Semmarine Market is a beautiful traditional place to stroll through and experience authentic Moroccan vibes. Great for buying souvenirs, bargaining for good deals, and enjoying local food and drinks. A lively spot that’s perfect for soaking in the atmosphere.

Nothing like in anywhere in the world. Fantastic place to shop for items that are very unique. It’s not like some of the other markets in the world where it’s just full of fake and replica items. Here you can actually see craftsmen’s working on items. Ensure you haggle. Always offer 40% less of what they ask for as a starter for anyone new to haggling. It’s all just good business.

If you’re visiting Marrakech and want to step right into the heart of its famous marketplace, make sure the Souk Semmarine is on your route. Known as one of the closest major souks to the iconic Jemaa el‑Fna square, it offers a vibrant, immersive experience of the city’s old-town trading spirit. What to explore • Wares galore: You’ll find virtually everything here — textiles, leather goods, traditional slippers (babouches), pottery, lanterns, jewellery, and artisan crafts. • Sweet treats: Among the many stalls, one local favourite is a cookies and pastry vendor often remarked on by visitors. His stand stands out amid the craft-goods and makes for a delightful stop. (Since you mentioned you have his picture, that will add a lovely personal touch.) • Atmosphere: Expect narrow alleys, vivid colours, friendly yet business-minded merchants, and that unmistakable “medina buzz”. One review puts it: “Amazing experience just walking around … be prepared to haggle, haggle, haggle.”

A very nice market but the prices are so unreasonable . One place will sell an item for 60 dirhams where as, the other will sell it for 300 dirhams. Also I do not recommend anyone to eat street food as chances of food poisoning is very high and we were food poisoned and had to spend a day at the hospital 😫

Great place to visit. A bustling market where you can buy colorful clothing, fabrics, antiques, food and spices.

We visited this late in the day and as it grew dark the atmosphere also increased. This can be an intense place with sellers eager to get your business. I found most of them were good humoured and we're obviously well used to reaction so don't worry if you refuse their pleas, just do it with a smile and respect. Cars and bikes fly around and busy doesn't come close to covering the constant noise and sea of people. Goods are of various qualities but most are just fine. Haggling is accepted so make sure you come away with a good deal. Loads of places to eat from snacks to full meals with plenty of varieties to choose from. I loved it here but I love the hustle and bustle and noise. It's exciting and stimulating. This soul is open till late and well worth a few visits.

It's one of those places you've got to go and experience for yourself. You can buy pretty much anything you can imagine and negotiate yourself a good price, never that the first price as it's highly overpriced. Also avoid on a Sunday it gets extra crazy

Nice market you can find any and everything here mostly artisan goods. Great buys you have to be careful to not betaken advantage of as a tourist they will gladly over charge you.
