffee was really good. matcha was overly sweetened, not good. I didn't even ask for it to be sweetened. They didn't bother asking. Over all we paid $80 for basically cold ham and cheese sandwiches and drinks. Only come for coffee and wine TO GO. Skip the food, skip dining in. Will NOT be coming here ever again. Waste of money and experience was unpleasant. Coffee not good enough to deal with the employees. Trust me, just go to Starbucks a quarter of the price or Wilma and Frieda's upstairs for a BIG WARM breakfast for your whole family for $80 Edit: owner just private messaged me to excuse her poor behavior: "Oh my god we are so sorry to hear this... maybe we were very tired and sometimes make a mistake.... The panini are made with prosciutto crudo. The panini are made fresh I just brought from Palm Desert. The snobby part I can address directly I was slightly upset that I could not accommodate the request for focaccia. If you confuse that with snobbery . This is a job sometimes rewarding sometimes difficult. Well... if you do not wish to come, that is your choice." UPDATE: MY DAUGHTER GOT FOOD POISONING FROM HERE!!! You literally cannot make this up!

Max G.

Yelp
I come here almost everyday, best cafe in the valley. Kaley makes the best latte I have ever had and I won't go anywhere else !
google avatar

Corey H.

Yelp
A cute little coffee, pastry, wine shop on the main shopping drag/mall. Too bad I wasn't hungry because the pastries looked incredible and lots of people were buying them. The Sicilian owner was there and I believe his daughter helped us. Our lattes were tasty.

C W.

Yelp
SottoVoce is an amazing Italian coffee & food shop and we absolutely love SottoVoce, like we always say! The owner and her family are always amazing, caring and super friendly. Customer service is always is a A+ The place is so cozy, the food is amazing, and love all the sandwiches, so... good- delicious! The desserts are so yummy. Everything is made with love and perfection. Check out! You will not regret!

Yelp
The coffee and pastries here were amazing. The owner and barista were so sweet and I absolutely loved the vibes here. I would definitely recommend trying this cafe out!
google avatar

Yelp
I went here this morning it was so good !!!!!!!!!! Like the food was so savory and the coffee was too good to waste i was full from the food but the coffee was too good to waste lol. The service was amazing the barista was very nice when handing my drink. Also the place was so comfy like i don't know how to explain it. It was so warm inside.

Yelp
I have been fortunate to never have had particularly rude service. The server this afternoon at this cafe takes the cake. We walked in for a couple of coffees to go; the two servers behind the bar were helping other clients, so we waited while we decided what to get. When we were ready and one of the servers was available, he literally walked around yawning and whistling, making it very clear that we were NOT worth his time or service. Noted. We walked out without ordering and will not be returning. There are so many cute restaurants in Palm Desert, find somewhere else.

Paul H.

Yelp
Sometimes in todays world everything moves so fast we get used to the large national coffee shop chains and accept that is good coffee and in some cases it can be. Then you come into a wonderful Italian coffee shop like this one and you're reminded of what a GREAT cup of coffee coupled with unbelievable pastries, sandwiches and overall charm... then it's hits you what doing something special is like... can't help but smile and enjoy!!! Well done Sottovoce... anyone who comes in will remember you and be back:)
google avatar

Alyssa L.

Yelp
Following my previous review. I had high hopes for this place. Today I was in need of a tasty treat or two and I have been wanting to try their pastries, cakes, & macaroons probably since the beginning of the year. I got my items to go because I needed to return back to work. I work close by so they were only out of the fridge for less than 5 minutes. I tried all of my treats and they were so dry and had a freezer burn taste to them that I could not get past. I spent $30.. I am truly devastated and I don't think I'll be returning.

bradley s.

Yelp
Coffee, pastries, small plates and wine tasting. What could go wrong? Great place to pop in if you're in El Paseo and need a pick me up
google avatar

Amanda B.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped in here for coffees while waiting for brunch in the Gardens! We are not local to the area but anytime I see a locally owned, small coffee shop business I love to support rather than going to a chain. I had a lavender latte and my husband had an americano. Both were delicious. We were helped right away and I loved the cute pattered seats and little coffee bar seating. The decor of wine bottles and books makes this cafe really cozy and cute. My lavender latte was delicious and something I was happy to see on the menu. I was able to get my latte made with almond milk for no additional charge which was another plus. I recommend this coffee shop to try while shopping in the area or hanging out! Supporting small owned businesses is so important and makes local communities unique and special.

I Am The Real K.

Yelp
we went in today and had a panino and a croissant and 2 cappuccino's best ever. the place is relaxing and like being in Europe made feel like I was on vacation... great food and coffee absolutely a must ...

Evelyn H.

Yelp
This was my husband's and I first time checking out this coffee spot and I can say it was bad. We entered the place and the girl that took our order didn't even say hello, or good morning was not very welcoming. Did not ask if it was our first time, then I asked what their popular tea was and she told me the peach bilini and let me say this tea is just water with a peach tea bag. No extra sweetener or anything, I would've expected her to give me more details or information but seemed like it was a bother that we came in. We would maybe give it another try but my husband wasn't too pleasant with the coffee either. I think a different costumer service would make a big difference. Kind of disappointed.
google avatar

Marcie M.

Yelp
Iced lavender latte was ok. If you get a large ask for less ice because you get very little drink. I need to try a hot drink next time. Nice owner, Mauro. I don't drink alcohol, which seems to be a large portion of their business. But, I'll have to come back to try the bakery. Everything looked good in the case. It's very limited seating inside, but they have some tables outside.
google avatar

Pauline M.

Yelp
I can't believe I did not take pictures of our AMAZINGLY yummy Panini. I was too hungry and excited when I found out this place makes paninis. I got the grilled veggies and my husband got Turkey pesto, we swapped halves. We both decided mine was very good. Although I do love pesto but the veggie was extremely good. Friendly service, we ordered at the counter, the chef brought it out for us. It's a cute little place for Italian bakery and sandwiches. They do have beer and wine. We would've sat outside if it wasn't too warm. Didn't have any of their yummy looking deserts, trying to save room for dinner later. After all, this was supposed to be a a little snack. Definitely coming back.
